House locked the door quickly, he was so tired. He didn't want to be fully awake though because then he would have to deal with the feelings that were still there. He didn't have medication to turn to.He turned to Wilson after he had locked the door. Just looking at him made his heart throb with the pain that he could never have him. But he would put this behind him, he had to, Wilson was his only true friend and he didn't want to lose him. It wasn't going to be easy to shift back to normal after what had happened. Maybe if he didn't bother him for a while things would settle down. So it was decided, he wouldn't bother him today.

Wilson just smiled as he headed for the car, hearing Houses cane tap the floor behind him. His hand fiddled for the keys in his coat. Things were already feeling awkward; simply House being so quiet was enough to make him uncomfortable. It was understandable the reasons behind the silence, but reasoning didn’t always provide comfort. If work went normally, then House would be asking him to spot cancer and slowly pull things back into place. Once they reached the car, he pressed the button that unlocked the doors. He opened his and started the engine while waiting for House to get settled in his own seat.

((I wanted to just post all the way to the hospital, but I wasn't sure if House might say something. Though the last post seemed to say it, didn't want to rush ahead, but I could add on if House is not going to talk, or you can just post saying they are there and working. Whatever works^^))

The ride was a silent one, House didn't have anything to say. Or maybe it was that he had too much to say and not enough time or guts to say it. Either way he sat in silence, when they arrived he sat in the car waiting for Wilson to either get out or say something. He wondered what had been going on in Wilson's mind. He hoped that he would understand his silence. He didn't want to offend Wilson but he was trying to make sense about what had happened and why he just couldn't give him what he wanted. He sighed silently to himself, it was going to be one hell of a day.

Wilson kept quiet the whole ride there, not wanting to push House into talking. Though he was really bitter about the night before, he was not pissed at House, or at least he wanted to think he wasn’t. Just thinking about it hurt, tugging his inner strings giving his heart no mercy. His eyes lay focused on the road, watching white dashes vanish under the front end of his car. It was a gorgeous morning that was going unnoticed by him. Soon enough, he pulled into the parking lot and into a space. Houses cycle was sitting still in the same space it was in the night before, the place they kissed; that kiss. He took in a deep breath, that memory stifling his lungs and creating a lump in his throat. That kiss was possibly the best he had ever had, even with its lack of tongue. Such a simple kiss left a rather complicated scar. It was intoxicating, though it actually felt like poison as it tortured him to know he would never have it again. After a few seconds, he opened his door and walked next to House, for the first time actually feeling distant from him.

As they walked in, Wilson smiled at his friend, that word leaving a horrible feeling in his gut. Sure, friends were better than enemies, but it could have been so much more if House allowed them to evolve into lovers. He was going to do his best not to make things awkward; he never wanted to lose House as a friend or drift slightly away. For now though, it was too painful, so he could not fake his feelings, only sugar coat them. Even though House stayed quiet, he decided to see him off.

“I’ll see you around.” he stated with a smile before heading toward the elevator.

He hoped to see him around later anyway, wishing House would later get a questioning for cancer later on. That way the silence would be forced to be broken and things would meld together. The last thing he wanted to do was push House however, since the silence did allow him time to come to terms with everything. The elevator doors cut off his sight of House, his head leaning against the back wall as he sighed heavily. Things had to go on as normal, as if nothing happened, except no one knew how much had and was going on. Thoughts of past relationships popped into his head, this was probably just another painful repeat. Most likely, he would find someone else and then House would fall into the friendship status, becoming a perfect fit. It just hurt now because it was fresh, just like when he left a wife or girlfriend, someone always came to fill in the missing piece and House should be no different.

As the elevator opened, he walked toward his office. Using his key, he pushed the door past him to reveal a darkened room. A flip of the switch eliminated the room; he stared vacantly for a few moments before walking in and getting settled. Someone would come to replace House, but it was going to be a painful wait.

A very annoyed Foreman walked the halls, he had been called to go and see House. He would prefer to start off his day a different way but he was amazed that House was even here this early in the morning. He walked to the office that usually breeded arguements and sarcasm. As he pushed open the door he saw House playing with a Rubiks cube. He sighed as he crossed his arms, "What did you want?"

House stopped turning the cube to look up, "What I want is an answer to why you think this girl has cancer?" He held up his hand before Foreman spoke. "And if you think that she has it, why haven't you tested for it?" House was a bit irritated, the cold goodbye, well the informal goodbye between him and Jimmy left him feeling worse. He felt like he had disappointed him and he couldn't fix it. To add to his current frustrations, his team had failed to run many tests on their newest patient.

Foreman attempted to interrupt House but he had seemed in no mood for it. He simply waited patiently as House asked his second question. "We had thought that you would like to cast your opinion first or maybe get Wilson's opinion." Foreman didn't try to come up with excuses and kept his answer short. He had other things to do then to deal with House's attitude.

House rubs his temples and sighs, "Why don't you go ahead and take her charts and information to Wilson, tell me what he says." He turns his chair so his back is to Foreman. House didn't think that Wilson wanted anything to do with him at the moment. He knew it would look like an act of avoidence but maybe it would be best if they spent some time apart.

Foreman decided not to ask why House didn't want to talk to Wilson himself. He just nodded and took up a couple of files from House's desk. Foreman walked out of his office and headed to the elevator. He arrived shortly after at Wilson's door. He had a respect for Wilson, he was good at his job and had a good bedside manner. He often wondered why he even associated with House. He knocked softly on the door.

Wilson scribbled away at some of the files on his desk, scanning over some X-Rays from his patients. Luckily for the most part today, none of them came positive. Those with treatment seemed to be doing well, in some cases the cancer disappearing. So far, the day was getting better and it kept things off House. Though it was every other thought, working helped place his mind on patients and helping people, which was always important. A knock came at his door, he looked up, a part of his hoping it was House.

“Come in.” he called out.

Foreman stepped in with the charts in hand. "House wanted me to show you these." He dropped them on Wilson's desk, and stepped back slightly. He realized that House was in a worse mood then usual and he seemed to be avoiding Wilson. Usually House would use any excuse to go see Wilson but apparently whatever put him in a foul mood had something to do with Dr. Wilson.

Wilson glanced down at the files, his eyes glazing over as he stared off. So, it seemed things were going to be like this the rest of the day. He sighed softly as he opened the folder and began to look at her chart. Grasping the X-ray, he helped it up to the light. Maybe during lunch, he would go seek out House. This was not going to put a dent in their relationship they had now, Wilson wouldn’t let it. Though he was mad, he didn’t want to behave immaturely about this. Then again, space might be for the best, at least for the day, but that was his anger talking again. As the day went on, he would try to feel better so this could blow over faster.

“I don’t see cancer, but there is some irregularity. Possibly a tumor, if so it’s benign. Double check to be sure.” he replied placing the X-Ray into the folder and handing it back to Foreman.

Alright, here it was. A new day at the hospital, like any other. Just be cool Chase, just be cool. Nothing is wrong, or funny or anything. They probably kiss all the time.

Chase tried to swallow the lump in his throat away. Had he really missed this aspect of House and Wilson's relationship for so long? Or had he subconsciously tried to block it out? The thought that this was the first time the two kissed didn't occur. It looked so...

...non- awkward.

He sighed, and went to grab himself a cup of coffee in the conference room. Maybe with some caffeine in his body his mind would be able to come up for a perfectly reasonable non-frustrating explanation for the entire situation... Or not.

He had two sips, and looked over to House's office he could see through the glass wall and door separating the rooms. He was there. Maybe that wasn't such a good thing?
Chase felt like he would try to break both the man's legs if he did as much as look at him.
He felt betrayed. Hurt. Genuinely hurt. And even though his common sense told him that House probably had no idea about his feelings for Wilson, that nobody at all knew how Chase felt for Wilson, his heart told him they DID know. And ignored it.

Foreman watched as Wilson made his diagnosis. But he sensed something under the surface of Wilson's cool facade. He decided he was reading too much into this. He took the chart and folder from Wilson, "Thanks, Dr. Wilson." He said simply avoiding asking him what may or may not be wrong. He nodded his head to him in a slight farewell as he walked out the door. He walked briskly down the hallway, finding his way to the elevator and shortly after, House's office. Passing a puzzled looking Chase on the way.

Wilson nodded as Foreman left the room, a sigh falling from his lips once the door closed. He picked up a folder that Cuddy must have delivered to him, since it was a patient he was not familiar with. Giving it a once over, he closed it before heading out of his office. Finally, a new patient, this should keep his mind more focused, so long as he didn’t run into House along the way. He entered a new room, a woman looking up at him before it closed to give them privacy.

Chase shot Foreman a glare that could mean an entire spectrum of things, but resembled the glare of a child who needed Superdaddy to save him from the monsters under his bed most.

Did Foreman know? Was he involved? No, no way, that would mean they would have the best love triangle ever going on without anyone noticing.
Or.. Everybody knowing but nobody caring but him.

Chase mentally scolded himself for his ignorance and decided he should simply ask people about what was going on rather than drive himself mad with his own imagination.

Then he decided it as better to avoid the topic until he saw it happen again. Maybe he had dreamt it? No... He would have realized it was a dream, his dreams never were this realistic. But... Had it been realistic at all? House and Wilson kissing? Outside? Hell, he remembered his first kiss with a guy really well, and it had been in the janitor's closet in his high school, out of everybody's sight, even though the other had been openly gay.

House and Wilson both didn't seem very.. gay.. to Chase -something he really regretted- so the thought of them kissing outside seemed even less realistic. Maybe he had been hallucinating?

No, no... Maybe.. Foreman knew.. Or.. Cameron... But.. He couldn't really ask either of them, could he? If he would ask Forman, he would probably be laughed at. And if he would ask Cameron... She would probably just tell House about it. And wether it was true or not, it would be horribly embarassing. So he just kept staring at Foreman, indecisive.

(( Sorry for the lack of action, I just can't imagine Chase walking over to anyone and prenouncing his thoughts like that you know. sad I'm thinking I'll have him be completely absent-minded when he has to treat a patient so people will a least know something is wrong))

((It's alright. I'm just wondering if House is going to confront Chase at all. Not confront as in about Wilson, just talk to him period. I figure he won't care if Chase looks upset until he starts endangering patients. But if nothing else is going to happen, maybe we can all just more forward to lunch or something.))

It was lunch and House sat in his office debating whether or not he was in the mood to go and get something to eat. The grumble of his stomach was enough to make him reach for his cane and struggle to get out of his chair. He was tired and feeling old, which never put him in a good mood. He wished Wilson was there to brighten this horrible day, but he quickly shoved the thought away. If Wilson wanted to, he would come, if not that would make it clear to House of where they stood. He moved towards his office door with the intention of going to the cafeteria. He stopped in mid-step though, realizing that he would be sitting alone.

It wouldn't be the first time House would be alone but it would be the first in a while. He shook his head slightly as if to clear the emotional pain that had surfaced. But of course forcing that pain down only brought his physical pain to attention. The pain made him sharp but it also made him angry, well angrier then normal. He made it down to the cafeteria and went to get his food. He got it quickly and retreated to a corner to eat in solitude.

Walking out of his office, he turned a key to lock the door so people would know he was out to lunch. He took a look to see if House was in his office; it seemed he was off to lunch as well. A lump formed in his throat, fearing if this distance was only making things worse with them. Heading toward the elevator, he headed for the cafeteria to see if he could locate House. This whole thing was stupid and immature, they were adults for Gods’ sake and things should not be solved with a cold shoulder. Even if he was still upset, he didn’t want to completely isolate House. Once the elevators stopped on the floor with the cafeteria, he walked inside and grabbed a tray. After going down the line and paying the cashier, he scanned the area for House. His gaze fell onto a corner of the room, House sitting alone and appeared to be sulking. With a deep breath, he headed for the table, before standing over House and eying the chair.

“Room for one more?” he asked.

He wanted to make a witty comment, but the moment itself was too awkward. Such a comment would only make the air even thicker.
