If it were me, I'd say one of the first two, but that's ... me. I love the simple lines and the collar of the first two, and I'm not real partial to giant bows like the purple one has. But ... it's not me, so you'll have to take her tastes in mind. Which style would she prefer? Does she have a lot of clothing coated in ruffles, flounces and bows like the third? Or are they more simple like the other?
P.S. I think the hemline and back on the purple one is darling, but there's just too many bows in front! Eek! If the bows are detachable, then my vote is on the purple. But. I'll have to go look that up on their site later?
[edit]: Looked at the site, but I can't tell if they are or not and I'm too lazy to shove it through a translator. I'll check in the morning. >_<
[edit2]: I lied and got curious. The sleeves do come off, as does the big bow at the waist like in the pictures, but the rest are all attached. Hrm. I do like it significantly more without the waist-bow. Bah. Torn. I'll think about it. Either way, terribly sweet of you to do this for her!

She owns both...since she's been into Loli for about 7 years she owns many many dresses. She wears mostly purple, and then like I said the occasional pink or white dress but the actual styles of the dresses vary a lot. I've seen her in very frilly attire but I've also seen her in more simple dresses. The only thing I know she is not particularly fond of is crocheted things. She thinks it's too chunky...but maybe the bows could be considered chunky looking as well?? ...Hmm...
Anyways, thanks for your opinion! It was both helpful and hilarious. (not trying to offend you, but I seriously love Lolita's and their behavior. While I'm not one myself and would never have the courage to wear it day to day, I have an immense respect for those who do and those who follow Loli strictly. I think that my admiration gives me the right to find the antics of Loli's amusing...really, my friend acts that way too when she's trying to figure out if she is going to purchase a dress or not. Tsk, tsk. So much fretting over a bow. It's marvelous! <3) And yeah, she totally deserves it^^

For such expensive gifts, I usually don't try to keep the idea secret. Especially if she may end up not liking it, selling it, letting it sit in her closet, or whatever else.
Just ask her opinion.

And Catharsis, I think I may do something of the sort w/o telling her staight out that I'm getting it for her. I'm sure she'll figure it out anyways but at least this way I can pretend like it's going to be a sucessful surprise. >w<

XD I should note that I'm sort of in the same boat as you, though--I love the style, admire many of its followers, but have neither the money, time, nor confidence to wear it as I would like to do never mind live a "lolita" lifestyle.
Christ. I'd be terrified of getting paint, charcoal or ink on myself every day. o_o

I actually like the pink BtSSB dress. It's pretty. <3 But if she wears more purple, should you choose the first dress design, getting it in white might be better.

I like the first design. I say get it in white, so that it will go well with any colors she chooses to wear with it, such as purple. ^-^
