"Alright, thanks for all the help." Amaya smiled and hesitantly waved goodbye to her friend. "See ya later Hargun." Turning, she headed back up the stairs and into her own duplex.

Once Amaya was in the privacy of her own duplex she coughed and waved a large hand in front of her face. The heat from her room added to the vomit did not make a pleasent smell. Keeping the door open, she walked into the bathroom (carefully avoiding the mirror entirly) and rummaged under the sink to see if any cleaning supplies had been given to her.

Score.

Grabbing a spare washcloth and some cleaner from underneath the sink with one hand she made her way back to her bed and manuvered the chair Hargun had sat on back to her desk before getting on her knees and scrubbing the vomit from her carpet. Surprisingly, cleaning it up didn't make her as sick to her stomach as she thought it would. But afterwards, the smell still lingered in her room.

Scrunching up her scale-covered nose, she shuffled through her bag and pulled out a stick of incense and her holder along with some matches. After lighting it she opened her window and door, letting the smell circulate around her room as she stood on her balcony.

After letting half of the stick burn down, she went back inside and put the stick out before putting it away to save it for another time. Amaya then made sure her door and window were closed, along with her curtains. She sat on the edge of her bed and looked at her even larger feet and the claws on the tips of her toes. Then pulling her hands from the hoodie pocket she held them out and turned them over a few times to get a good look at them.

Her body shook and she closed her eyes to block the sight of them out. Okay, so far she could deal with the feet but... her hands would take a LOT of getting used to. The first change it had kind of been the other way around.

Slowly she removed the large hoodie and her white nightshirt, setting them down on the bed so she could get a good look at her torso. Most of her front was still untouched by the scales, save for a few spots here and there. Though now her shoulders were coated in them, along with the backs of her arms which seemed to have collected even more. Shuddering, she lifted a hand to feel at the spikes that generated from the base of her skull all the way down her spine.

She shook again and quickly jerked her hand away. Now, she knew that she had a longer tail now since she had felt it move around and the pain that she had gone through felt like it was huge... or at least to her anyway. Taking in a deep breath she closed her eyes and mentally tried to prepare herself. Green eyes opened again and she turned her head around to look at her new tail.

"Holy sh-" Instinctly she jerked her head away too fast, a hand reaching up quickly and covering her mouth with a palm. Don't throw up... don't throw up... After sitting for a good few minutes unmoving, she finally dropped her hand back down, her body still shuddering. From the quick glance she had gotten it looked just like an iguana's tail. That... that wasn't THAT bad. She actually liked them and had always thought they looked cute.

First things first before she looked at her legs. With a few more deep breaths, she stood up shakily and grabbed a new pair of pajamas, throwing them on the bathroom counter.

Upon entering the bathroom she could hear her long claws clicking on the tile and winced while starting a nice warm bath. Removing her pants, she looked at the scales that covered her legs and gradually got less abundant at her waist. Even... down there was covered in scales. Ugh.

Amaya turned and leaned on the bathroom counter, keeping her eyes down at the sink. Okay... now for her face... It... couldn't be that bad... right? Slowly, she forced her eyes to travel upward.

... Wow. She was expecting a lot worse.

The only spots that had more scales were the circular patches on her cheeks and around her nose and eyes like a mask. From what the rest of her looked like, she was expecting her entire face to be covered.

Even though she didn't think it was that bad, she couldn't look at herself for long and quickly hopped into the tub when the water was ready.

Amaya found it a lot harder to lay on her back, and ended up sitting up while she washed or laying on her stomach with her front turned to lean up against the sides.

After washing herself (and getting the excess skin that had peeled off) she dried off with more difficulty then she would have thought. Her long claws kept either accidently scratching herself or ripped through the towel. Once that was all over with she put on her undergarments with little difficulty. Her bra as a little uncomfortable due to the few spikes under it, but a few poked holes later and she felt perfectly fine.

Her pants seemed to be fine as well, though she had to wear them really low in her oppinion. The base of her tail was too thick to cut a hole for it. Sighing, she attempted to put on her shirt. Thankfully most of her clothes were rather baggy so the spikes on her back weren't bothered. The only set back was that her large hands had a hard time getting down the narrower sleeves and she had to concentrate and be extra careful of her claws so she didn't rip the fabric.

Once all this was finally done, she fell back onto her bed and immediantly regreated it.

"Ow! Gah, dammit." Amaya cursed while rolling over onto her stomach. Even if it was on a soft comforter the feeling of her tail being squashed along with the soft spikes into her back actually kind of hurt, especially since they were still sore.

Grumbling, she lay on her stomach and crossed her arms under her pillow while resting her head on it with her head turned to the side. Most of her blankets had been abandoned, tossed to the floor now that she highly doubted her new claws would agree to having something tearable drapped over her.

Despite the ache in her body and the emotional distress in her mind, Amaya quickly fell asleep. She was exhausted...

Ever See An Iguana Blush?
(Amaya bumps into Chubbs at the cafeteria)

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs was visiting the cafeteria late. The recent news, upsets, and shocks had him sleepy alot less than he should be. He sat at a table near the food counter, so he didn't have to walk far. He had three books on the table, one he was reading slowly, his head leaning on an arm.

Flicking through the pages of the book with his injured hand, he glanced down at the picture of the giant grizzly roaring with salivating teeth. He pondered the face, trying to get the idea that he may look like that. With a sigh, he broke a piece of cake off his plate and ate it, licking his fingers.

Amaya Vaughan
It was late, Amaya was more awake then she needed to be due to sleeping almost all day, and even though the thought of keeping herself locked up in her room for the remainder of the night sounded really pleasing... it had been an entire day and she hadn't eaten a single thing. So after putting on a baggy shirt, a pair of pants and once again; the hoodie Chubbs had let her borrow so she could hide her tail and hands she made her way silently out of her duplex and towards the cafeteria.

Thankfully it was kind of late, the sun already begining to set. The food selection would be kind of sparse, but hopefully the population of islanders inside would be even sparser.

Amaya paused at the cafeteria doors to look inside, lifting the hood she wore to look through. Low and behold, there sat Chubbs right by the food line. s**t.

Cursing her bad luck, the girl paced around a little outside to weigh her options. She didn't get to think much before her stomach reminded her audibly that she hadn't eaten anything all day. Letting out a heavy sigh she stood at the door and put a long, clawed hand on the handle of the door before pushing it open and walking inside... though the hood was still up over her face, Chubbs would undoubtedly know it was her anyway.

The second her large foot touched the tile it resounded through the silent cafeteria with a 'click' of her claws. Amaya winced. Busted.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubs slowly turned the page of the book. The information would really go in one ear and out the other for him. He couldn't remember alot of things at times, specially names. The page opened to feeding habits of brown bears, Chubbs pondered now what they actually hungered for.

With a click in the cafeteria, Chubbs twisted his head to look up beneath the brim of his hat. Someone was at the door and clothed up plenty. If he knew any better, he swore that hoodie was... his. He smiled lightly and sat up a bit, waving his hand he was just leaning on. Amaya was here, and hidden under his large sweater. it made him blush thinking a girl was wearing his top.

" G'day hun"

Amaya Vaughan
"Hey..." Amaya replied with little enthusiasm even though she was actually glad to see Chubbs. He was a nice guy and knew how to make her laugh.

For a few moments she stood by the door, her hands in the sweater and her head down. She was content to just stand there all day until her stomach gave an audible growl. Stupid need to eat...

With a sigh she walked over to the food counter, her larger feet in plain view since she really didn't have a way of hiding them. After grabbing a bowl of salad in silence, she walked over next to him and set the bowl down on the table rather awkwardly with her new large hand.

"Sorry about not returning your sweater... kinda been using it a lot lately." She forced a tiny laugh and sat down, manuvering herself so that her tail could hang down the back opening of the chair.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked at his book, and checked the page number before closing it. Like he would remember it anyway, female company basically stomped on his memory. He shuffled his seat forward and couldn't help but notice that she was different. Her hands and feet were anyway, he remembered her feet, made him blush thinking it was other reasons he had remembered. She certainly had changed, and Chubbs guessed she had been using his hoodie to cover up, like she was now.

He didn't want to make her uncomfortable, she probably felt that anyway. He decided for now to obscure the fact he noticed the subtle differences. Picking up his fork in his bandaged hand, he picked at his cake.

" It's.. it's ah fine, I don't mind... I umm, feel almost flatered"

Chubbs tried to hide his face a bit, as he nibbled his cake and went red in the cheeks.

" Be, besides... you need it to... well.. keep warm"

Amaya Vaughan
"Flattered?" Amaya blinked in surprise and looked over at him, the hood lifting up slightly to barely reveal her changed features so she could look at him. Giggling slightly, she stabbed at her salad and pushed it around with her fork while trying to ignore her stomach's cry for food.

After taking a bite from her salad and swallowing it, she noticed the bandage on his hand and jumped. "Oh my god, what happened to your hand?!" Green eyes looked up at him past her scales and the shadow created by the hood, though even despite all that you could tell they were filled with concern.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blinked up at Amaya, he was a little surprised she jumped up like that. He tried to reach over nervously, not of how her hand looked, just that he was shy, and take her hand. He tried to bring her back down to her seat, it'd been a little while since he'd hurt it, he felt it wasn't something to be so worried about.

" It's, o- okay, really umm.. I ah.. just hurt it.. is all"

He tried to comfort her with a couple of pats on her hand

" Please.. umm, ya salad's gonna evolve.. if ya don't eat it"

He slipped his hand to rest on his book, and switched to eating with his left

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya frowned, but sat down as she was told and pushed around her salad a bit. "Well, the staff didn't do it did they?" After eating a forkful of salad she reached a hand up and pulled her hood down, but didn't look at him. If the man had the courage to pat her extremely large hands then the look of her face probably wouldn't make him jump... too much.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked up at her with a smile, only to be confronted by the new changes to her face. She had changed, it was noticable now. He sighed lightly, still mad at the staff here for what they had done, but he smiled anyway, at least for Amaya.

" No.. no really, I ah, well I spoke to em on the intercom thing... and well..I asked bout well .. well what I was gonna be.. and.. umm.. what you were gonna be"

Chubbs blushed a bit again, and hoped she wasn't mad at him for butting in.

" I well umm .. I thought ya might want to know.. form me or something.. , I got mine.. then the smeghead said ya were a hamster... I kinda got mad at him for that. And well other things... ya know .. what they are doing.. so I swore at him."

Chubbs rubbed the bandanges on his hand as he recalled the event that happened. Then he blinked and looked up.

" Well umm... it's well ya know... obvious ya not a hamster...and he was being a jerk. I - I didn't mean to.. sticky beak or anything.. I just wanted to help.. ya out. I ... I well put my fist through the intercom"

Chubbs lowered his head, trying to hide his face, feeling a little embaressed

Amaya Vaughan
"A hampster?" Amaya snorted past a mouthful of salad, but smiled afterwards regardless. "I'm not mad at you for asking... actually I'm pretty surprised you'd do something like that for me." She looked at him, the smile genuine. "Even though I know what I am now, it really means a lot to me for you to have asked."

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs brightened in redness, almost wishing he was a turtle to tuck his head away, he instead pulled his hat lower over his face.

" Aww, it's nothin.. really...just.. well want to help, where i ah .. can"

He took a chunk of his cake and chewed on it. Had to admit this place had some decent food available. He peeked up a bit under his brim and smiled shyly in return.

" Wait.. let me guess... you got the beautiful mermaid serum... oh um wait... no... the...ravishing raptor serum.... oh.. no!.. better.. the sexy snake one?"

He smiled a little, hoping it'd make her laugh

Amaya Vaughan
It was cute how shy he was. Amaya smiled as she munched on her salad, going wide-eyed at Chubbs' 'assumptions'. Beautiful? Ravishing? Sexy!? Holy crap... Even though it was just a joke... she... well... ah, s**t.

Amaya laughed nervously, looking down as her cheeks turned a bright red. No one had ever given her those kind of compliments before. Not even if they had been joking.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs grinned a little cheekily. It felt a little better that someone else was blushing besides him, and it looked nice with her green. He finished his cake with a light hearted chuckle, picking the crumbs up with a finger.

" I ah... well the look on your face just now. Heh, I wouldn't mind it framed"

He smiled again, lifting his hat some more, " coming out of his shell" so to speak.

Amaya Vaughan
This only made Amaya blush more and her nervous laughter resume as she pushed around her salad with the fork between her thumb and forefinger, her other fingers curled into a fist to keep them out of the way.

After a bit her blush deminished to just a light pink and she finally got the courage to look up, though at her salad and not Chubbs. She was still too embarassed by his compliments.

"Uh... I... Actually, I'm pretty sure it's a green iguana. My tail is a dead giveaway." She gave another nervous laugh, the tail hanging from the chair behind her motionless.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked her over, then leaned a little bit to his side. He wanted to see the tail for himself, but he decided against it, and sat back. He figured a girl hates you staring at her backside, why would it be any different to a tail? Chubbs watched her play with her salad, looking as though other things were on her mind. He leaned on the table some, looking to her.

" Not umm, hungry.. or for salad... or umm.. is something up?"

Amaya Vaughan
"Huh? ... Oh." Amaya took another bite of her salad and ate it before speaking up again.

"Well... after I changed the first time it wasn't that bad. My hands and feet were bigger, but beyond that it wasn't that bad... but now my hands and feet are even bigger then they were before. Kinda makes me naucious." She paused for a moment, glancing up at him and then back again. "That and I haven't felt very well since I... changed last. I ended up vomitting and fainting afterwards."

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs tried to keep a brave face in it all, but he was worried about her, he didn't want it to show, he wanted to keep her happy. He reached over shyly and patted her hand.

" I can't .. well begin to ah.. understand what it's like. I will soon I guess, and well.. umm maybe then I will. Just well..."

Chubbs sighed, not from sadness, he was just trying to find something to help, to make her feel a bit better.

" You just.. well you use me... well what I - I mean is ya just think, that' no matter.. umm how I look... Chubbs looks worse"

He tried for a smile, a little one. In the back of his mind he new he'd be horrible and she at least might look okay still.

" If ya hungry.. I umm... I could make a batch of umm Chubby chilli?"

Amaya Vaughan
"I hope you never have to know what it's like. It seems a few people have been here for a long time and nothing is happening to them... so maybe you'll get lucky." Amaya smiled up at him and gently squeezed his hand after he patted it, making sure to avoid her claws. Despite how big the man was compared to her, her hands were a lot bigger then his. She then let go, her hand having been shaking slightly.

She gave a small laugh, personally thinking he looked a lot better then her... but it was his way of trying to make her feel better, so she went with it. "As much as I'd love to try some... I'm not sure if I can stomach it. I'm pretty much a herbivore now and can only eat things that are around room tempature... but thank you."

Amaya tried to give him a reassuring smile as she pushed around her salad some more and started to finish it off.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blushed lightly as he took her hand in his injured one and patted it with the other. She seemed to like the contact last time they spoke, he thought it might help some and stop her shaking. His own though were another matter. He nodded at her, then looked at her salad. It was a pitty she couldn't get to taste his chilli, he liked cooking, specially for others. He thought he might have to adapt and think of something for her to eat, He could get some ideas from cook books.

Thinking about how she changed to a herbivore made him think of the animals he would become. The were pretty big meat eaters, could it be he would crave meat as well?

" I - I ah recon i'll be eatin alotta meat myself probably... but .. umm.. hopefully i'll still like cake"

Amaya Vaughan
"Meat?" Amaya looked up at him. "So uh... they told you what they're turning you into?" She kind of wanted to know, but didn't want to ask directly in case it was a touchy subject with him. It had been to a few other people.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs didn't seem to mind at all really, people would know eventually, or at least, he'd have to explain the odd look to him. Reaching over with his uninjured hand, the other still holding Amaya's, he shifted his reading material closer for her to see. A book on bears, one on tasmanian devils and tigers, and the third on wolverines, all pretty thick with knowledge.

" Have a guess?"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya looked at all the books, the fork she was using hanging out of her mouth slightly as she thought. Why would he have so many different books if they told him straight up what he was going to be? Her brow furrowed and she looked at each one before removing the fork from her mouth and looking up at him. "A bear?"

He was certainly big and brawny enough to be a bear... a bear wasn't that bad, either. Kinda like a teddy bear.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled lightly, he kinda figured she would say that, but he was sure she picked it for good reasons.

" Well... actuall.. supposedly umm all three"

He kept a small smirk on his face, knowing the news would certainly be a bit of a shock, but that she shouldn't worry.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya's eyes widdened and she looked from him to the books. A mix of a bear, wolverine, and either a tasmanian devil or a tiger? Oh my god... they could do that now? She went to say something obvious like 'sorry', but knowing that smirk on his face he was probably trying to keep the topic light-hearted... But still, she didn't know what to say even though she looked worried.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, noticing she was speechless. He looked from her to the books again, and blinked, realising one had two animals as a topic.

" Oh ah, yeah.. they said the devil one... heh trust the mad b*****d to ah.. give me the part serum of a waner brothers cartoon.. umm character.. that well eats everything"

He looked backed to Amaya with a slight grin

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya managed to crack a small smile. "Yeah... well... at least the animals that they picked arn't... y'know... really different. Like a tiger, fish, and an insect or something." She tried to reassure both of them. The combiation wasn't... that bad. All of them were mammilian at least.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs nodded and sighed slightly, knowing she was right. HE really could have wound up completely freaked to the gills. There was need for trying to do something like that. HE was an expirimental though, The effects weren't going to be certain

" I'm glad it wasn't.. well a pig... I just felt that would been mean"

He looked down at her hand, checking out the her fingers and scales.

" Umm.. sorry, ya can take ya hand.. if ya like.. just thought ya um.. well liked to be warm heh"

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, they have a knack for being mean. I know one lady here that's terrified of snakes... give you two guesses to what she's turning into." Amaya then blinked and looked at her hand. "Oh! Uh..." Blushing a little, she removed her hand from his and put it back into the pocket of the hoodie.

She then finished the last bites of her salad and lifted up the hood to the sweater once again. The air conditioning seemed to get to her a lot quicker now. Her eyelids started to sag slightly and Amaya wished she could shiver, but knew that cold-blooded animals couldn't... all they did when they were cold was get lazy and tired.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled a little at her blush, she was a little shy bout things, but not near as bad as him. He figured she misunderstood him about the hand.

" Just meant , ya know.. ya mighta wanted ya hand back, and umm, I thought I mighta been stoppin ya"

He watched her pull her hood up and realised how late it was.

" Heading back to ya room?"

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, I'd better. I can't stay in the air conditioning for long." Amaya stood up, her claws clicking on the tile floor. "Sorry about borrowing your sweater so much." She gave a nervous laugh and picked up her bowl with both hands, her long fingers wrapping around it. Despite how big they were, it was harder to hold stuff with them when she wasn't used to them yet... that and they were still a little sore.

After bussing her dish and silverware, she walked back over and gave Chubbs a small hug, her hands still making it a little awkward. "I'mma go get some shut eye... thanks for everything and take care, 'kay?" She smiled slightly and turned, leaving the cafeteria and heading back to her duplex for some basking and sleep.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs was surprised by the hug, and gave her a hug back, blushing lightly.

" It's um fine.. ya can look after my sweater for me"

He smiled and as she left, he looked to his books, grabbed then and stood, jogging after her to catch up and walk her home.

Motherly Peptalk
(Amaya meets up with Greer at the cliffs)

Quote:
Greer sat in her tree on the cliffs, for once not watching the sky. Instead, she was making an effort to sketch one of the local parrots, to see if she could branch out with her drawing skills before she lost them all together. She was finding that animals with internal skeletons could be rather tricky.

Quote:
Amaya had been wandering the jungle for awhile, having spent most of her day inside her duplex she was restless and had to get out. Hopefully the foliage was thick enough and the jungle was large enough that she wouldn't bump into anyone... though normally that always seemed to be the case nowadays. The island was small and getting kind of crowded, but oh well. Make due with what you have. Her large feet fell silently as she walked, for once her claws not clicking on any man-made tile or pavement. She still wore the large hoodie Chubbs had given her, large hands hidden inside the pocket in the front but the hood down. That was another reason she couldn't stay inside, the sunlight felt extremely good on her scales and even though most of her was covered up, the rays on her face and head made her relax. The young girl didn't even realize she headed directly towards the cliffs... probably because it was a place she seldom went to.

Quote:
She didn't hear a thing, but her hawk eyes noticed even the tiniest movement, so Greer found herself staring at the edge of the jungle foliage a full thirty seconds before the figure came into view. Not recognizing the clothing, she stayed at her perch, putting her field notebook away in a small bag as she spoke. "Hello?"

Quote:
Greer's voice snapped Amaya from her daze and she jumped slightly, her tail giving a quickly lash towards the sound. Wait... was that Greer's voice? Green eyes scanned the cliffside, finally spotting her mother figure among them. Well... she'd had to see her sooner or later and Greer had gone through the second change already anyway... she wouldn't react too badly, would she? Maybe she'd even give her a peptalk like she had last time. Hesitantly, she walked over and forced a tiny smile. "Hi... Greer." Her large hands remained hidden in the sweater, but the new scales on her face and her huge clawed feet were in plain sight.

Quote:
Greer's eyes widened for a moment, realizing it was Amaya and seeing the changes she'd gone through. "Sweetheart!" she gasped, sliding quickly to the ground and wrapping her adoptive daughter up in a hug.

Quote:
Amaya graciously leaned into Greer, wanting nothing more to cry into her but lately she had been unable too. The soreness and exhaustion was just now starting to completely dissapear from her change. Hesitantly she pulled out her hands from the hoodie and hugged her back with one, her palm almost completely spanning the width of Greer's back. The feeling was alien and scary, but eventually she would end up having to get used to it anyway. Luckily the spikes on her back didn't hurt nearly as much as they did before, so when they were pressed down slightly by the hug it didn't bother her very much.

Quote:
Greer rested her head on Amayas, smothing her hair. "How are you doing?"

Quote:
"Alright, I guess." Amaya turned her head so her voice wasn't muffled, though she was still speaking into her shoulder as she rested on it. "I'm not as sore anymore and I can kinda eat now..." She let her eyelids droop, calming under Greer's comfort.

Quote:
Not that she really wanted to hear the answer, but the woman had to know how long Amaya had been going through this without her there to help. "How long since you changed?"

Quote:
"Two or three days, I think. I've been sleeping a lot so I don't really know." Amaya answered honestly.

Quote:
Greer felt like an a**. "I'm sorry hon. Next time hunt me down right away, okay? You shouldn't have to do this alone."

Quote:
"Don't be sorry, it's alright. Hargun helped me a lot." Amaya smiled slightly, letting her large hands hang by her sides. Even though she had developed muscle since she had changed, the weight of them at the end of her arms was still too different to her to hold them up for very long. Come to think of it, she haden't seen Greer around the duplex's lately... wonder why...

Quote:
Releasing her charge, Greer sat down and patted the ground next to her. "I'm glad the artiste could help you out, but I'd still like to be useful. I'm sorry I haven't been around town much but, well, I'v kind of been avoiding people."

Quote:
Amaya took a seat next to Greer, pulling her legs to her chest and wrapping her arms around them. Though her hands remained unlocked, hanging above the ground without touching each other and her feet were still pivoted so only the balls of her feet touched the ground. "Why's that?" She looked up at her adoptive mother, having just wondered about that.

Quote:
She sighed, not wanting to admit this to Amaya. As the parental figure, she was supposed to be strong. "I...I lost my temper last week and screamed my head off at Jamal and that actor fellow. Now I'm being a coward and hiding in the woods instead of going and apologizing about it. They didn't deserve it, and I feel horrible, but, well, I just lost control."

Quote:
Greer? Loose her temper? The woman didn't even have a temper... or at least what she saw of her. "Oh, I see..." Amaya didn't know what to say beyond that since Greer knew that she should applogize. She shifted her weight slightly, her tail manuvering about behind her and swishing through the leaves before settling down upon finding a comfortable position. "Well... everyone is about to blow up at least once, sooner or later..."

Quote:
Greer shrugged. "Yes, Sean said that too, but prior to this I'd never even really been angry before." Not wanting to worry the girl with the more violent bits of the story, the entomologist laughed and made an effort to cover up with a joke. "Dear me, it seems that becoming a hawk is actually bringing me closer to human normalcy!"

It was a lame attempt to distract her companion from asking more questions, but she hoped it worked.

Quote:
Amaya gave a small laugh. "Well, prior to this you've never been trapped on and island and turned into an animal before." She leaned her head down to rest her chin between her knees, glad to be in Greer's company.

Quote:
"Hmmm..." Greer made a show of thinking about this. "...yes, you're probably right. It's the sort of occurance that would stick in the mind. So, how are you holding up with the changes besides stealing sweatshirts so I don't recognize you?"

Quote:
"Okay, though things could be better of course." Amaya gave a tiny shrug, not really wanting to talk about herself but Greer was probably just worried about her. "Sleeping is a little strange since I can't lay on my back... and shirts are kinda hard to put on, though your probably familiar with that." She frowned, knowing that long feathers were probably incredibly hard to deal with.

Quote:
Greer cocked her head, not quite understanding the clothing issue. "Youre hands make it hard?"

Quote:
"Yeah." Amaya held up one of her hands. "The sleeves are kinda hard and my... claws rip the fabric sometimes. They have to be baggy shirts, too or else my spikes get pressed down and it's really uncomfortable." She leaned her head down a little and moved her short hair enough so the few spikes from the base of her skull could be seen until they vanished down the baggy sweatshirt she was wearing.

Quote:
Greer smiled sympathetically and patted Amaya's shoulder. "I'm sorry. Perhaps you could alter your clothes in some way to make them easier to put on? That's what Emelyn did for me with my shirt." She raised her arms, revealing the row of snaps down the sides of her top.

Quote:
Amaya blinked and looked down at the straps. "Hey, that's neat." She gave a small smile, having been unable to muster anything more then that ever since she changed again. "I'll have to do that once I can work my hands better."

Quote:
"I could talk to Em about making you up some clothes if you'd like. I'd do it but my sewing skills are limited to button attachment." Greer knew how much better you felt when you could do the little things like dressing and eating semi normally again, and wanted to help Amaya to feel more like herself as quickly as possible.

Quote:
"Thanks, I'd like that." Amaya kept the smile, only knowing Emelyn by that one instance after Ambrose changed. That and she didn't feel really up to comfronting many people right now, especially not to ask for new clothes.

Quote:
Frowning at the quiet of a girl who had been quite cheery a few days ago, Greer decided to fall back on to her mother hen mode she'd learned from her own mother. "Did you say you haven't been eating?"

Quote:
"Not as much as usual... after I changed I ended up getting sick and fainting. My stomach was kinda upset for the first day, and after that the sight of my hands almost made me unable to eat... It's getting better, though." She tried to make it sound casual, not wanting to worry the mother bird more then she had to.

Quote:
Greer snorted, not having any of the young lizard's mollification. "You need to eat. I'll go get you food, but you NEED to eat. Feeling healthy makes the whole change that more bearable."

Quote:
"I know, I know." Amaya frowned and raised a brow, Greer sounding moreso like her mother then she ever had before. "It's alright, I can get it myself and eat... just takes me a little while." At the moment she wasn't really that hungry, having eaten an apple from the cafeteria before coming out to wander.

Quote:
Greer smiled ruefully, mussing Amaya's hair. "Sorry. I'm bad at this worrying over others thing. I don't know when to stop."

Quote:
"S'ok." Amaya let her hair be ruffled, the raven strands going every which way. She didn't bother to muss it back down, having never really cared what her hair looked like.

Quote:
She desperately wanted to cheer her young charge up, but couldn't think of how to do it. Could she really tell her everything would be alright, now that she herself didn't really believe it? Putting an arm around Amaya's shoulder's, Greer sighed. "Worried about the future?"

Quote:
Amaya leaned into Greer, resting her head on her shoulder. "I try not to think about the future or even the day after... just live by the day, I guess."

Quote:
Greer nodded, having currently chosen that path herself. "We have each other, after all."

Quote:
"Exactly." She closed her eyes, which recently had been rather common for her... it helped her 'shut out' the world in a strange sense.

Quote:
Worry rose in Greer's throat. "You'd tell me if there was anything I could do to make things better, wouldn't you?"

Quote:
Amaya opened her eyes and looked up at Greer, surprised at the sudden tone of her voice along with the question. "Of course, why?"

Quote:
"Because you're upset and I want you not to be, but I don't know how to fix it." When in doubt, Greer fell back on honesty.

Quote:
"Oh..." Amaya sighed and raised her hand to smooth her hair down with her long, thin fingers. "I don't even know how to get my mood up right now, even though I want to... I guess I'll get back to my normal self once I'm used to... all this." She gestured with her hands. "Don't worry, I'll bounce back in a week or two." She smiled up at Greer. "I made a promise to my grandmother that I wouldn't get really depressed, so I won't."

Quote:
"Good." Greer returned the smile, tapping Amaya's nose with a finger. "You continue to be absolutely adorable."

Quote:
Amaya gave a genuine laugh. "Seems like everyone says that... dunno why."

Quote:
"I suspect it's because you are." It was good to hear the girl laugh, and it set Greer's mind at ease. "Even if you do have an odd taste in reading material."

Quote:
Amaya snorted and looked at her with false anger. "Heeey, you dissin' my Johnny The Homicidal Maniac comics? Everyone loves senseless gore!" She stuck out her large, pink tongue in jest. A lot of people couldn't find the humor in JTHM, thinking it all stupid when there was actually thought and a plot involved to all the killings.

Quote:
"If you want senseless gore, you should watch some of my favorite old B-movies. It's a good thing they were in black and white, or else the use of ketchup would be really obvious." Greer teased, havng nothing against the specific series, just not being a comic book person in general.

Quote:
"B-movies?" Amaya asked, wondering what they were. Black and white movies had never bothered her, some she actually liked.

Quote:
"Yeah, you know, the old horror and sci-fi classics with special effects, plots, and acting so bad they end up funny." Greer frowned, cocking her head. "Surely you've seen some?"

Quote:
"I know of them, but no-" Amaya shook her head. "I haven't seen any. Probably the closest I've been to that would be Evil Dead or something."

Quote:
"Ooo, Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi. Wonderful men!" Evil Dead certainly wasn't old, but it was B enough to be a cult classic. "I'll have to remedy this gap in your film education at some point.

Quote:
"Awsome. I liked Evil Dead, if they're like that then I probably would love watching them." Amaya smiled, her mood upping a bit.

Quote:
Greer nodded, standing and offering Amaya a hand up. "They certainly share the cheese quality. Care to lure me back to civilization?"

Quote:
Reluctantly Amaya took Greer's hand and stood up, hating the feeling of her hand being bigger then a grown adult's. "Sure." Smiling, she turned and started to head back towards the duplexes.

Quote:
"Thanks Amaya. Goodness knows what I'd do without you." Greer grinned, giving the girl's hand a friendly squeeze as they trooped back through the green.

Quote:
Amaya cracked a smile, squeezing Greer's feathered hand back gently as they walked towards the duplexes. She tried to make small talk as they walked back, mostly asking how Mister Dude was doing and such since she was pretty sure the two were an item. But most of the walk was in silence until the building was in front of them.

Quote:
Greer stopped, taking in a shaky breath before walking on towards the cafeteria and potential meetings with people she'd wronged. Apologies had to be made.

"So, Amaya, do you like tea...?"

Quote:
"Tea...?" Amaya blinked, then shrugged. "Yeah, I suposse so... how come?"

Quote:
Greer tugged the girl towards the communal food spot. "I dunno, I've just always found it calming. And if there's one thing we need at a time like this, it's a little dose of zen."

Quote:
"Ah." Amaya smiled and let herself be lead towards the cafeteria, using her free hand to put up the hood... just in case.

Spending Time With Family
(Amaya encounters Ian after his 50% change and learns that she's gained a family)

Ian Campbell
Ian made it to his door a little awkwardly still trying to get used to his hooves. However when he reached to grab his doorknob he came across a rather embarassing dilemma. He was having trouble grabbing onto the round doorknob. Frowning he tried to grab it again, but his fingers - which were seeming to stick together in two's like the Vulcan hand salute from Star Trek. "Dammit!" he cursed loudly, he needed to eat and couldn't do it from stuck in his duplex. "Dolts...." He gave the door a kick and was surprised when it didn't hurt with his hardened hoof.

Ian glanced towards the intercom, he would probably have to call to get assistance out of his duplex. That would be very embarassing to him so he tried to grab it again his eyes narrowed angrily.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya bolted upright at the sounds of screams and... roaring from the duplex above her. "Oh god... Ian!" Eyes widdening she threw on some clothes and a sweater before running out her room and practically tripping down the stairs. After all, he had changed around the same time she had before.

She stopped at his door and knocked with her lareg knuckles. "Ian? It's Amaya, are you alright?!"

Ian Campbell
Ian was more grateful thananyone could imagine when he heard Amaya outside. "Thank ye gods," he murmered letting go of what hold he had of the doorknob. "Amaya? Could thou please come in. The door is unlocked." He was still speaking in the formal speech..what had Cernunnos done to him? He stepped back away from the door almost falling backward on his hooves. But Ian didn't really want to alter his speech, it felt so...natural now.

Amaya Vaughan
Thou? Oh god, please don't let him go insane like Julian. Amaya gulped and with a little difficulty, opened the door. "Ian, are you alright? I heard you-" She stopped and stared at him, eyes wide. He had changed.

The fact that he had yet to see her changed didn't click in her mind, most of her exposed while she only wore the large sweater Chubbs had given her and a pair of tan pajama pants that were more like capris, so the scales coating her legs were painfully obvious along with her new hands and toes.

Ian Campbell
While Amaya was gaping at him, Ian was gaping at Amaya. Lots of scales covered her face and legs and he was startled. Clearing his throat he decided that food could wait. "Please, my home is thine. Come in." Well damn, if he weren't already enough of a sight, he was talking like some freak as well. Damn Cernunnos. This language was corrupting his mind. Ian, feeling a bit self conscious put his hands behind his back. There was no way of hiding his face or legs however. He sniffed the air, trying to smell for any signs that Amaya felt anything other than worry. Then with a sudden thought, Ian realized he was very glad for his 5'9" stature, it prevented his antlers from scraping the ceiling.

Amaya Vaughan
After their short (or long, Amaya couldn't tell) staring contest, she coughed and walked inside. Ian didn't look that bad... though his face was pushed out a lot, maybe even moreso then Ambrose's.

The young girl leaned up against his desser, letting her hands curl around the edge. It was no use in hiding them this time... she'd have to just get over it. Besides, Ian had lost more of his own face then she had. "So are you alright? I... heard you screaming..." She looked down and rubbed her arm with one of her enormous hands. "Did it... just happen?"

Ian Campbell
Ian was puzzled. He had been screaming? Probably, it was a very painful process. He noticed Amaya's hands. Long and scaly...lizard...his mind supplied for him. "When did the transformation overcome thee?" he asked. "Mine may have been minutes, or hours ago. Time seemed not to exist." He looked at his own arm, covered in shaggy fur. "I am no moose, I am assuming that the creature whose looks I now share is a deer, though as to what kind I am still left pondering. Not many deer have as shaggy hide as mine own." He himself sat on his bed looking at Amaya. At least she didn't have an elongated snout.

Amaya Vaughan
Man, he was talking weird...

"About two or three days ago, I think." Amaya replied, looking over at him. He still had his own eyes, which was good. You could still see Ian behind that snout. "Yeah... I'm pretty sure I'm turning into a green iguana." She forced her tail around into view before it hid behind her once more.

"So uh... your alright? I know I was really sore for almost two days after it happened to me."

Ian Campbell
"Ah," Ian said. "I have not been out of this home much, and when I have departed the security of my abode, I am usually in the jungle." His arm itched again...damned fur. He looked around quickly since the wall hadn't helped much before and decided on the corner of the dresser. He rubbed his arm along it, soothing the irritation of the itch. "A green iguana...art thou accepting of that reptilian identity?" Ian during his change had come into the idea that the animals which they were becoming was an identity that was shared with nature.

Amaya Vaughan
"I suposse so. I mean, I don't hate them or anything and I don't really have a choice in the matter." Amaya gave a tiny shrug. "What about you? You seemed pretty okay with becoming some kind of deer before." She looked at his hands and winced. So many people were loosing them... it would be like she was making up for their losses with her own gigantic digits.

Ian Campbell
Ian nodded slowly. Well, that was better than hating iguanas. "Deer are nice, but becoming an animal is rather eerie. It could be much worse however were I becoming something like an arachnid, or insect." Ian did not like insects. He noticed Amaya looking at his hands and gave a smile as much as his changed face would allow. "Methinks I will be needing a new doorknob..."

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah..." Amaya tried to force a smile, looking away from his hands and back up to his still green eyes. "Did you... wanna go to the cafeteria or something? Usually after it all happens ya get kinda hungry. Or I could go get you some food if you want."

Ian Campbell
No, I shall come." He interjected quickly. Staying in his duplex was the last thing he wanted to do, especially if he might not be able to leave again, he needed to get things to stock his little refridgerator. His stomach growled hungrily - and with more force than usual - Ian noticed. "I would not object to getting some apples to eat."

Amaya Vaughan
"Alright then, let's go." Amaya gave him a tiny smile and walked out the door, pausing so Ian could catch up before heading towards the cafeteria.

Ian Campbell
Ian nodded and followed Amaya shutting the door to his duplex behind him. He left his key inside and left it unlocked - he didn't want to go through the trouble of unlocking it as well as trying to open the door.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya ventured into the cafeteria silently, her long claws clicking on the tile floor. For now she didn't look around at all, figuring it would be easier to just walk in a grab her food then explain to anyone inside what had happened to both of them. She went down the food line, making a small salad.

Ian Campbell
Ian follwed Amaya into the cafeteria just as silently. He approached the food and gave it a quick look.. all he really wanted was apples, he could get some grass later. He went to the apples and took a *very* large helping. He could smell the apples and his mouth was watering. Since getting apples was faster than making a salad Ian chose out a place to sit in the corner.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya joined him in the corner, kind of glad he had picked it away from the door or food line just in case someone else she haden't seen decided to walk in. "So uh... how have you been lately?" She sat down next to him, taking a bite of her salad.

Ian Campbell
Ian chewed on an apple. He had been doing almost nothing the past few days.. "I have not done much. I was intending to visit Emerwyn soon, but may have to postpone that event in the case that I still be sore on the morrow." His apple lay heavily in his stomach - now that was odd... "Awen wanted me to give her a book. There is a new girl on the island as well. Her name is Joliette I recall... And thou?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs swung the door open to the cafeteria wide, looking towards the food trays, he was really hungry and couldn't wai. He slipped inside first though and held the door open for Joliette, force of habit for him to do.

Joliette Rigiel
"Thanks... So the darkroom is complete now at least should make it so I dont have to just leave film undeveloped" she said walking into the cafeteria with Chubbs once they arrived from the beach she didn't notice the pair in the corner right away when she got there

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, you might wanna take tomorrow off just to sleep and stuff. That's what I did." Amaya fiddled around with her salad. "And I know of Joliette. It seems Moreau has brought a few new people here, actually." She scowled and stabbed at her salad. "I've been alright... considering. Unlike a lot of people I couldn't handle the change as gracefully." Her smile was awkward and forced, though she didn't dive into the fact she had thrown up and passed out.

Upon hearing the door slam open her tail gave a quick lash towards the sound as her head snapped around to look at who entered. Chubbs and... Joliette. Aw crap.

Ian Campbell
Ian halted mid chew as two people entered the cafeteria. Joliette and...someone he didn't know, but that guy was huge. Ian tried to remain inconspicuous and finished chewing the bit of apple before swallowing. He sniffed the air - the big guy didn't have an oder that Ian's brain deemed threatening, but maybe his nose wasn't strong enough yet. He frowned. "Is that man Joliette is with new as well?" he asked. There weren't noticeable changes so probably, but he had to make sure. "And gracefully? What dost thou mean by that?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs made his way in, rubbing his hands gleefully at the thought of a nce big meal. He smeeled the food from across the room.

" That'll be umm good.. ya have to.. umm come show me ya ah pics"

Chubbs grabbed a plate and eyed the food along it, selecting some baked vegetables and a big helping of roasted beef and gravy, he nabbed a couple of dinner rolls, a knife and fork and headed for a table to sit. Hearing someone talking, Chubbs looked over and saw Amaya and another person talking and eating in the corner. Chubbs blinked when he saw him, no matter how many times he would see the changes he feared he'd never get use to it. Blushing slightly he waved to Amya to at least stop his initial shock and went about eating.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette wandered after him taking a tray she filled her own with a garden salad a couple samosas and veggie rolls and a glass of juice and headed after Chubbs to the table he chose, she glanced in the directions of hte voice and double took trying to keep a plesent expression on her face as she waved to the pair, Amaya had beent he one to tell her hte truth, regardless of this though, the new look startled her slightly and her mind dwelled on it for a moment as she sat to eat

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya nodded, speaking after she had swallowed. "His name is Chubbs... he's a nice guy though, so don't worry." She smiled, unphased and unbothered to see him. Joliette though... she haden't seen her changes yet. "And uh... well... I didn't exactly stay conscious after I changed and I got kinda sick."

Not wanting to dwell on the subject, she turned and waved one of her large hand at Chubbs. She kind of wanted him to join them... but on the other hand she was glad he was keeping Joliette occupied.

Ambrose Maurlias
The next day, Ambrose was feeling... at least partially better. Amaya had been right - after having some time to cool down, Angelina had come around, and seemed at least understanding of his actions. She was still overwhelmed - to say the least - but he saw hope.

She still wasn't ready to leave the duplex and meet the 'others', however, and Ambrose had volunteered to go to the cafeteria to get some food for her (and probably eat there himself as he wasn't quite sure how she would take his massive apetite for meat.)

Seeing that there were people (and familiar looking at least) there already, he first went though the lunch line for himself, getting piles of freshly made steaks before heading back to sit down at the table with a greeting to Amaya, Chubbs, Joliette, and Ian.... where he promptly did a doubletake at Ian.

He had changed again... drastically - just as much if not more so than himself. While he may not have been covered completely by fur like he had been, his face was stertched out into a short muzzle, and his antlers had grown to an impressive length.

Ambrose... cocked his head as he looked him over, and his stomach gave another kick, reminding him that he hadn't yet eaten today. At first, Ambrose didn't think much of this - it was normal for his early morning state to be hungry, and he picked up his utensils to slice his meat. The smell of the cooked steaks did indeed send his stomach clamboring for him to hurry... but that wasn't the only smell in the proximity - adn the vegetables on the plates of three of the people around him wasn't it.

It was then that a cold shudder passed down his back, setting his fur on end for a moment. It... couldn't be... no... he was jsut ungry was all and there was food in front of him. But... the thought of the conversation he had had earlier... abotu predators and prey.

Ambrose shoved a bite of meat into his mouth to quell the thought and appetite, hoping desperately that the thoughts didn't show in his eyes.

Finally, he spoke up, trying to avoid eye contact with Ian. "Hey, Amaya - I wanted to thank you again for the talk yesterday.." He smiled. "It really did help... and you were right about Angelina at least." He still hadn't seen Emelyn... and he knew he needed to....

Ian Campbell
Ian listend to Amaya nodding when appropriate when he heard the cafeteria door opened. Glancing over he spotted someone and stared, his mouth dropping open. A scent reached his nostrils and he became paralyzed with fear, his eyes becoming very wide. It took a few moments, but Ian finally recognized the person as Ambrose. He took deep breaths trying to calm his insticts down, surely Ambrose would not hurt him..he hoped...and prayed.

His mind had identified the smell as wolf....someone that could eat Ian. He needed to do something...Stop gaping,he told himself. That is horribly rude. "Morning Ambrose, Joliette." he greeted. "Hast the morning brought good tidings upon the both of thee?" Why the hell couldn't he stop speaking like that....he would have to try to speak normally....but perhaps after he persuaded himself that Ambrose would not eat him.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs started to eat into his delicious meal heavily, he always took big bites. Some people use to say he was being a pig and he was eating too fast, Chubbs just felt like his mouth was empty with the tiny bites people took.

Chubbs watch Ambrose walk into the room, he was something to look at, covered in fur as he was. He remembered the first time he met Ambrose and remembered to be delicate about staring so much. Chubbs didn't want to do what so others had done to him.

He gave Ambrose a wave and watched him sit with Amaya and the deer looking guy. Chubbs smirked a bit and looked to Joliette.

" This reminds me so much like high school"

Joliette Rigiel
"It finds me as well as can be expected Ian thankyou" she said with a smile she replied between bites across the distance between them... She watched him a moment... So different then the first time I saw him she mused remembering her first day there.

She looked at Chubbs when he spoke and chuckled "Aye, though those usually had more people... lets just hope they dont bring that many people here" she agreed then added

Amaya Vaughan
"Hi Ambrose." Amaya smiled, having caught that strange hesitance in his eyes when he looked at Ian. Oh no, predator and prey? Would it... would it really get that bad? Would they be driven to cannibalism? The very thought made her shudder. Green eyes looked over to Ian, having seen the feral fear on his face. She frowned sadly and wondered if anyone on the island was going to turn into something that ate iguanas.

"So uh... Angelina isn't as mad anymore? That's good." She tried to smile while taking another bite of her salad. "Talk to Emelyn yet?" Amaya glanced over at Chubbs and Joliette, feeling bad for the two groups to be so segregated.

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose looked over to where the Chubbs and Joliette were sitting, giving them a friendly wave and a smile. It only struck him after he had sat down whether the 'segragation' was due to familiarity.... or how developed they were.

Ambrose then swallowed as he caught a different whiff from Ian, Fear. His ears folded to the back of his head - was he having ... instinctual reactions..? No... no - it couldn't be. Ian must just be reaction... to his change! He hadn't seen him like this yet. That was all.

"I'm sorry... my appearance is probably rather startling to you" he winced. "I... changed not too long ago myself. I... hadn't seen you since the beach party - I wasn't aware you had changed as well." Ambrose had no idea that this was a recent development for him as well.

"I... I'm doing alright. Could be better.... but could always be worse." He gave a small smile. And why was Ian talking like that? He had always been rather... strange... what with that whole 'druid' thing he spoke of... but not THIS odd. Had he?

Ambrose shook his head to clear his thoughts and turned to Amaya with an apologetic look. "No... she' not. She's still scared, understandable. And not ready to come out and deal with things outside of the duplex quite yet. But better. I'm going to be bringing her some food when I'm done here. I just... felt awkward pigging out like I do in front of her." He scratche the back of his head.

As the subject turned to Emelyn, his tail tucked. "N...no. I havne't seen her yet...." To say nothing of the fact he hadn't made so much of an effort to even go see her yet at her duplex.

He followed her line of sight. "Do you think we should invite them over...? Or do you think it would be awkard...?" He gestured to the three of them, all after their second transformation.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs, couldn't help hearing the the conversation over the other table, he looked up from his meal from time to time, blushed and decided to talk to Joliette to avoid prying ears. He didn't know what Ambrose was worried about, Chubbs ate worse than him.

" Let me guess Joliette, you, umm were in the... hmm.. smart kids section yeah?"

He was trying to figure out where Joliette might fit in a school cafeteria.

Ian Campbell
Ian finally got his instincts under control and managed to look as normal as he could. Ambrose's ears told volumes and Ian knew he had to control his instincts or it could cause many problems. His own ear twitched a littleand he felt he needed to aplogize to Ambrose. "Yes, it has been awhile." his voice was soft...he needed to try to talk normally... "I changed earlier. Amaya found me right after and together we came here." Ian knew Ambrose thought he was strange, what with talking the way he was, Ian thought it strange as well. "It would be rude not to extend an invitation to dine with us. If they refuse, then what injury would be done to our own meal?" That sentence had managed to avoid using words like thee and thou, though the hrasing was still not what one would term as "normal".

Ian looked towards Joliette "I fear that that condition shall almost permanently become thee..er, you, trapped on the island as we all are." Damn, and he had been so close too.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette laughed turning her attention to Chubbs since he was speaking to her and the others seemed to be having their own conversation, besides that it kept her from staring at the changes the others had taken as well. "Actually no, I was in the eat outside under a tree with a camera on my lap section, though yes I was a good student" she told him

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, I can't blame her there and... despite everything, I'd love to meet her when she's ready to face everything." Afterall, if Ambrose loved this Angelina woman she had to be pretty nice... maybe she wouldn't even react that bad since she had seen Ambrose like he was before her.

Though upon hearing that he haden't visited Emelyn yet she gave a tsk before swallowing her salad. "I know you've been comforting Angelina and you don't want to but... your going to have to see her soon, Ambrose." Amaya looked up at him, her expression more worried for the love triangle then anything. "The longer you postpone it, the harder it's going to be to tell her and harder it's going to be for her to cope with it." She reached over and partially put her large hand on his, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Okay?"

Green gaze then shifted over to the other two and she laughed nervously with a nod. "Heh, yeah... Chubbs has seen me but Joliette hasen't... but I guess we all have to face it sooner or later, right?" She put on a smile and waved to the both of them, gesturing for them to join before looking back to Ian and Ambrose. "I wonder... what it's going to be like when we end up confronting new people when it's... all over..." Amaya frowned, knowing that it would be harder on both sides when someone new bumped into someone... 'complete'.

Ambrose Maurlias
One of Ambrose's ears turned to the side, a further sign of his finding Ian's speech patterns strange, but he said nothing, not even aware how much his ears were acting as signal flags to his thoughts.

"Earlier... by that you mean today? Oh, lord, I'm sorry, Ian. You must be quite sensitive to all of this then.." Maybe that's what the fear he smelled was.... that... must be it. The realistic side of him doubted it, thought.

Ambrose nodded to Amaya, between hasty bites of food. "And I'd love to introduce her to you. I promise I will soon, as soon as things settle down a bit with her. And... maybe after I speak with Emelyn... we'll see." his tail flicked back and forth a bit.

He swallowed and nodded at the chiding from his 'little sister.' "You know, maybe you should be the big sister sometime." He said with a wink. "But seriously, I know. It's not easy... but I know. I Know I need to be the one to tell her, too, so... I need to do so before word spreads.

Ambrose gave an agonized shrug. "I'm not sure.... maybe we could get it out of the way quickly, just jump out at them and say 'hi, welcome to the freakshow." He commented bitterly, his ears pointing back. "But seriously... I don't know how much more or less difficult it will be for new people to cope with seeing us like this... versus .. whatever we look like then. I know that given our progress, we will likely be some of the firsts to... finish."

Ian Campbell
Now it was time for Ian's ears to go back. "Yes, today."z He needed to apologize to Ambrose as well. "and my apologies for the way I reacted to th..you. It was most rude." He had to make more effort to be "normal". Ian had no clue about who Angelina was but he knew Emelyn and was able to guess a tiny bit about what was going on. And Ian definately did not want to hear about "finishing". With his hands the way they were he didn't want to change any further. The apples that were seeming to lye heavily in his stomach suddenly decided to bother him. He stood up unable to resist the heave that overcame him. He stood p and both his hands were on hte table supporting him. He wasn't vomitting, that his instincts told him...no this was different. He began to chew the partiallydigested apples letting his deer intincts take over entirely, that was disgusting. When he finally swallowed he looked sick. "Dammit...why me?..."

"That is a possibility. Very blunt, to the point. It could work."

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs kept peering over at the other table, he wasn't trying to stare, it's just the were together, and he felt a bit oucasted being where her was. Chubbs smiled to Joliette, he knew she was smart, but she sounded like she had a good time at her high school.

" Sounds like ya umm.. got the best spot in ah school"

Chubbs heard the talk over the other table, he was deffinately she about approaching them but it sounded like they wished to have two more there. Chubbs slowly stood up and grabbed his plate.

" Think we should .. umm.. well go.. say hello"

With that he walked toward the three, only to see the deer guy look like he was about to barf all over the table. Chubbs winced, seeing that would probably make his dash to the bathroom and he went a little pale. Then the guy didn't throw up and instead chewed. Oh boy... close call but. still... yuck.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette picked up her tray "Yes, lets, more fun as a group anyways." she smiled and got up following after him. she too saw Ian Poor guy I cannot say I envy him she thought to herself as she sat down "Hi Ambrosse and Amaya" she said looking more closely at Amaya, there was definetaly more green now then the first time she had seen her, but she didn't think she looked... bad, just ... different

Amaya Vaughan
"Big sister?" Amaya snorted with a laugh, gradually looking like the same cheerful girl before she had changed for the second time. "Even though I'd like to help you through it and even be there to make things a little smoother... I really feel you need to tell her alone. It'll give you freedom to vent without any interferance. Afterwards though, feel free to come to me if you need anything, alright?" She gave her 'big brother' a smile.

At the realization that she probably would be one of the first to finish she shuddered, but smiled a little at his joke. "Well, at least then it'll be over with, right? No more painful changes or fear of what might happen the next day besides awkward meetings and such." She tried to look at it in a postive light, no matter how little it was.

Amaya jumped a little when Ian started to heave. She was about to make sure he was alright but then something occured to her... the fact that deer and cows and things like that would regurgatate their food and re-chew it. Oh god. She had to look away, her face paling. "God... I'm sorry, Ian." She pushed the veggies around in her bowl with her fork, having suddenly lost her appitite.

"Hey Chubbs, Joliette." She smiled a little and waved her large hand a little to both of them.

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambose shook his head. "It... it's alright. Really. I've had worse reactions, and I've at least had some time to get... somewhat used to it myself now. It was harder when I still was newly chagned. But... I have to admit... I still somewhat feel like a stranger in my own skin now." He took several quick bites of food. "The fur covering me.... a different face in the mirror... I feel so ... out of place still. I know I'll get used to it... but in the meantime I still feel so strange... so...." He swallowed, the word was there, but he was almost scared to vocalize it. "so... inhuman. animal."

Ambrose cocked his head at he noise that Ian made, and then, with widening eyes, guessed at what had happened. The poor b*****d. At least He didn't have to deal with anything quite like that. Just... a penchant for meat.

"I... wasn't exactly being serious" Ambrose winced. "though... it is ONE way. I... ah.. .was speaking about that with Emelyn the other day - what IS the best way to tell - or not to tell others. We finally said that everyone's going to react differently. Everyone's here for different reasons, and thus there really IS no single good way that we could think of at least to tell people."

Ambrose smild to the pair as they came over. "Hi guys. YOu don't need to be strangers. Scales and fur aside - we don't bite." He winked.

Ambrose nodded to Amaya.. "You're right - I do need to do it alone. And I will. I promise you. You can kick my a** if you see me next time and I havent' spoken with her. Speaking of - we need to get back to your fencing lessons. Hope you've been practicing." He winked and clapped her on the shouler.

Ambroe glanced down at his wristwatch as he finished the last bite of food. "Yeep... Angelina's probably waiting for me. I need to go bring her breakfast, she's probably waiting." He stood up and smiled to the group.

"I'm sorry, I hate to eat and run, but I'm sure I'll see you all about!"

With a wave, he bussed his tray, piled an assortment of food onto another, and carried it out.

Ian Campbell
Ian still felt really sick from what had just occured. He looked at his plate of apples and the realization hit him that he would regurgitate and chew all his food for the rest of his life. That really hit a nerve and he started to shake. "I....I must go...sorry for any inconvenience....." He grabbed his apples and took care of his plate before dashing out the door hoping he would be able to get back in his duplex.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blinked as Ambrose left just as he arrived, sure he was busy with things but Chubbs wouldn't have minded the company. Then no sooner had he sat down then the deer guy dashed off out the door. Chubbs watched them go and sighed a bit, looking at his half eaten meal.

He looked up at Amaya, half expecting her to go now, maybe for the deer's sake. Chubbs hated being new, there was so much he didn't under stand or know and people he had to keep meeting. He just lowered his hat brim and leaned on the table with one arm, stabbed a potato with a fork and nibbled it.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette blinked watching the pair go "Good luck Ambrose" she said remembering the previous time she'd seen him "Bye Ian" she said as he departed, my that was the second time Ian had left before Joliette had had a chance, but, she figured he must have needed it. She looked at Chubbs curiously for a moment then to Amaya "How are you" she said not neccessarily focusing it was a lil unnerving unlike her first meeting with hargun who she thought was in costume

Amaya Vaughan
"Not as of late, sadly. But I'll get back to it soon, I promise... and I'll remember that whole 'permition to kick your butt' thing." Amaya gave a cheesy grin to Ambrose and waved as he left. "See ya Ambrose!"

Though upon watching Ian scramble out as well, her smile quickly faded. "Take care, Ian!" She frowned as she watched him go. Poor guy. With a sigh, she returned her attention to the two... now feeling very... naked? No, that wasn't the word... inhuman as Ambrose had called it. Like she didn't fit in with the two others sitting before her. An alien surrounded by humans.

Noting from Chubbs' reaction, she assumed what he was feeling. She flicked her tongue out to taste his emotions, now her senses even more pronounced. Amaya picked up a large range of feelings, her eyes widdening. Wow.

"Sorry about that, but Ambrose has a girl back at his duplex to care for and Ian just... went through the change a few hours ago. He's probably still a little tired and stuff." She smiled at the two, pushing around her salad.

"Oh y'know... good, considering. How about you two?"

Spending Time With Family
(Part 2)

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked up and finished off his potato, in one big bite, he chewd it before answering. He was glad at least Amaya stayed, he liked her, he couldn't have imagined taking the news about the island from anyone else.

" I'm.. ah.. umm okay.. bit sore from yesterday though... and ah a little tired from lack of sleep... been having unexpected visitors to my room.

Chubbs rubbed the back of his neck and then blushed, always finding his comments could be taken the wrong way.

" Oh.. ah.. what I ah.. mean is that umm Colche came in about.. umm four thirty and dragged me off to the beach.. I'd only got to bed about umm three hours earlier"

Joliette Rigiel
"Good, Theres another new person on teh island... I didn't have hte heart to tell her, least not alone.. She got defensive when I asked what brought her here... she thinks this is a camp for persons with mental disabilities" she sighed pushing away her plate after a couple more bites, she was full

She looked at Chubbs "I hope you are ok, you didn't have to carry the sink alone..." she said softly

Amaya Vaughan
"Awwww, that's so cute!" Amaya squealed with a grin. "She's getting much better. Normally she's scared of guys and not brave enough to visit others by herself... Though I am sorry about the lack of sleep." She laughed nervously.

"Oh no, another person?" She sighed, her shoulders slumping. "Well, if she got defensive over you just asking her... I really dunno how well she's gonna handle the truth. And as horrible as this may sound, I really don't know if I could handle telling her..." She started to finish off her salad. "What's her name and what's this about a sink?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blushed like crazy when Amaya said how cute it was that she came to drag him off. It was cute, Colche was just all cute, just it would have been cuter if she'd came later. Chubbs hid his face for now, but continued to talk.

" Ummm well ah.. her names Chana.. from what Joliette ah told me... she lives above me... I was gonna try to umm... maybe tell her"

Chubbs rubbed the side of his cheek, he wasn't that confident he could.

" Oh the sink.. ah I umm lifted a sink.. probably the ah wrong way..I'm feeling better, it's ok"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded "Yes, she found me taking photos of hte mountain today and I gave her a little tour, she arrived this morning... She had strange writing on her shirt, hebrew maybe?" she shrugged "Chubbs helped me take my darkroom sink from in front of Jamal's duplex where the gormless white-haired arse delivered all my equipment up to number 28" she seemed a lil iritable when she spoke her nickname for Sabin

Amaya Vaughan
"I doubt she'd believe you if you told her, Chubbs... normally someone who's changed at least once has to be the one to break the news. Otherwise they won't believe it if you don't have any poof. If I bump into her before someone else tells her I'll have to break it to her..." Amaya tried to smile, but it came out awkward... though she couldn't help but giggle a little at how easily Chubbs got embarassed.

"Darkroom sink? So... your making a dark room? That's pretty cool. Something to keep yourself occupied. I'd love to help if I can." An eyebrow then raised at the whole 'gormless white-haired arse' comment. She had a feeling she was talking about Sabin... wonder what had happened.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs woofed down a slab of roast in between conversations, he was particularily hungry. Chubbs agreed with Amaya, not that he didn't want to do it, he thought he would be really unbelievable.

" If you do tell her, ya, umm.. come see me after.. umm okay hun?"

Chubbs wanted to be there incase Amaya couldn't handle it like last time she told him.

" I've been, umm trying to ah find things to umm do.. round here. Kinda feeling useless... I helped out Joliette though"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette found she could't exactly watch Chubbs eat hte meat, it bothered her stomach so she simply just kept talking "I have yes, it's int eh duplex above mine, I've had no luck with anything else though, first hte git sends me a pile of clothing a could not and would not ever wear, and then he delivers my equipment clear across the village. You are welcome to come up some time Amaya" she smiled "I think we are all feeling a lil... out of place if nothing else Chubbs, dont worry about it" she smiled

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya gave a tiny smile and nodded to Chubbs, knowing that he was getting at the fact that she couldn't even tell him without bursting into tears. "Yeah, that feeling happens to a lot of people... theirs so much time now that you don't know what to do with. Most of my time has been spent sleeping, basking, or making dolls with what little material I have left over." She had finished a few ever since she arrived, one of an alligator and another of a regular ragdoll with shoelaces for hair.

"Jeeze, the staff is doing crap like that?" She looked at Joliette, surprised. "... Pardon my language but, danm. That's just childish." How old were they? Five? They put them on this ******** island, gradually turned them into animals, and pulled s**t like that? Something boiled up inside Amaya, causing her brow to furrow for both the fact she was angry and that the odd feeling was foreign to her.

Colche
"Hickory dickory dock, the mouse ran up the clock" The gentle voice of the dark haired girl rang in to the cafeteria as she pushed the door open. A book was open in ehr hands, the magical leap pad she had been given, it was the most amazing thing she had ever been given and it belonged to her completely "The mouse ran up the clock" she giggles turning the pages and pressing the buttons so she could mimic the song "The clock struck one, Ping!" she giggles again flickering the page over "The mouse ran down, diddily diddily, hickory dickory dock, tic toc tic toc." Her nose wrinkles in a sweet little grin as she looked up those big baby blue eyes bright and cheerful, of course upon spotting three people she knew she potterd over "Chuubs, Amaya, Joliette!" she giggles, she had rememberd all their names, she had a good memory for things after a fashion. Her tail twitched, she had changed in to a baggy tshiurt and a pair of panties, it was comfortable for ehr it let her tail, which was still a bit sore, hang over without getting caught or pressing against the base which was the sorest part.

She realised that only Chubbs had seen her recent change so she supposed she had better point them out to the others "tail" she stated turning around and showing off her wriggling fluffy stubb before sitting down. She had come in for some lunch but it could wait. She sat in a chair next to chubbs peeping up at the big guy with admireing eyes before turning to the others "very fuzzy now" she gigles, stating the obvious. She still clung to her happy ways, though she had gone through pain in her change she was still pleased as punch to be on the island, she had never felt safer.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs nodded with a bit of a frown, looking between the pair, he decided he could always come back later to eat, put his utensils down and pushed the dish aside. He leaned on the table and shook his head.

" Yeah.. I mean.. well, they already are well, ruining the lives of us yeah?... I umm wouldn't put it ah, pass em to be assholes"

Chubbs couldn't believe some of the suff they had down, and how he got so mad at them. He wanted to get back onto a cheerier side of things.

" You umm, make dolls?"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded "Yes, he did, that arse" she sighed and shook her head and then with a look towards Chubb and a smile ahd wondered too "Dolls? " she glanced towards the door and saw Colche and waved at the girl

Amaya Vaughan
As Colche entered, Amaya smiled and was about to say hello before the girl turned around and showed them her tail. She gaped. Colche had changed too?! Otherwise though, the girl was happy. She tried to force a smile for her sake. "Yes, Colche very fuzzy. Amaya has a tail too now. See?" She turned slightly so that the tail hanging over her tan pajama capris could be seen. Then spying the new book she raised a brow and tapped it with a long claw. "You got a new book? Who gave it to you?" Did the staff give it to her? Wow, talk about extremes. One second their sending people horrible clothing and the next their supplying them with learning material.

"Oh, yes." Amaya smiled at Chubbs and Joliette with a nod, finishing her salad as well and pushing the dish over a little so she could rest her arms on the table, her large hands drapping over the side. "Just a little hobby of mine. They don't look very good and are made with just leftover patches of fabric and thread, but it keeps me busy." Come to think of it, she should make one for Colche...

Colche
Colche gave a teeny giggle and grinned "Aubrey gave" she puurred, she was Aubreys special project though she didn;'t know it, Aubrey looked after her like the mother she never had, bringing her noce things when she could. Her huge blue eyes grinned and she held oout the book to show amaya "Words for me" she smiles, closing the book which was entitled 'Nusery rhymes' She had lots of different books for the leap pad and she was coming on in leaps and bounds learning from them, she had even learnt to count to thirty, which in itself was a big acheivment "Colche ask Aubrey words, Aubrey give Colche words, Aubrey nice" She wrinkles her nose and gigges watching people push away their plates her stomach giving a little growl, she had the munchies, maybe she should get something? Soon, she wanted to sit with everyone for a little bit first, she was so proud of he change it hadn't phased her after the innitial pain of it all, the island was her home and she liked being fuzzy.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs blinked and heard his name, Colche had come in and was giddy as always. When she turned and showed her tail, Chubbs blushed and looked away, not wanting to be witnessing someone in their underpants. Chubbs listened to Colche explain what she had been doing with her books and where she got them from. He understood now how she'd been talking alot better. He was still blushing when she sat beside him, she looked up and smiled and he smiled shyly back and gave her a pat on her head.

" Least someone well.. ah seems to be alright ah outa this staff... Maybe we should umm try to get her in future"

Joliette Rigiel
"If we can" Joliette agreed looking at colche's book remembering seeing the girl with it a few mornings previous. "Sabin cannot get ANYTHING right... the git" she said his name with utter distaste in her voice "You are doing well Colche" she added giving the girl some praise

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya took the book and looked at the title, then opened it up to skim the inside. "Wow, Aubrey is nice..." She smiled before closing the book and handing it back to Colche. "Your learning a lot of words, Colche. Good job!" She clapped her large hands together in praise to the girl. Every little step was huge for her and she deserved the encouragement.

"I actually met Aubrey breifly before. She helped us carry Mister Dude back to his duplex after he had been put to sleep by Moreau at the Halloween party. I've heard a lot of nice things about her, actually... seems to be the only sane one on the staff."

Colche
Colche giggled happily she was glad everyone liked her book and how well she was doing. At the pat on the head she puurred softly her eyes closing a big kitty getting petted by a very large man, it felt nice. She opens ehr eyes again holding tightly to her book now "Aubrey good, brings nice things" she smiles she was wearing one of the new tops that Aubrey had braught for her as well she was so proud of ehr new wardrobe and her new words, she couldn't possibly be sad "Amaya pretty tail" she stated suddenly with a little giggle ehr blue eyes sparkling. She bit her tongue for a moment though and looked at Amaya "what be Amaya?" her brow creased, the words sometimes got lost in her tongues translation hopefully she would understand though, she didn't exactly know what she was herself though 'kitty' had been whisperd in to her ear by some unknown force.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled and clapped with Amaya with the praising of Colche. He chuckled when Colche bit her tongue, it was very cute. Chubbs decided she should get something , maybe like a reward. He excused himself and headed for the food. He came back moments later with a piece of chocolate cake for Colche, he'd seen her eat it once and figured she liked it,

" Good job Colche"

He smiled a little than looked to Amaya hearing Colche's question, he wanted to know as well.

" Least I'd get something better, umm for ya, ah Amaya, Rather than that ah, hamster crap .. well what umm Sabin said"

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette quirked a brow looking at Chubbs Hamster? no way even she knew that much "Stupide whitehaired git" she said under her breath then looked at Amaya with a look of interest in hearing her answer to Colche

Amaya Vaughan
"Uhh..." Slightly taken aback by the question she forced a smile to Colche and the others, knowing they probably wanted to know too. To Colche changing wasn't as bad thing, it was good and made things fuzzy. "Lizard. Green iguana. You know what they are, Colche?" She didn't know if her knowledge spread outside the basic animals... though the girl probably knew what a lizard was.

"The pattern on my tail and the spikes are pretty much a dead givaway, I think. Though I haven't really sat down to look them up and such quiet yet... saving that for when I'm a little more open to my new apperance."

Colche
Colche giggles "lizard, green Ig..wana" she grins and points to herself "kitty" she states forgetting all about talking at being offerd chocolate cake "Chocolate cake!" she squees and hugs Chubbs before digging in to the big peice of cake without a moments hesitation, covering her maw and nose in chocolate cream as usual. She finishes the cake in moments flat, it was her favourite treat and stopped her belly rumbling no problem. Her ears fluttered and her tongue snakes out trying to reach the peice of cream that sat doggedly on the tip of her nose. One day she would be able to lick pretty much her own muzzle with her tongue, but at the moment she was a good few centimeters short so after a bit of struggling she reached a finger up and licked that instead. "cake good" she grins her little stump of a tail twitching.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs squinted he eyes and looked at Amaya.

"Y-yeah I can see it a bit .. ah I guess"

He suddenly blinked at Colche's squeal of delight and her quick hug. He blushed and chuckled looking at her. She ate worse than he did. He couldn't help chuckle again at her trying to get the cream off her nose. He should teach her to use a fork.

" Yep... cake ah.. is good"

Chubbs rubbed the back of his neck and rested back in his chair, happy with the company

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette stretched "Well guys, I am tired, I think I'm going to get some sleep" she told them and stood up picking up her plate too, she smiled "Thanks and talk to you all soon" she said and headed to take care of dropping it off, she realized out of the 4 of them she was the only one who did not know what she was going to be become. She gave the group a smile and wave before disappearing out hte door

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya laughed as she watched Colche devour the chocolate cake she had been given. She was such a cutie.

"See ya later, Joliette." She waved as the woman left.

Colche
Colche Lifted a hand and waved to Joliete "byebye" she smiles licking her fingers of any cake remnants. She smiles at Amaya "Amaya kay?" she tilted ehr head in a cat like manner her big blue eyes curious. Strangely she had a sixth sence about these things, she didn't understand why people were so upset , nothing on the island struck her as being an upsetting situation but everyone seemed so sad, she just wished she could understand why "Amaya sad" she asks pouting a little ber brow furrowing, she wanted everyone to be happy, seeing, feeling and even smelling that people were upset made her feel rather down she was so happy to be out of the dark enjoying life, having friends and family, she loved life on the island.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled softly and waved to Joliette, out of habit wishing in her head a safe trip home, but there were no muggers or thieves here, they were all victims. Chubbs blinked and looked to Colche and her questioning, always questions to seek with Colche. He looked to Amaya and patted Colche absentmindedly, giving Amaya a smile.

" Curious ah Colche, think we should um call her"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya blinked at Colche, surprised at her ability to pick out her emotions so well. Did whatever feline she was turning into have some kind of sense of emotions like she did with tasting them? "Sorry Colche, I don't mean to be sad but... it's kind of hard when you don't want to be fuzzy." She wasn't sure if she had worded it well enough for the other girl to understand.

"Heh, yeah... though she has every right to be curious." She smiled at the two of them.

Colche
Colche got to her feet too and padded up to Amaya, she weasled in between chubbs and amaya and snuggled the girl "Amaya Sister" she whispers puuring happily her tail wriggling happily. She was glad Amaya was at least a little happier at this sentiment "always family" she whispers her big blue orbs closing as she enjoyed the group hug around Amaya, she wnated so much to have her whole 'family' be happy she hoped they would be one day.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chuckled a bit as Colche wiggled into the hugging group, squishing in between them. He shifted around then squated on one knee so he wasn't towering over them both. He looked at Amaya and saw her tears. He knew it wasn't sad ones, but with a small smile he reached up nervously to brush them aside anyway.

" We ah are all here.. umm for each other... "

Amaya Vaughan
"Thanks guys... really... it means a lot to me." Amaya managed to say, leaning into the two as joyous tears traveled out of her scaly eyes. Reaching around she hugged them both, beyond grateful for all their company and support.

Colche
Colche smiled lightly, her tummy interrupting the moment with a rather large gurgle. She giggles and huggles amaya really tightly before pulling from the hug and pouncing away towards the food line. She picks up a tuna sandwich and three peices of chocolate cake making her way back to the table she plocks them, precariously, on the table and sits back in her chair cross legged and smiling "Chocolate cake amaya" she smiles softly taking a bite from her sandwich her belly warning her that she was hungry and making sure everyone else knew the fact too.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looks up at Amaya and smiles lightly, giving her a pat on the back of her hand and keeping his big hug.

" It's just um.. good to have friends"

hubbs smiled and sat down beside Amaya as Colche came back with the cake and put it in front of him

" Ah, something um tells me she ah, likes chocolate cake"

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, I think so too." Amaya gave a small laugh as she watched Colche grab more pieces of chocolate cake, her hand going up to wipe what little tears were left.

"One thing I'll give the doctor credit for: even though he didn't do it intentionally, he gave me a family. Something I never thought I'd have again."

Colche
Colche smiled happily nibbling away at her sandwiches though she suddenly felt a bit isolated on the other side of the table so she stood with a butty in her gob abd sat in the chair next to Chubbs "eat cake" she says between a mouthful of tuna sandwich. She licks her lips smiling brightly, she was glad that Amaya was a little happier now at least. Colche was just glad she had a family at last. Her ears twitch a bit and she looks up at chubbs hoping for more petting it felt nice but perhaps he was too busy with Amaya right now, she supposed Amaya needed chubbs more at least at the moment.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled at Amaya and patted her back and then chuckled lightly as Colche came and sat on the other side of him, nibbling a sandwich. He blinked at Colche's order to eat cake and he nodded.

" Okay.. Okay.. ah.. I'm eating"

Chubbs looked at his cake and realised Colche hadn't brought him a fork. Looking about, he grabbed the fork he was eating dinner with, sucked it clean and began eating the cake with it.

He smiled at Colche and patted her on the head again awkwardly.

" Thanks umm Colche"

Turning back to Amaya he grinned a bit

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya laughed a bit, looking at the piece of chocolate cake Colche had brought her. "Sorry Colche, don't have much of a taste for sweets anymore. See? I have a funny tongue." She stuck her large, bright pink tongue out at both of them, grinning.

Colche
Colche looked at The womans tongue and giggles. What would she do with the other peice of chocolate cake then? Strangely she hadn't evolved out of liking chocolate cake, though perhaps that was simply because she would eat pretty much anything, it was almost like she didn't have taste buds. She tilts her head again leaning in to chubbs' hand as he petted herher chesty puurr echoing as she finished her sandwich "Joliette, no like chocolate cake, amaya no like chocolate cake." She looked thoughtful, what was wrong with chocolate cake? it was her favourite food stuff!

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chuckled at Amayas tongue and couldn't resist a chance to make her blush.

" You are going to umm. make some umm bloke... really ah happy with that tongue ah one day"

Chubbs snickered and blushed, putting a hand over his eyes. That was horrible, but funny. He looked over at Colche, guessing she was feeling a little sad that her gift was rejected. He decided to give everyone a laugh.

" Well ah.. umm Chubbs like chocolate cake"

Then he took Amaya's cake, twisted his cap around backwards and sunk his face right into the cake. He proceeded to make cookie monster eating sounds as he devoured and smooshed the cake, finally lifting his face up to be covered in chocolate.

Amaya Vaughan
It then suddenly occured to Amaya that her mind was starting to get a little muddled and slow along with her movements. Stupid air conditioning. "I might have to venture out soon, not sure I can take much more of the air conditioning, sadly."

Then at Chubbs' comment her eyes shot open and her face turned bright red. But as she went to say something his face dove into the piece of chocolate cake Colche had given her.

For a few moments she just stared before snorting and bursting into fits of uncontrolable laughter. "OH MY GOD."

Colche
Colche watched chubbs and broke in to fits of giggles "Silly chubbs" she puurred her tail giving a flick as she looked at his extremely messy face, he was even messier than she usually was after cake. She smiles brightly giving alittle puurr, she was ready to go and play herself "beach Amaya, Chubbs? Play?" she smiled looking hopefully between the two of them.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs laughed a bit as well and licked his lips and grabbed for a napkin to clean up his face. It was silly but it got people laughing and he laughed too. Hearing Colche's request, Chubbs sighed, he knew she'd be upset if he said no, but if he didn't get some sleep eventaully, Colche would drag him out at dawn again with him completely stuffed.

" Hmm.. I think umm Colche.. Amaya needs some sleep... and ah Chubbs does too if you umm, want him to see the ah well sunrise"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya had ended up rolling off her chair and onto the cold tile floor, gripping her sides as she slowly died down her laughter. "Hahaha... ha... hoooly s**t..." Wiping tears from her eyes she sat back up. "Hah... yeah, actually the beach sounds really nice right about now, Colche."

Green gaze then looked to Chubbs. "Actually, I was sleeping until Ian woke me up... so I'm alright. You go and get some sleep, okay?" She patted his shoulder with a smile.

Colche
Colche giggles, she forgot she woke chubbs up. "Chubbs sleep" she huggs the big man again and stands, she wanted to go and play at least for a little bit any ways, before it was nap time for her too. She had gotten in to the habbit of letting her cheetah side make her sleep during the day she was most active before midday and after three pm usually it waas getting pretty close to nap time but she could definately spend an hour on the ebach with Amaya.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs patted Colche and hugged her back. Hearing Amaya feeling fine about not needing sleep, Chubbs changed his mind.

" On second though, well ah.. how can I leave umm you two to ah go off all on ya own?"

Chubbs stood up and wiped his face a little more and pushed his hair in

" To the beach!"

Amaya Vaughan
"Y'sure, Chubbs?" Amaya smiled up at him as she stood as well. "If your tired you should go get some sleep." Bussing her dish, she snatched a bottle of water and started towards the door, looking back at the two.

Colche
Colche smiles bouncing after Amaya glancing back to chubbs, she was ready for a bit of activity now. her tail flickerd happily and she grins "beach beach!"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chuckled at Colche and covered his eyes as she bounded to the door like a kangaroo. He was tired, but he would come for a little while.

" Well ah.. i'm ok.. I mean umm well how can I ah resist that?"

Chubbs motioned to Colche, and followed after them and out the door.

Amaya Vaughan
"Alright." Amaya smiled at him and walked after Colche towards the beach.

As the early afternoon rays hit her skin she smiled in contentment. Not even basking could make her feel this energized... it was something about the sun on her skin that warmed her to the bone and made her happier and more active then anything else. While they walked to the beach, she pulled off the black hoodie she had been wearing to reveal the cut off black tank she had been wearing underneath. She was actually still in her pajamas and the tank was sort of baggy so the spikes on her back wouldn't be bothered.

But right now Amaya was in a good mood and the sun on her scales made her feel any better. The fact she seemed to be wearing very little in her own personal oppinion didn't phase her. She tied the hoodie around her waist, the back of it hiding her tail bu the spikes and numerous scales crawling up her spine and the backs of her arms were in plain sight... something she hadn't done since her change.

Amaya had never had much of a figure at all, so it wasn't like anyone was looking anyway... she figured it was okay to just bask while she was out with friends anyhow.

Colche
Colche turned only once as she padded off towards the beach, she was a fast walker her strided long on those forced tip toes. She smiles back at the both as they approach the line of trees that surrounded the beach and in a second she was gone, she had broken in to a run vanishing through the palm trees and speeding on to the creamy sands her tail out straight, Unfortunately, she hadn't quite perfected a stop yet and as her clawed feet touched the sand she skidded and went arse over tit landing on her back "owie" she complained sitting slowly with a sniffle, she had scuffed her elbows, the sand becoming more like sand paper at the speed she was going the friction causing her arms to scrape. She pouts looking around for her friends, she hadn't ever hurt herself, she was suddenly a little child whom had tripped and injured herself she wanted a hug and something to make it better!

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs had his hands in his pockets, his hat still backwards and was whistling quietly to himself as he walked onto the beach. He watched as Amaya took off her hoodie and he blushed a bit, twisting his hat around to hide his face. He blinked when Colche took off in a run, and blinked again at how fast she was. Once more in shock as Colche tripped over and Chubbs winced, knowing all too well of that feeling. He jogged his way over to help her up and to see if she was okay.

" Ouch.. ya umm okay Colche?.. "

Amaya Vaughan
"Colche!" Amaya ran after her, wondering why the girl had just broken out into a run. Upon coming to her fallen friend, she hopped a bit on the hot sand before kneeling down next to her. "Why'd you run, Colche?" She frowned and lifted up her 'little sisters' arms to look at her skinned elbows. "Awww, boo-boo?" She looked at the raven-haired girl for confirmation, giving her a quick hug and then doing what her mom and dad always did when she had got scraps; kissed them to make them better. "All better? I'll havta get you some bandaids when we go back..."

She then helped her up with Chubbs, having not noticed him blushing or turning his hat back around in his embarassed habit.

Colche
Colche pouts a littlerubbing her teary eyes with the back of a hand she gets to her feet with their help. "bandaid" she mutters, brushing a strand of raven hair from her eyes. Shelicks her lips, she would usually run up and down this beach when she was alone, speeding ina straight line finding herself lost in running along "Like running" she stated subsiding her tears the black linesthat ran down ehr face always making it seem like she was rather sombre any way though this was always a misconception as she was usually smiling. She fuinally stops her sniffles and looks around the beach, her favourite place, she loved the beach, it was so open she always felt so free here "rock pools?" she asked them both after a short contemplative pause wheer she checked her elbows to make sure she hadn't hurt them too baddly. She hadn't been to a rock pool in ages, she wanted to see what she could find in them.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs had a pained look,it was for Colche though, with her elbows grazed. He smiled though as Colche's big sis Amaya kissed her wounds better and Colche weemed to be fine. He gave her a pat on her head and she mentioned rock pools. Chubbs had no idea where they were, but obviously she did.

" I'm ah... I dunno where Colche... ya can umm show me?"

Amaya Vaughan
"Rock pools?" Amaya blinked, only having a slight idea what they were. Weren't they small pools of water with little sea creatures in them. Someone else must have shown her them and taught her about them... She looked at Chubbs, having wondered the same thing. It was Colche's turn to show them something, not the other way around.

Colche
Colche giggles and takes chubbs little finger in one hand and Amayas hand in her other hand leading them both woards a group of black volcanic rocks. Greer had shown her the pools before and she had found lots of really cool creatures. her favourite was the star fish. She wished she could have kept one but Greer sauid they had to live in water and she didn't have water in her appartment. She giggles as she lets them go and clambers up the black rocks sitting on a big one she stares in to a particularily deep pool searching for creatures to capture just for a moment.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chuckled as his pinkie finger was nabbed and he found himself being pulled along by an over excited Colche. He found himself soon at Colche's rockpools and got himself a spot to sit on the edge of one and look about inside. He hadn't done something like this since he was a kid. He smiled a little up at Amaya

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya smiled and let herself be lead, looking into the rock pools once they were there. "Heeey, neat Colche!" She looked into the water at all the tiny sea life scampering away to hide from the giants outside their pool. Though she refrained from poking anything in them, not knowing whether or not they might be poisonous.

Colche
Colche of course wasn't so cautious and she was straight in with her hands,s he carefully, very carefully pulled out a crab holding it bu it's shell so that it's pincers didn't get her. She giggles and shows the otehr two "crab" she states, her eyes dancing,s he liked the rock pools but this one didn't seem to have any star fish in it, she would have to go to the next one to see if there were any stars in there but for the moment she was happy to show off the crab she had captured.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs just watched his pool, seeing the small fishes in it swim about. He tapped the suface of the water and watched them scatter. He blinked when Colche yanked out a crab from her pool and then told him and Amaya so. He smiled lightly and nodded.

" Wow.. good catch.. yeah it is umm a.. crab.. ad you umm be careful it don't ah.. n** ya"

Amaya Vaughan
Remembering the instance awhile ago when they had been hunting for seashells, Amaya giggled. "Angry crab."

Demons...?
(Amaya meets Father Stewart while doing some laundrey)

Stewart_Young
Once again Stewart was out exploring the village, he didn't dare venture out into the jungle again without Colche. But it was a nice day, so he didn't have much to complain about. He hadn't seen any demons lately either, mabye it had only been his imagination. It must of been, it was very late and he had been very tired. That "demon" was probably just a very harry islander, or some strange jungle creature that had wandered into the village. Liking this new idea Stewart hummed a random tune while enjoying the island.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun had found herself having fallen asleep outside her duplex where she had been relaxing the night before. Or.. was it that morning? Whatever. It was dark. Nomatter.

She got up and stretched, yawning then went inside to change, comming back out with her pair of sunglasses on, her tummy rumbling. "Ack.. should go get something to eat.." she muttered, and headed out of the duplex area.

It hadnt been very long when her ears picked up the sound of a man humming. Rather curious as to who could be so merry right now, she fallowed it until she was a few yards behind teh Father.

Wait.. isnt that the guy who freaked out.. earlier? she thought, and quickly tried to hide behind some bushes before being spotted.

Amaya Vaughan
Ah, laundrey day. One of the most boring days in all of MAHKIND. Amaya sat ontop of the washer while her clothes spun around inside it. Today she was looking particularly gothy, wearing her torn off black tank with the fishnets from the Halloween party along with the thick black belt and torn black pants. Afterall, it was dirty but it was the least dirty thing she had. As the washer shook under her she read through her 7th JTHM comic.

Hearing someone humming outside, she looked up from her reading material and leaned to try and see outside the door without moving. Grumbling, she scooted farther to the side to see and leaned farther.

And farther.

And fa-OHSHIT!

Amaya tumbled off the washer, limbs flailing as she toppled out of the laundrey room and landing halfway out the doorway, seeing stars.

Greer Cassenwari
Having returned to her room two days ago to a whole mirror and hungry pets, Greer had decided to act her age, suck it up, and go out into the village in daylight. If little Amaya could take all this so well, she could at the very least live up to the maturity level her 'adopted' daughter thought she had.

Walking down towards the cafeteria, she managed to turn the corner just as said lizard girl crashed out of the doorway to the laundry room.

"Amaya! Sweetie! Are you okay?" Greer ran to her friend's side, not noticing anyone else.

Stewart_Young
Stewart thought he heard something moving around in the bushes behind him, but after not seeing anything. He blamed the sound on his nerves. He was about to continue on with his nice walk when he heard, and saw, some poor girl come crashing out of the doorway. He was about to go after her when he saw another go help her... Something was very wrong here. Both of the women did not look exactly human. Did he not imagine the demon the first time, and there was more than one? Still in shock he just stood there staring at the scene adhead of him.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun had heard Amaya and Greer making a bit of noise up ahead. She wanted to jump out and shout to them, but instead crept out from the bushes and followed after Father.

She looked at Greer and Amaya and sheepishly waved a hand then made several gestures to the figure in fron of her, trying her hardest to point out he was new, and exceptionally not easy towards her changes.

Instead she looked like some babbling goose, trying to spread its wings and scare a little kid on the side of a lake.

Amaya Vaughan
"I... leaned too far." Amaya rubbed the back of her head with a large hand and winced. She was dazed, but alright. "But yeah, I'm good." She gave a smirk and reached for her fallen comic to make sure it was alright, obviously in a much, much better mood then she had been ever since her second change.

As she stood, she noticed the preist staring and froze while brushing her comic off to stare back at him... then at Hargun, who looked like she was trying to mimmick a swan having a seizure. Raising a brow, she stood up straight but didn't say anything which... probably didn't help since her new feet looked rather dangerous and added a whole 4 inches to her height.

Greer Cassenwari
Greer tsked, eyeing Amaya for wounds and taking in her outfit. "I'd ask you if you hurt your head, but it seems you did that before getting dressed this morining. Or you got attacked by a masked scissor-wielding bandit."

Crossing her arms under her chest, she fluffed her wing feathers and turned to follow the girl's gaze. Random priest, Hargun jumping around like she was being electrocuted- Eeep! Greer had been raised vaguely Catholic, and so had some fuzzy, murky memories of men in a lot of black from when she was very little. How the hell had they gotten a priest here?!

Stewart_Young
After looking around he finally noticed the demon from first time. She seemed to be using some sort of strange sign lanuage to communicate with the other two. But the odd bird one and lizard girl were speaking english. He would not freak out this time. No he would not show fear in the face of the enemy. He quickly crossed himself and said "Why are you demons here? Are thee slaves of Lucifer, or have you wandered out of hell? What it is you seek here on the island? Human blood? Souls?" Yes, he would stand strong in front of the enemy this time, even if he felt like shatting his pants on the inside.

"Yeah and he w-Hey!" Amaya retorted, being in too much of a good mood to really stare at the preist very long. "I'll have you know it's laundrey day so..." She looked up at Greer and stuck out her large, pink tongue.

Then upon hearing the preist she almost facefaulted and turned back to look at him. "Uhhh... yeah, what?" She raised a brow and stared at him like he was the demon while listening to Hargun, completely lost and looking between him, Hargun, and Greer.

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah and he w-Hey!" Amaya retorted, being in too much of a good mood to really stare at the preist very long. "I'll have you know it's laundrey day so..." She looked up at Greer and stuck out her large, pink tongue.

Greer Cassenwari
Greer chuckled at Amaya's response to her teasing. "Be that as it may, even on laundry day I don't wear fishnets. Just as well: you pull them off better than I could have-"

Demons? The hawk woman's mouth fell open at the priest's assertion, the shock staving off the urge to laugh. Blinking, she spoke, letting her confused mind wander. "We're not demons... heck, I can still say the Lord's Prayer and probably a Hail Mary if you pushed me. I'm not sure though, since I haven't been inside a church since my confirmation."

Stewart_Young
He paused for a moment looking once again at all three of the women. The hawk, she could stand to speak the lord's name... How? We was becoming even more confused, and even a bit more scared. "A-Are you saying that it is true what the girl told me about the shots changing us? No tool of man could cause such changes. Obvisouly Satan is on this island, you all have fallen for his trap. May God save your souls" He said shaking his head, even though the truth had been explained to him, we was not leaving his little reality he had created.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun raised eyebrow again, yet even higher.

"Whatever she said, if it had anything to do with a b*****d named Moreau, an injection, and us mutating into animals, then yes, its true." she grumbled, starting to get a bit tired of Moreau's name, and this man's impudence.

"Satan equals Moreau if you want us to put it that way, but again.. we're not demons.." she explained, trying to come up with a way to proove it. She wasnt in teh least bit religious and it would be hard for her to think of something that would defy what he believed.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya slumped while watching the preist and Hargun try to explain it to him.

"She's right, and everyone on this island that's gotten a shot when they arrived is sealed into the same fate. And were not demons." Her brow furrowed and she looked around, wondering how to prove that they weren't. She wasn't one bit religious, really so she didn't know HOW someone could believe that much but... "Oh!" Reaching under her fishnet shirt, she pulled up her silver locket and slowly approached the black-clad man. "See? This was me when I was younger." Clicking it open with a claw, she let it dangle from the chain off two of her long fingers. She would let him see it while holding her hand out to him, not wanting to scare him off if she got too close.

Inside the locket was a picture of a couple on one side and a elderly woman with a rather young Amaya on the other.

Greer Cassenwari
At his insistance about demons, Greer wondered idly if he'd seen or heard about her blow up. She definitely would have pegged herself as a demon after that little show...

"I'm a scientist, and while I would never have thought science could go this far, I'm afraid it is possible. Although if you'd like to have us gave on some holy objects or get doused with some holy water to prove the whole not demon thing, go for it.

But you know, just to be sure: Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death. Amen."

She was suprised she still remembered that.

Stewart_Young
Stewart could lie to himself no longer, everything Moreau had told him was a lie. Would he change into some horrible beast too? She had just recited the Lord's Prayer, no demon or posessed person was able to do that! They had just destoryed any hope he had left in his fantasy world. But he would pove this first, an exorcism mabye? Yes, that was the only way to prove what was really going on here. If it was successful, then we would have his work cut out for him... But if nothing was there, would he have to trust in science? He said something along the lines of "I need to go think this over" and started walking towards his house. Later he would get his exorcism equiptment together. But now he really needed get his thoughts together.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun hadnt a clue what some of what Greer was saying but nodded along to it anyways.

She looked rather suprised at Stewart before he left and scratched the top of her head.

"Oookay then. I guess youve guys got him convinved?" she asked, feeling kinda weak not being able to think of anything quick enough. In fact she mightve made things worse if she tried something.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya sighed and watched him go, flipping her locket up into her palm and shutting it before carefully putting it back over her neck. "Heck if I know." She shrugged and looked back at Greer before going back into the laudrey room.

"Whys he think were demons? He's a preist or something, right? I mean... I can kinda understand it, but..." The iguana huffed, leaving it at that while opening the washer and moving her wet clothing to the dryer. "Poor guy. Why would he bring a friggin' priest here?"

Greer Cassenwari
Greer watched him go sadly, mentally berating herself for chasing another person of. She needed to stop doing that! "Heck if I know, but I could see where he'd rather see us as demons than think he was going to turn into an animal. We all have our own delusions our brains use to protect us."

Sighing, the hawk woman ruffled Amya's hair affectionately and then turned to go. "I need food and lots of time outdoors to keep the hawk happy. I'll probably be sketching at the cliffs again if you need me. Have fun with your laundry and your interesting clothing."

Waving to Hargun, Greer trotted towards food.

Hargun Aikason
"Hmm." she muttered to Amaya's comment.

"Oh.. see yah then greer." Hargun said and returned a wave before turning back to Amaya.

"We all know the ******** Moreau. I dunno if its good or bad saying this though, at least he didnt take another female. Makes me worry why theres so many of us here even though he and Aubrey are an item." she shuddered at that.

Amaya Vaughan
"Alright, see ya Greer." Amaya smiled as her hair was ruffled and watched her go before returning to her laundrey, having to carefully pull wads of it out with her fingers to make sure she didn't tear any of it.

"Holy crap, don't remind me." She paused to shudder. "It's friggin' disgusting. I mean... why else wouldn't their be more guys? It's not like male and female are THAT different enough to show different changes or something or whatever." The girl waved a large hand in emphasis before piling the rest of her clothing in the dryer, shutting the door and turning it on. "I've had to block out the fact that he's got us monitered in our bedrooms just to friggin' SLEEP at night." She grumbled and hopped up onto the dryer, resting her comic on it as well.

Hargun Aikason
"Certainly though he doesnt have our showers monitored.. we arent going to do much transforminng in there.."

she sat on a dryer next to hers and sighed.

"Doesnt he have the whole place wired? I mean, hes probably watching us right now.." with that she scowled and looked up and looked around the ceilings, and brushes her chin with her webbing. "Thats right, ******** you, Moreau!" she called.

"Argh. Im pushing it.." she said and slouched, discontinuing her offensive behavior.

Amaya Vaughan
"Jeeze, I hope not. I mean, that'd just be stepping it way too far... though considering, he's stepped pretty danm far as it is so I really wouldn't put it past him." Amaya scowled, resting her chin in one of her palms.

"And he does probably have this place wired..." She looked around before putting a finger in each side of her mouth, pulling it open and sticking out her tongue. "NYAH!" After that was finished, she slumped again.

"But in any case, s'not like we can do anything about it." The iguana girl sighed and kicked her feet in the air.

Hargun Aikason
"Yea.. kinda screwed. Although I bet we could make mean faces and vulgar gestures all day. Surely he cant use that 'put us to sleep' command thing from far off. I bet you have to hear it or something like that... otherwise we'd be dropping like flies all the time."

She took this thought into consideration. Maybe Moreau's power over them could be fairly easy to avoid if they simply stayed away from him, and considering he hardly ever showed his face around the islanders, that really wouldnt be a difficult practice.

"Ugh.." she made a sick noise. "What if like.. sticks probes and tracking things in our food? I mean that could explain.. things." although she hated to think about all these things, it was worth talking about. They could find ways to weave around without fear of their disturbing master.

Amaya Vaughan
"Augh..." Amaya matched her friend's look of disgust with her own, but didn't add to what she said. Instead she jumped to another subject.

"... So, how've you been these past few days?"

Hargun Aikason
Hargun grinned. Nice change of subject at least.

"Ah well.. ever since appologizing to Ambrose, meeting with Joliette, and Jamal, and hopefully getting an apology to Awen through him, Ive been a lot better. I keep finding myself almost cheerful being here.. which is really wierd. Guess its experiencing watching more and more people come and more change.. you feel like everyone here, whether or not theyre agreeable, have become bonded. Almost like a family, if not a brotherhood."

her grin changed to an embarassed look. "Eugh, see? A bit unusually positive."

She sighed and looked up, leaning back a bit, putting an arm behind her to hold her up. "I even slept outside my duplex the other night after relaxing and listening to everything."

Amaya Vaughan
"Well, I think almost everyone can see something positive in being here despite what's going on. I mean to be completely honest... I don't really regret coming here. Like you said, we've created some sort of dysfuctional family or something. If I never came here I'd still be alone and would have never met you or Ambrose or Greer or anyone..." Amaya smiled and curled her toes a little.

It was then that the dryer beeped, causing the girl to jump off the top and start piling her clothing into a pillow case she had been using as a hamper. "But then again, that doesn't keep me from thinking about how you and the others shouldn't be here. You have crap back in the outside world to miss... And I'd rather be stranded here alone then have to watch you guys miss so much." She gave a smirk.

"Well, I better get back to my duplex and put my clothes away before I start getting all sappy. I'll catch ya later Hargun!" Amaya waved and grabbed her comic before swinging the pillow case over her shoulder and heading back to her room.

Amaya Snaps
(Amaya meets Chana and snaps)

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya sat outside the cafeteria doors, allowing the hot afternoon sun to warm her scales. The air conditioning inside was rather uncomfortable, so since she was alone for the time being she chose to eat outside and bask at the same time.

She sat cross-legged, the bowl of salad resting in her large palm and the other awkwardly holding the fork that stabbed at the veggies contained within. These past few days hadn't been so bad. Despite that one weird encounter with the preist, everything had been... well, pretty good actually. The iguana girl smiled to herself as she ate in silence.

Chana Cohen
Chana had just woken up. She'd gone back to her duplex after meeting Jamal at the beach late last night. And, of course, her belly had woken her up, demanding that she remember how long it had been since dinner yesterday.

In her sleep-fogged daze, she didn't really notice the girl sitting outside the building as being...out of the ordinary. "Boker tov," she greeted the girl. When was the last time she'd been able to sleep so late? Probably that last Shabbat two or three summers ago. When had she last worked there...?

Amaya Vaughan
"Huh?" Amaya blinked and looked up at the strange woman that approached her and froze. Crap, someone ELSE she hadn't met yet? Please oh please let them know what was going on...

"Uh... hey." She looked down and didn't wave, just in case this woman didn't know the truth. If she didn't then... well, she really didn't want to see her reaction to her strange apperance.

Chana Cohen
"It means "good morning"," Chana provided, still not really seeing Amaya.

"Is there anything good in the cafeteria today?" It was just an innocent question, Chana was trying to make conversation on "safe" ground. Besides, camp food was not to be envied unless if you didn't have enough to eat.

Amaya Vaughan
"Ah." Amaya gave an understanding nod. Well, this woman was certainly being... calm, if anything. Thinking that she knew about the truth and was taking it rather well, she looked back up and at the cafeteria doors. "Eh, depends on what you like. Veggies are fresh at least." She gave a light shrug while stabbing at her salad and taking another bite.

Chana Cohen
"Veggies? No cereal? And is there 2% milk?" Or maybe the other woman was only interested in veggies. It was possible. It was also possible that she had...some...strange skin condition. Like leprosy? Or wait...wasn't that white spots? Gah, too much brainpower was required to figure that out right now.

Amaya Vaughan
"I dunno, really. You'll probably have to go and look. I only went in and grabbed a salad before making my way back out here... didn't really look over the menu very much." Amaya was looking at her salad again, not annoyed at all by the woman's questions... she was actually having a normal conversation like she was a normal person again. It was pretty nice.

Chana Cohen
"Okay, thanks," Chana replied, and went inside to fetch food. She decided that she'd eat outside with the other woman, maybe the woman would let slip her condition. If Chana had any major flaw, it was that she wanted to know what was going on with people. She'd befriend anyone, but liked to know what was going on that might affect how much they were getting out of a program or such.

A few minutes later, Chana returned with a bowl of Frosted Flakes and a small milk carton. It was a few days to expiration, but wasn't there yet. All was right with the world.

"May I sit?" she asked the woman.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya wasn't really expecting the woman to come back outside and request to sit with her, so for a second she looked up in surprise before smiling and shuffling over. "Sure, no problem." She was just sitting on the ground outside the door, not really bothering with any tables that might have been set up outside. For some reason she loved to sit on the ground and feel the grass between her toes while she ate.

After she had shuffled over she wiggled a little bit, allowing her tail to curl around her without getting smashed against her body and the wall. Danm, that thing was a pain.

Chana Cohen
Chana sat down, poured her milk, and was taking a spoonful of cereal when she saw the tail move. She blinked, then looked up at Amaya's face, truly seeing it for the first time.

"Do you like dressing up?" she asked, calmly, though she'd gone a bit paler than usual.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya stopped mid bite, letting her fork back into her bowl as she looked at the woman. Oh... crap... she didn't know...

"Dressing... up...?" She frowned and looked down at her bowl, her stomach turning. Please don't let her freak.

"This... isn't a costume if that's what you mean." Green eyes closed, not wanting to see her reaction.

Chana Cohen
"Not a costume..." Chana trailed off, staring. Then she burst out laughing.

"Of course it's not! You must be like some of my friends in college, who swore that they really were the people they were dressed up as. I see now." And she dug into her cereal, having found a rational explanation.

Amaya Vaughan
What...? Amaya frowned and glared at Chana, her tail lashing and hitting the wall behind her with a smack. She... she was ******** LAUGHING. Something the girl didn't even know she had snapped.

"Don't ******** laugh! I'm serious! Look at my hands. Do these look fake? Like gloves?" She held one out and flexed it, using the other to set her bowl down on the ground for now. "Does my tail look fake? Is it some electronic thing moving on it's own?" Her tail continued to make quick, aggrivated lashes against the wall, not hurting at all for some reason. Her voice at first was a yell, but then died down to that of quiet anger and sarcasm. Paired with her scaly face, sharp teeth, and narrowed eyes she did look rather intimidating as some of that innocent girl that had arrived on the island was lost forever.

Chana Cohen
As the woman started yelling, Chana froze and looked up. Her eyes, her face, her hands, her tail...her tail...her TAIL!

Dear Lord the woman had a tail. That was the last thought Chana had as darkness swarmed over her. Thankfully her face missed her bowl by a handspan as she fainted.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya's anger quickly turned into regret as the woman fainted.

"Crap! C'mon lady, I'm sorry!" She paniced and helped her up, resting her against the building and turning to fan her with a large hand. God, why had she snapped like that? The woman was just being logical! Anyone with sense would jump to anything but being turned into an animal!

"Oh god, I'm so sorry... Wake up, c'mon..."

Chana Cohen
"Mrrrrrn..." Chana moaned as her eyelids flickered slightly. Then she opened her eyes, groaning again, and stared at the ground. She was aware of someone holding her up against something, but all she could focus on was a fleeting memory of something she thought she'd seen...

"G-d," she moaned, and looked straight ahead. Into the woman's face. "It's...it's not..." She couldn't even get the words out, she couldn't believe it; and she was still disoriented from her fainting spell.

Amaya Vaughan
"Thank god..." Amaya breathed out a sigh of relife as she came too, but withdrew once her eyes opened. She took a few steps back, remaining in a crouch with her head down. If she scared the woman again... she didn't know what she'd do.

Chana Cohen
As soon as the woman relaxed her hold, Chana slid down the wall to sit in the dirt. Her legs were not yet up to holding her weight, and she still felt quite dizzy. Eyes dilated, limbs shaking...she was nowhere near recovered. Her fists clenched and unclenched convulsively. It said in the Torah...or was it the Tanakh?...that G-d had made man, Adam, in His image. Right? Was this still that image? Was such a thing possible?

Was she going crazy? Chana brought her hands, her normal-sized human hands, up to her head, as if that might possibly help. It didn't even block out the world at large, but she didn't have to look at...at the woman.

She tried to say something, but the only thing that came to mind was a silly old song she'd learned long ago. "In the beginning, beraysheet. In the beginning..." she sang in a shaking voice, ignoring the world around her.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya frowned and looked down at the ground, unable to watch Chana. Should she just leave her alone? The woman would probably be better without her around. Sighing, she hung her head low and grabbed her bowl before standing and walking to the cafeteria doors. "I-... I'm sorry." She stuttered before walking inside to put away her dishes.

The Iguana Wins
(Amaya gets into a fight with Lauren on the beach)

Amaya Vaughan
After that whole incident with... what was her name? She didn't know actually, but the woman with curly brown hair had pushed buttons that Amaya didn't even know existed. Since then she had stayed mostly in her room, save for coming out to bask on the beach like right now and to grab some food. Even though half of her craved for social interaction, the iguana in her wanted nothing of it. In her days of solitude she had snatched up the books she had borrowed and read as much as she could about green iguanas. By the markings on her tail, it was pretty obvious that's what she was turning into.

They were solitary; and captive females were very bitchy. Great. She was captive alright, and the temper that once didn't exist had pushed it's way through to an extent. The fact that she hadn't seen anyone for about a week didn't help either... man, she needed to find Ambrose, Hargun, or Greer to talk.

Letting out a sigh, she pulled one of her legs up to her chest, her large foot hanging off the piece of driftwood she sat on. Amaya only wore a red tank along with the red fishnets that were for the Halloween party so her scaled arms could soak in the suns rays. Her baggy red pants were held up by her belt, now riding rather low due to her new tail which hung behind her off the piece of driftwood.

Lauren Granger
With the memories of her mother surfacing and no one around that celebrated her birthday a while back, Lauren had remained mostly in isolation. A small part of her hated it, but the part that was still the bleeding emotional mess of a human forced the social mongoose to the far most corner for a while.

Yeah, this was why she hated being human, but things needed to be that way for a bit, she needed to know herself as familiar for she was the only one she ever got by trusting.

And lately, this miss goody two shoes doc's daughter bit was getting to her. She didn't need anyone.

Well, the room did get rather boring, and only so many times you can go through all the trails in the jungle of this tiny island before something else must be done. So she decided to hit the beach.

A small part of her was bouncing to meet people, a large part of her was craving to mess with someone's mind. The internal conflict made her brain spin at times.

Right now, it spun full force and stopped when her eyes met on Amaya. She was an easy target for both those needs. . .

"Hey girl!!!" Damn she looked different and that tail, was rather long. Lauren stopped a bit, acting stunned, "Oh. . ." she simply said.

Now if this was feined sympathy or an act to get Amaya going Lauren didn't fully know herself but somehow part of her personality would win.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya blinked and turned to face Lauren. Oh... s**t... Not the person she needed to see right now. She gave a tiny smile and turned back around to face the ocean. "Hey Lauren." At least she hadn't start by saying how 'cool' it was she had changed again. If she did, Amaya wasn't sure how she would handle it. Would she snap again or would she win over the animal inside her and just get upset like before?

Either way, normally when Thorn was around things... did not go well.

Lauren Granger
Lauren kind of cocked her head in confusion at Amaya, what was with her? She remembered when Lauren first met the girl and she was all bright bubbly and chipper, as if nothing could phase her. Right now, she seemed depressed.

Lauren went up and patted her hair a bit, sitting right beside Amaya to view the ocean with her, "Soo... uh... hey.." She looked at Amaya, "When did you change?" Lauren had been skipping classes a bit and was sure the doc would be mad but the doc retaliated by takeing away the wonderful pleasure lauren found in people changing. He was leaving her in the dark about such things right now.

Amaya Vaughan
"A few weeks ago, I think." Amaya shrugged, time seeming to just squash into one looping timeframe that never had a begining or end.

Not wanting to stay on the subject of her change just in case Lauren decided to say how 'awsome' it was or something, she switched over to talking about her. "So how've you been?"

Green eyes kept watching the water come up onto the sand and then fall back like an army being outnumbered. Her long toes curled around the edge of the driftwood, wanting to grip onto something like an extra hand.

Lauren Granger
Lauren looked sternly at the new info of her change, "Oh, well... Damn I had no clue. Doc's been keeping me in the dark lately about such things." She was rather angry about that but mostly knew it was her own fault.

Then Amaya asks how she has been and that makes Lauren's expression look even more defensive, "I'm fine, good as gold, high as a ******** kite!" God why couldn't she be 50% by now! Why did Amaya get to do that!? Was she rubbing it into her face!? "Why?" Lauren backed away defensively.

Amaya Vaughan
Good, be in the dark like the rest of us for a change. Amaya frowned at her own thoughts. That was a horrible thing to think.

She then watched Lauren's disposition change almost instantly, her tongue flicking out to taste her emotions breifly. A single brow raised, wondering what she could have possibly said to make her get all defensive. "Idle conversation, to know how you were doing, what else?" Don't get aggrivated over something that little, just... stay calm. Green eyes turned to look at the ocean, hoping the sight of it would calm her down a little.

Lauren Granger
Lauren stopped a second looking back at herself. Geuss it wasn't that obvious she was upset. She shrugged it off. "Heh, yeah... Idle conversation. Well, that just means I'm suppose to lie, say things are great and turn around to ask you how things are going then you say great. Never really understood that kind of talk." She laughed at herself. Small social concepts like that Lauren was always puzzled by. Maybe that's why she came off as gruff at times, she hated the social rituals built up by people to avoid talking about what was really on her mind.

Then again, she also hated talking about what was on her mind, so she avoided most people all together.

Until she came to the island.

Amaya Vaughan
"Your not supossed to lie, your supossed to tell the truth. Like if you feel like s**t, say you feel like s**t." Amaya shrugged, her large hands opening up with the gesture. "Even though theirs probably nothing I can do about it, it's better then lying." Did Lauren always lie? She had lied to her in the begining, why would now be any different? And... why had she just cursed without correcting herself?

Lauren Granger
Lauren shook her head, "Never heard anyone tell the truth to that question is all." She smiled at Amaya's claws, her deformed face and increasing scales. It was all so monsterous yet beautiful, like a merge of science and art. "So... you feel like s**t huh? Still, would think you would be over things by now, suck it up and move on. She knew she was stepping the boundries here a bit but wondered how Amaya would react.

"So, can you grab a whole basketball with that hand now?" She reached her lengthened claws over to compare, Amaya's was twice the size of hers. Lauren had already found her hands made it difficult to pick up small things. Spreading her hands out Lauren added, "Damn Amaya, I mean they're huge!"

Maybe the old Lauren was winning, but in an odd and unfamiliar way.

Amaya Vaughan
"I'm over that, mulling over something else." Amaya stated blandly, then watched Lauren compare her own lenghtened fingers to her's. She frowned, her tail giving an aggrivated twitch. Withdrawing her hands to her lap, she curled her fingers to to try and make them look smaller... or at least keep Thorn from comparing.

"Thanks for reminding me." She muttered, annoyed.

Lauren Granger
"Oh..." Lauren was quite surprised, had she lost her ability to get to people? Has the mongoose won? "Over that and mulling over something else. Yeah, this was never a problem for me." And she was right it wasn't. She pulled away her own hand standing in akward silence for a while.

"Soo, what is buggin' ya?" Now she was curious and wanted to know even if she wouldn't tell Amaya what was bugging herself.

Amaya Vaughan
Jeeze, Lauren was weird.

"I bumped into a new woman the other day. When she realized I wasn't wearing a costume she fainted. Fainted. And when she came to all she did was ignore me to keep herself from flipping out and there was nothing I could do but walk away in hopes she would be alright." Amaya rested her chin on her knee, frowning. "I look so godanm freakish that all I can do is avoid the new people so they don't die of a heart attack." Gah, did she just curse again?

Lauren Granger
"She fainted?" Lauren had to hold back the laugh, "God, how pathetic. That's what's been buggin ya well if you want I can go beat her around a bit for you I mean that's really ******** rude." Lauren cracked her knuckles. "Nah, I bet there are new people out there that won't be so stuck in their own little world enough to accept you how you are. For example, back on the streets I wouldn't be able to bathe for months, months!" She made it a point to emphasise this disgusting fact. "Oh I would reek of dumpsters and body odor but you get used to it. Well, there would be those who would look at me like I was a freak at it hurt at first." She looked down at her claws, her slight canines shining through her smile. "I learned though that it rocked being different, no one's gonna pick on the smelly girl so they left me alone. You'll see soon enough, it's great. And it doesn't matter, she's can't faint at her own self." Lauren patted Amaya hard on the back hopeing her little pep talk was working.

Mongoose 1, Lauren 0... geuss she would find out. I mean, she was trying to cheer Amaya up for some unknown reason.

Amaya Vaughan
Even though Lauren's pep talk had some true points and did make her feel a little on her side, the mere mention of the woman and fainting being pathetic made her tail give a hard thrash in her direction. The pep talk mostly did the very opposite. "She's not pathetic and the fact that she fainted doesn't make her pathetic. I fainted after my second change and I know what's going on!" She glared up at Thorn, brow creased. "That woman probably has a family back home and now she finds out that she can never leave and her humanity is being ripped away from her?!" The iguana was winning and Amaya didn't even seem to notice.

"I don't mind being here and I know you don't either. Neither of us have anything to go back to, but a LOT of the people here do. Their being ripped away from their lives just so Moreau can get his ******** KICKS." She hissed without realizing it and stood, pacing back and forth in a strange swaggering motion. A large hand went over her face, the other tucked behind her. Breath dammit, breath.

Lauren Granger
Lauren smiled wickedly at Amaya, "Fainting at your own self? That's even more pathetic." Her small tail puffed up emitting a weird strange odor as Lauren snarled a bit.
"Perhaps, they deserve to feel like us!" She yelled back. "We don't get a family or a home, now it's their turn." Lauren's head was spinning a bit as she felt something comming on, she wasn't frightened at all it seemed but her tail was fluffed out like a wire brush as she slightly haunched over in anticipation of something just in case it happened.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya turned to glare at her, not even seeming to notice the smell or how her long fingers were flexing themselves. "How selfish can you be?! Don't you ever think of how others might feel?!" She wanted to sink her claws into Lauren's eyes and rip them out, her tail thrashing behind her furiously from side to side. "Not everyone deserves this punishment! Most on this island DON'T. How awful of a person must you be to wish the s**t you went through on someone else?!"

Lauren Granger
Lauren laughed a bit, still on guard. "You have to be selfish to survive. I suppose I started transforming into an animal once I hit the streets." She looked Amaya straight into her eyes, the orange appeared to be flaming as the orange pupils seemed to be alien of any emotion. "I don't wish this punishment on anyone, I just enjoy it."

A part of her hated saying that, but it was small and hiding in the corner watching the monster created by Lauren's pain go full force. That ******** Moreau taking away the changes, maybe she should go back to a good student to view them again.

And to watch Amaya's 2nd change over and over and over again. . .

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya gave Lauren the most disgusted look she could still muster while being so angry. "Your ******** sick." She spat, hissing once more before turning and walking in the opposite direction; back towards the duplexes.

Lauren Granger
Lauren watched Amaya head back, her words falling on deaf ears.

Right now, there was no beach, there was no sun, in Lauren's head it was concrete and trash.

She fell down, her head spinning in confusion, nearly pounding in on itself. "Yeah, I kind of am aren't I?" She looked at her claws.

Moreau was her new father and yet again, her father was turning her into a monster.

Consulting Chubbs
(Amaya goes to Chubbs to talk out her frustrations)

Amaya Vaughan
After the fight with Lauren, Amaya had stormed to the cafeteria and grabbed a water bottle to wash the blood out of her mouth. Luckily she had read up on iguana's else she would have thought she might've bitten something open. When they got mad enough they would inject blood into their mouths or something to make it appear brighter to scare off predators.

Once that was thru, she paced up and down the duplexs for who knew how long. She kept running the argument over in her mind, along with a few other things. What the hell was happening to her?

She had even stopped outside of Ambrose's duplex and had almost knocked before shaking her head and pacing again. He had enough to deal with, her problems and concerns shouldn't be weighed on his shoulders. Plus, Angelina was probably inside. What if she accidently answered? The woman might've been scared of her and then she'd never be able to forgive herself for scaring ANOTHER person shitless.

After a whole lot more pacing and thinking, she stopped in front of Chubbs' duplex. Greer was probably out somewhere and Hargun was normally the person you went to for a good laugh. Right now, she wasn't sure if she could laugh. Even though he probably wouldn't understand her woes since he hadn't even changed ONCE yet... she knocked on Chubbs door.

Amaya needed to talk to someone. ANYONE right now that would listen to her.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked up from his drawing, he blinked and began to stuff everything under the bed quickly. Flicking the ash from his smoke into the ashtray his had, he devoured his twinkie quickly and stood up heading towards the door. He wasn't sure who it was, Colche wouldn't knock, well unless someone had taught her finally. Openning the door slowly he peered outside.

" Hi?"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya looked up at him, a smile coming to her features. "Heya Chubbs." She looked worn, tired and confused all at once despite her young age. "I... hope I'm not bothering you, am I?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled down at Amaya and shook his head with a blush. He straightened out his shirt, trying to look half respectable in the situation, and flicked his cigarette flying outside. Stepping to the side of the door, he made way for Amaya to enter.

" No umm.. not at all.. I ah.. don't get a lot of visitors, but Colche"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya smiled and walked inside, wanting to put her hands in her pockets but unable to due to their size so she settled for hooking her thumbs into her pockets. "So Colche bugs ya alot, eh?" She gave a tiny laugh, not about to jump onto her own problems. It was rare she picked someone out JUST so they could listen to her... it made her feel selfish and inconsiderate, even now. But... it had been a week of solitude and right now she didn't know what else to do. Not even ranting in her diary would help.

She pulled out one of the chairs left in the room and sat on it, curling her legs to her chest and hugging them while letting her long toes hang over the edge.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs looked over at Amaya, and peered at her as she sat down. He pondered if she was okay, she didn't seem too happy for some reason, even with the smile.

" Yeah uh... every umm morning.. she wakes me to .. well see the sun rise... Poor girl had some umm... bad nightmares... so I gave her Mr.Kong"

Chubbs took the other seat, spun it around backwards and sat on it, resting his arms on the backrest.

" So.. you ah.. missed me well.. that much.. I got a visit hmm?"

Amaya Vaughan
"Awww, that's sweet." Amaya smiled, resting her chin on her knees. "I've actually been missing everyone recently..." She trailed off, the smiling fading. "I didn't have a very pleasent experiance so I cooped myself up in my room for almost a week, then when I came out today I got into a fight with Lauren." Closing her eyes, she let out a sigh.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs rested his chin on his hands and with a sad face, raised a brow. He hadn't heard the name before, and wondered what the fight was about. He thought while he listened of how to rememedy Amaya's troubles

" Who's umm she?"

Amaya Vaughan
"Lauren?" Amaya looked at him and gave a tiny shrug, her voice slightly muffled by her knees. "She's been here even before me. I've bumped into her a few times and every time we seem to get into a fight. I think she's a little older then me, was picked up from the streets or something." The words were said with a tinge of spite, indicating she did not like her.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs scooched his chair closer to Amaya, shimmying across the carpet. He got close enough to pat her hand and with the other, open up the mini fridge, and pull out two bananas. He offered her one.

" Is umm... that what happened? I mean... now?"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya nodded, taking the offered banana with a tiny 'thank you'.

"Yeah, but it was a lot worse then before. It was like a screaming match and if it hadn't ended, we probably would have ended up punching each other or something." She slumped, tearing a slit of the peel open with her thumb claw and then pulling it back with her other two fingers. Now that her hands were so large, she found it easier to try and do things with her fingers instead of her entire hand.

"She was saying how pathetic the people who couldn't handle the truth were and I got really mad. I started screaming at her. I told her that Moreau was ripping people from their lives when he should have just been getting people like us who don't have a home to go back to... but she just kept saying how everyone deserved to go through what we went through..." She sighed, slicing a piece of banana off with a claw and popping it into her mouth. Mmm, yummy fruit.

"In the end she said she actually enjoyed watching all this suffering. I called her sick and left..."

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs stared blankly at Amaya, his face was wide eyed and he was frowning. Chubbs mouth hung open like he was in shock, he was definately angry, and couldn't believe it. How could anyone sit there and say anyone on the island deserved this s**t. That was horrible, what a filthy b***h!

" Don't umm... for her sake.. just never point her out to me... I don't want to break one of my own rules"

Chubbs shook his head and started peeling his banana

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya gave a forced laugh and popped another piece of banana in her mouth. "I won't, but it's pretty hard to not know who I'm talking about if you see her. She's pretty much the only one on Moreau's side completely." She shook her head, not understanding why someone would want to be on his side.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs too a great big bite out of the fruit and shook his head again, chewing alot. When he got to swallow it, he spoke again.

" Well the b***h can have him"

Chubbs was a little upset, but he took a sigh, blinked and patted Amaya's hand again.

" Admire ya though.. for um... well walking away"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya gave an honest laugh at the whole 'b***h can have him' thing.

"Thanks..." She gave a more genuine smile. "I don't normally get that mad, though... even for things like that." A shiver went up her spine out of how strange it felt to her. "It was like I had a major case of PMS or something." She scoffed a little at herself. "The days I was by myself I read up on green iguanas... they're solitary and have a quick temper... I think the DNA is effecting me more then just my apperance and eating habits." Amaya slumped in her seat slightly, taking a bite from her banana.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs nibbled at his banana, looking over at Amaya, wondering it he too would fall under animal instincts. He read up about the three animals he would get to know closely.

" Never,... really knew that... ummm... I ah.. know all three of mine have well... massive temper problems"

Chubbs scratched his chin, taking another bite.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya winced at the thought of Chubbs turning into some monster. She took another bite out of her banana, then gave a tiny laugh.

"Least we'll both go through kind of the same thing then, eh?"

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs, nodded and chomped the last bit of his banana, sending the peel over his shoulder and into a waste bin with out looking. He looked at Amaya, she came here cuz she had problems, and wanted to get away from them. Chubbs tried to make her laugh again.

" I can see it.... a know.. like i'll drop a spoon, and you'll er.. be all over me mauling me... wait... oh man that sound wrong"

Chubbs chuckled and blushed, he'd always find the innuendo in anything.

Amaya Vaughan
Even though that was a scary thought and she didn't know if that really would happen, she laughed for Chubbs sake more then her own. He was trying to make her feel better after all and in a way, it was working.

Once her laughter died down she sliced off more banana and ate it. "Something else happened before my fight with Lauren too..." She hated making herself the center of conversation, but right now she just had to tell someone.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs settled his laughter down and raised a brow. He wondered what happened. Sometimes he wished he was part animal by now so he could have some insight into helping the paeople that come to him.

What.. umm happened?"

Amaya Vaughan
"Well... uh..." Amaya finished her banana and tossed it into the waste bin with two fingers. "I bumped into someone new, I dunno her name. But when she realized I wasn't wearing a costume she... she fainted." She deflated, frowning.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs held her hands gently and then motioned towards the ceiling. Chana had been the only new girl he'd known of, he figured it had to be her. He pittied Amaya, not for her state but the fact she had to reveal the secret so many times

" Guess who umm.. lives up there?"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya blinked and looked to the ceiling. "... Oh jeeze." She sighed a little. "Does she know yet? Even when I told her I don't really think she believed me... I couldn't even do anything but leave because I would probably just freak her out even more."

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs wondered that himself.

" Well Joliette told here umm.. bout well the isladn... and ah...what's goin on. She didn't believe Joliette so I heard, .. I ah.. I hadn't met her yet.. but umm I guess it'd be .. well.. sinking in.. ya know.. when she wakes"

Chubbs remembered the day Amaya told him about what was going on, he still thanked her for it, she helped him alot. He squeezed her hands gently.

" I'll umm... I'll have a talk.. when I can to her.. you ah.. you don't you worry bout a thing okay?"

Amaya Vaughan
"I see..." Amaya nodded. "Alright." She wasn't sure what else to say, eyes looking at Chubbs' normal hands holding her own. Her frown deepened at how disfigured and different they looked from a normal person.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs followed her frown and looked at her hands. At first he thought it was him, but he'd knew Amaya hated her look and she wasn't adverse to holding his hand. Chubbs let go of one hand, and while blushing, patted the one he held.

I .. I like em... make ah... nice banana peelers... and umm...you can scratch that b***h's face if she.. umm.. well pisses ya off again.. ahh you got more hand to hold onto.... ooo! and ya don't have to reach too far to scratch ya bum!"

He smiled a little, tring his best.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya laughed, her free hand curling and going into her lap. "Well yeah, guess they do have advantages like that." She gave a small smile.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs grinned and blushed, still holding her hand, he rose from his seat and held out his arms.

" And ya know ... umm ya might just be able too .. ah.. hug Chubbs all the way round"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya smiled and stood, hugging him and actually able to hug him all around. "Thanks Chubbs... you always know how to cheer me up."

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs smiled and hugged her in return, patting her back softly.

" It's okay.. I umm.. gotta be good for .. well something?"

With a grin he gave her a big hug, lifting her off the ground as he did.

Amaya Vaughan
"Hey, everyone is good at som-AH!" Amaya squealed and flailed her legs a little, giggling as she was lifted from the ground.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs chuckled, spun her around with him on the spot and put her back onto her feet softly. He liked the giggle he heard, made him feel alot better.

" Hope ya feel better now"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya grinned, having not been able to have someone lift her up like that for a long, long time. "Lots better." She looked up at him and gave him another quick hug. "Thank you Chubbs, really."

After the hug, she started towards the door. "Well, I better leave ya alone to maybe get some shut-eye. Colche'll probably want you to go see the sunrise again." It was starting to get into the early evening already.

Chubbs MacKraken
Chubbs was surprised by the second hug and hugged her in return, he really liked hugs. He waved to Amaya and chuckled as she left out the door, knowing it wouldn't be long before the kitty girl arrived.

" Yeah.. i'll take a cat nap"

He smiled and shut the door behind her as she left.

H.A.D
(Amaya meets up with Hargun and Joliette in the cafeteria)

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette peeked into the cafeteria hoping for it to be empty and was in luck... it was empty. With a sigh of relief she slips in, she was hungry, popcorn simply was not tying her over. She wanted a good sized salad and a piece of pie. She wore still the shorts and t-shirt she had put on the night before, both of which Hargun had given her a couple days previous. But hte most noticeable difference in her was her long curly... green hair... Something she didn't exactly want to show off.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya had been spending most of her days alone, oddly enough. She wasn't sure if it was her 'instincts' kicking in or not, but she didn't really mind it. Sure, some part of her was yelling and screaming that loneliness was awful, but... augh, don't think about it.

Most of her time had been spent making dolls or practising her footwork with her new feet. She couldn't go on the flat of her feet anymore, it made too much of a differeance in her height and walking with them made her feel like a penguin. Over the past few days she had ventured to the cafeteria to find no one there... like she was meant to stay alone.

With a heavy sigh, she pushed open the cafeteria doors. Amaya didn't look up at first, expecting it to be empty again but this time it wasn't. Upon a quick glance around the room she spotted someone with green hair. Being it from behind, she didn't know it was Joliette and froze. Crap another new person she didn't know?!

Hargun Aikason
Hargun threw on her sunglasses, and pushed her way out the door. Talking with people a lot lately, and doing so many helpful things lately for her friends made her feel quite positive and almost cheery.

She hummed a song she had recently got in her head as she skipped down to the cafeteria, a silly dance to her step, but her ears helping her notice if anybody was around. The last thing she needed was an embarassing moment to bring her down.

She stopped dancing and hummed a little softer when she entered the cafeteria.

"Oh, heya there, Amaya." she said, and pranced on in towards the food bar, stopping so suddenly when she noticed Joliette.

What... the hell... happened.. to her

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette heard Hargun's greeting to Amaya and she put down her bowl she was serving into Oh no... I guess I just can't have luck at all she thought to herself Might as well get it over with... and brought her hands to her face and turned around then let her hands fall "Hey guys" she said looking to one side, well the one side nobody was just then

Amaya Vaughan
"Oh uh... hey Hargun." Amaya blinked, snapping out of her daze and realizing it was Joliette. Woah, her hair looked... different. After grabbing a salad she walked over to her and took a seat. "Hey Joliette." It seemed like she was kind of upset... over her hair? "Your hair doesn't look bad, actually... if that's what your embaressed about." She wasn't lying either. If her hair wasn't so dark she would've dyed her own some funky colour.

Joliette Rigiel
Joli looked towards them, neither seemed to be bothered, almost like Chubbs the night before "No I haven't changed, the git heard me joking with Chubbs, least thats what I figure cause I washed my hair... and this happened" She tried to explain quietly She couldn't help but crack a weak smile at Hargun's comment "Silly" she says and turns to finish grabbing her food heading to join Amaya

Amaya Vaughan
Git...? Sabin? Amaya blinked, using three fingers to hold her fork and stab at her salad still rather clumsily. "Y'mean that Sabin guy put hair dye in your shampoo? What an a**." Gah! Stop cursing! "He's doin' enough to us already, spare the childish pranks." What an immature child. "How come he's picking on you so much?"

Hargun Aikason
Hargun hit the table slightly.

"Yep! I knew it be him. Eek... so.. if he heard you and Chubbs poking fun.. hes probably heard us bitching about him right?" she asked and shuddered. Although he probably wouldnt, she thought maybe hed prank her too. Maybe glue her hardly even fingers to something or switch her sunglasses with some messed up ones.

She turned to Amaya. "Oh he likes her. Shhh." she said and flinched, laghing. "Im kidding. "Sorry. Anyways, how have you two been?" she asked and smiled sweetly, attempting to erase her humorous comments.

Joliette Rigiel
"Yeah he did, and I honestly don't know why he's got it in for me, First hte clothing, then the equipment across the village, then the bathingsuit, then the meat locker and now this... Least I can say I got a punch in there too" she sighs and takes a bite of her salad before continuing "Other then that I'm good... I had my first ever kiss last night"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya laughed, taking a bite of her salad. "Well, we've been making faces ate the cameras for awhile and they haven't done anything to us... yet anyway." She shrugged a little with a smile. "I've been alright, I guess. Been accidently avoiding people and reading up on green iguanas... y'know, the usual. What about you?"

Then hearing Joliette list everything her eyes widdened. "What? He's done MORE then just the clothing and the hair dye to you?!" Her mouth gaped, seeming to miss her last statement.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun looked a bit suprised. "First kiss? Well thats pretty cool!" she exclaimed.

"Ah yes.. one of my favorite pastimes.. making faces at Moreau. Oh, how I bet hes got something so awful waiting for us though.. hes just saving it to tease us and make us feel triumphant I bet." she grinned.

She turned back to Joliette and put on a preppy voice for fun. "So.. so lyke.. who'd you kiss?" she asked.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nodded "Yes, when he sent the darkroom stuff it was delivered to Jamal's place, and then there was teh dissolving clothing, which I fell for since they looked and felt normal. Then I ran off and he came and got me fromt eh jungle, I punched him, he made me sleep and hung me in the meat locker, and now the hair... I'm sure I'm missing something but I don't even wanna try and remember it..." she caught Harguns question and blushed lightly "Chubbs" she admits

Amaya Vaughan
Well, at least Hargun could still get her to laugh and stop being all angry. "Probably, knowing him." She took another bite of her salad while listening to Joliette. "Jesus, what an a**- Chubbs!?" Amaya perked up, grinning. "Awww, that's so CUTE!" She giggled, waving a large hand towards her.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun laughed at Joliettes blushing. "Aw, yea, that IS cute." she said and tossed a few ants in her mouth.

((oye.. short post xD))

Joliette Rigiel
"He woke me up with flowers this morning, not sure where he's off to now, he wont tell what his little project is. " Joliette blushed more and stabbed at her salad trying to stop the blushing but failing miserably

Amaya Vaughan
"Awwww, how sweet." Amaya grinned from ear to ear, truely happy for the two of them. "It seems like everyone is hooking up, eh?" She smirked to Hargun, eating some lettuce. "I mean, Ambrose and Angelina slash Emelyn, Greer and Mister Dude, Joliette and Chubbs, who else?"

Hargun Aikason
Hargun shrugged. "I cant quote think of anyone else. But those are three cute couples." she smiled and patted Joliette lightly on the back.

"Good for you two. Youre lucky now to have someone like that around during such a crappy a** time. Maybe you could get him to kill Sabin" she said and ate a few more ants.

"Hmm.. have you found anyone that strikes your interest yet?" she asked Amaya.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette laughed "Yeah I know he wouldn't mind kbeating hte stuffing out of the Git, mind you I wouldn't either, and if I hadn't gone asleep I might have been able to do more damage..." she agrees then looks to Amaya "Yeah you've been here a while, has anyone caught your eye as yet?"

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya nodded in agreement with Hargun, then raised a brow. "Me?" She snorted, laughing a little. "Nah, most the guys here are a little old, no offense to 'em. What about yooou?" After taking another bite from her salad she gave a sharp-toothed grin at Hargun.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun nodded, chuckling a bit. "Yea, theyre all over our age. And if I had met a guy here around my age, wed probably just be best friends. I never was a relationship person."

She then stood up kinda triumphantly. "Single and proud." she giggled and sat back down. "Although theres always the chance I might just meet a guy Id like enough to get into a relationship with. At the rate Moreau's dragging people in.."

Although hes hardly brought any guys in as compared to the amount of women... pervert.

Joliette Rigiel
"Theres always possibilities I suppose, after all, unless we find a way off the isle, we are here for the rest of our lives." she sighs "I wish he'd stop bringing people though, I'm going to have to say I dont wish this fate on anyone at all"

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, same here. I've never been in a relationship before... all of the guys I met were my friends and nothing more." Amaya shrugged a little, not really caring about it. "And even though it's a nice thought, I'd rather be single and proud forever then have Moreau drag young guys here to go through all this crap." She nodded towards Joliette in agreement.

Hargun Aikason
"Yea thats true." Hargun said and felt a little bad for bringing up Moreau's obsession with 'people'.

"So... anyone got any plans to get off this island yet? Or kill Moreau or something?" she asked leaning back in her chair and clawing around the supports under the table with her clingy toes.

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette shakes her head "Nothing new, just all our normal 'what ifs' Beyond that I'm stumped, I'm not a strong swimmer so that is out for me" she leans an elbow on the table and spears at her pie eatting some of it

Amaya Vaughan
"I've thought about it every now and then, but so far... nothing, really." Amaya shrugged while taking another bite from her salad. "I know this sounds awful, but if the circumstances were different I'd love to just stay here. I have more friends and a sort of dysfunctional little family here. Though I do what all of you guys to go back home to your old lives... I think our best bet would be for someone to come like you did." She motioned her head towards Joliette.

Hargun Aikason
"Yea, and beat them to the boat." Hargun said and glanced at Joliette. "Or we could build a typical raft.. use Sabin's hair to tie it together." she grinned and sighed. "Ah, but that wouldnt happen."

"The best conditions for us getting out of here would be one, the boat.." she said, and nodded. "..two, at night.. when at least MOST of the staff is probably asleep; if not we'll have a bit of cloaking, and three a storm, or a group of people, or something that would work as an defensive mechanism, so we could get on, get out and go before the staff could stop us."

Three miracles that were surely not going to happen.

Joliette Rigiel
"As much as I agree with you, a big group of people probably wouldn't help, Thee git told me when I first messaged throught eh intercom that had I ran instead of falling for his trick, there is security with boats and ... guns" she sighs picking at her food more

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya nodded to all of Hargun's ideas, then stopped in mid-chew and gulped. "... Guns?" She physically deflated. "Jesus... he'd kill us? Just like that?" Well, he was certainly cruel enough there was no doubt about that.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun snorted. "Rather be shot than left in a prison like this all my life." she said and threw a few more ants in her mouth.

"I know though, that nobody would know about the secret here until it was too late, but still.. if someone was threatening you like that, youd kinda figure you were in for something pretty bad."

"I will admit though, the group of people was a silly idea. But make that group of people the army, the navy or whatever THEN it would be REALLY great."

Joliette Rigiel
"It was more a threat of being brought here by force if I had run..." She nods and agrees "A Military force of some kind would be wonderful, not to mention exposing what has been going on here, I wish I could, I suppose it's part of why I want to captuer as much of it as I can on film, I don't know what will be come of any of us when we hit the later stages, aren't you two of hte people with the highest achieved percentage"

Amaya Vaughan
"Yeah, but what would the army or navy do after they won? What would happen to us?" Amaya frowned, nodding to Joliette. "As far as I know Ambrose, Greer, Cassidy, Hargun and I are the ones furthest along."

Hargun Aikason
Hargun sat back up after finishing the last of her ants and leaned over the table surface, almost laying her head down on it.

"Yea.. those and us. Its pretty easy to tell the difference between the people whove had their first change and those with their second." she yawned.

Oh crap.. what about our NEXT transformation? And... maybe theres more after that? Ugh.. its hard enough as it is..

Joliette Rigiel
"Perhaps let us live here without the feer of being changed more, have freedoms we dont have now, I don't know" she sighs and pushes her empty plates away "Thats kinda like what will happen to us if we manage to get off the island and escape, we're in teh same boat one way or the other"

Amaya Vaughan
"... Oh, and Colche." Amaya added, poking at her salad. "I don't think they'd be nice enough to just let us live here... they'd probably take us back and experiment on us or something to find out how whatever Moreau is doing worked, then use it for military purposes." She grimaced at the thought.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun frowned. "Ughharhgh.." she made a disgusted sound.

"Poke and probe at us.. stick us in Area 51.. then yea. Use us in the military." she stood up again and saluted. "Sir yes sir.. we'll use the bat girl, the lizard girl, and sea lion man to attack them by air, land, and sea. We'll call it.. operation 'H.A.D.'!"

She couldnt help but laugh at herself for comming up with such a great acronym, then turned to the same disgusted face. "That would really.. suck. So who COULD we trust to come and rescue us, if at all? Because yea, itll be the same thing wherever we go."

Joliette Rigiel
"I don't think we could trust anyone now that you put it that way, so I think rescuing is out of the question, it's now a matter of us being in control rather then feral... Question is, how do they aredy have such control over us that all they say is 3 words and we fall asleep" Joli asked tapping hte table, she wanted to figure that out, even if it turned out they couldn't do anything about it.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya laughed at Hargun, finishing her salad. "Awsome acronym. But yeah..." She trailed off, itching the back of her head with a finger. "I really can't think of anywhere else we could possibly go. Even the people already here that haven't changed got that injection... they say if we leave before it's over we'll get cancer."

Huffing, Amaya crossed her arms and leaned back in her chair. Her long fingers curled about as did her toes around one of the bars of the table to allow her to lean back and forth on the chair legs. "Good question. I have NO idea. The only things I know that are able to put people to sleep are something like sleeping gas or... something."

Hargun Aikason
"Hmm.. sleeping gas, really?" Hargun looked curiously. "I never heard about that, but after taking into consideration, they havent put anything in what we eat that could cause them to have control."

She finally set her head down on the table and swung her legs slowly. "Thats always bothered me though, the events that have lead up to them using that sleeping thing. Its like, the only thing to trigger it is to come in physical contact with one of the staff members. But then theres Vasile.. from what Ambrose said, he didnt really do anyhting to the b*****d Moreau and he put him to sleep."

She chewed on her tounge slightly. "I kinda... wish itd happen to me. JUST so I could probably figure out what it was before I passed out." she glanced at Joliette. "You didnt feel anything particular anywhere did you? Or where you too busy concentrating on getting another hit on Sabin?"

Joliette Rigiel
"Thats just it, I felt nothing, it's like I blacked out, I heard his words and that was it, I dont remember anything else between when I heard the words and when I woke up in the.." she shivers slightly "...meat locker" she jut her thumb in that general direction "I'll admit I was about to kick him... but still, nothing...."

Amaya Vaughan
"Poor Vasile." Amaya sighed, wondering how the guy was doing... she haden't talked to him since that one day on the beach. After listening to both of them she frowned. "Odd, you'd think you'd feel something... but you blacked out RIGHT away without him touching you or coming in contact with you, right? That's gotta mean that whatever does it is inside us and voice activated... right? Can something inside us BE voice activated?" It seemed unbelievable... but then again, here they were on an island being turned into animals.

Hargun Aikason
Hargun groaned. "Thats the only thing it COULD be. The clues only seem to add up. Just wish we could figure out where particularly whatever it was could be.."

She sat up and looked at the door. "I should head back soon. This is going to take a LOT of serious thought. Besides, theyre probably listening in on us as we speak... and Im sure this is something they wouldnt have wanted to be revealed.. even IF we dont know what it is yet.."

Joliette Rigiel
"I punched him it knocked his wind out, he looked up at me with angry eyes and soon as he could spit hte words out he said it, thats it, thats all there was to it" she sighed and looked at Hargun "All right, I don't want to keep you if you have to go, as for them listening, I have a feeling there isn't anywhere they aren't"

Amaya Vaughan
"I should actually go soon too, I can't stay in the air conditioning for very long." Amaya frowned and sat back up straight in her chair.

Hargun Aikason
"Yea. We know for sure theyre always watching." she said, grinning as she gave the ceiling a vulgar gesture like she usually didbefore leaving a building.

"Well then Im gonna head back now. See you two. Stay out of trouble.. especially you, Joliette. Theres no doubt Sabins probably got SOMETHING else waiting for you."

She waved and headed out the door to her duplex.

((wraaaap ^^ bedtime now! xjkfaljfla D: ))

Joliette Rigiel
Joliette nods and waves "Laters Hargun" she looked to Amaya "That must suck, Especially if you got used to being able to before the changes started. I don't know what is in store for me, but I dread it " she sighed "Well I guess I should get ready to go too, I have a couple things I want to do in the darkroom while Cuhbbs is busy with his own project"

Amaya Vaughan
"I'll see ya later, Hargun." Amaya smiled and waved a large hand as her friend left. "Yeah, it does but y'know... one adapts." She shrugged a little, standing and grabbing her bowl with both palms. "I'll see ya later, tell Chubbs I said hi." With another smile she bussed her tray and exited the cafeteria.

Loosing A Sister...
(Amaya finds Colche in the jungle and things do not go well)

Colche
Colche woke quietly, her big blue eyes opened to the mid after noon sun and she yawned, her fangy teeth flashing in the sunlight. Licking her lips she uncurled herself from her sleeping possition shaking her head so that ehr ears seemingly unstuck from her cheeks. After a moment or two of contemplation, she stretched and sat up, gazing up through the open canopy at the perfect blue sky. She liked living out here she loved the sky and the sun and the stars in the evening, she felt safe, she was alone as she was supposed to be.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya had woken up somewhat early today without meaning to and after grabbing some orange juice and a banana for breakfast she walked out into the jungle. She could feel how much the tempature had changed and even though she still got her daily dose of sun, she knew that it had gone down a lot. After all, it was December.

Man... she would never see snow again and even if it DID snow, she wouldn't be able to play in it now that she was cold-blooded.

She stopped walking after awhile and climbed the nearest tree in impulse to just hang out for awhile and listen to her CD player. After adjusting herself on her stomach she looked around and spotted something very foreign to the jungle.

"Colche? What's she doing out here?" The iguana said her herself before sitting up to get a better view.

Colche
Colche's ears flickered as she listened all around her. Her lips parted in a quiet hiss as she looked at the rustling bushes, but after a moment or so and with the silence returning she calmed again, the fur on her neck on end though, her mucles tenced, she was ready to bolt if she had to. She hadn't seen anyone for almost a week, she was becoming very used tot he life of a soloist.

Her tail twitched a little, looking around one more time, she relaxed a touch a deep sigh escapling her as she ran her fingers through the thick grassy growth of the small clearing. This was her home now,s he slept under the same tree night after night enjoyibng the sun in the day and the stars at night. She happily let the cheetah run her life after all it probably knew how to survive far better than she. Although she made dawn raids ont he cafeteria for food, she didn't go in tot he villiage or the beach any more, she satisfied her lust to run by chasing lights which the trees dappled from above. Still,s he looked a little sad, her hair a tangled mess, filled with twigs and bits of greenery, her eyes were dark and sad and that old, childish smile was not on ehr face, she looked very sombre, the tear lines on ehr face almost stressing this fact.

Amaya Vaughan
Wondering if the poor girl had gotten lost, she dropped down from the tree and quickly made her way through the brush towards her. Upon getting a few feet away, she spoke up.

"Colche? Hey hun... did you get lost?" She was naked and filthy... oh god, how long had she been out here alone? Green eyes were filled to the brim with worry as she approched, her mouth knitted into a saddened frown.

Colche
Colche stood quickly as she heard the person approach her. Her ears flattened and she hissed again, her eyes wide and frightened as if she really were a wild beast. Her lips stayed parted as she looked at Amaya her tongue lolling a little in a frightened pant. The problem with the jungle was you really couldn't run away very fast, her speed did her no good amongst the crazy branh work. She stood still instead, her legs tence, her lower leg mucles stretched and tenced lookign as if the tendons would snap if she shifted herself.

A part of her said why are you frightened? It'a amayy, and for a breif moment she stopped panting and looked at the lizard woman tilting her head in a catty manner her hugs blue eyes lookign as if she had recognised somone forgotten in her life. She stayed still though, at a distance watching the woman her legs tenced, ready to spring away should she be captured. She didn't want to be captured put back in her duplex, she was free now, free from everything.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya's eyes widdened as Colche... hissed at her. She stopped, alarmed. Oh my god... what happened to her? She was perfectly fine after her second transformation last time I saw her...

Brow furrowing sadly, she walking closer and then kneeled down in front of her once she was free from the brush. Green orbs locked onto Colche's as she spoke. "Colche... what happened? What's wrong?" Her large hands were balled on her lap, making no move to reach out to her.

Colche
Colche looked at the girl, she had a calming voice, shealways had a calming voice. Her nose wrinkled a bit as she looked at amaya her eyes shadowed as if she didn't recognise her, didn't recognise ehr at all as a friend or even somone she knew but breifly. She licked ehr lips nervously, she had let herself loose in to the wild, could she even speak any more? she was just an animal after all. "Free" she spoke at last after a very long silence inwhich she did alot of fidgeting and looking around searching for a place to run. Her ears twitched a bit listening for othersounds, maybe Amaya was here to take her back. A look of alarm sprang to her face then and she frowned "no go back, free, no go back" the pupils of her eyes widened then as a feeling of fright rushed through her body and the hair all along her spine stood up on end. She almost ran then, her heart hammering against ehr rib cage, but where could she run to? This island wasn't big enough to escape any where very far and she would quickly run out of breath and energy. She licked her lips nervously instead her wide blue eyes fixed on the green lizard woman.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya blinked, confused but didn't move towards her at all. "Colche, you've always been free to do whatever you want... or at least until you came here as far as I know." She tried to put herself in her 'little sister's' shoes. "No one will make you go back but... you shouldn't be alone. You should be sleeping in a bed where it's warm."

Colche
"bed bad" she stated simply, she thought she couldn't speak any more and the cheetah in her made ehr tail swish angrilly why was she cow towing to a human? To something that could hurt her she should run. Colche stayed though, stock still her legs a little less tence now as she watched Amaya quietly with sad blue eyes "people hurt" she whispers in a choked up voice"Colche alone, no more people" she whispered the last part as if it was a sin to say it, she had loved so much to be amongst friends, to have a family but everyone had vanished to do their own things, she was better off alone, alone was safe.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya's frown deepened even farther, her gaze looking down at her lap. "I see... someone hurt you? Did I hurt you?" She looked back up, meeting her gaze once more. Her large hands started shaking very slightly, eyes almost one the brim with tears.

Colche
Colche paused for a moment, she frowned and looked very sad. her fluffy ears flattened against her head and she rubbed a hand from her eye to her head, her beautiful blue orbs closing tightly as she thought a tear rolling down those black lines "Noas, amaya nice" she whispers sounding a little choked and frightened her eyes opening once again "people nice, people hurt when nice, no like hurt" she whispers her throat felt like somone was chocking her , her voice coming out in a stranggled whisper as she looked at the lizard woman and slipped down to her knees then, clutching at the greenery around her "don't wanna hurt, alone now, alone sposed to be alone, can't get hurt no more" her eyes turned to the ground then, she didn't want to look at anyone, amaya had never hurt her, noone had hurt her physically, she simply felt that people hurt her no matter how hard she tried to be good and nice, she got hurt, people didn't really care about her at all, she had convinced herself of this now, she was better off alone.

Amaya Vaughan
Thank god... Amaya breathed a sigh of relife, glad that she haden't hurt the poor girl unintentionally. But what Colche said confused her. How could people hurt her when they were nice? "How do people hurt you when they're nice? People love you, Colche. Your like a little sister to me and I would never hurt you. Ever." She then looked at the girl's tail and markings. A... cheetah, maybe? Or a leopard or something? Maybe that was what caused Colche to think she needed to be alone. "Do you want to be alone, Colche or does the cat want you to be alone?" She wondered if the girl would understand.

Colche
Colche frowned at the question. Did she or the cat wish to be alone? At the moment it was a little of both. Her tail lashed a bit her huge blue eyes looking to Amaya "peoples, I no see peoples no more, colche alone always" she hissed a little a catty growl resonating from her throat "Colche alone always, always, ALWAYS!" she shouted the last word though she cringed at her own voice, "better off alones, noone hurts noone friends, noone miss Colche" her eyes turned back to the ground then the growl having faded away to nothing, Amaya was the first person in a week and a half, maybe more whom she had seen, noone came to look for her, noone cared, she'd even visited ehr duplex and noone had been there, not even Aubrey, noone cared if she was alone and the cheetah, the cheeatah that shewas becoming was happy to aggree to being a olitary beast though it too secretly liked to be petted and hugged, to puur and be happy, but, she should be wild and free! Thatw as the way it was supposed to be.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya winced at Colche's shouting, hands balling into fists in her lap and her head down like she was being scolded. "I missed you, Colche... but I thought you were always wandering somewhere since you seem to be very independent now..." She paused and reached behind her, taking off the backpack she sometimes wore. After unzipping it with a finger, she dig around inside. "I've been meaning to give this to you but couldn't find you." It was true she had looked for the girl, but lately she had the worst luck at running into anyone. A single claw raised from the bag, a dark blue dreamcatcher dangling from it. It wasn't very fancy or big, but it was one of the few she had. "This is called a dreamcatcher. It's supossed to catch nightmares and let good dreams filter through and sunlight destroys the nightmares so they don't come anymore... I thought it might help you with your nightmares if you hung it over your bed."

Colche
Colche lifted her head looking at the pretty thing. She tilted her head softly her tail giving a quick flicker as she shuffled closer to the lizard woman her fingers reaching out and touching the thing. "dream catcher" she whispered pulling her fingers back again she started to cry softly "no bed no more." she said it almost as if she had been thrown out of her duplex, asif she had been cast away from her first real home, still, with tears rolling down her cheeks she reached her pale fingers out to carress the object ehr ears flattening "no bad dreams" she whispers looking at Amaya, she wished she had words to tell amaya how she felt, that she felt rejected and alone, that noone cared wheer she was any more, that people she relied on had vanished to who knew where and she felt alone so had acepted it, that perhaps, the last straw was that she had come far too much to rely on men and they simply forgot about her for somone else. Her heart hammered in her chest and she crawled towards Amaya curling up in her lap and weaping softly "no bed, no people, no men, just stars and sun and alone." her ears flattened almost against ehr cheeks as she stated this, did she really want to be alone? something chidded ehr for being a pet to everyone, she wasn't a person, a sister or a friend she was a pet, did she want to be a pet all her life? She should be alone and free. People were nice though and perhaps

Amaya Vaughan
A few tears slipped from Amaya's eyes as Colche crawled onto her lap. Quickly wiping them away with her knuckles she caressed the girl's raven hair and made comforting 'shhh' noises. "It's alright Colche... only you can decide what you want to do. If you really want to be alone, then I can't keep you from that... but people will miss you. I will and so will Chubbs. But your a big girl now. Which means you can come to and from your duplex whenever you want and visit me whenever you want..." She trailed off, making sure she worded what she said the best she could for her to understand. "We're a family, remember? We look after each other."

Colche
Colche sniffled softly "noas, chubbs not miss" she frowned a bit snuggling in to amaya "pretty dreamcatcher" she stays quiet for a moment then enjoying being petted, she couldn't deny she liked to be petted, she was after all just a big kitty. her puurr started then a soft resonating sound which made her body rumble softly "Amaya sister, Colche, no, know, to do" she scrunched ehr eyes tightly shut, she needed help, guidance, somone who simply wanted to spend time with her and not just dissapear or find, somone, else.

Amaya Vaughan
"Your dreamcatcher." Amaya smiled a little and let it slide off her finger into Colche's palms. "It's okay, I'll help you but... what do you mean Chubbs won't miss you? Of course he will." Did something happen with her and Chubbs? The last she had heard the girl would go to his duplex every morning to watch the sunrise with him.

Colche
"no" colche stated, though she held tightly to the dream catcher hugging it to her chest with a silent puurr. her ears flattened tight against her hair and she sniffled "noone care, noone come, noone care!" Her brow creased and she pilled away from Amaya again holding the dreamcatcher to her chest "noone care, noone looks, noone, alone, sposed to be alone" she weapt softly tears rolling down ehr cheeks. Noone had come to look for her, seh ahd been gone for days and noone had even been to her duplex. She was invisable, she had convinced herself of this, the being alone part, well that was just the cheetah saying so, it wanted to be alone, the solitary beast that it was, her state of mind had obviously helped it along. Although she craved to be loved and cared about, it seemed everyone else had other things to worry about so she was alone, always alone.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya frowned, letting her large hands drop into her lap once more. "I was looking for... anyone, really. But I never seemed to run into you. I just figured you were out at the beach or with Chubbs or something." She admitted, green eyes looking at her lap. "How can you be so sure that no one cares for you? You don't think I care about you?" This time she looked up, forcing herself to meet Colche's big blue eyes.

Colche
Colche's ears flattened then lifted slightly as her gaze fell on amaya and a sudden rush of shame flooded over her. She had never felt ashamed or embaressed, only frightened and alone. her eyes droppped to the ground a big tear rolling down ehr cheek "Amaya cares for colche?" she questioned her ears twitching again so that they became V shaped instead of O shaped which they usually were. "Colche alone always Amaya, noone comes, think noone care, noone comes" She repeated ehr last sentence pretty much her blue gaze lifting to look at Amaya, those baby blue eyes, staring in to the green, her beautiful gaze so nieve and innocent completely ripped apart by sadness. She didn't understand alot of things and noone was there to help her to understand so now, now she was alone even though she desperately needed a friend to help her, noone came to give her a helping hand.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya smiled as much as she could, which wasn't a lot. "Of course I care about you Colche, why wouldn't I?" She tried to souch reassuring, obvious not lying. What reason was there not to care for the poor girl? "And I'm sure a lot of others do. Just because they didn't come looking for you doesn't mean that they don't care. They might think your somewhere else safe or with someone else. I doubt many would jump to the conclusion that you ran off into the jungle... since well, it seems like the last thing you'd do."

It was starting to get in the later afternoon and already Amaya could feel the heat seeping away from her body. As much as she didn't want to leave Colche, she would either have to convince the girl to come back with her soon or... leave her here before she found herself too cold to move.

Colche
Perhaps colche did indeed exopect too much from the inhabitants of the island, she expected them to be there, but they weren't, she never saw anyone and it hurt her, hurt her far worse than her abuse, at least she never kid herself about that, but here, on the island, it was supposed to be family, but noone came to see her, everyone was wrapped up in their own little lives and perhaps now she was too. "Jungle safe, no people, just Colche an, an, an trees" she pointed around to the canopy which shaded them. Her ears twitched a little her lips still turned in a sad little frown. "Colche safe out here, safe no more hurt. no more wait" her brow furrowed and she looked at Amaya, turning her gaze to the slowly dimming sky she sighed softly. "nearly sleep time" she stated simply shuffling to amaya she handed her the dream catcher "put on Colche bed? Colche no bed in jungle." she smiled weakly her eyes twinkling with tears, perhaps it was a good bye on her part, perhaps this would be the last bond for her, somone had indeed found her but not on purpose. She was invisable so it didn't matter what she did. Licking her lips she puurred once her gaze lifting to the sky, she knew it was well on in to the afternoon and sunset would happen soon, Amaya would go and she would be alone again just like the beast wanted, perhaps now, she wanted that too.

Amaya Vaughan
Amaya looked down at the dreamcatcher on her large palm and frowned. "You really want to stay out here, Colche...?" She looked back up to her and reached out, pulling the girl into an embrace whether she liked it or not. "I can't decide this for you... but I am going to vist you and I still care no matter what you may think." After pulling away she wiped the tears from Colche's eyes with one of her knuckles, her own tears begining once more.

"I'm sorry I can't stay with you, Colche... but if I stay out here when it gets dark, I won't be able to move. It gets too cold." Green eyes looked down, at the same time furious that she was cold-blooded now and sad because she didn't know if Colche would be alright.

"I'll come back to visit. Stay safe and be a strong girl, okay?" Putting her hands on Colche's shoulders she stared into her eyes for a moment. "Good night, sister." Amaya then stood and with one last regreatful look to her younger sibling, headed back to the duplexes.

Cafeteria Get-Together
(Amaya enouncters Ambrose, Jamal, Angelina, and Rayanna)

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose almost felt like he was emerging from hiding as he walked, slowly, to the cafeteria with Angelina at his side. Between helping Chubb's construction and spending some much-needed time with Angelina since her arrival, he had barely seen any of the other Islanders who had grown quite close to him since he had gotten here.

He had made many quick trips to the cafeteria, briniging Angelina food, or getting food for himself before construction, but never spotted anyone else during his erratically-timed visits.

He wondered how Colche was doing... or Amaya... and he still worried about Emelyn... did she still hate him? And it seemed like ages since he had seen Greer or The Dude. Was Greer still having... issues?

He glanced over to the short brunette at his side. A blessing in disguise, mayhaps... he couldn't believe his eyes when she had come into his duplex... back into his life. And how his heart had panged for her.... but now.... now she was here - he knew the problems it would bring. She was scared, for her ... humanity... for her freedom. And... since her arrival... they had yet to share any real... "quality time". They had hugged, snuggled - certainly. She had even said that he was soft... but... they hadn't even really kissed - nothing more than a peck on his furry cheek. Ambrose was beging to fear that she no longer found him attractive.... no longer saw him as the man she had fallen for.

With a disguised sigh, he walked arm in arm with her quietly to the cafeteria, lost in his thoughts. He gave her another encouraging smile - or at least he hoped it came across like that. She had not stepped foot outside of his duplex for more than a few minutes since her arrival - she was making a big step - coming out with him.

Ambrose also hoped that she wasn't disturbed by his eating habits - that he had gone out of his way to hide from her. Between eating most of his meals at hte work site, or guzzling down some meat while bringing her her tray. He mostly had satiated his hunger before bringing her her meal, during which he could eat lightly with her. He had gone out of his way to tone down the lupine impulses around her - which only made them stand out more to him. Resisting the urge to lick her face, or shake himself dry....

But the longer it went, the more awkward it felt - like he was violating the sacred trust of a relationship - not letting himself be himself - despite how unnatural and artificially-induced these new impulses were.

So it was a big step for both of them.

Stepping through the doors Ambrose gave a small sigh as he saw it was empty of people save for the lunch lady at her typical post. Although... he wasn't sure if it was really relief or disappointment.

Smiling to her, he extended a hand to the food area. "Here we are. I know it's not a very nice restaurant... but.... well, it's the best I could do" he winked.

Angelina Swanson
Angelina was not as brave or as strong as she would like to think she was. She stayed close to Ambrose, hesitantly letting her eyes wander over the setting. She was nervous about meeting other people had changed. She was afraid she would scream or gawk or something else terribly insulting or rude.

She also didn't want to accept that something like that might happned to her.

She gave a tight lipped foced smile and nod to Ambrose, looking over the cafeteria.

Amaya Vaughan
After that rather depressing conversation with Colche, Amaya made her way towards the cafeteria. It was getting to be a little late and she needed to grab something quick before heading back to her duplex.

As she headed into the cafeteria doors, she paused and looked at Ambrose and... some girl she didn't know next to him. Was that Angelina? Oh god. She physically winced, her first instinct to just get the hell out of dodge so nothing bad would happen. But if she had come out here with him then... that meant she was ready to face things?

With a shaky sigh she grabbed a fruit salad and very slowly made her way over, claws clicking on the tile floor as she did so. "Hey Ambrose... long time no see." She forced a tiny smile, one of her large hands holding her bowl in it's palm and the other balled up at her side.

Her tail gave a nervous twitch behind her and she kept her eyes partially down. If Angelina freaked out she really didn't want to see it face on.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya had become a bit of a shut-in since she found Ambrose in the woods. Now that she knew what was going to come of all this (though not enough for her own ease; she didn't get out of Moreau exactly what she was changing into...), she was starting to get a bit... upset. Not really scared, per se, but worried. And to think she would never see New York City ever again.

However, Ray had finally decided to step out of her room for more than a few short minutes and headed off towards the cafeteria. She was rather hungry; she had been eating very little the past week and her appetite was quite voracious. The little snatches of food she normally kidnapped from the cafeteria didn't really do anything to hold her over.

After a short walk, Ray turned to the doors that smelled so deliciously of food and took a deep breath, then pulled the doors open. She didn't look around, merely made her way to the food in hopes of snatching and running once again.

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose was heading towards the lunch line with Angelina and heistantly loading up his tray with meat. There was a set of steaks on the buffet today - some of the pieces particularly rare and juicy that really was catching his attention - particularly after not having eaten since early yesterday when he did construction work with Chubbs.

Finally swallowing his pride, he put four big thick pieces on his plate, after an apologetic look to Angelina.

He turned, a smile widening in surprise as he saw Amaya. "Amaya! It has been a long time! How have you been doing?" he turned to Angelina, gesturing. "Amaya... this is Angelina" He smiled, and turned to Angelina. "Angelina.. this is Amaya. She's a really great person. Even letting me teach her how to fence." He winked at Amaya. "Speaking of... how's that footwork gone?"

Ambrose glanced up as the door opened once again to reveal another familiar familar. Rayanya... the strange woman he had encountered in the jungle and who had called him a werewolf.... but at least... she had eventually seemingly come to understand... and at least it had been he who had encountered her first instead of, for example, Amaya. And strange as it was, he had needed to help someone that day...
He nodded to her, giving her a small wave as he collected his tray.

Jamal_Reedy
The noise and bustle of the cafeteria was only contributed to as Jamal poked his head in, deciding to play "social butterfly" today as opposed to remaining holed up in his room. As of late he'd been feeling pretty aloof and cranky...which wasn't too abnormal for him, but still. He didn't feel completely right.

The first thing he did was search for familiar faces and saw them, which was good...but there was also two strange faces that had to belong to new folk, since they were unchanged like he was. Hm...

Angelina Swanson
Angelina's eyes widened a bit at the four huge steaks Ambrose piled on his plate. She opted not to say anything and got a small peice for herself. She got a sampling of several things, not really because she was hungry but because it gave her somethng to do.

Then a few people started to enter and she nervously looked up. This was it. There was a handsome black man and a goth-looking woman. Okay, she could definately deal with them.

But then there was... she wasn't sure. She looked young, and female. But her face had blotches of green skin and her hands were large and, well, a bit freaky looking. Angelina caught herself staring, her mouth hanging a bit agape as she suddenly had a mental image of herself with long, freakish fingers.

She blinked a few times and swallowed forcing her eyes up to her face. "Nice to meet you Amaya." Instinctually she held her hand out to shake hers, hesitating a bit once she did, wondering how on earth to shake a hand that look like that...

..oh god, they were all going to hate her.

Amaya Vaughan
Hearing the door open twice, Amaya glanced towards it and winced when she saw yet another person she didn't know. Of all the times to come into the cafeteria... As much as she hated to, she tried to just ignore her. After what happened with Chana, meeting people who haden't changed yet scared her probably as much as it scared them to see her. Jamal haden't seen her since she changed either and he... didn't exactly react well. Crap.

Ambrose's rather enthusiastic greeting made her crack a small smile, forcing her to glance at Angelina and nod. "Nice to meet you too." She then gave a tiny laugh. "Not very well, I'm afraid. Even though I've been practising it's hard when your height differs so much." She went on her feet, dropping five inches before standing on the balls of them once more.

Green eyes went to Angelina's offered hand, a bit surprised. Hesitantly she reached out and shook her's with her thumb and three of her fingers. Jeeze, her hand was so tiny...

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya looked around the cafeteria, which was currently the fullest she had ever seen it. Perhaps this was a bad time...

The young woman immediately recognized Ambrose, and she tossed a smile in his direction, but nothing more. Her eyes then shifted to the pretty young woman standing beside him, and finally to the scaled girl. Ray couldn't help but shudder a bit. She sincerely hoped she wasn't turning into that.

Ray was slightly startled when the door opened yet again behind her, and she turned around to face a very... buff black man. Shock was clear in her blue eyes; she never liked it when people suddenly appeared behind her. Combined with the two strangers, this new addition made Ray wonder if she should have left her room...

Ambrose Maurlias
((I think the posting order is: Me-Jamal-Angelina-Amaya-Rayanya))

Ambrose hesitated, a bit of a frown as she drew attention to the awkward problems that her changed feet had brought. "Well... maybe there's something that could be done about it... adjust the stances to cater to your physique...." He swallowed. After all.... wouldn't he have to make his own adjustments eventually? From what he had read about wolves, they walked on the balls of their feet as well. While his feet hadn't changed much... yet... that didn't mean that they wouldn't eventually. "If you're still interested, that is.." He offered.

His tail wagged as he saw them shake. That was a good start, right? He watched Angelina... he could smell her anxiety, and his tail slowed. He wished he could make this easier for her... but how?! It had taken him long enough to seeing the others change - and that was only aided by his own change first...

He sighed, resenting the absence of alcohol. Maybe alcohol could help. He never used to think like that...

He looked up as the door opeend again and Jamal entered. He nodded to him, giving him a wave. On the good side, he was seeing several of the people he had missed recently.... on the downside... he hoped that it wasn't making things worse for Angelina.

"Here, let's go take a seat, shall we?" He offered, walking to a table and setting down his tray, taking a seat behind it and extended inviting hands to Angelina and Amaya, with nods again to Jamal and Rayanya.

He waited before digging in immediately on his stack of food.

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal hardly looked at all troubled by Amaya...perhaps he was comfortable now with all this genetic "bullshit" as he'd taken to calling it. Or perhaps the fact that Awen had changed, thus forcing him to believe this was happening, had given him a good dose of reality. Who knew.

He gave Amaya a stiff nod, showing that he saw her, then gave a wave to Ambrose. Jamal had gotten along alright with him lately, mostly because of the construction with Chubbs, realizing Ambrose wasn't a bad guy.

However, he wasn't pleased at the expression on the stranger that had come in before him. The look in her eye was completely interpretted wrongly as perhaps not shock over being startled, but...well, a completely racial bias. His own eyes narrowed some as he gave the girl a slightly intimidating stare, icy silence, and pushed around her to get at the food bar. After a quick round of grabbing, he turned and went to join the others at the table with his meal.

"Yo," he said flatly to the assembled group as he took a seat. "I ain't neva seen so many peeps in da caf'tera at once."

Angelina Swanson
Angelina look Amaya's hand and gave it a quick shake. The skin was cool and dry, not slimey, but she knew that... she had a pet snake back at home. But still, a part of her brain just didn't want to compute that that was a girl - not an animal.

At Ambrose's suggestion, Angelina nodded, grabbing a can of soda and heading with Ambrose back towards a table. She looked back towards Jamal and Rayanya, focuses on them. They weren't changed, it was easier to deal with. She looked over the thug-ish Jamal. Angelina didn't exactly grow up in the best part of town, so his appearance wasn't very phasing. She looked at his tatoos and stature...

Suddenly her stomach fell as she caught herself admiring Jamal more than she really ought to... She quickly looked away and bit her lip, looking back over to Ambrose. It had been months since she had been... close... to someone, and she hated to admit to herself that it was beginning to bother her. Ambrose hadn't exactly been trying to seduce her recently. But with everything going on, she could see why that wasn't exactly forefront on his mind.

And she couldn't blame him completely. She didn't exactly give him any blazing green lights either. It wasn't that she found him repulsive... just things were do... different. She didn't even know he if wanted her to do anything, or if he just felt too weird. As much as she hated to admit it - she didn't even know how to kiss him anymore.

Gah, why was she even thinking about that right now. What was wrong with her. There lives were being drastically changed forever and she was lamenting to herself about her sexual frustrations?

Get a grip, Angelina, you sould like a sex-crazed little ...

She decided focusing her attention to eating was a better avenue for her thoughs. She looked down to her tray and began to eat, listening to the conversation around her.

Amaya Vaughan
"Oh yeah, I'm still interested." Amaya nodded up to him, looking a little surprised that he might think otherwise. She then gave a glance to Jamal and the woman she didn't know, nodding to them in recongnition before following Ambrose rather quickly. She felt very exposed right now and since he was the only other one changed in the room she wanted to stay by him.

After taking a seat next to Ambrose she started to poke at her fruit salad, holding the fork with three fingers clumsily like she had tried to teach herself. Jamal seemed to be reacting pretty well to her new change, which was a huge relife.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya moved out of the black man's way as he shoved past her, quickly darting her eyes away. Gods, she couldn't believe she just did that... Sighing and fingering the rune around her neck, Ray moved on towards the food.

After investigating the selection a bit she grabbed one of the smaller steaks and started to head to a table until a selection of fruit caught her eye. She rarely ate fruit, but that honeydew looked rather delicious. She contemplated a moment before moving to the buffet and picking up a few pieces, and finally found her way to a table.

A lonely table, of course. Rayanya Felt a bit like she was back in high school: one table was bustling with a crowd that had already known eachother, a group of people who, though some of them were transforming into animals, still looked fairly normal. And she had plopped herself at her own table, to hunch over her food. Rubbing the rune at her throat again, she began to gnaw idly at a piece of honeydew.

Ambrose Maurlias
"Hi Jamal!" Ambrose smiled, oblivious to the looks that Angelina had been giving him. "Yeah... there do seem to be a lot of people here today..." He glanced around the room. "It's kind of nice actually.... in a way." He added quickly to the end after glancing at Anglina. "This is Angelina." He smiled, gesturing to her. "Angelina, Jamal" He returned.

"And excellent, Amaya! I'm glad to hear that. Maybe we could try some things this afternoon. Maybe even start some work with the epee." He grinned.

When Rayanya sat down at the table by herself, he hesitated, glancing curiousy over to her. Did she not feel comfortable sitting with them? Perhaps he overestimated how well she was handling things...

Finally, he picked up his utensils and began cutting up the steaks before taking a wonderful mouthful of juicy... rare... steak...

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal gave Angelina a very slight eyebrow lift, easily picking up the looks she was giving him. Not that he minded at all....Angelina was hardly ugly. However, he was smart enough to not comment on it in front of Ambrose. Jamal might be bigger, but Ambrose could probably do some damage being as he was being turned into a carnivore. Instead, he gave her a very smooth smile and lifted a french fry from his plate. "What up," he drawled. "I take it you be pretty new herr. Doin' a'ight wit' all dis?" She obviously had to know what was going on since she seemed to know Ambrose pretty well.

The black man pointed ignored Rayanya since she hadn't joined their table. That also irked him sufficiently and only confirmed what his first thought was. Perhaps she was too good to sit with a black man? Hmmph. Well, this wasn't the first time and certainly wasn't the last. Nevermind the fact that he was probably 100% wrong on his determination.

Angelina Swanson
Angelina looked up from her plate can gave Jamal that Are you talking to me? look. Trying not to look as dumb as she felt, she shrugged. "Its all pretty hard to swallow. I guess... I don't know. I don't think its really sunk in yet." She looked him back over. "You seem...er, you know. Have you been...?"
Amaya Vaughan
a Vaughan"]Amaya swallowed a piece of fruit and glanced over to the woman again, feeling awfully bad about not inviting her over. But she didn't know her and the thought of the same thing happening again scared her to death. Even though it looked like Ambrose knew her... she still felt very out of place among so many normal people, two of which she really didn't know.

Though as Ambrose addressed her she looked back over to him. "Yeah, that'd be nice." She nibbled a little more at her fruit salad, stabbing a strawberry with her fork. To be honest, she wasn't even sure if she could hold an epee with her new hands.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Giving a small slurp, Rayanya finished off a slice of honeydew and sucked the remaining juice from the effective cup that its rine made. It was, indeed, quite delicious, and she wished she could eat it all day.

She set the rine down on her plate and pulled up a fork and knife, cutting into the steak. Ray kept getting a creeping feeling over her body like the others were looking over at her, which merely reminded her even more of high school. The only difference was that this cafeteria was considerably less populated.

Silently sighing, Ray took a bite of steak and pulled out her notebook and a pencil. Perhaps if she drew something or wrote, she could get rid of the feeling that she was being stared at.

Ambrose Maurlias
Rayanya seemed to ignore Ambrose's silent invitation... maybe she hadn't seen... or hadn't caught the gist of what he was suggesting. He squirmed in his seat a bit. He thought about vocalizing the invitaition, but Angelina was uncomfortable enough as it was with only a few new people. Maybe she'd join them if she felt comfortable enough doing so...

At least Angelina seemed to be opening up a bit to Jamal. Despite an awkward first start, he seemed to be a nice guy. "She's only been here a bit over a week..." He explained to Jamal.

He nodded to Amaya again. "Glad to hear it" He smiled. He grinned to the others. "Anyone else interested?"

Jamal_Reedy
"Been herr damn near two months now...s**t, what be da date anyway? 16th?" He tried to figure it out in his mind as he ate the previously mentioned fry, confirmed his initial guess, then smirked. "Been 'zackly two months since ma sorry black a** got dropped on dis island. I basically know all da s**t dat goin' on herr...took a long time ta believe it though, so I ain't surprised you ain't quite on da same level as the rest o'us. At least ya know people already...it go betta dat way." He flashed her another smooth, charming smile before glancing at Ambrose.

"Ya talkin' 'bout dat fencin' stuff?" the black man said with barely concealed mirth, shaking his head in amused disbelief. Jamal saw fencing as a pansy sport, even if he didn't truely get the gist of it. Hardly sounded like something he'd be into. "...dat's a'ight, I be stickin' wit' da boxin' lessons fo' now."

He'd been getting his lessons during breaks in the construction yard and was getting better day by day, but he was hardly champion at it yet.

Angelina Swanson
Angelina chewed on a carrotstick. "Its been two months?" Angelina thought to herself. "Well, maybe I'll have a little time then. Do you know what they said you were...going to be?"

She looked back over to Ambrose and gave him a small smile. She knew how important fencing was to him.

Amaya Vaughan
For the most part Amaya remained silent, watching Angelina, Ambrose and Jamal talk. She was finding herself becoming less and less of a talker these days... maybe it was because of the iguana inside her, or it could have just been all the going ons in the past few days... she didn't really know.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya began to quietly sketch in her book, taking down little bits of images both from her imagination and from the cafeteria. She found her eyes wandering to the other table, and, chewing another piece of honeydew, she began to draw simple sketches of its inhabitants.

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose's ear flicked back and he gave a rueful twist of his lip to Jamal. "Yeah, I'm talking about fencing again. It's really fulfilling, you know. Much more elegant than boxing." He countered. "It's about precision and speed... not brute strength." He commented flippantly.

He shook his head, though. "But two months... wow, has it been that long, Jamal?" He seemed surprised. "It's been.... nearly four for me...." It seemed longer. His entire life had been turned upside down and closed away from everyone else.

"You alright, Amaya...? You've been quiet." He gave a small smile. Tension... he didn't need tension. He wished he could paint a perfect picture of the island for Angelina.... even though it was anything but that. Everyone seemed to be down or snappy recently... even before he pulled himslf away from a lot of it. Except for when he was working with Chubbs. The guy was sometimes refreshing company admidst everything else. He wondered if that would change when he ... changed. But... no one seemed to have changed recently - even joliette and Jamal... people who had been here a while. Awen too, last he had seen her.. he wondered if that was still the case.

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal grimaced a little at her question and sat back in his seat. "Naw, I ain't asked 'em yet. I ain't so sure I wanna find out. Knowin' them bastards, they gonna pick sum'thin' I ain't gonna like, but it ain't like I kin do nuthin' 'bout it now, so at least right now I kin pretend dis ain't happenin'." He passed a quick look to Amaya and Ambrose in succession, an odd look overtaking his features. "Not like I can really 'scape it when I got peeps like dis 'round. At least I ain't freakin' no more."

He prodded the top bun of his sandwich, feeling an odd aversion for the bread rise in his chest out of nowhere. Mmph...he always liked hamburgers before...

Ambrose did manage to get a bit of a spark back to Jamal's eye with his veiled irritation, however. He lifted his gaze to steadily fall on Ambrose's lupine face and though there was still a good-natured aspect to the black man's face, Jamal clearly wasn't in agreement with what Ambrose said.

"Look, brotha ain't carin' how elegant o' fulfillin' fencin' be. When it come down to it, if someone gonna kick ma a**, I rather know how ta hit wit' just ma fists than stick 'em wit' a fake sword. Plus if ya look at me, ya seein' anythin' elegant 'bout me?" He prodded an arm muscle to emphasize this point, casually flexing at the same time. "These ain't sayin' nuthin' 'bout bein' quick on ma feet. These be sayin' I'll knock a b***h out."

Angelina Swanson
Angelina actually started to open up talking to Jamal. "Thats exactly what I think," she said, leaning forward. "I mean, here I am all paranoid they're going to turn me into a cockroach or something, so I'm too afraid to ask. I figure I can lve in ignorant bliss for, well, at least a little while before I have to face the reality of it all..."

She looked over him again. "Well, if it means anything I hope its not something really, uh... like a slug or something."

She took Ambrose's hand and tried to preimptively calm hiim down from Jamal's insults, while she watched him flex. She could help but shake her head ruefully and shake her head a bit.

Amaya Vaughan
"Huh? Oh, yeah... I'm fine." Amaya lied. A lot of things had happened since the last time she saw Ambrose but right now she didn't want to trouble him with them. Angelina was here, he needed to focus on comforting her through all of this.

She listened to Jamal and Ambrose calmly argue, but didn't interject. Right now she still felt very exposed and out of place. The less attention brought to her the better.

Rayanya VonStrantz
Rayanya had, by now, abandoned what was left of her steak in favor of sketching. She really should head back to her room, but being around other people , though not interacting with them, was starting to grow on her. It must have been caused by all the time she spent shut up in her room...

Ambrose Maurlias
Ambrose ruffled a bit, although there was a smile on his face in response to Jamal's banter. "well, learning how to use a 'fake' sword teaches one how to use a real one. And... anyway, dueling is the gentleman's combat... just... well... people dont' tend to carry swords around anymore. But it still teaches me to be quick on my feet and deflect a blow.." He responded defensively.
"Besides... ladies tend to like a man with a leaner build instead of being all... musclebound... right Angelina?" He grinned to her.
"But I'm glad that you're doing better. Hell, not many people have been changing recently it seems at all... maybe their process is breaking down or something. That would be nice."

HE gave Amaya a couple of patts on her shoulder. He hoped it was true.

"You know.. as strange as it is... it's nearly Christmas. Can you believe that? Not that the weather would make you think so. I don't think it's dropped below Fifty."

He took a few more bites of the steak, nearly polishing off the second one. HIs ears picking up the skritching of Rayanya's pencil on paper, his ears pricked and he looked over to her curiously. SHe was drawing..? His thoughts flashed to Hargun... and her now grossly distended fingers. HE hadn't seen her draw in some time now.... he wondered if she could anymore - or if she had had the courage to try.

Jamal_Reedy
Jamal nodded in agreement with Angelina, casually checking her out as she leaned forward but hopefully not in a way that would get noticed by a third party, i.e. Ambrose.

He wasn't trying to really make Ambrose mad with all his trashtalk on fencing, but Jamal did like to create some controversy when he could get away with it. Arguments like this were commonplace where he was from...that was something he sorely missed. He and his friends used to rip on each other so bad. Maybe it was how he developed a thick skin to most things people said. However, the comment on lean men getting the women, well, that was -highly- laughable. He had many reasons and ways to disprove that.

"Depends on da ladies ya be talkin' 'bout, Ambrose," he said with a sort of cheshire-cat smile, glancing again at Angelina for the briefest moment. "Maybe some of 'em like it...maybe othas just pretend...or maybe they ain't so picky ta just pick guys like you o' guys like me and you just ain't knowin' it."

He passed a look to Amaya and Rayanya also, wondering why they were both so oddly quiet. Rayanya...well, he had his owns thoughts as to why she wasn't saying anything, but he thought he'd remembered Amaya being more talkative.

Angelina Swanson
Angelina snickered, looking between Ambrose and Jamal. "I guess it just really depends on personal preference..."

Amaya Vaughan
After the pats on the shoulder, Amaya finished her fruit salad. "Well... I better go. I can't stay in air conditioning that long anymore." She forced a tiny smile to them and stood up. "It was nice meeting you, Angelina. I'll see ya later." Giving them all a nod, even the woman she didn't know, she then bussed her tray and headed out of the cafeteria.

Just Like A Teddy Bear
(Amaya sees Chubbs in the cafeteria after his change)

Quote:
Chubbs sat in a chair at the cafeteria, he had two hamburgers on his plate and one in his hands he'd been already chewing through about half way. He was getting use to his new teeth, the canines in particular. He'd been feeling a bit better since the day previous, his tail still hurt though, sitting down was a task to take slowly.

Quote:
Gradually Amaya made her way to the cafeteria. After what happened with Colche yesterday she had just wanted to sleep it off and think about what she was going to do to help her. First she wanted to find out why Colche didn't like Chubbs anymore... had something happened between those two? She really hopped not, but what else would have caused her to say that he didn't care about her anymore? With a sigh she walked into the cafeteria, gaze to the floor. If she could barely find anyone how was she supossed to find... woah, luck. Green eyes spotted Chubbs with a smile. Quickly grabbing a salad and a bottle of water she headed over to him, his changes still too out of range to really catch.

Quote:
Chubbs paused mid bite, spotting Amaya, he was kind of embaressed to be caught eating so much. He slowly chewed his mouthful and watched as she made her way over. He remembered Amay had not seen his changes yet, and swallowed. Chubbs hoped Amaya wasn't going to be too shocked at him, but he knew it was coming. He pulled out a chair beside him and bit his upper lip.

Quote:
The closed Amaya managed to get the more she could see that Chubbs had finally changed. Her smile turned to a frown as she sat down beside him. "Hey Chubbs... I'm sorry. How're you feeling?" She would tell him about Colche after making sure he was alright. As much as she didn't want to trouble him, the fact that Colche was out in the jungle on her own she couldn't exactly save for another conversation.

Quote:
Chubbs smiled softly and reached out sith his fuzzy clawed hand and petted and rubbed her shoulder, trying to give her some reassurance. He then gave her a one armed hug then smiled to her.

" There's no need, I'm fine.. just a bit tender in parts"

Chubbs thought about his tail again, cursing the new appendage. He took another bite out of his hamburger and chewed it up.

Quote:
Speaking of tails, Amaya shifted in her seat to accomodate her own. She smiled at the pat and hug before finally poking at her salad. "Yeah, I know how you feel." Chubbs really did look like a bear, there was no mistaking it or trying to ignore it. Slowly she tried to work her way up to telling him what happened. "So how's Joliette?" She smirked, having obviously heard through the grapevine about their relationship.

Chubbs smiled and looked at he plate, the blush present on his face, and also his fur. He guessed the cat was out of the bag about their relationship. Chubbs wondered how it got about though, he never bragged about it.

" She's good... she's umm changed too.. we both did, at the same time... cuz well she sleeps beside me"

Chubbs looked over at Amaya, still blushing and smiled a little. He guessed Amaya she wouldn't take the news so lightly.

Quote:
"Oh... well, danm. I'm sorry for her too. How is she?" Amaya stabbed at her salad and took a bite, seemingly unphased by the fact that they slept together. Despite her innocent demeanor she approached sexual topics much like an adult would when it was supossed to be serious. Though she of course joked about it a lot due to the fact she had never even been kissed before.

Quote:
Chubbs finished off the remainder of his first hamburger and started on his second, getting a good bite.

" She's umm okay.. obviously like others umm.. she's a bit unprepared, not like I was. "

Chubbs sighed and took another bite. The animals he got were very similiar in aspects, it was hard to tell which parts where which.

" We are trying to work out what she is becoming... It looks kind of similiar to you, with a tail, flicking tongue and scales"

Quote:
"Aw, really? She's turning into a reptile?" Amaya sighed, poking at her salad. "That sucks... well, are her hands or feet any bigger? Or does her tongue look like this?" She stuck her own, large, round pink tongue out before sticking it back in. Maybe she was turning into the same thing...? Though it was probably unlikly since everyone seemed to be changing into something different.

Quote:
Chubbs took a moment to picture joliette in his mind. He automatically smiled, seeing the girl that made him so very happy. He waited till he had finished chewing his hamburger to speak.

" She's gotten smaller fingers though... and her tongue is forked and yellow"

Quote:
"Smaller fingers...?" Amaya sighed, taking another bite of her salad and finishing it before talking again. "Well if it's any reassurance she's definatly not turning into a green iguana. But a yellow tongue...? I dunno... I have some reptile books in my room still. I'll look it up and see if I can come up with anything for ya."

Quote:
Chubbs leaned over and kissed Amaya on the forehead and smiled.

" I'd appreciate that hun, really would"

He took another bite of his burger, he was getting through it quite rapidly. He'd been feeling very hungry since yesterday.

Quote:
"It's no problem." Amaya gave him a genuine smile before drinking some of her water. For a moment she stayed silent, tossing the question over in her mind before finally asking him. "Hey Chubbs... did anything happen between you and Colche? To... y'know... make her upset at you or anything?"

Quote:
Chubbs blinked and stopped eating and turned to look at Amaya. He hadn't seen Colche since the beach when he went for some help.

" No .. not that I... ah... you seen here? She okay?"

Quote:
"Yeah but... I dunno." She frowned, placing her bottle back on the table. "I haden't seen her in awhile but I just assumed she was wandering around the island, y'know?" Green eyes looked to Chubbs, filled with worry. "But when I went into the jungle I found her... she's been staying there for who knows how long alone. She seems really upset and I couldn't convince her to come back to the duplexes..." Her voice dropped low, ashamed she haden't done more.

Quote:
Chubbs' brow frowned with worry and he put the burger down, dusting off his hands. Something must have happened to Colche.

" I ... she was on the beach once.. I hadn't seen her for a while, she use to wake me each morning to go to the beach. Well um yeah, she was saying goodbye to me and was crying.. she didn't want a hug either. I ran to get help, I thought she was going to well... do something drastic."

Chubbs sighed and rubbed his forehead. thinking about how worried he was back then.

" I tried to get help from the docs, I got back and she was gone... but the docs said she was okay. I dunno... I mean... maybe it was her dreams... I said to her I'd protect her from the bad ones.. maybe she's mad at me for that"

Quote:
"I dunno. I gave her a dreamcatcher when I finally meet her for them but she just told me to put it on her bed... so I did." Amaya sighed, her head hanging. "I'm thinking about contacting Aubrey... one of the staff. From what Colche and others have told me, I think she's the one helping her and stuff." Holding the fork with three fingers she stabbed at her salad and ate some more.

Quote:
Chubbs sighed and looked to his plate, leaning back in his chair and folding his arms.. It was a bad move and he winced as he bent his tail some. He wondered what happened to the carefree happy colche he knew and loved.

" Please do, if you can.. I want to know she'll be okay"

Quote:
"I will right when I get back. Hopefully I can get ahold of her." Amaya nodded, finishing half of her salad.

Quote:
Chubbs sighed, smiled lightly and then gave Amaya a big hug. She was one of the most wonderful people he knew ever in his life.

" I would have loved to have had a sister like you"

Quote:
Amaya blinked, having not expected a hug. After swallowing what was in her mouth she gave a tiny laugh and hugged him back. "And I'd have loved a brother like you... but it's not like that's not possible. I've formed a family here, even thought it's not biological family."

Quote:
Chubbs chuckled a bit and nodded, still giving her a warm bear cuddle. Amaya was pretty close to a family as he ever had. He would be there for her then, where ever he could. She meant a lot to him.

" I know, it's good to have one"

Quote:
Amaya's smile widdened as she snuggled into him. He was warm, which was rather comfortable compared to the horrible air-conditioning in the cafeteria. "Y'know what...? It's almost Christmas. I almost forgot because their isn't any snow."

Quote:
Chubbs grinned lightly and looked down at her, patting her back lightly. She seemed to enjoy his hug, he liked to give them anyway. Christmas was not far now, and the final touches to his gift were being done.

" Yeah I umm thought about it , hmm a month ago now.. I've been working on a christmas present since then"

Quote:
"Oh?" She looked up at him, one eyebrow raised and a look of surprise on her face. Amaya had actually been working on something as well... though it wasn't as big as Chubbs' project.

Quote:
" Mmmhmm, you umm seen the new area put up near the beach there?.. yeah ah.. that's what I've been making... well.. we've been... Me, Ambrose and Jamal."

Chubbs moved back to a one armed hug, eating his hamburger again finally. The hunger finally getting back to him.

Quote:
Amaya withdrew from the hug to allow Chubbs to eat, as well as finish her own salad. "Yeah, though I didn't get too close to it... thought it was something the staff was up to." She smiled. "Must be pretty big if all three of you are working on it and need a whole area blocked off."

Quote:
Chubbs grinned at her cheekily and took another bite. The staff only gave the supplies, the three guys were the ones behind it all. It was a strange gift, but he hoped people liked it.

" It'd ruin the surprise for christmas day if you people saw us building it"

Quote:
"I guess it would." Amaya stuck her tongue out at him, but kept smiling.

Quote:
" You all just have to wait... it was kinda based on an idea I was going to make for Joliette. I wanted to make her something special"

Chubbs smiled bashfully at the thought.

" It was even before we were together, she doesn't know what it is yet"

Quote:
"Awwww, that's so cute." She grinned, reaching up to pinch one of his cheeks between her long knuckles. Amaya refrained from using her fingertips a lot due to the large black claws on the ends of them.

Quote:
"Awww quit that you!"

Chubbs looked at the floor, smiling and blushing brightly, his fur turning slightly reddish

Quote:
Amaya giggled, highly amused by his knack at being embarassed at almost everything. Finishing her salad, she stood up and awkwardly scooped her bowl up in both of her hands. "Well, I better go. It's starting to get too cold in here and I need to get ahold of Aubrey if I can... tell Joliette I said hi." She gave Chubbs one last hug after moving the bowl over to one of her palms. "If either of you need to talk, feel free to come to me okay?" Patting him on the shoulder with one of her huge hands she bussed her tray and headed out.
