First I want to say. Anyone who reposts with their opinons should be respectful.
I wanted to gather views on men hitting women. So I want to address first my views. I believe that a man shouldn't hit a woman...unless a woman hits him first. I believe a man who hits a woman is not only disrespectful but rude and weak. Why would a man have to show his power to force a woman to submit to him? But like I said if a woman hits a man first he does have a right to retailate. How could we expect him to stand there and take the abuse when she hit first? In that case the woman lost her right to pity.
What do ya'll think. I've had this topic on my mind lately. I want some opinions.

I agree with you.
However, there is a difference between hitting and beating. If a woman hits a man, that man should not go into fits of furry and the woman end up dead in the middle of the dessert.
If a woman hits a man once because he said something disrespectful to her, he shouldn't hit her back.
Also consider the difference between a 100 pound woman with no muscule in her arms and a body builder. He probably doesn't really know his own strength and one hit could land her in the hospital, which isn't fair at all. Her hit could've felt like a pinch to him and yet he sends her to the hospital.
And play hitting (say like flirt hitting) doesn't qualify for a hit back.

I agree. Though some women may be stronger than men neither man or woman has a right to hit eachother. We weren't ment to fight and kill and such. We were ment to live the way we choose. Sometimes men do use women as there impresser to all there male friends but still, a women smaller then a man is defenseless and hopeless. My dad's friend beat his wife so much he broke her legg and arm.

My point wasn't that you don't think your boyfriend wouldn't ever seriously hit you. And that last sentence wasn't my main point either.

I think that men shouldn't hit women either. But women need to learn when to bak off however, because I've seen a lot of females this day and age acting towards their men any type of way just because most of them have been brought up not to hit them.
Like if you were a man, you wouldn't want a woman all up in your face, nagging, and nagging, and poking you in the face, and yelling in your face, and telling you that they dare you to hit them. Like this girl in my British Literature class that did this to a boy and they ended up fighting. He was already pissed off, and she said something to make it worse, he asked her to go away because she didn't normally sit there anyway and she kept getting in his face. He asked her to move like three more times and she got more and more in his face. He could have moved himself alos, I'm not excusing his fault in it, but then she started poking him in the face and a lot of guys I know HATE that because it seems to belittle them, so he hit her and the fight started.
If you were in that situation what would you do? There's no excuse for a man to hit a woman, but a lot of women can prevent it from hapening by just paying attention to respect, boundaries, and personal space. I know if I were that dude, I'd have her a** flat out. XD

I think that anyone, regardless of gender, shouldn't hit someone.
I could care less if 'she hit me first' or whatever. That is childish and immature to hit someone back just because they hit you first.

If I would have been that guy in your class I probably would have went off because she was acting like she WANTED him to do something..and that's crazy. But Xyloid I agree too using the "she hit me first" excuse is immature but it happens alot. Alot of guys use that as there excuse along with the "Well my dad hit my mom so it must be ok..." I don't understand that one either.

You know, It just ain't cool to hit woman. Or anybody or anyone for that manner. Sure boxers and arena kickboxers, they do it for a living. But outside of that!? Not cool.

I playfully slap some of my friends when they're being jerks, but it never hurts them... I don't think. I think it's wrong for either to hit. But if one hits, then the other has the right to extract the same amount of physical fury. Somewhat like if you kill someone by accident due to self defence and he/she attempted to kill you first. You don't get as much hard time in those situations when you have proof. 3nodding heart

You don't get as much hard time in those situations when you have proof. 3nodding heart Actually so long as you can prove that it was self-defense you don't get any hard time. It's only fair, you can't expect people to just let themselves be robbed, raped, and killed. Which usually if it is self-defense there are marks, bruises, and/or scarring that make it obvious. Just like if you shoot someone who broke into your house, so long as the gun is registered and you admit to it you get no time.
