Sorry to get off topic, but I almost -died- when I got to the part about bringing lolcats to the RNC, and meme trolling the debates rofl I wish I could be quoted on something that awesome.

Anyway! Obviously my many hours on 4chan have not been wasted XD.

Actually, my boss writes too. He took my friend Jen and I out to lunch because it was her birthday and I broke 200K words. Jen and I are pals, we chase each other around the office with squirt guns and stuff.

For the record, I work in the most surreal office outside of Silicon Valley. We get puppies and beer with our staff meetings.

I think maybe I must give off some sort of strange person pheromone...

LOL! Soon as I figure out how. The experiments steaming myself and condensing the steam just made me wrinkly and mad.

I didn't REALLY do any writing last night. I input a lot of notes though. I was mainly messing around with one of the big fileshare posts in my LJ. I got everything all neatened up and reposted and I was saying to myself, "Gee, I bet the gang on Gaia would LOVE this!"

. . .

And then I remembered that's a no-no on Gaia to post that sort of thing. SIGH. And I can't unlock my LJ post 'cause I'm trying to minimize the evidence and all.

Bottom line, I thought of all of you! And didn't get any work done.

Still waffling about what to write next. I was so sure and now I'm so not. Ah well. Back to molesting the current MC.

I got new glasses today for the first time in five years. My old ones fell off of my face twice and onto the pavement. Twice. The second time they broke. Luckily, the second time I was standing in front of an eye doctor's office! A very fast one too. I can already see again and all of this only happened a week ago. I'm delighted. Still getting used to the new scrip though. But it's like... I can EFFING READ AGAIN. Holy crap.

My internet was acting up last night so I got in the pool and dreamed up needlessly complex social orders while watching the moon rise over the palo verde trees. I've got a plot trying to come together in my head for my Twilight sendup, and angst going on if I should pick that or the fantasy story I've been plotting all along. Or maybe something else.

I think maybe I should stop worrying and finish the Doorstop first.

Anyway, remember, everyone! Ambition and talent are great, but only effort will get you anywhere. Writing, like the vast majority of life, only gives back what you put into it.

I thought about that in the pool too. Face down and listening to the coyotes howl. That's when Mum came out to make sure I wasn't dead, being eaten by the bats or getting moonburn.

As for The Doorstop, well, I've managed to walk headlong into a wedding. Kathunk! I haven't written a wedding in years. And, I managed to forget about this one until the last.

My wordcount is technically higher than indicated because I spent three hours tonight with a bunch of reference books open, banging out a wedding ceremony for an imaginary world. But, I didn't actually hit that part, so it's still hanging out in my notes file not counting.

I also realized I missed a scene a few chapters back. Which is fine. I'll just do that as soon as the reception for this wedding is over.

And by reception, I mean drunken brawl.
