Warrior of Metal MegaTherion777 Warrior of Metal MegaTherion777 Warrior of Metal What would you say for a thrashy, Testament, Exodus, Death Angel, etc. tone, for under $400? that marshall's gonna be the closest thing you can find, prolly Sounds good to me. I'll go for it then. Its loud enough for stage use, and I trust the brand. What do you use, personally? vox ac 50 Price? normally $1200 but i got it on clearance for $750

MegaTherion777 Digital Malevolence Warrior of Metal MegaTherion777 Warrior of Metal Marshall MDFX 50 make you happy? Its 380, but I can handle it. meh. marshall's are good, but i never found one that fit my sound. if you like it, however, go for it, it's gonna be better than the line 6 What would you say for a thrashy, Testament, Exodus, Death Angel, etc. tone, for under $400? I personally don't like tube amps because you need to replace the tubes often. The guitarist in my band uses a hughes & kettner head that doesn't require tubes, but those things are expensive. I own one of these, it sounds awesome. I have yet see another amp to live up to this ones sound..in its price range. Its way better then a line 6. true, but they sound much better than solid state amplifiers Yeah, but unless you have the money to remplace them, its not too bad to just use a solid state amp.

Speaking of a nice bluesy sound, my friend found an old vintage record player thing with a built in tube amp inside so he sodered a 1/4 jack into it and it has a great sound. I would be even better if he replayed two of the tubes.
