Who: Setsu, Bryna and Shoom
What: The three meet for the first time.
Where: out deep in the woods.
Why: an undead, a nobody and a dusk? perfect insanity. X3

Damn this body, being so difficult to conform to human functions. The indigo haired femme gave a breathless sigh, more out of habit than anything else. She had found quiet refuge within the woods, away from both civilians and any threats. Especially since she was still stubbornly refusing to fully associate within this world.

Such determination was evident by her current action, leaning heavily on a tree standing upright. The pale canine body naturely wanted to fall on four legs, a wish she wouldn't grant. She took a firm step forward, slowly training the body to walk on two legs alone. She had heard anthros could do so, why not her? Slowly, she removed her paw from the wooden support to balance upright. Now if she could actually walk without stumbling.

If there was one thing not to be counted on in this world of kitsusagi... it was solitude. Especially when it concerned a particular pair of Nobodies that were darting through the deep woods. The half-grown silver haired kit and her odd looking little friend with the pearly fur and red-to-gold stripes both seemed to have a knack for finding and bothering people who didn't like being bothered. The fact that they were not supposed to be this far out in the woods also did nothing to hamper the actions of either; they were both, in their own peculiar ways, virtually impossible to hurt by normal means and so "it's too dangerous" didn't register with them. At all.

The smaller of the two, the pearly one was quite literally slithering across the ground with more speed than he should have a right to, what appeared to be a small water pistol clamped between his zippered jaws. The silver haired kit zipped along after him, floating some few feet above the ground. "Shoom! Give back my water gun!" The slithery Duskitsu cackled around his prize in his leaky-tire voice and simply went faster.

At least up until the point he nearly ran into Setsu, at which point he abruptly pulled up short, dropped said prize, and then raised himself so that his head was at eye level with her... though he didn't seem to have eyes, or a nose even, with which to meet her gaze. Even stranger... his head and forepaws were on a level with her face, but his hind feet remained on the ground, the middle of his body stretched up thin like a piece of elastic.

"Shoom finds new friend!" he announced in his leaky tire voice just as Bryna darted around from behind him to reclaim her "weapon" from the ground. She clung to it like a long lost friend even as she peered up into Setsu's mismatched eyes. "Are you sure she's your friend? We just met her." Shoom returned to his normal shape to look at Bryna, which wasn't really a normal shape in the first place. "Shoom is friends with everyone! Friends just don't know it yet!"

...Setsu's day just a got lot more interesting. Whether she liked it or not.

The dark boots edged forward on the leafy ground, eyes focused in full concentration to the task. At least said shoes were made for gripping and greatly aided her in remaining steady. Three tails hovered near the ground behind her, acting as balancing weights to the awkward position. The constant twitching of the tails caught the few glimpses of light filtering in from the trees above, and sent them reflecting dully in white and lilic hues.

Her pale ears pinned flat back at voices nearby, then the whisper of movement behind her. With a stony expression, she turned slowly and steadily to glance over her shoulder. She was disturbed to find nothing, eyes scanning quickly the area behind her. There had been someone there, her senses didn't just flare for nothing. A vibration near her feet sent her twisting forward, glazed eyes widening at the close appearance of...something. She snarled and back stepped from the puppet-like face, eyes trailing down the stretched body before catching sight of another kitsusagi behind it.

Her front paws clenched at her sides, giving a dead glare to the odd pair. A floater and a stretcher? What strange abilities these kitsusagi's had. One thing was obvious, they were both of youthful nature...whether that was a good thing or not. Red and purple orbs peered at the gun, glad to find it was nothing more than a toy. Tilting her chin down, the chilly female closed her eyes as if in the throws of a headache, before turning away from the small beings and marching stiffly away. A nice, peaceful woodland in the middle of nowhere and suddenly things were just...floating on through all loudly. What use was that to her? None at all.

Youthful in nature, yes, and quite curious. Both also had a disturbing lack of tact sometimes. Like now.

Shoom spotted a small katana strapped to Setsu's waist and stretched over to look at it. Finally she got far enough away that the stretch was uncomfortable and so his hind legs began to waddle along behind him as he continued his unwanted following.

Bryna watched Shoom for a few moments, apparently thinking about something. Odds are it had started with the situation and wound up somewhere completely different. Bryna was by no means "slow"... in fact she really thought too fast, questions, posture, everything shifting around and changing in lighting flashes. It was a good thing the girl wasn't really disposed toward violence the way some of her father's peers were.

Bryna floated after Setsu, and then in front of her. "I'm Bryna! You're pretty. Why do you have scaly tales?" Fortunately, lightning flashes or not, she had at some point learned to moderate the number of questions and comments she made at once.

Setsu's ear remained pinned back, even as she divided her attention between the others and her efforts of balance. Soft vibrations in the ground alerted her to the fact that one or both of them were following. Felt like one, since she had seen the other clothed kitsusagi floating securely in the air.

She continued her tread without pause, eyes turning to the side to glance at the zippered being following and staring. Or....at least it appeared to be staring. She couldn't help but wonder if it was a costume or his actual skin, seeing as it was flexible to all his movements. Her senses prickled when Setsu finally turned to inspect where the other kitsusagi had gone. She found the girl floating towards her slowly, then moving straight in her path and forcing the horned femme to stop.

Bryna? The adult only gave her a blank stare, her maw straight and vacant eyes hinting that she didn't care at the moment. Nor did she give any thought or reaction to the compliment. Being dead for sometime made any concerns of just how 'pretty' she appeared to others a useless priority. Though, her brow did twitch as she questioned her scaly tails. The half genetic of Capricorn, blessed with the ability to swim with scaley tails. But this body now wasn't built for such use as swimming endurance. "The scales," her tails moved in a curve as if summoned, "they help me fight off enemies." Though dirty and unglossed, they could stiffen to be as hard as stone. But for now, she left them loose and soft like plastic. A frown now moved to her face as she looked between the two. "And young ones shouldn't be out alone talking to strangers." In other words....shoo.

Bryna blinked and opened her mouth to speak. Cue the Bryna logic. "Strangers? Stranger than what? You're not any stranger than some of the people I live with." She beamed then, pleased with her utterly incorrect interpretation of Setsu's statement. Not that she knew that at the moment... she was keeping her thoughts to herself so far.

But, where as Bryna tended to being annoying vocally... Shoom was far more annoying with his complete lack of the concept of "personal space". This lack of understanding decided to make itself known with admirably indiscrimant and very sudden action. Shoom zipped up off the ground and around Setsu's waste, leaky-tire cackle and all. "Shoom makes good belt!" And indeed... he had flattened himself into a belt shape, tails and legs forming utility loops and with his head in the place where the buckle should be.

Setsu couldn't help her ears slowly moving down with each word Bryna said. No, just...no. The kitsusagi kit had totally taken her words out of context. Shoulders slouched and a brow raised to the young one. "Why thanks. I can just imagine." She didn't even want to bother thinking how strange she was on the scale.

Glazed eyes widened and maw clenched as the white creature made a sudden movement, and her instincts went on the defense. What with his speedy actions and the way he was coiling about her....was he attacking her? Elbows bent back in her effort to grab the offending zipper kitsusagi, only to get still in stunned silence. A belt?!?!? All that offending movement for a mimic of a belt? The rude and close proximity made her scowl, and her paw darted out to snatch him around the neck. "Listen here thing....Shoom. Don't. Ever. Do. That. Again." He was lucky she didn't hack him in two with her short katana here and now. She stretched his neck out to hold him up toward Bryna, now well aware of his elasticity. "Just what is this...friend.....of yours?"

Bryna flipped over to float upside down and poked Shoom in the nose. "He's a Nobody! Like me. But he's a different kind. He's called a Dusk. He's uh... stretchy. And fast."

As if to demonstrate just how stretchy and fast he was, Shoom made his neck quite suddenly paper thin, slipped out of Setsu's grasp, and oozed with lightning speed into her gray hoody. "Shoom found comfy spot!"

The adult blinked at Bryna's explanation. She had no ideas about was was common or normal in this world, so could only accept what was explained to her quietly. Still....a nobody? Was that a title, or a grouping? "I see." She wondered what 'grouping' she was placed in.

A shift in her paw made her glance down, only to find her paw clenching air. Where did? A blur of white caught the corner of her eye, and her head tilted to find him rest in her hoody. She already knew her arms weren't that flexible, at least while trying to remain balanced upright. All she could do was glare at the Dusk with her red eye. "You'd be wise to remove yourself..." She didn't want to prance about like a rabid canine trying to remove the pest from her back.

"Shoom doesn't want to be Wise. Shoom likes being Shoom! If Shoom will turn into Wise if Shoom moves, Shoom will stay here." Shoom logic was even worse than Bryna logic.

Bryna floated higher so she could spy Shoom over Setsu's shoulder. "Heeeey, no fair! I'm too big to fit in there with you any more!"

Setsu was probably praising whatever higher powers existed here for that little sliver of spared dignity.

If she had blood circulation, it'd probably be pulsing by now. She didn't come here to babysit. Especially beings who had an alternate dimension of thinking, apparently.

She leaned her head back, eyes closed and counting to ten. Why why why? Once her counting was complete, she looked forward and began walking once more. Her pace was getting better, as standing idle trained her legs to such a form of movement. "Fine then, Dusk. Bryna." She nodded to the floating child, not bothering to glance at the Shoom behind her. At the very least, he was light. "Be of some use and give me some location." Bossy for a nameless stranger, ne? Perhaps there was somewhere in this world where her own world could be met, or at the very least items of such lands could be found here. After all, she had all the time one could ever need to search for such things.

Since Shoom was apparently going to be allowed to stay where he was, he burbled happily. Which was a decidedly bizarre noise considering his voice.

Bryna floated along beside Setsu, still upside down. "Location?... Like where we are? We're in the woods on the Mountain!" Setsu, of course, would not know the distinction of being on the Mountain yet. Bryna turned and pointed off just about the direction that they'd arrived from. "And if you go down the Mountain and on across the land below, you get to where the Realm is! My house is close to Realm, but it's sorta between Realm and Mountain." She finally flipped right side up and looked at Setsu once more curiously. "There's people at my house that come from other-worlds, and they've got horns and scales and neat clothes. Well, they don't all have all of those... but all together they do! Are you from an other-world?" She looked confused for a moment. "What's your name?

Ears pinned back at the sounds from the Dusk behind her. Just because her arms couldn't reach didn't mean he was completely safe. A scaley tale twisted up quickly and smacked Shoom like a fly swatter. "Do keep it down back there." Simple as that.

Setsu walked on slowly, head to the side to listen to the upside down girl. Yes, she had been told before that this location was a mountain...named mountain. How original. Eyes followed the direction of the pointing paw while her head remained forward. Realm huh? Her face showed slight surprise, fleeting and almost unreadable, as Bryna spoke of other worlds. Had she said anything? Or...was it that obvious with the way she behaved? Seeing no point to lie, and finding no threat in saying so, Setsu nodded to the youth. "Yes, I'm not from here. And the name's Setsu." Twisting her body, she headed in the direction Bryna had just pointed. She had nothing else to do, and in the very least, it would get those two home.

Shoom gave a squeel of surprise and reached out to swat back at the tail, but there was the distinct sound of a zipper closing even as he did so. There was also a shift in weight as he poked his head out of the hoody and then stretched his paw down to poke at one of the tails, not knowing which one was the offending appendage.

Bryna assumed a position of floating on her back as though she were in a pool. "Valefor and Ifrit come from the same world... I was told there's lots of kitsus around from their world, but I've never met any but them. Lotsa people from my dad's world are here, but I've only seen three of 'em aside from him, and I didn't really get to talk to them." Being from a Before was something Bryna like to talk about and find out about. Her dad = awesome, her dad had a Before, therefore Befores = awesome, and they were worth finding out about. But, there was one thing Bryna had that was awesome that her dad didn't. She floated a little farther forward so Setsu could see her and wiggled her arms. "I've got arm socks!" She beamed, obviously quite proud of the fact.

Setsu only flicked eyes back, guessing the Dusk was falling out with the tug around her shoulders. A touch to her tails sent them twisting in irritation before they settled, lowered closer to the ground. A good jump over a fallen branch knocked whatever intentions the Dusk had away, the motion effectively plopping him back up on the hoody. Or right out, either way didn't matter to her.

She kept tabs on distance and sight, tucking them away as details for further use if need be. She could only wonder how far the 'mountain' streatched, seeing as they were still sloping downward and surrounded by trees. Even with this terrain of steepness, the adult still had no reason to utter a breath of strain. One of the perks, perhaps. She remained silent as Bryna spoke, giving some display of uninterest despite her politeness. "I see, and do any of them get to return to their world?" That was the greatest question to mind for the horned kitsusagi, is to know whether this new world was her permanent residence.

The femme blinked as the girl floated further, wiggling her arms in delight. There was no response to her excitement but a poker face from the adult. Her own arms lifted, and with them a smirk. Her dark sleeves scrunched at her elbows, revealing her own arm gear, lined with fur darker than her own. "Arm guards." Haa.
