So I figured why not start a thread for people who play instruments to come and talk about the songs they've written or the songs they can play.
I'd rather talk about the things I can play than the things I've written.
Because.
I'm shy like that.
I was inspired by the fact that I decided that I needed to know how to play Cancer about...4 minutes ago.
I pretty much have it down.
What can you guys play?
(no, cancer is not the only song I can play, but it's what inspired me.)
So yeah.

Playing, writing, singing,

I play the cello! Or, I did up untill last year when I graduated (I don't actually OWN a cello, hence the lack of playing ._.)
I've never written any of my own stuff though. I can play sheet music (perferably knowing the rythm of the song beforehand) but I have no inner ear for music whatsoever. It's sad ;_;

No, seriously, I have about zero musical aptitude. I have no ear for pitch or key or tune or anything. But I do so engoy listening to music so... *shrug*

That's why I'm better off an alto. My throat can easily get irritated when I sing high notes.

The only time I can hit a note is when it's fairly low (but not too low) and I'm singing really quietly. I think that counts as failing at singing.

I like singing.
I don't even really care if I"m good at it anymore.
I just do it.
That's the main thing.
If you like it, just do it, and you'll get better at it. No one is perfect right away.

I don't think of it as getitng down on myself because I'm not upset that I'm bad at music. I also happen to be terrible at sports. But I'm good at not making and sense whatsoever! biggrin
