Alright, a few notes on my progress so far. I had a lot of free time yesterday, so I tried a lot of this stuff out. WARNING! rant ahead >>
Lesson 1 results
I've been doing this one for many years, and do it in class when I'm bored. I find rubbing my hands together doesn't charge me with energy though, it sort of... gets rid of it, like crumbling it away. That's the best way I can describe it, so I do that after. But my hands feel like a pair of magnets, pushing each other away. The longer I hold them there, the greater the resistance.
Lesson 2 results
This was the first time I ever did this, trying to manipulate the energy ball. I started by simple gathering my energies in my hands separately. Right hand got really cold, and my left warm and tingly, almost like it was falling asleep sweatdrop . Then I mushed the two together to form a ball, the colour I chose was yellow. It's not my favorite colour, it just seems to be one of the easiest for me to work with. [blue and yellow work well for me] For my energy source, I used the earth, because the sun is hard for me to tap, and the moon wasn't out at the time. I made this one about the size of a softball and just held it for a while, before letting it go.
Side-lesson Ground results
This was a bit harder for me, as I've never done it before. But I found it was easier if I had as much contact with the ground as possible, laying down made me sleepy though. I opted for sitting cross-legged, hands on the floor, visualizing myself kind of.. melting into the floor ^^". I'd tried the other visualization techniques, drilling into the ground, using the tree and waterfall methods that were described, but it didn't seem to work as well. I shall continue to work on this, as I feel I've barely scratched the surface.
Lesson 3 results
Programming, an odd concept, but I decided to try it. I did this one at night, drawing energy form the moon this time. I had much more fun with this one, making it sticky and hairy. Those two worked easiest for me. It kind of felt like the back of a sticker to me. I made this one extra yellow, putting more air quality in it. [oh, on a side note, I visualize mixing elemental energies to get my desired effect, is that wrong?] and then I tried for hairy, to see if I could. I put more earthy energies into it, and it kind of felt like a kitten. It might be weird to say...but it was cute. I then went back to changing colours, and I got good results form yellow, blue, and green. Then i tried for red and I didn't like it at all. Red didn't feel right, it was uncomfortable and made me really tired.
I tried changing its' shape too, though it seemed to kind of like being a ball. I eventually shaped it into a rod/cylinder type shape, kind of like you would with clay. I found it much more successful this way, rather than just telling it to change shape.
Lesson 4 results
This one was fun when I was a kid, but I haven't done it in a long time, so it was fun to try again. I used to make only little wisps and throw them at my siblings, who would say it made them itch. The denser the ball, the harder it was to get it to move on its' own. It was like, the more substantial it was, the more help it needed moving. Yellow ones were easiest to move around. I'll be practicing this one a lot more.
I also have a question. My orbs have a habit of melting when I cup my hands. It feels like holding a handful of icy water. Does anyone else get that?
Lesson 4, part 2 results
I had no-one to play catch with me, so I didn't do this v_v
Lesson 5 results
Shields yay!! I'd only started experimenting with this a few months ago. I set one up to help keep me from getting sick during flu season. It wasn't entirely successful, but I only had a sniffle, which was good for me :] My shell was shaped more like a grain of rice, that I started as a little bubble in the middle of my person. I then expanded it and have it a hard outer substance, the colour gray worked, but I never even though to fill it with energy. I haven't really done much with these, but I will work harder on these. I like the idea of using them to bring fortune to oneself, as previously I was using it to keep illness out. Believe me, when you suffer from headaches almost everyday, anything helps.
Lesson 6 results
er.. I guess I got that backwards, I'll still work on the shields though.
Now that I have proper instruction, I know to do it the right way. I know that I probably rushed a few of these things, but I think that practicing each of these daily will help me. Kind of like an exercise.

I was thinking, and I don't think I should be a student in this class. I'm so far behind and this is one of those things that takes a while to get good at and i'd always be that far behind. So, I think i'm just going to be a lurker and post whenever I have a question and my results when I have them. 3nodding
EDIT on 04/20: I just want to let you know I was able to successfully ground today. ^_^ I'm really proud. lol I had to do a spell, it was kind of crucial and I really put myself into it...Well, afterwards, I went outside, sat with my plants and put my hands into the dirt on the ground. I imagined the energy flowing in a clockwise spiral from my hands into the ground. When I was finished, I actually felt it, like, the spiral just sort of stopped and I didn't feel like I needed to ground anymore. I think my problem last time, was I was overgrounding myself or something. I kept trying to keep the spiral going because I was afraid it wasn't working. lol Anyway, i'm glad it did this time. ^_^

torak317 [oh, on a side note, I visualize mixing elemental energies to get my desired effect, is that wrong?] I tried changing its' shape too, though it seemed to kind of like being a ball. I eventually shaped it into a rod/cylinder type shape, kind of like you would with clay. I found it much more successful this way, rather than just telling it to change shape. Mixing elemtals into the shields/balls is a little more advanced, and I'll get into that later, after we're done shielding. But it's not wrong...just don't post about it, please. I want the rest of them to be fully informed about it before they try it. smile And that's a good way to change it's shape, so don't b discouraged. Do whatever works for you.-- Quote: Lesson 4 resultsThis one was fun when I was a kid, but I haven't done it in a long time, so it was fun to try again. My orbs have a habit of melting when I cup my hands. It feels like holding a handful of icy water. Does anyone else get that? For your question:: Your orbs don't have the habit, you do. When you cup your hands around them, you automatically think, "Okay, here it goes again..." so it automatically does it because you KNOW it's going to happen like that. It's time to change your thinking. When you cup your hands, ORDER the ball to stay in place. It might waver for a moment, maybe your first few tries, but be firm. That's the problem with bringing elementals into your energy work when you're not ready for it quite yet. Elements have a mind of their own, sometimes. That's why you have to be sure to show respect for all of them...I read somewhere that a witch didn't "dismiss" the fire element after her circle--she had a fire in her house that night. So try to stick to colors, not elements. Like I said, mind of their own. 3nodding And Choir-Angel, I would still love to have you as a student! I don't mind working on earlier lessons--don't mind at all. If I did, what would be the point of teaching the class anyways? I already know this stuff--I'm just spreading the knowledge. And, truthfully, I learn somethings from it, too--you guys give me lots to think about, actually. wink Love and Blessings

Alrighty, if you don't mind. >_< I don't have ton of time to devote to working with energy and such, considering I have school work and the like. But I try little things every now and then....
I was wondering, can you draw energy from the earth and use it to heal yourself? Because every now and then i'll do something like that...

Alright, thank you, I'll work on that. I didn't mean to get ahead of myself, I've just never really had real instruction before. I'm still unsure of much of it, but I think by the end of these sessions I should have a good grasp on things. So I will be sure to stick to those guidelines during my practice today. :]

Choir-Angel--Of course I don't mind! I love having people in the class!
But to answer your question, yes, you can draw energy to heal yourself...but that's a whole nother subject. I wouldn't feel rght advising you on that topic since this class doesn't teach it here. You might want to ask Maggie if she can recommend anyone--if she can't, just PM me and I'll see if I can help you find something. 3nodding
And Torak317--No problem! I didn't really have any instruction, either, when I was starting. Actually, I found a website that I can't find now before I was even aware of the basics of magick! I learned the rest from experimenting, just like you. You just be sure to tell me if you're having any more problems, I'd love to help!

I'm hoping its not too late to join in the class ^_^"
I tried the exercise in lesson one. I've only done it a couple of times and I seem to be having the same results as other people but they're very very weak. I've felt the rope, the ball, and the hands in water on different attempts but its so subtle I'm not sure if its just my mind playing tricks on me. The ball seemed to work because immediately after I drew my hands away and opened my eyes they had formed a circle and I felt like they were slightly repelling against each other.
Is it normal for the energy to seem so weak? Or is that just a lack of practice? My room tends to have a very 'heavy' feel to it, part of it I think is the humidity but it doesn't seem to go away even when I open the window. Could this interfere with the flow of my energies?

I'd love it if you joined the class!
Don't worry about the strength of your energy for now. Just have fun with it! It would also help if you experimented in different places, too. Try doing it outside, in the forest, by a river, or in the middle of a lake! You'd be amazed at what location can do for your experiments.
Also, if you try it in your room, try the color blue and tell me how it goes. I'm really interested to figure this one out just as much as you are--*thinkthinkthink* I've got other things we can try, but try blue for now and we'll go from there.
Happy Findings.

Sorry it took so long to post, but I've been practicing lesson five a little. First off, I attempted to shield my herbs, promoting their heath. Because it was herbs, I ended up using the earth energy I typically use, and actually made the shield white for a change. Alas, most of the herbs ended up dying. I think I watered them too much, because the roots were all shriveled and brown, indicating rot... The herbs that didn't contract rot (one shoot of cilantro and most of the parsley-the chives are in the midst of dying... TT-TT) are actually doing fairly well, though. So aside from my stupid mistakes, I think it may have worked? Again with the half-assward results. I'll hold out on the sixth lesson until the half-asswardness of my results stops/lessens... But I found color properties. Here they are... Red: The color red symbolizes life's blood and has always been associated with Wiccan Rituals in that sense. Passion, fire, courage, strength, joy, life renewal, energy, health, motivation, desire. Orange: Opportunities, happiness, mental alertness, kindness, material gain, removes feelings of abandonment and helps to seal a spell. Yellow: Energy of the sun, healing, friendship, strengthen productivity, improve inventiveness, prosperity, self-esteem, beauty, life, light, humility Green: Green has always been associated with the faerie folk, the Green Man and God or Goddess of vegetation and forest. Healing, transformation, New beginnings, financial gains, prosperity, hopefulness, spring and immortality. (This is the color I most often use...) Blue: Encourage wisdom, patience, peace, truth, loyalty, meditation, insight, happiness, fidelity Purple: Purple is a very spiritual hue and supports any spiritual undertaking be it centering, wisdom or psychism. Justice, forgiveness and humility. White: White is magickally neutral and represents the Goddess and Ancient Mother. Safety, the divine self, enlightenment, cycle of life, freedom, health, love, initiation. Black: To return energy to it's sender. Divination, banishing spells, chaos, beginning of creation, rebirth, infinity. When used along with the color white it represents opposites- male/female. Gold: Solar energy and God. Leadership, logical thinking, problem-solving, conscious awareness, health and recovery. Silver: Moon magic, reality, astral travel, restore balance, endurance, meditation, peace, freedom, connection to spirit. Brown/Bronze: Security, friendship, nature magick. Gray: Stabilizes a disturbed personality. Source: [♥] (This is for the Lammas puzzle. Please don't remove).

I haven't tried the exercise in my room again but on Friday I tried it in my school's black box theater. I got a good minute or so of meditation, maybe longer, and then I tried it. I was surprised because as soon as I started rubbing my hands together they were already really warm, and by the time I was really rubbing them they were extremely hot, like when you try and hold a cup with boiling water in them. I got really excited and took them away, and my hands fell into the same circular position they had before. I could definitely feel a much stronger connection running between the base of my palms where the hand meets the wrist and connecting my two hands. Then suddenly my hands felt as if they had turned to stone and got really heavy and it was actually difficult to hold them up.
I'm waiting to experiment a little more before I answer any of the other questions or move on to the next lesson. I recently learned that I haven't really been grounding properly (I was originally under the impression that it was just meditating and calming yourself) but after reading up on grounding and centering in several books at the bookstore I think I'll get different results.
I think though the problem with my room is a combination of several things. There's the humidity for one, but its also in a basement, so I'm underground. I think thats probably causing a lot of problems, maybe I'm too "grounded" but I'll try visualizing in blues and browns/greens to see what happens. I've also tried opening the only window as wide as I can to see if the fresh air will help. I think doing it outside will definitely help, and I had hoped to get a chance to do it yesterday on my mountain hike but it started to rain and thunder started booming and I didn't want to possibly get struck by lightning.
Thanks for the advice!

Eek! I havent posted in a while... I've been sick and school has taken over my life Dx
Lesson #3 I first refreshed myself on lesson#2, then did lesson #3. I wasn't really thinking hard about what I was doing, and randomly chose green energy from the clouds...? Anyways, I'm having trouble with making it sticky. Lumpy and pointy, ect, I can do, but sticky just doesn't work. I can do shapes, but not sticky! It turnes out kinda... gooey? I guess... and it can't stustain a shape. Ahhh it's wierd. Help?
Edit: I successfully created a fuzzy/hairy pyramid! Ahh! I'm proud of myself! Yet sticky is still impossible! haha...

Don't stress too much about not being able to make a sticky ball. Ask yourself this: When will I ever truly need to make a sticky ball? The answer will probably be never. Try other things for a few days, then try again.
If it helps, try to find something sticky to touch. You said you used green energy before, so try to find some sap. Touch it, and try to take that feeling and apply it to your ball. And, again, ORDER it to hold it's shape. It will. Don't doubt your abilities. You can do it.

A Yea, that is true. I doubt I will ever really need to be able to make one; I just don’t like feeling defeated.
I’ll try that, it might work a bit better. Thanks.
