The Dark Jedi Temple "Two there should be; no more, no less. One to embody power, the other to crave it." ~ Darth Bane The Dark Jedi Temple lies on the barren world of Korriban, a planet overwhelmed by the power of the Darkside and teeming with danger. It is a true test to the skill of the Dark Jedi. The Temple stands close to the infamous 'Valley of the Sith', the home of many former-Sith tombs. It is claimed that this is the only place a Dark Jedi can discover the secrets for fulfilling their maximum potential with the Darkside. The Temple itself has almost no protection, or even technology to aid in defence. Only the most basic of supplies are available, as well as out-dated droids for training. However, the Dark Jedi have complete faith that the Dark Aura will keep them concealed until they wish to make their presence known to the Galaxy. Picture 'liberated' from Basch-The-Great

The roar of a ship could be heard as a small cargo ship landed on the dusty planet. The vents from the ship push some of the dirt and dust into the air as the craft start to lower the ramp. The ramp hit the ground with a light thud, and a moment later a small figure began to walk downt he ramp. Kari walked slowly down the ramp, her left hand holding her right arm, and her right hand on her waist. Kari stopped at the end of the ramp, wondering if her journey had finaly come to an end or if this was only the begging. Part of her wanted to go back up the ramp but she knew she did not have the money to pay the pilot for a trip else where, thus she took a deep breath and took the alst step off the ramp.
The soft dust on top of hard rock was a different feeling for Kari, but she was unsure what to make of this planet. It had a eeire feeling to it, that she just couldn't shake. As Kari took another step she jumped as the ramp began to climb back into the ship, kari watched as her last chance to leave closed it's doors. As soon as the ramp was up the ship took off pushing more dust and dirt into the air. Kari coughed as the dust got into her mouth and eyes.
After she rumbed the dust out of her face she looked around looking for any sign of life, or where to go. In the distance she saw what looked like to be a building of omekinda, she thought. However it looked like it had been there forever, though it was unlikly anyone was there she felt it would be the best place to begin her search.
Though in the time since she had left her home planet she had learned to hide her fear to some small degree she was never able to keep herself from feeling it. The eerie feeling of the planet seems to flow through her like water and she had to give it everything she had just to make her feet more to begin the walk to the building like place. Through her travels she had heard from people that jedi use to life on this planet, but it didn't look like they did anyore. Kari began to think that this planet wasn't the best place for her to be, but since she had to where to go she just kept walking, walking into the unknown.

Calliope Vera was no botanist, no geologist, nor was she interested in such sciences, but she couldn't figure out how this plant got here. She'd been pacing the academy's surroundings for a solid two hours now, and had just recently been distracted by a spot of colour in her peripheral Force senses. It was an unnatural blot of life, and its presence was a simple mystery to her. She'd knelt, examined the plant, tried to place it in her memory, and had been disgusted when she'd failed. Nevertheless, this nuisance was something to learn from: it had been a long, long time since she'd seen anything growing on Korriban's rocky, desolate surface.
With a gentleness that would disgust Sith Lords of the past, she uprooted the plant and carried it back to the Academy, where she replanted it by a window. She had made the simple statement that any student who wishes to kill the plant may, at the forfeit of his or her life. There was much to learn from plants, she had explained, and weeds. This one's determination to live had brought it from wherever it was from to germinate on Korriban: no small feat.
Truly, she wondered exactly what caused the plant to live under the harsh evil of the planet. She could seek out a botanist, she decided, or a geologist, to solve her little mystery-- but no, that would ruin the lesson.
Calliope Vera was not a well-known face anywhere but the Sith World of Korriban. She was seen often, yes, but always after mind trick, only to be protected further by false names and guises. It was how she kept up with the galaxy while remaining hidden. Red eyes glanced ruefully back at the walls of the Academy: hidden. Her face darkened; it was not often the way of the Sith to be discreet, but more of an impact would be made if this dark enclave was unveiled as a powerhouse, not as the leafy, weak thing that it was.
Her students, she felt, were stupid. There were few, she knew, but even fewer actually had the potential to even dream of succeeding her. With the way some of them were training, she would live forever. She had pondered this for several days now, and now it was time to come to a decision. She shrugged her cloak away from her armor, draping it over har arm as she walked back towards the academy. Despite the planet's rocky surface, she walked with confidence, never looking down to check her feet.
The academy doors practically swung open before she reached them, and she never had to break stride. She walked through the Foyer, past the proving grounds, the library, to where that schutta of a plant was. She examined it one last time, touched its thorny leaves. She then straightened, tossed her cloack aside.
A mere, short time later, the number of academy residents was much smaller, but the overall feeling of the Force was much stronger. The bodies were removed by both droids and students, leaving the Chiss to her contemplations. She would have to begin recruiting again, but she would have to be much more selective than she and her predecessors had been in the past. The training, she decided, would be harder and more brutal, to weed out those who escaped her initial screening.
The Academy would bloom, she decided, it would simply take that much longer.

The hot had taken a small toll on Kari as she walked to the building she had seen when she landed. The pase of ther heart beat had increased since she began her walk. Party from the heat and partly the strange feeling that seemed to be coming from the building she was heading to. The closer she got the more she began to wonder if this was the right place to be going, it seemed to be a war that was being fought within herself. Part of her said it would be smart to leave, but she knew this might be her only chance; she had to find "Jedi" no matter what.
Kari bit her bottom lip, hard. The small pain help bring her back to the here and now and she began to walking again. The doors to the building seemed to be opened, as if wanting someone to come inside. Kari's mind raced and her heart rate began to rise as well. Kari had to remind herself, it didn't matter she had no where else to go; and no family to see. Kari felt the her heart beating quickly, but knew she wasn't going to learn anything outside. With one final push she forced herself to walk through the doors and into the this building.
The place was dark, and old. It seemed like it was a temple or maybe a small city to the people that use to live here. Kari jumped quickly as she could hear some unknown sounds coming from deeper within the temple. Again working up the stregth to begin again and starting walking deeper into the temple, unsure of what she will find.

The Dark Lady of the Sith had sensed Kari's presence in much the same manner she had sensed the flower: she was a flicker of life on a dead-to-the-eye planet, albeit a weak one. Vera straightened, black hair and black robe falling into place. There was the Force in this one, to be sure, but there had been the Force in sixty-four students and nineteen knights she'd slaughtered this very morning.
Nevertheless, as the people who would have made up her welcoming committee had been part of the eighty-three dead, she decided it would be her duty to judge this one. Thus, she strode forward.
Calliope always took her time moving from place to place in her academy. It would be a shame to do otherwise, what with the thousands of years of history etched on the walls, engraved in the pillars, and spilled on the floor. There mere feeling of the Force this place was enough to reaffirm her addiction to the Dark Side, and when she walked these halls every day, when this feeling was ingrained in her very life, she took the time to appreciate its intoxication. This place breathed power.
Nevertheless, she walked with a purpose. The soft noise made by her boots on the stone floor might've made an apprentice feel powerful, but the noise itself didn't register in Calliope's Force senses. She focused, instead, on that tiny candleflicker of a life that was Kari, and although she didn't know the girl's-- it had to be a girl--name, she was certain she would find it soon enough.
She found Kari in the eastern wing of the Academy, about to stumle her way out of the Grand Foyer. She was silent for a moment, watching the girl's wandering movements with a mixed sense of shared wonder and disgust.
"This architecture is thousands of years old," she said simply. Her voice carried in this room, making her sound both dangerous and inviting. Calliope was aware what a powerful presence she was, spurred on by her ever-successful manipulation of the Force.

Kari stood in the darkness, trying to control her fear. Doing her best to calm herself, her heart rate began to slow a bit and she took a deep breath; again to help calm herself. However her efforts were in vain when she jumped from the sound of someone speaking to her.
Her eye's had still not yet adjusted to the darkness and it was hard to see the figure of who had spoken to her. However the voice told a lot about them, even if she couldn't see them. It was a strong voice, one of confidence and strength, something Kari always wanted for herself.
As her eyes finally began to adjust she was able to see the women who had spoken to her. for a moment, and only a moment the sight of blue skin and red eyes was a shock to Kari; However this women seemed to give off a feeling a confidence and control that almost seemed to stream off her like water.
Kari looked around, though this building was old, it seemed to have stuck together for a long time if it has been here for thousands of years. "Th...."Kari stuttered for a moment, a little scared if her question would offend her. "Thousands of years?" She was finally able to say. "If you don't mind me a... asking." Kari stuttered again. "What is this place?"

Calliope smiled.
Fool.
She gestured around her, fluidly making sure Kari noted all of the room. As if on cue, the glowpanels lit brighter. "This is an academy; a place of learning." She moved forward, towards the girl. "I'm suprised you are so ignorant. All the galaxy knows the dangers of Korriban."
Indeed, she was suprised. The notion of any sentinent not knowing of Korriban-- its lore, its extensive history-- was ridiculous. Surely this girl was not so stupid as she was acting. Was she hiding something? A republic spy, perhaps?
Her advancement somehow managed to remain elegent, yet gain a sinister sense of foreboding. Quietly, almost gently, Calliope reached out with a tendril of the Force, snaking her way to Kari's brain. Had she felt like giving any indication, she would have assured her that the process shouldn't hurt-- she should simply feel some slight discomfort.
This was her favorite way of gaining information. It was like a game, learning to knock down mental walls, following emotions to different sources, being able to see, feel, how the brain ticked. Also, it never seemed to fail her. It was hard to subconsciously lie.

Kari lowered her head slighting, feeling that she had said something unwelcome to her. Though it was true she had been able to hear a conversation or two that other were having, and they did speak of korriban being an unsafe place; but she little more then that.
Kari felt a little bad for making herself out to seem so ignorant. This feel was begining to give her a slight head ache, but thats not a suprise. Kari thought for a moment that if this was an academy then maybe this was what she was looking.
Kari opened her mouth once or twice to speak but the works left her as soon as her mouth opened. "I... I'm sorry, I know little of Korriban, other then it isn't safe." Kari stopped for a moment but then felt maybe she should explain; that way this she would understand why kari was here and maybe point her in the right direction if this was not the right place. "If this is an... academy, does that mean "Jedi people" are trained here?"

Tobias jumped out of hyperspace. The craft he was flying was a rumbling piece of junk he'd fixed up back on Coruscant. Anyone else would've been surprised that the thing hadn't fallen apart while making the jump into hypersapce, but he knew tis ship inside and out and was confident in it's potential. He had of course, taken it apart with his bare hands and put it back together himself. In front of him lay a planet so barren, he wondered if the rumors he'd heard were true at all. He failed to see how anything could live on this planet. "This is it D4. Korriban." he said. The droid replied with a whistle and buzz. Tobias could tell that even his little friend doubted his information. But they might as well give it a look anyways, since they had come so far.
As Tobias entered the planet's atmosphere, a strange feeling overcame him. It was so strong that he began to get a headache. There was something here all right. He could feel it, just as he could feel his uncle's presence. But this was far more stronger than he could even imagine. He reopened his eyes and saw that the planet looked worse up close. But in the distance, he could see what he thought at first to be a mountain, but as he drew closer, he saw that it was actually a building made of stone. And he could feel the same thing he did before, pulling him closer, drawing him to it. He landed the ship a few yards from the structure and jumped out, dirt rising up as his black boots hit the ground with a THUD. He looked up at the building in a sort of awe. It was colossal. It''s size would have fit it on coruscant, surrounded by other large structures; but out here in the middle of no where, it took dominance across the plain, it's peaks almost disappearing into the dirty cloudy sky.
Looking back around him, he saw what was unmistakeably an entrance. He looked back up at D4 "Stay with the ship. I doubt anyone may be here. This shouldn't take long." and with that he turned back towards the entrance, and began to walk inside.

Calliope's smile was akin to that of a predator. "Not safe? My dear young lady, Korriban is a haven of power for ones such as yourself." She couldn't sense if the girl was running from anything, though a great deal of fear clouded her thoughts. That could be used to her own advantage, Vera decided. This girl was clay; moldeable.
"Dark Jedi are indeed trained here," she corrected. "I take the liberty of supposing you do not know the difference." It was a statement well-backed by what Calliope had felt in the girl's mind, and the conversation she'd just initated was the doorway to a much larger, darker world.
She would enjoy this one. She knew exactly which master to hand her off to.
Meanwhile, Dark Jedi Master (Marauder-class) Valentin had been patrolling the corridors for any stray bits of body his Dark Lady might have left behind. It wasn't that he didn't trust the Lady with her own cleaning duties as much as he needed an excuse to simply move. He was somewhat sore from the previous day's exercises he'd put himself through, and he wasn't planning to continue until the dry heat of Korriban subsided a bit.
He nearly walked into Tobias in the foyer. He grunted and flicked his wrist, sending the boy (he'd never seen him before) crashing into the wall with a honed Force-push. "I'd be more careful if I were you, boy," he drawled. His accent was unmistakeably Mid-rim, though in the shadows it was difficult to tell exactly what he was.

Her left hand rubbed the back of her right arm, in a weak attempt to keep herself focusd on this women. The eerie feeling from this planet and this place had still ot left, was this the power she was speaking of. It's true there may have been more here then what she could see, like something on the edge of feeling itself.
"Other Jedi?" Kari asked, the idea that there was more then one type of jedi wasn't something she knew about. All she knew, or thought she new was that jedi are strong; and she was weak. Kari worked hard to find her voice to speak again. "M...may I ask what the d...differences are?" Kari again finding it hard to speak without some kinda of pause.

Upon walking 4 steps into the structure, Tobias looked around in a sort of awe. Of course, as luck would have it, he wasn't paying attention when someone bumped into him. Tobias began to look over to say something, when all of a sudden, he was thrown against the wall with such force, he bumped his head against the wall making his eyesight go blurry.
"I'd be more careful if I were you, boy," the man said in a Mid-rim accent. Tobias looked up to see the silhouette of a man, though through his blurry eyesight and his dark surroundings, was unable to fully see him.
Tobias rubbed the back of his skull as he stood up. Who did this guy think he was? He squnited to clear his vision, "If i recall correctly, it was you who bumped into me." he replied with what was unmistakeably attitude.
