Dean followed Narid all the way to the clerics tent he was slightly quiet because he was planning out the fight ahead of them in his head adding events to the enemys side that would give them a advantage to see if he could think of a way to counter. Once at the tent "who knew so many people need help."

Melee took a sip of the rum. It was bitter but felt warm going down and at this point anything to eat or drink was welcome. She had been traveling hard for the past few months.

"Thanks for this." She said staring up at the slate colored sky, "I've noticed there are two kinds of people out there when war times befall us. Some people are 'every man for himself'. They take to hiding and horde thier supplies, they won't do anything to help anyone. Then there's the other kind, who do what they can to help a complete stranger. I'm glad your not the first kind, you and your fellows. I'd probably be dead without your help. I'm am in your debt." She took another sip of rum and sighed.

Maverick smiled again admiring the girl's strong stomach and attitude. He began to wipe away the excess dried blood around the wound gently and proceded with stitching it up.

"So tell me about where you're from and how you got caught up in all of this." Maverick was curious and wanted to eventually ask about what she had seen in Wispen. Perhaps some useful information.

Melee snorted a laugh, "Where do I start?" She contemplated for a moment, "I'm from, well, everywhere. You see, my father is a traveling merchant. I've been traveling all my life. But about two years ago I got separated from them. I haven't found them yet. " She inhaled as pain shot through her head, she took a long swig of the rum, it was bitter but very warm, "This war is like a parasite." She sipped the rum again, "It's spreading everywhere. Places I've been to in the past look so different now a days. So sad. I really do worry. It seems like alot of people have lost their spirit to fight. You guys are the first group I've seen that isn't completely broken. "

[[ Right here? I think....Am I? ]]

Achilles ran along, his body curled into its self as he ran. His men behind him were doing the same. There were sixteen of them. Seventeen with him. They all had shield and spear in hand, and were all running low through the tall snowy grass. They'd been tracking a group of hostiles for a day, and they'd finally caught the track back up, and they weren't very far. At least, they thought they weren't.

They kept going at the same pace and same manner for twenty minutes until they came upon a camp. They all crouched low in tall grass outside of the camp, which was rather large(Y'alls, by the way.) by any standards. It seemed to be very temporary, by the way the tents and structures were set up. There were many people, maybe up to a hundred, in the camp. The rest of his army was still marching along. He'd brought along 45 more myrmidon, not including his personal guard. He scanned the camp slowly, and came to the realization that it wasn't the enemy they'd spotted. He stood erect and started forward, his myrmidon following behind him, and he went into the camp, looking around slowly.

"Hello, who is in charge?" he asked in a manneristic and low tone to a passerby.

[[ Anyone wanna play the passerby? ]]

Maverick was finishing up her stitches and examined them closer to make sure that they were nice and clean.

"I see...I too have family that I wonder about....As long as they are alive and together thats all that matters right now..." He tried not to talk too much about the inner feelings that tormented him night and day and went on to wrap up Melee's head with a new bandage.

"And yes, whats left of the surviving army indeed are anxious to fight. But the desire to fight isn't all we need I'm afraid. We have yet to hear what our leaders plan to do..." The cold was getting to Maverick and after finishing Melee's bandage he rubbed his hands near the fire desperately. "Godamnet its cold. I'm a winter person but hardly a winter-outdoors person" He smiled and took some of the rum to help warm him up.

Kali looked out of her tent. glancing over to ember, she saw he was still asleep. she sighed, put a few more scraps of wood on the small fire, and walked out of the tent.
"Hello, who is in charge?"
She turned around to see who had addressed her. "oh, that would probably be Jer- wait, who are you?" she asked, warily. "i definately haven't seen you around here before." she saw the group of myrmidon behind him. "and just who the hell are those?" her eyes were narrow now, and in her clenched fist was a small, dancing flame. "if you are not on our side, i swear to the goddess i'll kill you myself."

((kk, I'm back))

The boulders were tough but manageable to maneuver through the mounts of snow. Soldiers were out of breath, watching as their warmth escaped their throats, and many rested at the foot of the rocks.

Rena coughed and rubbed her nose with the tips of her fingers, feeling the numbness. Scratching her cheek, she thought for a couple of minutes contemplating the next course of action.

She got up, wobbling in the knees, with one hand on a rock and the bow in the other. She launched an arrow into the air and into the distance. There was no reaction. She glanced at another archer nearby and gave a nod of the head. Then with that, that archer tensed his muscular arms, positioned his bow, and sent another arrow through the haze and into a different location. There was no sign of a trap still, at least no yet, but it was hard to tell.

((hola! I'm vair vair excited to RP with all of yous (=^.^=)))

Avalon walked slowly through the snow carrying her mother's corpse. She couldn't leave her behind, not her mother, not the legendary Raziela, Pegasus Knight, felled by an knife to the head. She couldn't. It slowed her down, but she had Andra, her wyvern and her mother's pegasus for company. The army had left her behind and she doesn't blame them. She would make her retreat from that godforsaken place alone. She needed the silence.

Avalon would give her mother a proper burial when she reached the army camp. It's the least she could do. Then Raziela's pegasus would leave her and Andra behind. She didn't know what riderless pegasuses did; did they find a new rider, live in freedom, or die like their rider? She didn't care. The pegasus could take care of itself.

She didn't know how long she had been walking, she didn't bother to look up from her feet, from the crunching snow on the ground. She could see the blood of the soldiers who marched before her, staining the snow red. 'Impurity, the land is stained.'

Avalon began to hum softly; their song, her mother's and hers.

Alas my love you do me wrong to cast me off discourteously,
And lighting in your company.
Greensleeves was all my joy,
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves was my heart of gold,
And who but my lady Greensleeves.

After who knows how long, Andra nudged her softly. "What is it, Imoto?" Avalon asked. Andra gestured towards the distance; light. Her mother's pegasus perked up a bit. 'Almost there...' Avalon thought.

Too soon, she reached the camp. She was badly injured, but the wound she bore was in her spirit. She didn't try to smile as she passed comrades she fought with in battle. She searched for Jericho or Amos, anyone who could tell her where she could bury her mother. She wandered around the camps, past various fires warming bodies that could rest. Avalon couldn't, not till her mother could. Andra and the pegasus followed her loyally, one for the girl herself, the other for the corpse in her arms.

((Oh! One question: can wyverns/pegasuses speak to their riders? Like mind-speaking...??))

((I wouldn't imagine so, but I'll leave it up to you. If they don't, I'm sure they would have a strong enough bond to understand each other, though))

Kenya stepped out of the kitchen tent, having tried and failed to make anything that humans would eat. Flux seemed to be enjoying it though. She saw a girl carrying a corpse around camp, and approached her.

"Excuse me?" she began quietly, "Are you wounded?" she asked, not sure if the blood that stained the girl's clothes was her own or that of the woman she carried. This girl looked like she felt. Lost and broken hearted from loosing someone they held so dear.

((Okidokey (^^)))

Avalon looked up at the woman who spoke to her. She asked if she was hurt. 'Hurt, just like everybody else,' she thought. The young woman looked at least somewhat concerned. It warmed Avalon a bit, to have another human care for her, especially a stranger. Avalon didn't know her, but she seemed as if she could help.

"I'm not," Avalon said quietly, barely above a whisper. "I need to bury her, where can I do that?" She nearly cried, but she fought them back ferociously; the daughter of Raziela was not going to cry, was not going to be that weak. She smiled faintly.

"This is my mother, Raziela. That's her pegasus over there. I'm Avalon, but you can call me Avi," she said, with a faint smile. It was more of a grimace. Smiling seemed almost as painful as a knife wound for Avalon at that moment. "What is your name?"

Andra stood a bit away with the pegasus. She could clearly sense her master's grief. She wished she had words to comfort the young woman, barely an adult yet and already missing a mother. Lani's grief weighed on her like a bag of sand strapped to her back. Onii-chan's grief was her own.

Melee chuckled and handed him his scarf back. "I think you might want this back. Can't have a good solider get a cold." She did not really need it, the rum she had drunk kept her plenty warm and quite pleasantly buzzing. She giggled girlishly and stood, grabbing a stick. She walked closer to the fire and poked it. She giggled again as she prodded it a few more times and threw the stick in. Slowly she began adding more wood, making the fire rise.

"Fire is truly an amazing thing. In one sense it's a God send. Saves you from getting sick and protects you from the bitterness of snow and ice." She heaved a particularly large piece of log into the dancing embers, "But in another sense, it is one of the most destructive elements. Able to burn a person alive and leave them unidentifiable and able to cause a nation-wide famine in just a sense of hours." She sat down next to Maverick but missed the log slightly and fell backwards. In the snow she lay, looking up at the sky and laughing harder then she had in months. "I think I drank too much."
