((Curious, what are you thinking of, I wonder....))
Aska nodded and said, "I'll try. Tie a rope to the anchor of that trip line and throw the rest over the edge." As she spoke, she stood all the way up and pulled off her black glass armor. (( By the way, this armor was from a user created MOD that only made the glass armor black instead of green, no stat changes.))

((actually, i've never played oblivion xDD))
she nodded, doing as Aska instructed. she watched the rope fall into the blackness and sighed.
(i was thinkign steel spiked, but also a hidden door. after all, no oen expects doors in a pitfall. hidden door on side around spikes, leading to another branch of the castle, maybe the dungeons or treasure room or soemthing))

Without a word, Aska lowered herself down with caution, knowing that if the fall didn't kill her, something else might. "There are some spike down here, it looks like their circling a doorway."

shaon blinked. "a doorway? what an odd place for one..." she frowned. "who would put a doorway ina pitfall? a stash maybe, but a door?"

Aska pushed against the wall and hooked a foot around a spike then proceeded to bring herself to it. Tying the rope to it, she finaly stood on the door. She picked up the brick and started to open the door.

Pulling the horizontal door up and resting it against the spikes by the hinges, Aska peered inside. Unfortunately, there just wasn't enough light to see anything. "I need a torch." is all that she said.

"I think this may be a mine" Leo said to Sydney. "A very well protected one of course... maybe it is not a mine... but it has to be hiding something, there are just so many precautions against intruders. And it doesn't appear anyone has been here before us, the traps are still all set."

Leo threw the newcomer a torch strapped onto his leg without saying hello. "I'm afraid I don't have anything to light it with." he said apologetically.

Aska only shrugged and pulled out her steel and flint and proceeded to start an ember and light the torch. After it was lit, she looked into the doorway. Leading down was a staircase, but on a second inspection, it was a stone slide that had paint on it to make it look like stairs.

Leo looked over her shoulder. Then he spoke to Sydney. "These traps are a bit strange for a mythril or gold mine... and its odd for a mine to be abandoned at all. This is really a pain in the a**, but I'll be damned if I don't find out what is hiding in this place."

((WOW, you guys got carried away there...))
"It could always be a glass or ebony mine, possibly even adamintine... I've never heard anything about adamintine anywhere other than Morrowind, but maybe thats why it's so well guarded? Afterall, you can get around 200 gold a piece for glass and ebony and atleast 300 for adamintine."
