Sara nodded at Becca. "I'm Sara. Pleasure!" She chimed in with a wave. The blonde untucked her scarf from around her neck and unzipped her jacket. "I happen to like it. It was a bit strange at first..." She said remembering the bizzaro trip her, Morgan and Victoria wound up taking. "But once yer used to the strangeness it kinda grows on ya." She said with a smile.

Shandra nodded and went in the same direction Blade started to walk. She wondered if this new addition to the group would make a stir, or at least make the place seem more lively. So far today was the day that had been the most social for a while but of course she had been told it was only till school started back up.
'Then the kitchen will be crowded in the morning. The Library will have people in it and the physical training might resume...'

Owen's head jerked up as he realized that he had lost track of how long he had been walking. He stared with bewilderment at the less than familiar streets covered in powder and the buildings that looked dusted in sugar. Snow fell all about him like floppy bits of cotton, only adding to the unfamiliarity. He blinked as he looked around, his gaze resting on what appeared to be a huge gate. A rich person's house? he wondered. He shrugged and walked closer, thinking to find a plaque or something like one on the wall beside to gate proclaiming who's place this was. He didn't see one as he approached, but as he got close enough to the gate to see the landscape on the other side of it, he fancied he could hear playful shouts. He pulled his hands out of the warmth of his coat pockets and grasped two of the gate's bars, ignoring the sting where his gloves offered no protection from the biting chill of the metal. He hated to admit it, but ever since the incident with the mall fire, he had come to realize just how much he missed human contact. Talking with someone that didn't need to have words simplified, one that you would know would actually be around for more than a month. But not like those people who threw rocks at the stained glass or sneaked into his church hoping for a glimpse of the infamous altar boy's ghost. Someone like....He thought as he shut his eyes that he saw his mother for a split second, but he opened them and she was gone. He moodily let his head rest between two bars on the gate and let his eyes wander around to the landscape beyond.

Kara looked around at the other teens and opted to go up into her room for a little rest and relaxation, not to mention to check if Lance's little temper tantrum had knocked her tv off the stand again. One of these days one of his little fits is gonna break it then I'ma have to break him. The cat-girl thought as she passed Laura and Morgan in the upstairs hall. She went into her bedroom and closed the door quietly behind her, she knew Liz would come up to play later but Kara had to respect the fact the girl wasn't feeling to hot and needed her sleep. "Guess it'll be solo for a bit..not a problem." She said to herself as she was happy to see the tv still on it's stand. Kara turned on her cd player and turned up her Janis Joplin's greatest hits cd just enough to drown Lance's music out from her room but not enough to annoy everyone in the hall.

Rogue wasn't too surprised to hear Becca's question, after all most new recruits wanted to know what to expect in their new situation. She shrugged and decided a non-committal answer would be best for the time-being. No point in scaring Becca on her first day.
"Yeah. I like it. It's nice to be around people who don't freak out when they find out what you can do."
******
Laura growled as she heard Lance's answer. This time he did have a good enough reason. The thrashing would have to wait.
She yelled over the music, and through the door at him, "You lucked out this time bub! She gets on my nerves enough that I don't blame you, but next time I feel this house rumble it's your hide! Got it?!"
Just then Morgan approached. She turned to him as he asked her about Lance and nodded. "Yeah. He had a reason though. Blondie and her puddle are apparently back. And you know how well they get along." She leaned back against the door, smirked, and muttered, "Not that she and I get along much better."

"Yes, well, Valerie can have the effect on people. You've just gotta know how to deal with folks like her. And unfortunately for Lance, he makes himself a target. It's just too easy to get a rise out of him," Morgan replied.
"Actually, I was here to tell Lance the same thing you just warned him about. Next time he throws a tantrum, we can takes turns slapping him around," he joked.
"So, what're you up to today?"

Liz sighed as she looked at all the activity that had suddenly sprouted up around her her comphy little nest on the couch. "Alright...I'm up, I'm up." She groaned as she dragged herself off the couch. She grabbed her tissues and other stuff and trudged upstairs. "Scuse me." She said to Laura and Morgan as she passed them. They were talking about Lance and Valerie. Smack Lance around? Sounded like fun. She winced at the music coming out of both Lances room and Kara's room. Looks like sleep would be a pipe dream today. Her room was right across from noise central. Groaning Liz slunk into her room and buried herself under her blankets after shutting the door and laying a towel across the bottom of the door to block some of the sound.

Valerie shrugged and watched Morgan disappear up the stairs with her beady blue orbs; her short attention was soon turned to another male who entered the foyer, she grinned at the nickname of ‘water-girl’ and turned to notice David fully. She wasn’t quite sure where he had come from but that didn’t bother her too much, not that anything really did, she was fairly easy going with things like that.
“Hi there, yeah vacation was fairly successful…scared my father into giving me a bit of cash, Mizu chased cats and we all had a good time eating sushi and the like!”
Valerie nodded at the end of the sentence and Mizu pricked his ‘ears’ up at the mention of cats and sushi, he loved cats…well loved to annoy them anyway, the small creature toddled over to the pair and waved up at David trying to be as innocent as possible.
“Well he’ll put the cats to the back of his mind once he decides to wind up Lance!”
The Blonde said with a laugh, she had only just arrived back and was a tad too tired to infuriate anyone, but there was still time later in the day. Mizu yawned slightly irritated with his 'cutesy' behaviour and walked off to re-examine his old haunts leaving small watery tracks as he left his companion.

"Nice to meet you too Sara," she responded with a smile. At least everyone seemed rather friendly and even vaguely normal.
"So," she said, rather hesitantly. "Is it rude to ask what people can do?" Her expression turned to something between curiosity and nervousness, as if unsure if this would offend anyone.

Blade looked back at Shandra. "You know, you should probably lead the way. I'm not too good with directions and could get us lost." Blade sheepishly explained to the other female.

"Yeah, strange is a good way to describe it," said Victoria, catching Sara's train of thought in an instant and nodded reminiscently in agreement. That day sure as heck was strange, even in comparison to what else tended to happen around here on a day to day basis. But once again...there was no need to scare the new girl.
"And no...I don't think that's a rude question, though it's the first time I've heard it," continued the teen, frowning for an instant but then shaking it off, her small smile returning immediately as she looked back at Becca. "But it's sound manipulation for me, more of less. You?"

Shandra smiled sheepishly, "I might too, be careful where you let me lead at...I'm better in the cities at navigating, different buildings to look at and remember...okay, I'm babbling, I'll just shut up now..."
She could feel the heat on her face from her own self inflicted embarrassment. She should have known better than to say anything back because she'd already felt that little impulse in her that wanted to make her babble. With a deep breath she walked back to the mansion at a steady pace, not bothering to check if Blade had followed because she was, after all, a big girl that could take care of herself.
Or at least, Shandra hoped she could take care of herself. Sometimes it seemed that the world picked on those that couldn't take care of themselves just for the fun of it.

Rogue was beginning to like this new girl. She was straight-froward and didn't mind asking questions. Two traits Rogue approved of. She decided to wait for Becca to answer Victoria's question, before telling what her own powers were.
****
Laura nodded when Morgan talked about how Lance tended to make himself a target. It was all too true. That's why she got along with Valerie better than Lance. The girl might annoy her beyond all reason, but instead of showing it, Laura kept her cool and her distance.
"Hmm.... A double smack down sounds like fun. I just might take you up on it," she said darkly.
When he asked about her plans for the day, she had to think a minute. She'd finished her morning routine, lunch, and her shower, she'd finally finished her hacking project the night before, which meant that she should be free, but she had to think a second to make sure. She couldn't think of anything terribly pressing.
"I'm free for once," she replied. "You have any plans? Or want to come up with some?"

Blade laughed slightly. "That's fine. I babble too." Blade explained. "Especially, when it comes to my name. People are usually surprised by the name Blade so I have to explain that my father wanted me to have a strong name and managed to get my mom to agree."

Shandra smiled, "I suppose you've gotten that question a lot aye?"
She continued on until she saw the large fountain that marked the mansion. Well the mansion kind of marked the mansion but Shandra just found the fountain pretty so she used it as a marker in her mind.
"And this would be our destination," Shandra called back.
