Owlpellets. Caught red handed.

Savith was streaking down behind her, freefalling and gathering his strength for his next trick: grabbing them both and pulling them up from the dive. Of course, the glider knew all too well the tone of the wavedancer's send, for he'd felt the like before. The same with Dancer's.

Mind pushing away distractions, the glider focused his eyes and mind on his target. He pulled his arms from his sides, reaching forward toward Dancer's thighs. He'll grab them lightly, and with that contact, use his gift.

**Spread your arms,** he ordered in an open send, mind emotionless and focused. The question now remains: how will his order be interpreted by the wavedancer? Will it be taken as a command to have the naive cat elf belly flop and break every bone in her body?

Dancer half heard Crosscurrent. What was he so upset about? Then she heard Savith and at the moment that was the voice she had to pay attention to. Fighting against the wind she threw open her arms. Her smile never faded. No thought of danger, or fear of the splat she knew would never happen. She did as he said and the drag slowed her but not enough for her to notice. The sound of her screams and hoots flew past her ears. If she got to do this ever again she would try a few tumbles and moving around more. As Dancer threw out her arms against the wind, Savith tucked his legs up, as if curling to brace his feet against a rock to pull something heavy up over the ledge of a sheer cliff face. Straining, he let all of his magic free with a burst, pulling the opposite way. Now, let's all hope he didn't overestimate the distance of the free fall and make everyone go splat.

OOC: Shall we roll for it? 1-Can't slow them down enough to keep them from impacting HARD... 20-the perfect pulls up short but close enough to the water's surface for Crosscurrent to affect them fully. smile

Oh he was going to hurt the cat-rider..

Adin Crosscurrent put as much speed as he could upwards. He hadn't been so far down to really shoot into the air, but it was all he could do on such short-notice. It didn't help that he gained a clearer sight of the Glider clinging to Dancer now. To catch her he'd also have to manage to manuever the Glider to not suddenly struggle or the reckless elf could snap all their necks.

Personal feelings aside for the Glider's tribe (bird-bonds and mad Chief especially) his first instinct was to save elven life. It was maddening, but it would sort itself out shortly.

Judging their height, calculating his own needed space to catch... he had to pause his dash a little to not leap too early. Not unlike a greater shark grabbing a low-flying bird (an image to smile on later) he cleared the water with only thought to actions and not their meanings.

ooc: 1rst roll 'catching', 2nd roll landing. 1=poor (perhaps badly injure everyone) 20=like an Olympic champion

Dancer was compleatly relaxed untill she saw Crosscurrent. Her eyes immediately locked onto those deep green eyes of his. The look of horror that must have been on his face wasn't what she saw. Her arms wide it was like faliing into his grasp. How lovely. Did she just sigh? That was untill they hit the water. OUCH it hurt but her eyes were closed for the impact and just as she got ready to send to her fishy friend she noticed Savith also hit and everyone was a tangle of arms, legs and bubbles.

Savith did indeed hit the water, can far harder than he was hoping to have, given that he was hoping to have stayed dry, but Luck had other plans. So focused on keeping any impact they might have had to be as minimal for Dancer as possible, that Savith really didn't try to make his landing any smoother. So while the world's pull into the vast deep was lesser for Dancer, Savith took a good brunt of it. The force of it knocked the wind from him even as a bone snapped from the force.

...owlpellets.... not again...

[ooc: I hate when it eats my post. The second time feels so repetive..]

Unfortunately Crosscurrent hadn't reached high enough to properly catch Dancer (stupid clinging Glider), or time to twist. All he could do was brace himself as his back and hips slammed into the water ahead of them.

The Wavedacner almost blacked-out entirely. Every inch of skin and scale hurt, and his mind stunned with the painful sensations all over. Thankfully his arms had been in front of him to deal with the two dropping in his wake then at his sides. He might have broken them. And since he had no wish to use his tail he drifted slowly into the water. It wasn't as if he would drowned..

More by a child's instinct then rescuer's intent his hand grabbed the nearest elven presence it could. Green eyes slit to see if any motions should alarm him

ooc: odd grabs Dancer, even grabs Savith.
And I'm outta here!

Dancer hurt from crashing into Crosscurrent and the sting all over from the water but was fine for the most part. She swam up and got a breath then looked back into the water to see Savith being drug off by Crosscurrent. Swimming over to them she could see that this had taken much more of a toll on them then her. *Is anyone badly hurt?* She was still a bit lost in the excitment and running on adrenalin. Her send full of excitment, consern and everything inbetween.

**Broken,** replied Savith's mind in a wild of rush having no air to breath. His mind was focused on trying to kick to the surface, and yet having those motions met with pain. His arms tried to pull himself up, but he was far from the stronger swimmer in the world. So, instead, as he's grabbed, instead of relaxing into the rescue, the glider's body reflexively panics. **Can't breathe. Broken. Air.**

Sadly, Crosscurrent's mind was slow on the uptake as it crawled into understanding what had happened/was happening. Thankfully for the Glider the frantic motions kicked in another reflex: danger!

Like all youths who had been knocked hard growing up he followed the lead of the next elf when he couldn't figure out anything. A herd or pack mentality the Wolfriders would have called it. So when Savith started thrashing, tugging in a direction, the Wavedancer unhappily complied.

But oh it hurt!

Still, if he didn't want to be shark food, impaled on coral, or any other danger of the Vast Deep, he had to follow his guide. So while it felt like a jellyfish tendril was upon his lower back/tail he used it anyway to help head in the direction the Glider wanted. The pain was both clearing his thoughts even as they distracted them. The open-Sendings spurring him on even if he couldn't connect why his guide couldn't breathe...

Thankfully it wasn't far to the surface: Savith would have surely drowned with the slow pace Crosscurrent moved.

Crosscurrent's free hand held his head as he broke above the water. Blinking in pained confusion. It was seeing Dancer that brought back memory... and fury at her reckless stunt.

"I should drown you," he growled, the hand in his hair fisting. A large headache stabbing his temple not helping his temper. Crosscurrent didn't really notice the moving flesh he still gripped, but focused on Dancer to the exclusion of all else.

It was all Savith could do to not choke as soon as he got to the surface. He sputtered and cough as his burning lungs greedily sucked in the air it was crying out for. With the stars fleeing from his eyes, Savith's mind was clearing and he was able to sort out what hurt and why. It was his ankles, he was sure of it by now, and so he stopped his kicking, and clamped an arm around the shoulders of the elf supporting him. He knew just enough to try to swish his other arm to help keep himself a float. (Not that he did it with any great grace, but it'd work.. sort of.)

It was the growl in his ear that caught his attention, and he glanced over while he fought to still his coughs. "I'm sure you could, if you really wanted to," he replied breathlessly.

Well knowing how bad everyone was made her feel horriable. *I didn't want anyone to get hurt.* She swam over to help Savith but saw he was being helped. *Can I help somehow?* She had little idea what to say to the angry Crosscurrent other then, *I'm sorry. I'm so sorry I didn't want to hurt anyone.* Her sends became more and more lost in her sadness. Filling with self blame and remorse. She was glad to be in the water at the moment so they didn't have to see her tears.

There was the near-sound of grit teeth. Wether from noticing the Glider nearly on his back, his various pains, or Dancer's apology... probably all of them really.

"You," he 'said' over his shoulders, "are going to hold your breath because I am not a dolphin. I can ditch you on land faster if I surface now and then rather then all the time. Deal with it or swim off. And you," a pointed look at Dancer since he didn't want to really look at a Glider. "You get your tail ashore."

Savith took the anger with the grace he lacked in treading water, and sent a very wordless, almost meek, acknowledgement. Shifting slightly, he moved to get a better grip on the swimming fish, wishing he wasn't hurting so much that he could focus and push off the wavedancer, get enough of himself up out of the water to haul himself into the air where hte waves would stop battering at his ankles.
