Constant Tchriai Atreides-Piett
Age: 1 1/2 years
Appearance: Dark reddish black coat with light tan underbelly.
Special Skills: telepathic bond with Third
Third's familiar and constant companion (no pun intended), Constant was the first creature Third encountered after his escape from the experiment. She is a Tahltan Bear Dog, an otherwise extinct breed on Earth. Though much of her background is riddled in mystery given that she came to Third as a puppy, she comes from a long line of familiars and was bred for the purpose. Constant is very playful by nature and curious. She loves Third with all her might and would do anything to protect him and the people he holds dear, and that includes Aelinye.

Though she is completely loyal to Third, do not for a moment mistake her faithfulness as submission. Constant is very strong and willful and never hesitates to make her views known to Third. He considers her opinions very important.

Constant is larger than the average for her species, her familiar bond with Third having imbued her with greater strength and power than an average dog. (As a familiar, her strength, intelligence, and powers are reflective of Third's.)


Emira Douglas
Age: 24
Appearance: 5' 1.5", 100 lbs., dark brown hair and blue eyes. Wears contacts.
Special Skills: Ex-Creationary Deity, Emira has limited control over the creation of dimensions. She is a retired imperatrix and former magistrix. One of the Emperials (#41).
Third's mother, a gentle and caring young woman who can be at times a bit too sensitive. An artist and writer, she is a full-time mother first and foremost. She tutors Third and helps direct his studies in the absence of any formal schooling. She also cooks, cleans (though not very well), does the laundry, and takes care of all the other many household needs. She generally follows Third's direction with regards to Aelinye, only stepping in when needed or asked.


Emperial Teal Atreides-Piett, a.k.a. Grey
Age: 25
Appearance: 5' 1.5", 100 lbs., dark brown hair and blue eyes. Wears glasses.
Special Skills: Ex-Creationary Deity, Emperial has limited control over the creation of dimensions. As an imperatrix, she can see into dimensions beyond her own. One of the Emperials (#15).
An important figure in Third's history, she was his guardian in another life, and Third still retains her surname. In this life, they are good friends. Grey is someone who understands Third on a special level, as she was formerly his imperatrix, and he often visits to talk to her and ask advice, or just to have a cup of tea with her and her brother, Pavel. An agapeta, she is married to James Taylor, and they live two streets away with a small army of rescued strays.

Grey is actually a composite of the original Greyhaven Emperial (Emperilu, #28.) and Emperial (#15).


Lia (Empelia) Blake
Age: 23
Appearance: 5' 1.5", 100 lbs. Wavy, full shoulder length brown hair, blue eyes, and a ready smile. Wears glasses or contacts.
Special Skills: Ex-Creationary Deity, Lia has limited control over the creation of dimensions. As a praetorix, she specializes in the computation of probabilities and interference in personal fate. One of the Emperials (#112).
Neighbor and well-intentioned busybody, Lia and her husband Jeremy are frequent guests at Emira's table. Even among the Emperials, Lia and Emira are seen as two peas in a pod, chattering and shopping and laughing together. People often mistakenly believe Emira and Lia to be twin sisters. The pair allows this misconception to hide the truth from their Earthly neighbors. Third refers to Lia as "Aunt Lia," and she treats him just like a nephew. (By extension, she treats Constant and Aelinye as nieces.)


Empelilu Teal Atreides-Piett, a.k.a. Sunny
Age: 22
Appearance: 5' 1.5", 100 lbs., dark brown hair and blue eyes. Wears glasses.
Special Skills: Ex-Creationary Deity, Empelilu has limited control over the creation of dimensions. As a praetorix, she specializes in the computation of probabilities and interference in personal fate. One of the Emperials (#130).
Third's former parental guardian, Sunny is flighty and irresponsible and prone to causing fairly big disasters despite her predictive abilities. Though she loves Third just as much as any other Em, they were never a terribly good fit, and eventually Sunny realized that according to the probabilities, Third and especially Aelinye would be better off living with someone else. Sunny is currently MIA; Third has actually grown a bit concerned about her situation.


James Taylor
Age: 30
Appearance: 6' 1", sandy brown hair and medium brown eyes.
Special Skills: Plays the accordion. Excellent baker, especially breads.
Grey's husband, a sweet man with a soft spot for stray animals and a penchant for baking. Honest, moral, and noble, James' 19th century origins sometimes leave him at odds with modern technology, especially toasters. He's constantly dropping by with fresh loaves of bread for his "favorite neighbors."

James is a relative of former U. S. President Zachary Taylor, among other historically notable figures. His exact history and past are subjects he prefers not to discuss.


Jeremy Blake
Age: 39
Appearance: 6' 0", short dark brown hair and hazel eyes.
Special Skills: Forensic scientist, Bachelor's degree in chemistry.
Fancying himself a modern Sherlock Holmes, Jeremy Blake can be a bit of an arrogant a** on a good day. His sense of humor is positively vitriolic. He is Third and Aelinye's neighbor, living only three houses away, and by some miracle Third actually gets along just fine with Jeremy. Unfortunately, pretty much no one else does. Jeremy is head of a forensics lab and his coworkers call him "Lowdown" from his overly-frequent use of the phrase, "Give me the lowdown on this case."


Sally Veers
Age: 34
Appearance: Long light brown hair, brown eyes. 1/4 Chinese.
Special Skills: Trained as a medic, then expanded her training into a degree in pediatrics.
Third's pediatrician and former neighbor. Sally is one of the cornerstones of the Imperium, having been an important member since its inception fifteen years ago. Since her marriage to Max Veers and the birth of their daughter Zenobia Madeline, she has also become the legendary ultimate MILF (to her chagrin). Sally lives in the Neighborhood in one of the Sunset Houses. She is Third's role model for parenting, and when he needed advice on raising Aelinye, she was the person he asked.


Minnarkentanit Trant
Age: ~320
Appearance: Grey skin covered in black tattoos, yellow eyes, mottled grey hair. Dresses in white, black, and grey.
Special Skills: Almost impervious to pain.
Trant is another of Third's neighbors, he lives across the street and one house down. Trant is a Calym, an alien from the planet Calymur, whose species is renowned for their high pain tolerance and private natures. Trant was exiled from Calym for attempting a military takeover, which goes against Calym beliefs. He has roamed the universe and served as a commander in several armies and navies, of both the space and planetary type. He is a brilliant strategist. He is "mated" to the Lady Admiral. Trant has a strong interest in the cultures, physiology, and habits of other species, and is known for asking very pointed questions that have a tendency to make others uncomfortable. Trant is also known for his perpetual faint humor and seeming benevolence. Nothing seems to sway him. he is always faintly amused by the world around him, even under the worst circumstances. Trant does not believe in any high and lofty principles, only in reality as what is appears to be. He does not believe in gods or afterlifes, which is odd given the company he keeps. Trant has traveled across dimensions extensively. He knows a bit about nearly everything there is to know.


Shizue
Age: ~6
Appearance: Grey skin, three red eyes, white hair. Dresses mostly in red.
Special Skills: Can communicate with ghosts.
Third's other "little sister," though she is technically older than Third. Shizue lives with her adoptive father Doug and Third does not see her very often. She has a special bond with ghosts and can see and communicate with them. She is not very affectionate and rather shy.


Wilbur Page
Age: 54
Appearance: 5, 11", short wispy pale blond hair, blue eyes. Uses a cane.
Special Skills: Can control the flow of time. Possesses knowledge of his entire personal timeline.
A temporal comptroller, in many ways Wilbur is the closest thing Third and Aelinye have to a grandfather. He's an incredibly patient man, so much so others sometimes find him frustrating. To him, the past, present, and future are all the same. He lives in North Carolina with his second wife Amelia and has four children, two grown children from his first marriage and two in elementary school from his marriage to Amelia. He's tolerant, kind, and gentle, a Pacifist by nature.


Pavel Pavlovich Antipov
Age: ~36
Appearance: 5' 9", icy blue eyes, short dark brown hair. Wears silver wireframe glasses with round lenses.
Special Skills: Speaks fluent Russian, English, and French, and German and Italian at conversational level.
Pavel is Em's brother. Every single instance of Em. No matter what she looks like or is called, he's her brother. This makes him Third, Contsant, and Aelinye's uncle. He's also one of Third's dearest friends. He introduced Third to hockey, gave Third and Constant and Aelinye nicknames, and couldn't be more supportive and loving of them all, considering them to be his precious family.


Trion Bartholomew
Age: 29
Appearance: 5' 9", brown hair and eyes, athletic build.
Special Skills: Ex-Creationary Deity, Trion has limited control over the creation of dimensions. De facto leader of the Praetorians. A trained mercenary and master of several forms of combat and martial arts.
Though he introduces himself as Em's brother, Trion and Em are in fact different aspects of the same deity. This makes Trion's exact relationship to Third hard to define. Regardless, Trion has shown the same regard and affection for Third, Constant, and Aelinye that the various Ems do. He has also intervened to protect Third and Constant in the past. A generally serious person, Trion displays rigid discipline and precision in all aspects of his life. He lives with his partner Alin-Maya.


Rusak Petrovich Talietzin
Age: 37
Appearance: 5' 11", short dark brown hair, copper eyes.
Special Skills:
Ruthless, ferocious, cold-hearted Rusak is not a person most people would call a friend. Constant, however, is rather attached to the dark-hearted captain, as he took care of her when she was hurt and sick. Rusak is not kind or generous, but his family raised and trained dogs, and Constant is probably the only "person" for whom he has any respect. He's never directly affectionate to Constant, but they get along well.


Douglas MacArthur Hein
Age: 43
Appearance:
Special Skills:
Emira's father, and Shizue's adoptive father. A gruff man with little tolerance for people besides Emira and Shizue, and that includes Third, Constant, and Aelinye.
Though he is technically Third's grandfather, he prefers to have nothing to do with Third, and chooses not to involve himself in Third's life as much as possible. He is Third and Aelinye's grandfather in name only.

Aelinye was found by Third on a random Fourth of July Gaia excursion to buy fireworks. Mostly buried in the dirt, Third rescued her Crystal from its shallow grave and placed it around his neck without any hint or suspicion of what was to come. Enthralled by the twisting thing, he was only enlightened as to its nature some days later while hiking near Barton Cliffs with his guardian, Emperial. Third was drawn to the Medium's cottage, where he and his daemon Constant sought the Medium's counsel and learned the nature of the necklace.

Upon learning there was a baby inside, Third set about securing everything he might need from his neighbor, Sally Veers, herself a mother of a young child. He was soon set up and determined to raise Aelinye under his own terms.
