Abolisher smiled widely at the sudden wave of light. He bent down, and the moment the light was in front of him, his entire form evaporated. As the light vanished, there was nothing left standing.
But...a low chuckle came from the area behind Cosmos. Abolisher now stood on the other end of the room, and rolled his head to the side to crack his neck. If he had been alive, he probably would have just tried to dodge the blast. But...being dead for so long...he was feeling a little "out of shape" so to speak. Quick teleportation would be better for the time being. "And how to you think you're going to go about that?" he asked with a sly grin. "I'm DEAD...not even that damned Spectre can stop me now. Sure...you can try to kill me as many times as you'd like. But I'm just going to keep coming." he said, then dusted off the side of his torn cape. "So if you don't mind....you're keeping me from a few little reunions."

Cosmos slowly turned to face the Abolisher, unfazed as always. "And you will not reach them," he said simply, unflinchly and without any sort of emotion, as he flew toward Khorne, his face expressionless. He lifted a hand, and fired several successive blasts of the Power Cosmic at the Abolisher at a closer range.

Abolisher sighed and blasted himself head on towards Cosmos. He dodged what blasts he could, and allowed the ones he couldn't to destroy parts of his body. With what he had left, he positioned himself under Cosmos and summoned a ball of black energy. With that, he blasted it at Cosmos.

Cosmos merely lifted his other hand as he twisted through the air. The ball of black energy came close, and then was encompassed with a bright light as it was absorbed, channeled through the being's body, and then fired back through Cosmos' other hand in a form of arcing, silvery lightning.
"You shall fall, as will your masters, Khorne of Anacortis. And your soul shall forever be trapped in the Realm of the Unliving. Even now, Nekron asserts his control over you, forcing you to do his bidding. Do you wish to be a slave?"

Abolisher frowned and jetted off towards a corner of the room. He landed and took a more relaxed stance. "I..." he said slowly. "...am no one's slave. What the Hell would you do about it anyway?"

"I am a being of unlimited power, as I am power. I could possibly bring you back to life, if you so desired." Cosmos said, as he was willing to compromise. However, after he said this, the Abolisher was enveloped in a bright black light, and disappeared. Unperturbed, Cosmos went off to do his own thing.

[Enter SYLVERIA from SANCTUM SANCTORUM]
Not long after the two combatants disappeared, a bright light appeared where they had been. As it faded, SHIELD Agent Sandra Roberts-- who went by the codename Sylveria-- smoothed over her dress shirt and skirt, before looking around. The place seemed deathly quiet. "Colonel Fury?" she called. "Are you here?"

[enter Colonel Nick Fury]
"Sylveria." The voice came from over the intercom, but it was still definitely Fury. "Come to the Briefing Room."

Slightly spooked by the sudden noise, Sandra nonetheless made her way to where Fury was located, and as she entered, she saluted. "Colonel," she said. "My mission in Latveria was a success. I got some intel on Victor von Doom's actions after the Multiversal Merge occurred. But... What happened here? Where is everyone?"

"To be completely honest, I'm not sure where everyone is," Fury said, being completely candid. "I'm trying to track everyone down as various systems come back online, but it's slow going. Once we're fully operational again, it'll be much better."

Sandra blinked. "I... I see. Is there anything you need me to do, Colonel?" she asked, although truthfully her mind was on her husband, Harry. Where was he? And then another thought hit her.
"Colonel..." she said softly. "I think I could get my son to help you. I informed him today that I'm a SHIELD agent, and he was... unhappy. Primarily because I could've had him meet the likes of Captain America and the Avengers but the thought had never crossed my mind..."
She cleared her thoat. "Yes, ah... Back to what I was saying. Is there anything I can help you with?"

"Paragon?" Nick Fury lingered on Sandra's tangent. "If meeting Captain America is something he'd like, I can easily arrange that... If I can ever located the Avengers... Right now, my priority is direct S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives. The Avengers are capable of taking care of themselves."

"I am sure he'd like that..." Sandra replied, before she launched into an explanation of what she had been told by her son about his mission into Hell, and what she had heard at the Sanctum from the Green Lantern who had shown up. She talked of the Black Lanterns, and how their leader, Nekron, was planning on taking over the world... or something, as she didn't know the whole story (and she told him as much).
"... They said that I, my son and his partner, and several others were 'recruits' to fight against Nekron and his two allies... whoever they are." Sandra finished, then she sighed heavily.
"Do you know, that's the most I've said to anyone since you sent me to Latveria, Sir? Yeesh..."

Nick patiantly listened to everything she told him, without interrupting. Everything was being recorded, for documentation, as well as for him to listen to again at his convenience for proper dissemination, and to ask better informed questions of her later, if neccesary. He smirked at the comment about the debrief being the most she'd said since being sent to Latveria, thinking to himself that it probably had something to do with that crush she'd had on him since she joined the Directorate. Without giving voice to anything that he'd just though, he said, "I understand, Sandra. May I call you Sandra? It would be more appropriate for the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. to call the new Deputy Director by their first name."

The news hit Sandra like a sort of weight. Deputy Director of SHIELD? she said to herself. She had been working toward that spot for the past... what, almost thirty years now? And she now had it, so suddenly... She swooned, but quickly righted herself on the table Fury sat at.
"I... Yes, of course. Thank you very much, Colonel..." she said breathlessly. "Harry... My husband... He'll be so proud and jealous at the same time..."
Sandra cautiously sat herself down in the chair opposite Fury, and gripped her head in her hands. "Ugh... I need a moment to think, Colonel..."
