Daniel chuckled, and faked pulling them away from her as he walked, having a hard time repressing a full-out laugh to a quiet chuckle. He shifted his wings on his back, then whirled on Umicho and blew a raspberry before darting toward the cave.

Umicho laughed, watching Daniel run. When he blew a rasberry at her, she chased after him grinning.

Daniel pranced around in place when he reached the cave, laughing at her chasing him after she had already been so close.

Umicho laughed that he got there first, then pounced on him, taking him down under her. "You won the race but I got you!"

Daniel reached up and licked her nose, "Or did I get you!?" he joked, chuckled and nudging her off of him with both his wings and his legs.

Umicho lay in their new cave, currently giving her daughter a bath. They had finally found a suitable cave with a good distance to each type of resource they'd need. she was happy that not soon after she had become heavy with cubs, and now she had a son and daughter. She had never been more happy in her entire life. A loving mate and two beautiful babies.
Kasumi squirmed as her mother gave her a bath, not really enjoying it. She wanted to find her brother and play with him. Not be stuck here getting a bath again. She had to take baths often due to her loving to go out and get messy. She'd follow moles into their holes from curiousity, or just play in the mud. She was very outgoing and it showed.

Daniel was out with Lawrence, teaching him about sneaking around and how to sneak up on prey. Nothing too serious, and it wound up being mostly play, but that was often the best way to teach cubs the most important lessons.
Lawrence liked playing with his dad, and was excited to use what he was learning to scare Kasumi. At the moment he was slinking through the weeds in what he thought was a rather stealthy manner, trying to sneak up on his dad and scare him, just to see how good he was at it.

Umicho finally finished the bath and was ready to let her squirming daughter go play again, but something strange caught her eye. First, she rubbed her paw over the little back, then she gently nudged the places a little. A gasp left her as she saw them.
"Kasumi! You have wings! Just like your daddy!"
Kasumi rolled away, her eyes as big as saucepans. "Wings?! I got wings like Daddy!!!" She moved a bit, her little wings slowly stretching out. They seemed to be about half her size, though it was obvious they could not yet hold her up very high. That did not damper her joy though.
"DADDY!!!"

Daniel's ears perked up and turned to see where the call had come from. As he did so, he felt the weight of Lawrence latching on to his rump with a very young-sounding attempt at a roar. "What is it, Kasumi?" he replied, pulling his son form his rump and hanging on to him by his scruff, holding him above the ground in his mouth.

Kasumi darted out of the den, her Mother very close behind her. As she got closer, she turned her back to her Father, then flexed her wings with a big grin. "I'm just like you daddy! I have wings!"
Umicho moved to her mate, nuzzling his chin, then licking her son's cheek lovingly. This little discovery was simply amazing. Her daughter could grow up and fly. Like she herself had always wished she could.

Daniel set his son down, who ran toward his mother and ran around her feet. "Would you look at that! You do!" He grinned and bent close to see, feigning a sneeze as his nose brushed against the young, downy feathers.

Umicho bent down to nuzzle her son, then laid down and pulled him close, tickling his sides and belly. "Did you have fun today Lawrence? You went hunting with your Daddy?"
Kasumi giggled when her Father knelt down and nearly sneezed. "When can I fly Daddy? Can you show me how?" She turned and nuzzled one of his big paws.

Lawrence returned the nuzzle to his mother, purring before finally settling down a bit after laughing and squirming at being tickled. "Daddy taught me how to sneak through the grass," he replied, calmed down and sounding more like his dad when he spoke. "I'm really good at it!"
"You need to wait for your wings to get bigger," he replied with a big grin, ruffling his daughter's hair with the paw she had nuzzled. "Don't worry, I'll teach you!"
