The most recent special quest/item thingie (kind of crappy, though it is), has made me wonder,
Do any of you play Magic?
I like the game, but I'm not really very good, because I can rarely find people to play with me. I'm too shy to play strangers online because most people just want to have fun plastering N00bs. I wouldn't say I'm a n00b, somewhere between a n00b and a moderately good player.. maybe..
I have quite a lot of cards for Magic Online though, anyone wanna play with me sometime? mrgreen

I'd play with you, but I've never played on line. I used to play a lot (back in my high school days) but as I got older I grew apart from (or rather they grew apart from me) the people I played with. I had a really nice red/white deck and I had a lot of cards which appearently you can't play anymore (like forks and I think flying dragons) that I found our nobody uses anymore when I finally broke down and sold my cards cry
Is Tim still available? He was what made the blue deck worth playing and usually ended up killing me (stupid directed magic).

I used to play the Magic Collectible Card Game until 2001.
I still refuse to pay any money to WoTC for buying some 0s and 1s which will lose their worth after they decide to shut down the MO-servers, but I do own the Magic Interactive Encyclopedia (containing all cards up to the Judgment edition) and the Magic: The Gathering game by Microprose.
I recall there was a possibility to play Magic via the MIE, but I don't think anyone other than me does own it.

I use to play. I had fun with it and then just stopped playing. ):
I use a mix between blue and black or black and white. I can't remember. It's been way way way too long since I played.
I still enjoy looking at the cards though, the art work on them is great.

My exes Dan and Clint were both big into it (Dang, I have a lot of exes, don't I?). Dan had MASSIVE boxes of cards, he also had a shirt with the Forest Mana symbol (a tree I think?) on it.
Never got into it. Doressa, I wonder if Magic the gathering is big in Australia or not, it could be why you haven't heard of it.

Maybe I'm lost xD Theoretically, we could still play sometime, the program is free to download (I think..), and anyone can use the standard/starter decks against each other for practice battles. (at no cost) You only have to have your own cards if you want to use/create your own deck. If you use a pre-made deck, you can use virtual cards which you don't have to 'own'.

I got them all through gifts and clever trading. I agree, I would have a hard time paying actual cash for them.

I played up until the fall of 01. And that as only beacuse all my friends and I went off to college and I'm way to shy to ask someone to play. (even more so because all I really had was a white started deck sweatdrop )
I sold all the cards about a year or so after.

Hmm, maybe I will download it. Tim was a card "The Enchanter" that was particularly nasty. He was just a pitiful little 1/2 creature but his summon cost was low and every turn you can tap him (and I think two mana) and deal one damage to any target, including the player. Since he is always tapped he can never defend so in my deck I had to use lightning, fireballs or forks to take him out and if your playing someone with a blue/black (and many of friends were) there were a number of cards that would let you resurrect a card from your graveyard. I kinda miss Magic, those were some good times.

Ironically enough I was talking with one of my classmates (I'm in school for the week!!!) today about it. We're going to play in between performance tests tommorrow. I still find people to play even though I'm in the Navy and hit up tournaments when I go home.

I used to play Magic regularly during the 6th and 7th grade (around 1996). Sadly, I did the stupid thing and traded all of them for Pokemon cards. Man, that was a dumb idea considering I had some valuable cards. I wish I had them still.
About half a year ago, I had the random urge to buy some. I bought a pre-made sliver deck. I mainly wanted to collect the cards again, but I really haven't bought any since. I did play my roommate and killed his a** royally with that deck. I do love those cute little slivers... xd
