High School band.
I think about two weeks in the summer..like 12 hrs. a day or something.
3-6 on Mondays (sectionals & Masterclasses included for this day only)
3-6 on Tuesdays
Wednesdays are off
3-6 on Thursdays
Saturdays - 9 AM - 5 PM

high school
we used to do mon, tues, thurs, and sometimes fri before games. our band camp was two weeks in the summer from either 8-12, or 12-8
now we have a new director and we only practice tues, and fri before games, but i dont think its enough. this year bandcamp was three mini two-day camps for a few hours, and then one week from 8-8

I'm in hihschool. We practice mondays ,wednesdays, thrusdays, and right before football games. So its 8 hours total.

we only practice 2 days a week from 2:30 to 5:15

I'm in high school and we practice 8 hours every week, and that's only because UIL rules say we can't practice more. and we meet for a couple hours before contests or football games.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 5:30-8:30.
Saturday from 1-5.
Plus extra rehersals when we travel or have a competition on Sunday.
Band camp was for two weeks in August.
One week at the school, 1-8:30 and the second week was up in Maine. Well, eight days really, marching and playing for about nine hours each of those days.
Plus pep band for football games on Fridays.

Hight school band. We practice 8 hours a week like someone apparently just mentioned before me. UIL rules and what not. So there you go.

We practice as an ensemble every band class period and the different sections (hornline, colorguard, and percussion) have weekly after school practices on different days, and also on Saturday mornings before competitions.
Hornline: About 10-12 hrs. a week?
Colorguard: About 12-14 hrs. a week?
Percussion: About 12-14 hrs. a week?

We practice for a week straight for 8 hours a day during marching band camp! So much fun. We then start a three hour practice on Mon. and Thurs. After a week, school starts. So, combined with the evening Mon. and Thurs. practices, we get an hour and a half to practic during class. We may practice on Fridays if we have a football game, and we practice on Sat. from 9-5 on non-competition days. On competition days, we meet at 8, practice for about 5 hours, and then leave to go to competition!
Yay!
So, I guess that pans out to:
Band Camp: 45 hours/ wk.
Wk. before school: 6 hours/wk.
Wk. during school: Roughtly 22 hours a week with football game/wk. 20 withoutwk. 20 no competion/wk. 18 competion/wk.
I love practicing!
OH! And we are a high-school band.

During the marching season (while school's in session) we practice Monday, Wed., Thurs, and before home games Friday. *away games we just get on the bus*. About an hour and a half.
Before the school year begins, during band camp, we had about 2 weeks of 8-12-ish every weekday. *If I recall correctly*
High School.

I am in a highschool marching band. We practice on monday for 30 minutes, tuesday for 1 hour and a half, 3 hours on wednesday night, 2 hours on thursday, and 6 hours on saturdays (unless it's a compitition day). On the fridays that we have football games we show up at five p.m. and the game usually ends at about 10 or 10:30 p.m. On compitition nights we start practice at 8:30 a.m., leave for the compitition at 3 p.m. and get home from the compitition between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.

Our practices are Mon-Fri 6pm - 8pm except Wed. 3:45pm - 5pm
funny how you can spend over 300 hours of practice for just 8 minutes of a show.
