I''m 19 and run my guild called "The Teen Sex, Pregnancy and Puberty Guild". The link''s in my sig. 3nodding The guild is meant for people who have questions regarding teen sex, pregnancy or puberty, or any of those topics in general. Here''s some of the things mentioned in my guild: (Taken from the guild''s front page) Quote: - Abortion - Addictions information (including pills, cyber sex, internet and porn addictions) - Advice for fathers-to-be - Alternatives to sex - Birth Control - Eating disorder information - HIV and AIDS information - Homosexuality - Kissing (ways to kiss, types of kisses, etc) - Masturbation (male and female ? includes techniques, methods, reasoning behind masturbation, etc) - Pelvic exams, pap smears and breast exams for women - PREGNANCY issues and information (for teens and grown women - includes list of symptoms, baby tips, week-by-week guide to pregnancy, etc) - Prostate exam information for men - PUBERTY issues and information (male and female ? such as wet dreams, frequent erections for guys, menstruation and cramps for girls, pubic hair issues for both, how-to info on shaving for both genders, etc) - Rape and abuse - SEX (basic sex education, information for first timers, alternatives to having sex, positions, types of sex, toys and fetishes, etc) - STD''s/STI''s information and lists And much more! There are discussion threads for people who''ve had abortions, been raped or abused, or who are homosexuals. There''s a thread for posting pictures of yourself, and another one for your pets on Gaia. The list goes on. I''ve tried to make the guild a warm and welcome place for people who are uninformed or uneducated when it comes to sex ed. There are a lot of kids who aren''t even getting the basics from school or from their parents, and quite frankly that scares me. Hence the guild. There is a list of rules, but the main ones are to use as little netspeak as possible, no flaming, and to post your thread in a sticky (instead of in the main part of the guild) if at all possible. There''s a huge amount of stickies, so I''d like to get the guild to the point of where you can go in one sticky and answer 4 different questions, instead of having to go into 4 different threads to do the same thing. It's a great place to go to get your stuff answered, I've been there i few times myself, and they're very friendly and straight to the point, which you'll need for these kinds of questions. Stickying it so anyone that needs to their health related sex Q's answered can.

Ok, this has been bothering me for awhile, and I can't seem to find anything about it.
If you're on birth control pills and get pregnant, how can you know that you are? Wouldn't being on birth control pills show up as a false positive, since birth control pills cause your body to think that you're pregnant?
If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. ^_^ thanks!

If anyone knows anything about this, please let me know. ^_^ thanks! I've heard an answer to that before, I just can't remember what it is. I'd imagine if you got pregnant, your body would start reacting to the pregnancy and start showing signs of pregnancy. I know with Depo, if you're late getting your next shot, they'll make you take a pregnancy test to see if you're pregnant or not before giving you the next one. And regarding the birth control pills making you think you're pregnant... I'm really not sure, sorry. whee It might be something to post in the guild if you'd like, if you haven't already asked there, or you could ask your doctor/gyno.

Birth control pills are estrogen or progestin, which tricks the body into thinking that is it pregnant so it will not release an egg.
They are different hormones. So it is possible to test for pregnancy even though you are on the pill.

So it is possible to test for pregnancy even though you are on the pill. That sounds like what I was trying to remember... something about a pregnancy test coming up positive because it'd be picking up on different hormones than the ones in the Pill. My apologies, everyone. I didn't mean for this thread to become all about Nikolita,or anything. I just wanted a thread where anybody that needs help can come and get it when they need it. And thats what this thread will be, from now and into the future. And advice shall not be charged. It shall come free with a purchase of the IPG's products if they want any help. Like i said before, this thread wasn't meant to put the spotlight on one mod, and if it turned out to be that way, they i apologize. I hope that we van make this guild a better place together, through teamwork.
