does anyone get lumped into a generic label at school?
when i went to high there was a generic label for anyone punk (old school & new school), emo, goth, skater, whatever. in one school we were all called anti-preps, and in the city i live in now, which is mostly gangsta, we're simply called rockers.

Not that it matters .. but no, at ny school the chavs fully recognise, Goth and Emo as seperate (*SHUDDERS*) ,,subculture".

Chav is a derogatory slang term in popular usage throughout the UK. It refers to a subculture stereotype of a person who is uneducated, uncultured and prone to antisocial or immoral behaviour. The label is typically, though not exclusively, applied to teenagers and young adults of white working-class or lower-middle class origin. Chav is used for both sexes, where a male chav is sometimes referred to as a chavster and a female as a chavette

trust me it's not an oOoOoOo type situation it's scary ... I mean britain isn't totally chav infested but the people that are chavs are proud of it - so that makes it ok to call them chavs- and they are very very very scary neutral

Hm, one day some-one called me 'Old-School Goth.' I was just like, 'wtf?! I'm far from that'. xD I wasn't dressing romantique and didn't have piercings or anything like that. I've always worn the traditional black, but that's really all. Maybe the make-up, too. Though; make-up doesn't really say TOO much unless really exaggerated.

OOOOHHH, 5 star, GERARD LOOKS SO CUUUTE IN YOUR SIGGY! <33 someone in the MCRmy guild made one of each member. i'm not sure how i originally got labeled emo. i've been cooled emo long before i even knew what it was. i don't fit any of the stereotypes. in fact back then i was far from emo. i wore bright colors and was happy-go-lucky. i think i just got labeled, cuz no one in this town understands emo. i was quiet and kept mostly to myself and listened to fob and sp.

I've been called punk before. Which is odd because I dont even listen to punk. I had to explain to them exactly what each sub culture is about, it was annoying. Then after I explained what they're all about I got called goth I was like "what... the... ********?"

people mistaken me for emo.... until i beat their little sorry a** down and then they call me punker goth... once i let this one guy see my binder. they saw a pic of afi and then he shoved the binder back and said get away from me you you goth.
