Name: Johannes Richter
Age: 19
Birthday: December 21, 1921

Gender: Male
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 185 lbs.
Hair color: Golden yellow
Eye color: Light turquoise green
Nationality: Austrian

Time Period: Between 1930's and 1940's.
Arrival at LOTUS: June 16, 2007 (He was 17).

Personality: A bit aloof at times, but mostly quiet and calm tempered. Sociable. He does everything with a passion that's rare in young men – so much so that at often times when things aren’t working out, he tends to curse (like any other person raised in a Hispanic environment.) Treats the ladies with the utmost respect (he was raised in Spain for a while, after all). Due to the fact that he doesn't have a clue as to who it was that took his parents from him, he doesn't tend to trust anyone wholeheartedly at first, except the people at LOTUS. He prefers to talk a bit (i.e. interrogate in a way that only he knows it’s an interrogation) until he’s sure what the real deal is. He loves to travel once in a while, if money and time let him. Otherwise than that, he's quite content reading books and/or newspapers in search of clues, or just passing the time...

Skills: A bit of analysis, being able to diplomatically establish relations/talks, can fence a bit. Fluent in Spanish and English, knows basic German since he hasn’t used it in a while (not sure if that’s a skill xD)
Weaknesses: Desperate at times, a bit dense.

I've been living in Spain for the past 11 years. I don't know anything about my parents, only that they were taken from Austria by an unknown person when I was 5.
I wish to find out what has happened to them! So, when I found LOTUS, I knew that this organization can help me in my journey.

Johannes Günter Richter was born on the coldest day of December, to the warm couple Karl Richter and Anna Muller. He was very active in his first years on this earth. His father, an ex-soldier, taught him discipline and self defense.; his mother, a teacher, taught him courage and how to read and write. He went to the local school, where he was quite content, despite the fear among the adults that there might be a revolution soon. He wasn’t rich, nor poor; just a middle class son, wanting to play with his friends.

Then it happened.

One day, throughout the house, there was an eerie sound. Footsteps. Ironically enough, Johannes went to his parents’ room earlier, because he had a nightmare. But the child was sleeping away, when the sounds began. His father woke up, and grabbed his rifle, and went downstairs. His mother grabbed Johannes in her arms and protected him, making the child mummer: “Hmm, mommy, what’s happening?”

“Nothing darling, but you must keep quiet.”

“…Where’s Daddy?"

Johannes’ father climbed downstairs and looked around, like a soldier does. Once a Soldier, Always a Soldier. He walked around cautiously, trying to figure what was it that was lurking in their house at this time of night. Johannes’ mother tucked Johannes in his room, amidst the many questions that Johannes was asking. “I’ll be right back. Stay here, darling, ok?”

“But mommy--”

“Shh. Go to sleep, Johannes.”

And with a kiss on the forehead, she walked out of the room.

A few seconds passed, and it wasn’t until a tumbling sound was made, that Johannes jumped out of bed, and ran down to see what was the excitement. “Is there a party?!”, said Johannes enthusiastically. But alas, there was no party. ”Mommy?” “Daddy?” “Where are you?”

“JOHANNES!!”

Upon hearing his mother’s scream, Johannes looked towards the scream’s direction, and, through the window, saw his mother and father being taken away against their will by a rather large person. A tall, grand figure, clad in the darkness of night, for his back was turned, with him carrying Johannes’ parents as if they were mere toys.

“Mommy!” “Daddy!”

Tears in eyes, he ran outside quickly and….all of a sudden, they were gone. Only 1, 2, 3 seconds passed while he ran, and they were gone. How, how could they have disappeared so quickly?

And that was the night where Johannes’ stayed outside, wailing and crying, out in the cold and lonely night.

Barcelona. Spain. 12 years later

Enter Johannes Richter, 17 years old. Born on the coldest day of December, he himself is as cold as winter. But that’s only to most of the world. Among friends, colleagues, teachers, he’s warm as love and life, but aloof at times.

He’s a top student at the Escola Alemanya Sant Albert Magne, and he is one of the most talented fencers around. He speaks both English and Spanish fluently. He has learned English because he dreams of going one day to America. He lives with the D’Acosta family, composed of Alberto, the head and a rare politician who speaks the truth, María Ecchevarría, the matriarch and house wife, and their two children, Esperanza, 7, and Alberto Jr., 17.

One day in the gym….

Johannes and Alberto Jr. are practicing their fencing. Ever since the day Alberto brought Johannes home, the two quickly became friends. They refer to each other as hermanos, for you don‘t need to be of same blood to be a brother. They, however, forget that they are brothers temporarily whilst in the middle of competitions, either in national ones or between themselves.

>thrring!<

>thrang!<

>ktang!<

>clutters<

Of course, it was always a tie. And very friendly the competition.

“Well, Johannes, it seems that ambos we have defeated each other. Otra vez.”, said Alberto while picking up his sword.

“Yes. I think there’s not going to be a day where one of us will win.”

“Sí, but that is good! It shows that we are ambos expert fencers.”

“Well, you’re probably better than me.” “After all, you were raised with a sword in your hand.”, said Johannes while picking up his sword.

“Sí, pero you pick things up fast.” “You learn fast.” “That is why the profesores choose you when they are looking for competitors.” “You are better than me, hermano.”

“Really?….” “Why am I not sure of that?”

Both begin to laugh when the door opens and Alberto enters, along with the precocious Esperanza.

Alberto?” “Juan?”

Oh, padre!” “Vater.” “And little Esperanza.”

Alberto, I must speak with Juan for a minute.” “It is of urgency.”

Sí, padre. ¿Y cómo está mi hermanita hoy?
(Yes, father. And how is my little sister today?)

“Ich es fine.”, said the little girl, combining languages innocently.

Johannes laughs, saying, “No, Esperanza, you say ‘Estoy bien’ when speaking to Spanish speakers. You say ‘I am fine’ to English speakers, and you say ‘Ich bin fein’ to German speakers.”

¡Ay, qué confusión!”, said an exasperated Esperanza.
(Oh, what confusion!)

“ {laughs} Do not worry, hijita.” “You’ll get the hang of it.” “Bueno, Juan, shall we go?”

“Yes.”

Johannes was happy. It only seemed like yesterday that he was taken to the orphanage by local Austrian police, to stay for the next year. However, Fate must have loved Johannes dearly, for coincidentally the following week, Alberto D’Acosta, the ambassador that Spain sent to Austria, was visiting the local towns. He had the sincere motive of helping the Austrian people live happily and safe, while trying to destroy any notions of revolution on their minds. He did not want war to destroy people’s lives. He was a Pacifist, and one of the Old Order of Pacifists, not those that wanted peace but use violence in order to get their way of peace.

He was on official visit when he was visiting the orphanages. He wanted to see how Austria’s future was, because, as he says: “Even the most poorest of all humankind, will sometimes be the most important, because he/she will save the foundation of that which is good and pure.” All the children ran up to him, tugging at his cape and crowding him. The security detail that accompanied him was ready to move into action, when he said, “Let them act as the children they are. They are innocent, and only wish to know.”

He talked to the children for a little bit, telling them stories and teaching them games. When time came, he had to leave, and bided the children good-bye. “Auf Wiedersehen, Herr D’Acosta!”, yelled the children happily. Alberto was on his way out when he saw little Johannes sitting on a chair, looking out the window. He asked the lady in charge, Ms. Kruger, what was wrong with the little boy. “Oh, Johannes is sick, Herr D’Acosta.” “He was found in front of his house, dirty and pale, and brought here.” “It seems that his parents disappeared and nobody knows where they are.” “Poor thng…” “He’s been autistic ever since.”

Alberto walked over to Johannes and asked what was wrong. “Are you looking at the magnificent birds that are flying?” “Are you looking at the people outside?” “What are you looking for, little boy?”

Johannes didn’t answer. He only shed tears.

“Ah, perhaps something happened to your family.” “That might be it.” “After all, children have the tendency to move on rather quickly, most children anyway.” “Do you not play with your friends?”

Tears. Head turning. Eyes blind of light in them. Pale.

“What is your name, little one?”

Tears. Eyes blinking. A twinkle appears.

“J…jo...”

“johan…”

Juan?”, questioned Alberto.

“Nein”

“Jo…j…Johannes.”

The spell was broken. Johannes had uttered his first word since he had arrived at the orphanage.

“But, but, how is this impossible, Herr D’Acosta?!” “What…what did you--”

“It is simple, Señorita Kruger; only by worrying about the child and asking him daily questions that a parent asks, will the child then talk.” “It appears as though here, that was not the case.”

He then said goodbye once again, and left.

As Fate loved Johannes dearly, the day Alberto’s boat was to depart, little Johannes ran quickly. Along with his bag and briefcase, he wanted to go to that man that had befriended him, the man that can help him look for his parents.

Alberto was getting out of his car, when he saw Security taking a boy away. He recognized Johannes, and told Security to let him go, for he would speak with the child.

Juan, why are you here?” “Did you come to see me off?”

“….I want to go.”

“Hmm?”

“I want to go with you.” “You can help me search for my parents.”

Alberto looked at the boy’s eyes. He would not go unless he was on that boat. And he would fight for it, as well. “…I have a little boy the same age as you. His name is Alberto too.” “How much fun will the two have when I get home.”

And Johannes smiled the biggest smile you have ever seen.

Johannes was happy.

Juan, I found out something.” “Something that concerns your parents.”

“You did?!” said Johannes surprised.

“Yes…and no.”

“What?” “Whu-what do you mean, Vater?”

“Hmm…es así…I heard through a secret agent that travels from country to country, that there is a secret organization called LOTUS. He is not seguro, but he says that they deal with something powerful. But they have an international staff. From Portugal, Ireland, and other countries.”

“So…”

Juan, you must go out and search for that organization!” “They have international claim, they have been to other places.” “They might help you in gathering information about your parents.”

“…I see. This is all well and good, but what about --?”

“Do not worry about your education; they have decided to waive your final grades and give you your degree.” “The family was prepared already. They know that you are going away.” “Alberto and Esperanza say that they will give you their sword and books, so that you will remember them.” “María is cooking tonight all your favorite foods, and I…”

“….”

“…I give you my blessing, my prayers and my love as a both father and friend.”

Johannes was sad. He had to leave the family that took him and loved him as if he were one of them. He had to leave his hermano, with whom he fenced, his hermana, to whom he read fairy tales, and his Mutter and Vater, whom seemed to had have an endless supply of love for their children.

No preocupeís, Vater. Regresaré a la familia un día, con mi familia de sangre, y juntos estaremos.
(Do not worry, Father. I will return to the family one day, with my blood family, and we’ll be together.”

And with this, is how Johannes left magnificent Spain, and headed off towards the LOTUS organization.

Karl Richter: ???
Anna Müller: ???

D’Acosta Family
Alberto D’Acosta: Ambassador of Spain to select countries. Adoptive father of Johannes.

María Ecchevarría de D’Acosta: Alberto's wife and matriarch. Works with fabric and cloths. Adoptive mother of Johannes.

Alberto D’Acosta Jr.: Firstborn of Alberto and María. Adoptive brother of Johannes, same age as Johannes. More out-going than Johannes and more willing to do things (i.e. rush in)

Esperanza D’Acosta: Secondborn and only daughter of Alberto and María. Adoptive sister of Johannes, younger. Likes fairy tales and Johannes.

LOTUS
Estrelas: The first person whom I got to know when I arrived at LOTUS. First time I met her was when I was looking around the rooms, and a scream let out. Needless to say, it was Estrelas whose rabbit Angel had cut the circutry of the room. She thought I was God, at first....Maybe I shouldn't say anymore. From the looks of it, though, she seems to be a very active girl. I can't speak for the rabbit though, we have a strained relationship....(She ate my pants when I first saw her. Most definitely, she has something against me.)

UPDATE: Yes, Angel has a vendetta. Next time we saw each other, she proceeded to eat my pants....again.

Eponine: Very shy girl. Spoke stuttering, and she could speak well, mostly to Estrelas. She seems to depend on Estrelas a lot. At least Estrelas does not mind, which is very good (although she can sometimes 'show off' Eponine too much.....) I hope she feels comfortable around the new people, including myself. I'd like to talk with her more.

Lokiari: From what I could tell, she seems to be an active person (very less active than Estrelas' activeness though), and perhaps independent? At least, that is what I perceived....I could be wrong, though I wouldn't mind.

Mokoyis: She's also named Sara, for a reason which still seems strange. But, I will not talk about it. I've no right to, I believe. She seems to be an understanding girl, very sweet. I'd love to talk with her again.

Moira: I couldn't speak with her, but she seemed to be nervous and a bit timid the first time I met her. Not to me, but in general. Perhaps it's due to the Irishman, Shane?

Shane: I don't know what to think of him yet. He's very forward, and seems to has interest in the Italianwoman, Moira....
