L turned around to see Thorn out of breath and already dressed. "Did not get a lot of sleep, I see," he commented, turning to face toward the orphan, having to pass through the shinigami to do so. "Are you okay? Your face is pale and your eyes are whiter than usual."
((so I take it Thorn doesn't understand that he can't hear/see Rem))

Remu waved a hand infront of her sister's face.
"Helooo? Sleepy head? You in there?"
Thorn came back to earth and looked at Remu, then at Kitty and L.
"Oh! Sorry guys. Hey I gotta d something be right back!"
Thorn secretly gestured for Remu to follow. She walked briskly back into the bedroom and shut the door. Then looked at her twin who was once again in shinigami form.
"Before we go back out there you'll need to make yourself look human again. That way you can fit right in and I won't look like I'm talking to thin air."
Remu nodded.
"They will be able to see you won't they?"
"Wow look who's a clever girl!" Remu said sarcastically.
Thorn ignored the comment and stepped backwards a little to see a flash of light and her twin changed instantly from shinigami to human.
"Let's go."
The two girls stepped back out into the hallway and prepared to see the expression on the detective's face.

Kitty stared at Thorn curiously as she walked back to her room. Her eyes went wide and her eyebrows were raised for a few seconds when Thorn came back with Remu as a human rather then a shinigami. Is that Remu?...

Thorn couldn't help smiling at the face Kitty made when she saw Remu. It was obvious that she was confused and might have blurted out the truth at any second. She made eye contact with the girl and silently signed to her to keep quiet.
"This is Kairu. My twin sister. We just recently found eachother and now she's hoping to be a student here."
Thorn nudged Remu. The shinigami felt slightly confused but did a good job at hiding her expression. She realised that every student in the house must have chosen a fake name for security.
"Kairu, this is Kitty." Thorn pointed to her friend, then to L. "And this is L. One of the world's greatest detectives."
"Dozo yoroshiku..." The twin said just loud enough to hear clearly while bowing.
Thorn looked puzzled. "You speak japanese?"

Kitty got the glare from Thorn and settled down and kept quiet. She waves politely at Kairu when Thorn said her name. Then she started picking a bit of dirt out from under her finger nails boredly.

(goddessofthieves i was wondering if i could use my other account XD_Wednesday-Addams_XD to play the part of Remu/Kairu so that nobody gets confused)
Remu, or Kairu, smiled softly at the two people. "Dozo yoroshiku, means pleased to meet you. I know quite a number of languages. But mostly japanese since Ha- I mean Thorn and I came from Japan. Pleased to meet you Kitty-san. And you Lawliet-san."
The whole room seemed to stop at the mention of that name. Thorn once again turned to her twin with a look of shock and confusion.
"Who?"
The young shinigami realized in horror that she had made a mistake. She had revealed part of L's name.

Kitty stared at Kairu, her eyes wide. She quickly put two and two together and glance from L to Kairu, eyes wide.

Thorn was terrified. How will L react? Will he put two and two together? Of course he will, he's L! she found the situation frightening, if not, amusing?
Thorn looked at Kairu rooted to the spot. She kept a straight face and quietly wispered to her twin.
"Busted."

The detective looked at the strange newcomer, and knew that she must be in a trouble of some sort. He and Watari knew all of the orphans that came and went, and this "Kairu" could not have been a twin of Thorn's. He knew the girl all too well, and her family as well. There was not a sibling related to her.
L merely turned his head at this, a good look of confusion on his face. Who said that this fake twin was correct? "Lawliet? Pardon, but you must have mistaken me for someone else...Kairu."

Remu merely nodded relieved. "Of course L san. I mustn't be thinking properly. Anyway, It was quite surprising to find out we were related. Turns out the hospital seperated us when we were born without our parents knowing. So one of us lived with our real family while the other grew up with adoptive parents. I was quite shocked to find out I had a twin."
Thorn smiled at her sister. She was good at keeping a story straight and the facts might well have been true.
"Well! I think I'd better go downstairs and grab something to eat. Then I have some studying to catch up on."
Of course that was a lie. She hated to study. But she needed an excuse to get away from the detective before she went insane under the pressure. She grabbed her twin by the arm and the two of them began to walk away in the direction of the stairs (backwards! eek ). Which resulted in both girls tumbling backwards down the carpeted steps.

She blinked at them a bit then stared as they fell down the stairs. She ran to the top step and looked at them both alarmed "are you alright?"

The twins lay at the bottom of the stares. Kairu was in a bit of pain and wondering why the few students that occuppied the floor were staring and wispering to eachother. Kairu sat up slowly and realised that Thorn was lying next to her. She was unconcious and a long gash had appeared in her neck. It looked fatal.
"SOMEBODY HELP!"

L sped down the stairs, running in his awkward state of hunching over and having his knees bent. But nonetheless, he was there by her side almost the moment she cried out for help.
He turned to Kitty who was watching, dumbfounded and perhaps a bit frightened. "Please help me pick her up," he spoke in a calm voice. His face, as always, was impassive and did not seemed alarmed by this.

Kairu was terrified. She carefully began helping L lift her sister from the stairs when she noticed something. It seemed normal enough since the girls were not technically human. But for a moment she completely forgot the secrecy from the detective.
"Um...L? Why is the wound healing so fast?"
Surely enough, the gash in Thorn's neck had began to repair at a very fast rate. Because shinigami can't die.
Thorn woke sharply and shook herself from the detective's grasp only to land on the floor with a thud.
"Ow."
As Thorn stood up, she realised her sister and L were staring at her.
"What's with the looks?"
