Actually Orcus it can be used either way like I just did because it can be pronounced two ways.

No they can't. 'Me neither', would suggest that the person speaking does not smoke. Either however suggests that the speaker is talking to more than one person or about more than one thing, 'Do either of you smoke'. Plus the fact that if you had put neither in that sentence instead of either it would have been a completely different sentence.
