Looking down at the apples he felt a strange feeling in his stomach. It wasn't quite hunger because it felt different. He then looked at her across the stream and walked over to the edge of the stream. "No one has ever went out of their way to get me anything.", he said loudly for he didn't know if she could hear him or not. He then looked down at the stream and back at her. How could he protect her if something were to happen while she was on the other side? He looked at the stream curiously. "Well is it rather shallow here", he murmured to himself. Without taking another thought about it he plunged into the stream and got almost halfway across when he slipped on a rock and fell down in the stream upside down on his back.

Watching him out of the corner of her eyes she took a breath he was in the water?! Jumping up quickly the minute he fell in to the water, without even thinking she ran quickly in to the stream.
"Are...are you okay..."
Looking down at him the water swirling around him but very slowly and shallow. She leaned down trying to comfort him since she knew he didn't like the water.
"...I'm sorry I know you don't like water..."

He got up slowly so as he wouldn't fall again. He looked her right in the eyes. "Why did you go across the stream and stay there? Something could have happened while I was on the other side. You want me to be with you and you leave and go somewhere you think I won't follow. How am I suppost to protect you from whatever it is you need protecting from when you get all huffy at my simple questioning. How would I know you went and got me food? I was asleep. You need to learn that not everyone thinks the same way you do. I've not had others around me long. How would I know what gestures like that were?" He then walks back over to where she had placed the apples sat down funnily because he was sore all over from the fall in the water and started eating the apples.

She tried so hard not to giggle at him but even thought she felt horrible for what she did he just looked so silly all wet and angry of him. Whining softly as he walked away from her, she followed him slowly.
"I'm sorry...I...well to tell you the truth, I...I didn't...until I met you...I haven't really ever talked to anyone...I...I was just trying to be nice...I'm sorry..."
Standing a few feet from him she watched him from afar. Shaking slightly to try and dry off a little bit she whined again she really was sorry that she hurt him.

He finished up the apples rather fast for her was starving. He then looked up at her. "Why do you stand all the way over there? Is there someplace you are wanting to go?" He stood up slowly and felt something wrong with his left hind leg and quickly say back down not wanting to know what was wrong with his leg.

Seeing him quickly lay back down she quickly ran over to him.
"are...are you okay?"
Nuzzling him softly she wanted very much to help him if he'd let her.

"I should be fine. It's probably just sore from when I went into the evil stream." He tried to stand up again only falling back down this time. "I probably just need to stay off it for a while or something. I should be fine. No need to worry." He looked back at his leg and examined it with his eyes and nose. He smiles a bit. "It's not broken or anything so I should be alright after some rest."

Smiling softly as she laid near him,
"You were going to cross the stream for me..."
Thinking slightly about it for a minute she finally said slowly and delibertly,
"You...like me?"

He looked at her funnily. "Before you ask me that question you should ask yourself that question about me first. I know what one is thinking when they look at me the way you have been looking at me. I will not answer that question until you have answered that question for yourself." He tried to stand up again and though his leg was a lil sore he was able to walk around on it now. "See I told you I'd be fine in no time. Do you even remember the answer I gave to your question last night?"

Shaking her head,
"Question?"
She was so tired the night before she must have asked him a question. Thinking really hard she looked shocked,
"You're name! I asked you your...name"
She felt stupid, she never heard his answer the night before. Looking up at him slightly just to keep an eye on him, she winced. How could she have not heard the answer. As she thought about that she thought again on his question. Did she like him...well she loved him...but was she going to tell him that...wait no she didn't love him there was no way...he was...but he made butterflies in her stomach. sighing softly she shook her head once more a little confused about all things around her.

"That would be the question and I whispered the answer in your ear as you fell asleep. When you remember the answer to that question you'll be able to clearly answer the question you have for yourself." He smiles slightly at her. "Don't tell others I also have this side to me please. Only a certain one can know I have a more intelligent side. It'd ruin my reputation."

She sat there watching him, he had said that when water mixed it became something else...what was he yelling yesterday. Thinking hard about what he had been yelling and screaming out when she got him wet the other day she could only remember mud. Dirt! that was it! Looking up at him, thinking that it probably fit well actually.
"Dirt...it was Dirt"
With a smile she nodded at him,
"I...well I like...you"

"A what?" ... Why did she instantly go to mate? Why did she think that so suddenly. "A certain one refers to an individual that would take the time to gain my trust and get to know me." He smiled at her when she said his name, "At least I know you pay attention to me when I talk.", his smile went to a half smile then almost a frown, "You said you liked me as if you were questioning yourself. You have answered one question but I doubt you have answered the other one."

Watching his reaction to what she had said she quickly got up and felt stupid. Well at least she didn't say what she really meant to say. There was no way she was going to tell him she loved him, not after that response. Trying her hardest not to look upset and not succeeding very well.

He nuzzles her cheek and quietly whispers in her ear "It's way to early to think of becoming my mate anyways" He then looked back across the water at the apples. "Why do they have to be over there?" He walked up to the waters edge and kicked air at it. "You evil vile thing you prevent me from getting more."
