So you'd put a man and his five month old baby out on the street then? *Says calmly, but in one breath, since he doubts Gilderoy would care/get it if he said that Xenophilius helped stop his spiral into alcoholism, depression, and was generally a professional who actually knew what he was doing, and not an addle-brained ex-husband who'd just gotten out of the mental ward*
Not to mention upset the children? Godfrey's very attached to little Roderick in particular.
*Tilts his head slightly, giving his own sort of smile at Gilderoy's back, pretty much all his careful plans of tip-toeing gone to smack*
((XD I dunno if Adela's so attached to Roderick/Xeno in particular. Xeno doesn't try to act like a third dad... he just acts like Xeno. And Roddy is a quiet baby who hardly ever cries unless you try to put the wrong colour on him/feed him the wrong coloured food. INFO.))

*Comes out of the kitchen doors with a small container of white food, peering around for Harry, not having heard anything he and Gilderoy had been saying, but is beaming and has a natural cute-face on*

*Raises his voice though he too continues to smile* Of course not, Harry. I'll pay for his new accommodations myself. But I do not appreciate you bringing another man into this house in my absence. Surely you could have conducted your sessions elsewhere?
*Pauses as Godfrey comes in and places a hand on the boy's shoulder*

Maybe I could have continued having sessions with my previous therapist, yes, except- except for the fact that-
*Pauses as he hears the door bell, relaxes somewhat*
... Godfrey, go answer the door, please. And he might have already given Roderick his bottle.
*Speaks in a no-nonsense way and waits until Godfrey scurries off to answer the door, speaking quieter*
... except for the fact that at one point I came pretty damned close to having my own room across the hall from yours at St. Mungo's. *Hadn't wanted to say that with either of the kids there, since they didn't know that*
... after that I needed more help than I was getting, or thought I had ever needed.
*Pauses, sighing through his nose, and reaches up to pinch the bridge of it before looking back at Gilderoy*
... I apologize for not asking you, but you can't do everything, Gilderoy, and I had to- ... learn to take care of myself in your absence. *Tries to go with more of Gilderoy's version of things, as a sort of apology for dropping it on him like that, since he knew that was just about the worst way he could have told him*

*Feels rather tense/uncomfortable with the tones of voices and everything, frowning now*
*Scurries off from underneath Gilderoy's hand, shoulder's hunched, and goes to answer the door*
Hi. *Bites his lip, glancing back briefly at where Harry and Gilderoy were* ..... food's on the table. Have you fed Roddy yet?
*Holds up the container of parsnips hopefully, ears pointed back towards Harry and Gilderoy, but doesn't catch anything/isn't trying to listen*

Only an ounce from the bottle. He must have been looking forward to your parsnips. *Speaks smoothly and quietly, soothingly*
*Bends down slightly and unbuckles the baby from the stroller seat almost silently, and picks him up*
Would you like to put him in his chair?
*Lowers the baby down to Godfrey's willing arms, smiling as the boy beams at him, the frown gone again*
((*Trying to awkwardly explain that Xeno has a weird sort of soothing presence, like someone who tames wild horses for a living*))

*Watches Harry for several long and tense seconds, his chin tipped up as though he was preparing to launch into another rant; steps forward quickly and gathers Harry tenderly against himself* Oh, you must have been devastated without me. *Snuggles him closer, pressing his face into Harry's unruly hair*

*Is rather surprised about the hug, having been bracing himself to argue further*
..... alright........ *Decides it's best to hug Gilderoy back, to keep up appearances and because, just because they were divorced didn't mean they couldn't be friends or exchange hugs, so he might as well just do it*
*Tries not to let himself be dragged into any flashbacks of other times Gilderoy had held him like this, but relaxes into the hold anyways, the smell and feel of him comforting and familiar, even after all these years*

Well you won't have to worry anymore, Harry - I'm here to stay. *Tilts his head, nuzzling lovingly into Harry's ear before brushing his lips over the top of the Boy Who Lived's jaw; ignoring Poppy entirely at this point* I love you.

*Pulls away from Gilderoy/pushes him gently away, feeling a stronger urge for another drink*

Hi, Boo. *Takes the baby more than willingly, holding him against himself and burying his nose in his swirly white-blonde hair, sniffing in his warm baby smell*
*Lets any lingering tension out with his breath, smiling*
I'm going to go put him in his chair then! *Turns and enters the dining room through the doors closest to him- avoiding the hallway and leaving the adults to themselves for the moment*
