Barry chuckled.
"For some reason, I get the irking feeling you've never been on a beach with...any Urisk." He turned his eyes upward and grinned at Taavi.

Taavi grinned.
"So? Doesn't change the fact that I'm here with a handsome one right now." He grinned, craning his head down to kiss Barry's forehead.

Bary caught his head and leaned up to give him a quick peck on the lips before laying back down.
"And I with an extremely handsome Merman." It was strange to say that, even being a supernatural creature himself.

Taavi laughed, leaning his head back in the sand.
"Glad you think so, Barry." He smiled, again petting the ears. Mmm. "I'm an oldie, though."

Barry snorted.
"So am I, Taavi. So am I. 66 come the winter solstice."

Taavi smiled, twirling some of Barry's hair.
"I was born in midsummer, but I'm not sure what year. My parents didn't keep records." He smiled. Horrible parents. "My older child is in her late thirties, so I should be at least sixty. Probably more."
And how strange it was for them to be talking about something like that, when neither looked near sixty."

To Barry, it was normal.
"You see no aging in Urisks. Not after the first four years. It shows more in me. I'm less..." He paused. How to put this nicely...?
"...hairy."

Taavi grinned slightly, hand going town to touch his chest. Less hairy indeed!
"Mmm, most mermen from my tribe stayed at a middle age appearance for most of their life. You don't really see any change until they get into their last hundred years or so."

And it was then that Barry realized that Taavi was not at all immortal, as previously thought. Hm. How unnerving...
"Interesting," he said with a nod.

Taavi didn't seem to notice anything, just kept touching gently. He smiled and kissed his neck.
"We're strange little beasts. I'm sort of an outcast, so I haven't seen my clan in some time."

"We should go to Ireland," Barry said, smiling, "I could introduce you to my family." Granted, the only time they were ever all together was during the White Day...

"Good." Taavi grinned. "You met Cal already. Siska's fairly easy to get along with, but Veli is... Very touchy feely. Bit stupid. Love him to bits, though."

"Alright. Thanks for the warning,"he said and snickered. Oh, Barry...you didn't know Veli...
