Kanis nods, "Yes it would be nice...maybe like air...you can use it to become lighter and help you 'fly'. Or earth to help you hide." she nods and smiles. The sun was fully up now and she wondered where Corrah was.
Ruran sighed, "Where are they...if I am up and ready I want to get started." he said in a bored tone. He wanted to get busy not sit around.

Aras looked thoughtful at those suggestions. "I don't think I would like to fly," she commented with a grimace, "but maybe fire, like Daddy? But he didn't learn that here ..."
Suddenly Corrah appeared standing directly behind Ruran. He had been there for a while already, but he had been curious to know what the children were like when they were alone, and so he had watched them for a while. Now, however, it was time for their training to begin.
"Follow me," he said in a low tone, walking out between the children so that they would be aware of his presence, and continuing past them to the trees on the far side of them.

Kanis smiled and nods, "Fire could be good." she jumped hearing Corrah's low powerful voice. It always struck her deep. She stood and nods. "Yes sir." she said and moved off after Corrah.
Ruran shuddered as Corrah moved so smoothly. He growled a bit but followed after Corrah.
Rhea's tail started to wag as he smelt and saw Corrah moving toward them then appear behind Ruran. He giggled and yipped warmly standing up as he walked past and licked Corrah's cheek waiting for her to be ready as well.

Aras scrambled to her feet as well, surprised by how suddenly Corrah had appeared. Maybe she would someday be able to do that, too! Wouldn't that be neat? She wondered if that was a magic she could learn - though she suspected that Corrah didn't use magic to do it.
She made up her mind then and there that someday she would also be able to do that without the use of any magic at all. She would be a good woodland elf, just like her father!
Corrah said nothing, but he heard Ruran growling at him. He didn't care. The boy would behave. Or else.
"Keep up," he barked over his shoulder, walking faster than he had the day before. He knew the children would be starting out exhausted and probably also quite sore, but that was what endurance training was all about.

Kanis nods and started to jog to keep up with Corrah. She tried to keep her breathing even, though like always it started to come faster already. Corrah was so good. She hoped to one day get half as good.
Rhea giggled and could tell Aras was deep in thought so he trotted a bit in front of her not having to encourage her. But as soon as needed him he would fall back and keep her going.

For nearly an hour Corrah led the children, keeping them at the same elevation so that they would not be short on breath - or at least, not as short as the day previous - until at last they reached a pool of water. To him, it was little more than a large puddle, or perhaps a small pond - but to the children, it would seem much larger, and it was easily large enough for the training that he wanted to do with them today.
"Catch your breath," he told them as they arrived, waving one arm to motion them towards a fallen log so that they could sit. "We will begin momentarily."

Kanis could not believe they had been moving for so long that as soon as Corrah said they could rest she almost jumped for joy. She looked at the pool and smiled. They were going to get to learn to swim. She could not believe she had guessed it. She blushed realizing she did not have a swim suit.
Rhea moved to drink the water then looked up at Corrah, "Mother?" He asked wondering where she was. He was very thankful that Corrah had allowed him to run on all fours today. He hated the walking on two legs thing.

Aras flopped onto the ground, more because she could than because she needed to. She was only a little tired, but it was better to rest as much as she could before they started their real training.
Corrah shook his head at Rhea.
"She would just spoil you," he told him flatly. "You're in this with the other kids, whether you like it or not, and you'll be treated just the same as them."
He turned and leaned against a tree. "You all have five minutes, and then I have but one question for you."

Rhea tilted his head confused. He did not understand Corrah's tone nor his words. The alpha had played with him, laughed and smiled...why was he so cold now?
His ears slightly lowered, he smiled and moved to try and sneak under Corrah's cloak to play their version of hide and seek.
Kanis looked up, "What question is that sir?" She asked catching her breath finally.

Corrah looked down at Kanis and smiled grimly, ignoring Rhea, despite his desire to play with the boy.
"Do you want proper lessons that might take a while? Or would you like a sink or swim version of it?" he said softly. He glanced sidewise at Ruran. "It is an individual question. I will teach those who wish to learn. Those who believe that they can do things well enough on their own ... can do so."
He was almost hoping Ruran would choose the sink or swim method, because though the water would stand neck deep on Corrah in its deepest part, it would of course be very deep for the tiny surprises.
Aras stuck her hand high in the air. "Lessons!" she chirped without hesitation. "Lots ... of lessons ..."
She lowered her hand again, feeling slightly foolish, though her desire did not change. She wanted to learn properly, not make up her own way of doing things.

Rhea whimpered and still tried to get Corrah to play. He nuzzled against Corrah's leg, and popped his head out smiling up at the big alpha above him. His tail wagged happily and he yipped up at him.
But he could see Corrah was not responding to him. His tail slowly stopped beating and his ears lowered. Why wouldn't Corrah play with him. "Dad..." he barked softly. He tried to think of the word to use....what was it.
"Dad....please?"
Kanis looked shocked, "I would like lessons please...I don't think water would be my element." She laughed softly and smiles.
Ruran turned and looked at him. He could tell that Corrah was testing them and though he did not want to be weak like his sisters he knew he could not swim and Corrah would not safe him until he was almost drowned then make him learn normally.
"I will take the lessons then...though I think the wolf should just sink or swim...they can swim naturally."

Corrah was not fazed in the least by Ruran's comment, and after nodding at Kanis, he glared at Ruran.
"I don't suppose you know what the word 'individual' means, do you?" he asked rhetorically. "I asked for your answer for yourself, and you alone. Your sisters have spoken for themselves, quite clearly, and quite adequately. And Rhea has nothing at all to do with you."
He wanted nothing more than to pick up Rhea and play with him, but he couldn't ... Ruran hated the wolf boy enough as it was, and if he knew that the boy had a place in Corrah's heart, he would only make things more miserable for him than he was already trying.
He looked at all of the children. "Take off as much of your clothes as you are comfortable with," he instructed. "The more you have on, the more you will weigh, and while eventually I will have you swimming like that, for now you should be as light as possible to learn the basics."
He reached up and unclasped his cloak, dropping it to the ground and revealing a long, black robe. Actually, he didn't look much different with just his robe ...
Then he shrugged out of that to reveal a scar-crossed torso that was rippling with muscles and a pair of long black pants. It was only now that the length of his hair became obvious: it fell to his elbows in thick black strands that were perfectly straight.
Aras obeyed Corrah's command immediately, silently, taking off her belts, then her sandals - but there she stopped, keeping on her fishnet shirt and her pants. Were it only her, Rhea, Kanis and Corrah, she would have had no trouble stripping down to her undergarments ... but Ruran was a merciless tease, and she would have never heard the end of it.

Ruran glared back at Corrah. His hands clasped into fists. "Well he is not giving an answer is he? Someone should answer for him." He turned his back to Corrah and smirked. He was going to strip down naked, for he was unashamed of himself, but he figured that Corrah would try to poke fun of him. so he stripped down to his little boy short underwear. Leaving his clothes scattered on the ground.
He turned back watching his sisters stripping intently.
Kanis nods and started to strip. She laughed a bit knowing she did not have much to take off but she slipped off her boots and socks. Then she slipped off her pants so she was just wearing her top and panties.
She turned to see Corrah pulling his robe off and she could not stop a gasp for escaping. Heat rose to her cheek as she felt her heart beat strangely watching Corrah's scarred solid chest exposed and his beautiful crow black hair flow down. For the first time in her young life she felt the beat of a heart in a begining crush.
She looked away and towards the water.
Rhea whimpered again, tears forming in his duel colored eyes. Why was Corrah not looking at him or playing. His ears went flat and his lip quivered a bit.
But then the wonderful cloak fell above him. He giggled and wriggled around it in and tried to find away out. He was so happy Corrah was now playing with him. He wriggled around in the cloak trying to find his way out.

"Since Armus is Rhea's guardian, she would be the one qualified to speak for him," Corrah replied emotionlessly to Ruran, "not you. In her absence, I will choose for the boy."
He lifted a corner of his cloak off the ground to help Rhea find his way out. He didn't have all day to wait for the boy, after all.
"Now come on," he said, a little gruffly, to the other three. "Into the water. Don't go deep. Just get used to the temperature. I'm sure it must be colder than what you're used to."
Considering its source was a fresh mountain spring, and that it was fueled by winter runoff and melting snow from the peak ... it was usually very cold indeed.
Aras's eyes flickered nervously, hearing that it was cold. She wasn't very fond of the cold ... but then, this was training, right? She had to force herself to do things that she didn't like.
She took a deep breath and started slowly towards the pond, fists clenching slowly at her sides as she anticipated the cold.

Ruran moved deliberatlly slowly towards the water. Why rush just to please the scared up elf?
Rhea giggled and smiled up at Corrah as his father helped him out but then he wince at the tone. Corrah was still not playing with him. He lowered his head and ears but moved from the cloak and hurried to Aras's side still fully clothed clearly not having heard to strip.
Kanis walked towards the water, the sun was not high in the sky to help warm the water so she knew it would be cold but the best way to get use to it was to jsut get in and move around.
So she strode right into the the water even as its coldness caused a gasp to escape her lips and she shivered a bit but she ducked under to cover herself in the water then started to walk around the shallow parts.
