Azrael smiled. "I have always seen elves as those who have a great connection to nature." He said. "While werewolves have been at odds with many races, my pack has much respect for the elves, though circumstances in these times have prevented us from expressing that." He said. "For we care very deeply for nature as well. On that note... what do you think of werewolves?" He asked. "You didn't seem too fond of us earlier."

Miluiel hadn't gotten to the point that she had wanted to make, but that was alright, she wasn't sure if she was ready to confess out loud that so far all she could do was harm nature. "W-werewolves." she said softly, "It's nothing against you, or your pack, but my life has been plagued by Werewolves. It was a werewolf who attacked our forest, he came in the night, a time where elves are handicap, our people are not blessed with night sight as we are day sight. He came to us in our beds, some of us he bit setting them into a terrible burning agony as their fair bodies changed. Some of them he slaughtered by many cruel acts. Few of us were woke by the screams of the others and we were able to escape, but not without our scars." Her hand rested on her back as she grimaced in remembered pain.

"This werewolf killed my people, I watched him murder my sister, I could hear the screams of my parents just down the hall. I think that our house was his first stop. My parents where important people, that, I think is why he changed them rather than killed them. Once an elf is changed he or she falls into the hands of the changer, they are his slaves." Miluiel's hands shook with fear, and saddness as she recalled the events. "He now has taken control of the town, I have searched for someone who can help me win back my home, my town, and to get my parents back from that monster.

Shera would nod, her magic hadn’t restored yet so she would gladly try it. She’d take the leaf and apply it to her wound as it did numb the pain. Her right hand would hold gently to one of Celeron as she seemed to close her eyes again from her injuries being bad enough that she was tired. Between this wound and the one to the back of her head. She wasn’t in good shape.

Azrael bowed his head, and his ears drooped a bit. "I am sorry.... I did not know." He said very sadly. "If you were to slay the one that took your home away, your parents will regain their senses and free wills, as well as their forms. Those who become werewolves unwillingly will not remain in werewolves. Only a willing change is irreversible." He explained to her. "Did you see any symbol on the werewolf? Any scar or dyed fur? Anything like that? If you were to tell me I could identify the pack. However... if you say that it was only one wolf... then he may have been cast out of his pack, or left his pack in some other fashion." He said.

Azrael laid a blanket on the floor near the fire and rested Shinn on the blanket. The cub didn't stir, and continued to breathe softly in his sleep. "There is a saying among my pack, as well as many others, that a lone wolf dies first. This lone werewolf must have seen the shortcomings of his arrogance, and such used unwilling pawns to keep his flaws from being exposed. To ambush and surprise is one thing and a key to hunting, but to attack people while they are asleep is not the way of the werewolf, it is cruel and dishonorable and not the way of my people." He looked at Miluiel. "I want to help you, since you agreed to help me. As an honorary pack member, you must know that the first rule of the pack, and that is that no pack brother or sister is left alone, especially when in need."

"That is what I figured, that is why I'm out searching for help, though I would not want to get you and your family hurt or worse killed. I figured that if he was killed that they would be released." Miluiel planed her hand over her heart. "That is my mission, and I don't want you to feel tied down to a mission where goodness knows what will happen." Her eyes fell down to Shinn sleeping so peacefully, so innocently. "I would feel awful in anything happened to you or your family. I thank you for your offer, as well as your accepting of me into your pack. That is more than I could ever hope for, I can ask no more of you."

Miluiel bowed her head in thought as she concentrated on the memories of her town. "Massive white teeth, eyes of flaming red. His fur was a black blue color in the moonlight." She shook her head just a bit as she tried again to concentrate. "He did have a scar that ran across his face, over his muzzle and across his eye. I admit in the dark, and as afraid as I was I can not recall much more." Miluiel had not included that her parents were the rulers of the clan that had been attacked. She, being their daughter, also ruled the people, that was another reason that she needed to save them. She was the rightful leader.

Azrael thought and then shook his head. "I am sorry... but that sort of scar is a common wound among my kind, even for those who do not seek battle." He said. "I do not go back on my word. I would feel horrible if you were to go off alone. Its that sort of chain that the Moon Father weaves. No matter what, unless we work to make things better, than the world will only be deluged in sorrow." He said to her. "Think no more of it on this night, Miluiel. We shall seek out plans and answers later." Shinn's ears twitched in his sleep, and Azrael smiled, he must have been dreaming. "With ears like ours, sometimes dark feeling from outside can sometimes enter dreams. Let him sleep in peace, for tomorrow he will get a lesson from his new teacher." He said with a pointed smile at Miluiel. "I'd might as well warn you now, he can be quite a handful."

Miluiel nodded. "I will not summon forth anymore dark feelings to taint his dreams." She smiled at the thought of her new student. "I think that I will be able to handle him. I'm sure he can't have any more energy than elven children. Though I do have one last question for you. Is there a reason for wolves not liking elves?"
PostPosted: Thu Jan 08, 2009 6:33 pm

Azrael sat down and twiddled his clawed fingers in thought. "We don't have any written histories, unfortunately. But from what I understand, during the time before the world fell sick werewolves and elves lived peacefully and often shared forests and other territory. But don't take me at my word, this is mostly conjecture. And I don't have the ages that you have under your skin either." He said softly. "Anyways, if anything can be told from the more reasonable stories passed down from the time the world fell sick... It seems that when the wolves came searching out places to live, asking elves for support... most pack were turned away, sometimes forcefully." Azrael looked up at Miluiel. "However, I do not believe in grudges, and even if those tales are true or have some sort of truth to them, I'm sure the elves had their reasons. And a wolf's anger, runs through blood a long time. I guess now that bad blood is now being filtered away. At least on our end."

"I wonder if that is why we were attacked, if my people were attacked because of this." Her eyes were sad, "And now they have it." She said softly, "But then again I said that I would stop speaking about it." She smiled to block out the shadows. "We'll just have to change that then." She said in a hopeful tone. She was relieved that Azrael didn't carry the grudge as well.

Azrael smiled and nodded. "That we will. For the future. For a brighter world." He said. As he spoke Shinn rolled over in his sleep, and settled down against Mara's leg. "He likes you." Azrael said. "And I think that he interests you as well. That's why I want you to teach him." Azrael looked up at Miluiel. "Would you be able to give him at least a grounding in reading and writing?" He asked her. "I can read and write but... I don't think I have the skill to teach it to my son. My hand is atrocious." He said with a small chuckle.

Miluiel stroked the pup's fur, "I do like him, he's adorable, and I can't wait to begin teaching him. I would be honored to teach him of reading and writing, anything you wish him to know I will do my best to teach him. How much does he know about the forest?" Miluiel knew much about the forests, she hoped to share the forest with the pup, and teach him about life there. Her heart hammered excitedly. She was ready to teach the pup.

"I've taught him a few things, but I haven't been able to get to much, not while the forest had been in bad shape." Azrael said. "However, now that the forest is recovered, I would be happy if you taught him of the forest. When the animals get back I intend to teach him how to hunt. He's about the right age, and he's been begging for it." Azrael said, smiling as he looked at Miluiel stroking Shinn's fur.

Azrael stomach grumbled. "Excuse me for a moment. I need something to eat." He said to the elf. He stood up and walked into the storage area and found a slab of dried meat that would suit his appetite. He returned to the central room, tearing a large piece of the meat off. He chewed thoughtfully and then swallowed. "And I will certainly be more happy when the animals return. I'm getting quite tired of this dried meat." He said before devouring the rest of the meat he had taken.

Miluiel looked at the pup, not wanting to stare while Azrael ate. "Yes, I will be looking forward to the returning of animals as well." The elf smiled at the thought. She wondered if she would be able to find time where she could be alone, particularly new a body of water. She had to change her powers. She wanted to help the forest and living creatures, not kill them.

"It will be quite a wonderful assignment." Miluiel smiled as she continued to stroke Shinn's soft fur. After a moment she realized what she was doing. She checked her gloved again, still wet. Miluiel closed her eyes silently hitting herself for it. She placed her hands in her lap where she willed them to stay.

Celeron was planning his next move as he brushed his hand through Shera's hair. If he went right after Kokoro the fiend might back track to harm Shera. So long as Celeron was here he could keep her alive now that he could sense Kokoro coming. The kind that teleport were some of the most dangerous type of demons and if he could only distract him long enough to cast the full incantation he could bind his teleport abilities but he could not let Shera be in danger that long.
