Hosk had kept his sound recording system and made sure to record all of what the humans were saying and maybe use their words to strike fear into their hearts, but there was something odd about this situation and Hosk could feel it in his bones. A hunter after so many hunts could develop somewhat of a sixth sense to tell them when something was wrong with the hunt. Hosk cautiously reviewed the words he had managed to record and started to mix them in order to make a sentence. Hosk understood the human language quite well after so long on Earth, good enough to read novels even. Learning their language and literature had only fueled Hosk's desire to hunt them; they were an interesting prey species.

The clown dressed human said many words that could have potential to be used to strike fear between them all, but Hosk needed to review the dialogue first and choose choice words to configure a sentence and increase the pitch to give it a more frightening tone. Hosk could in fact speak English, but only in small bursts due to how his vocal cords worked and even then only in one pitch: low. The clown human had said some interesting words, but none of his words could is properly arranged to make a good sentence. Instead, Hosk activated his plasma canon and turned on his targeting system. There was an odd human being in a cloak, maybe not even human, but Hosk couldn't fire at him due to his position on the roof; any minor sound could alert them. The clown was a tempting target and the other three were too unknown, so the clown it was. Hosk turned off the targeting system and set the cannon to manual; Hosk used the cannon to create panic most of the time since panic was the number one cause of human death in Hosk's experience.

Hosk aimed the cannon with the laser targeting aimed behind the clown human, at the floor. Hosk wanted to gut the clown human and then tear apart the skeleton. Hosk couldn't tell if the other three humans were dangerous, but honor restricted the death of children and Hosk couldn't tell how old the three female humans were, so he would only be able to target the clown and skeleton till he could properly diagnose the others. Hosk fired and the blue plasma took off from the cannon to the area behind the clown human, to frighten them all into panic.

Pixie looked up and frowned, new thoughts had entered her mind and she was getting a bigger headache from them as she tried to deciper the words. But all she could figure out were pictures. The figure on the roof was watching their group. She saw it picture firing a blue plasma towards the Joker and she looked up in shock as the figure pointed the canon towards them. She wouldn't have time to set up a shield or anything so she silently stepped back a good few feet away from the Joker. "Purple Pixie is something a man called me before I blew up his home. It doesn't really have anything to do with my powers." She wanted to meet his gaze and mind sweep him, convincing him to drop the subject but she couldn't see his eyes, or lack there of, under his cloak.

Joker rolled forwards as the blast came down, more out of habit from so many fights against Batman than anything else. He rolled up onto his feet, spun on one of his heels, fired his pistol at the apparent source of the oncoming fire, and used his free hand to push Gossamer and Rosie out of the way. "I knew there was somebody there! You picked a great day to play! All the fun to be had, it's enough to make you laugh in glee! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" He calmed down and continued. "Nice try with the scare tactic, shooting intentionally behind me like that. Oh, yes, I know it was intentional; you took too long to make the shot. You were assessing your options. Just One problem... you can't scare the criminally-insane of Gotham City that easily! And I'm the worst member of that group to mess with. I am the Harlequin of Hate!" The clown fired again. "The Ace of Knaves!" Another shot rang out in the assailant's direction. "The Clown Prince of Crime!" A fouth shot rang out. "I AM THE JOKER! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" The last two shots of his revolver were emptied, and the pistol was immediately dropped and replaced by another two from within his coat. "I'm even going to help you by giving you a tip: Don't waste your time with scare tactics. I either don't fear anything, or am too crazy to care when I AM scared. Sometimes, I MYSELF can't tell which one it is! Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh..."

Reaper knodded and turned back to the others. He had a feeling she was doing something, or at least trying to. A devious and wicked smile curled around his face as he listened to Joker. Now this was more like it, he could definately stand to be around this man. He was about to answer him when whatever it was on the ceiling fired at him. The clown was quick as well. He turned his attention back up at the ceiling, interested in seeing if this...thing would show itself. He'd draw his blade if it came at him, but the Joker looked like he was enjoying himself, so he'd stay out of the way for the moment.

Hosk liked this prey; his words were filled with madness yet he was so sure of each word, an interesting subject that Hosk made sure to record, especially his laughter. Unfortunately his choice of weapons were ranged so far which disappointed Hosk since he preferred to get close and personal. The armor Hosk was wearing was bullet proof, but it didn't cover his whole body: just his chest and midsection. Being cautious, Hosk jumped into the warehouse, his arms barely avoiding the bullets as he descended fast towards the floor and with a thud he landed. Hosk deactivated his cloaking device and revealed himself intentionally in honor of his prey. Hosk didn't want to risk taking off his mask yet since he could lose it or it could end up in the wrong hands. Hosk would normally call back his cannon and fight melee, but only the 'Joker' had attacked with ranged weapons; the others haven't attacked yet. Hosk's cannon was still in manual and its auto targeting was turned off to even the playing field. In order to talk in English, Hosk needed to remove his mask, so he spoke in Yautja.

"The hunter has arrived, now the hunt begins!"

Hosk waited for their next action; a good hunter never jumped into a direct fight unless he knew what his prey could do. The Joker seemed to be an average human, but a human not restricted by fear or other obstacles set by the average mind; the most deadly type of creature is one with no fear. The plasma cannon put its laser scythe on each person every moment so that if it was necessary, the cannon knew where to fire if the auto targeting was turned on.

"It's just like that movie 'Predator'!" Joker exclaimed, disregarding whether anybody in the warehouse other than himself and possibly Pixie would understand that. His insight to things beyond that stupid 4th wall was about to come in handy again. The clown bowed to him, saying "I have NO idea what you just said, but I see that you make yourself visible to your chosen prey, an honor, as I recall. For that, I bow to you in turn." Naturally, Joker bowed another deep bow, then righted himself again, aiming one of his guns at the Predator, but lowering one to show his respect for the Hunter's constant alertness. "Again, I am the Joker. You WILL find that I am not-so-easy to kill. I'm guessing that there is no way to call off this hunt, for the sake of my friends here. No matter, if you're as skilled as I would assume you to be, you'll see that no harm comes to them, so long as no harm comes to you FROM them. If I'm right, simply nod. I'm pretty sure you can inderstand what I'm saying, but I'm also pretty sure that that mask restricts your own use of our language."

A movie? Hosk had no clue there was a movie called Predator where he had come from, was his species fictional in this world? That didn't matter; the human understood the rules of the hunt well, as if he knew of the culture of the Yautja. Hosk reached up to his mask and unlatched the tubing connected to the breath tanks and lifted his mask off of his face. Hosk's mouth mandibles twitch a bit to remove the saliva that was stuck to them. Hosk placed the mask on a crate beside him and spoke in a low pitched voice.

"Right."

The maximum amount of words Hosk could say in English at a time was three or four if the words were short since speaking in human tongue was hard to adapt to a Yautja's vocal cords. Hosk was a bit disappointed that Joker knew about the honor his kind followed since that would alter the way this fight could have gotten. Without his mask, Hosk couldn't auto target with his plasma cannon, but he didn't need to auto target; he was removing his plasma cannon to use it as a gun, to even the odds with Joker's hand held guns. Hosk held it like a rifle and snarled a bit to get rid of the flam in his throat.

Gossamer moved moved back and out of the way as Joker rolled in and opened fire at a newcomer. Rosie on the other hand practically dove around and behind Gossamer as the gunfire rang out. She peered out around Gossamer as the creature appeared in the room and took it's helmet off. Instinctively she retreated behind Gossamer a bit more and gripped the back of her outfit tighter.

Gossamer looked from the creature to Joker. She'd never seen anything like it before, but Joker seemed to know a lot about it. Then again, worlds were combining, could be someone related to his world. She kept a bit of energy flowing through her arms so that she could cast a quick spell if needed, but staying out of the way was probably best for now.

Joker smiled, this was going easier than he had anticipated. He really WAS one of those Predators from those movies. "Well, before we begin, might I request a handshake from my potential killer, heh heh heh..." He held out his right hand.

(( Be warned, if you accept, you WILL suffer from around 1,000 volts of electricity delivered at 223 amps, thanks to his trusty joy buzzer; just so you know, 223 amps is one of amperages that WON'T let you go, so either you or the source needs to be moved, which means that the shock won't stop until Joker decides it stops ))
PostPosted: Mon Apr 13, 2009 10:29 pm

((I remembered the 'joy' buzzer, problem is Yautja don't shake hands with prey. Would you shake hands with a lion or a bear?))

Hosk only chuckled at such a gesture; humans were prey and only in duels done by Yautja required gesture of friendliness before a fight and even then never a hand shake since Yautja found the gesture too human and most humans were considered to be a lowly species. This was an interesting hunt, but a hunt none the less. Some humans were however honorable enough to be able to perform a hand shake with a Yautja since they had proven their honor in the hunt by defeating the hunter, but a stranger held no such honor till proven. Honor among non-Yautja was shown in the form of a hunter's prized weapon that would be given to the prey upon the hunter's defeat and Hosk saw no sign of such on this Joker.

"No shake..."

Hosk needed to recover for a few moments before speaking again in English due to the structure of his vocal cords. After a few seconds, Hosk was ready to speak again.

"Only hunt..."

Hosk didn't like speak English at all since it was limited to his species, but he wasn't going to just nod or play guessing games with some monkey for the sake of conversation; things needed to get done and words were the way to get those things started. Hosk readied his plasma canon for when the first shot was fired; the cannon had a cool down of twelve clicks before it was charged for another shot, meaning devastating -but short bursts- of plasma instead of a constant firing rate.

Reaper smilled as the creature finally appeared. So it really wasn't human. This was going to be interesting. Joker apparenly knew a bit about the creature, so he'd leave it for him.

Pixie watched the Joker jump out of the way from the canon shot. She smirked at his 'Predator' comment knowing that she and him were probuly the only ones who got it. Silly people... not breaking this crazy fourth wall... She smiled wider and watched Hosk, or so he introduced himself as. With the little thoughts coming from his mind, he was having trouble speaking english. Lucky for Joker, the clown liked to taunt his victims before killing them.

Joker smirked; well, if he wasn't going to trick the hunter into a mistake, there was always the other approaches: anger and frustration, and Joker Venom. He decided to try option number two, and have option number three on standby. He took away the hand. "Alright, have it your way. But I must say, I'd always pictured that my killer would have a cape, a pointy-eared cowl, and, you know, could actually say more than four syllables at a time. Seriously now, this world has this wonderful thing called 'surgery', where they can fix that whole speech thing up, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, gotta go kill people for the glory of the hunt." He brought back into the empty hand the gun he had holstered in order to offer the handshake. "Honestly, compared to some of the people I'VE killed, humans are a weak prey, extremely easy to break, emotionally AND physically. I'm sure you know of such races, but you still insist on humans. Amateur." He grinned wide, showing that he didn't care if he got under the hunter's skin at all.

"You are human."

Hosk was interested in humans because humans had no instincts; they did things on a whim and based on their fears, not often did they use logic or simple common sense, just whims and assumptions that made such interesting prey. Hosk had hunted other things before humans, like Xenomorphs and Space Jockeys, but humans held their own sort of charm that made them each unique like the Yautja, while other prey was always the same due to their instincts and natural habit. Hosk wanted to see if this man could even concept speaking the language of the Yautja without straining his vocal cords, but Hosk wasn't here to prove a point; he was here to hunt. This guy seemed to be a real joker, which paid tribute his name the Joker, a very interesting concept. Hosk wanted to hunt, not talk, so he aimed his cannon while in hand and fired at the Joker's feet' preferably the right leg.

"Dance!"

Joker leapt back a bit, barely dodging the shot, and fired two shots of his own off from the gun on his left, aimed at the Predator's own feet. "It takes two to tango, so..." Almost as a surprise to himself, let alone what it would do to the hunter, he decided to finish the statement in the creature's native toungue:
"Dance with me!"
It was hard-managed, but he forced it out; human vocal cords were never made for that kind of strain.
