Okay, so, i was playing the game for the third or fourth time when i realised (during Cloud's dream of Areis telling him where she was going) that she had told him that she would be back after this was all over. And as we all know, Sephiroth has a habit of coming back to life a lot. So, my question is, do you think Aeris could come back if they killed Sephiroth for good? I know I'm probably getting my hopes up for nothing, but i just need your opinions. please respond?

Sadly, you probably are getting your hopes up.

She said shed be back because she didnt believe she would be killed.

And the reason Sephiroth was able to return several times is because of his genetic bond with the alien Jenova, which Aeris couldnt have had.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Aeris is meant to stay dead. If it were to be any different, you wouldnt have seen the continuation of her being dead in AC and DoC.

Sadly, Aerith is to remain dead. She is one of my favorite characters, don't get me wrong, but personally I think it does justice to the plot that she remains this way.

I'm a fan of "emo" endings, ... which is a little weird, I know. But it's nice to see games and what not to not have a Disney like ending, y'know?

im pretty sure shes gone for good. at the end of Advent Children she was telling Cloud to let go and move on, so wouldnt make much sense for her to tell him to let go if there was a chance she could ever come back.

Since she "visited" Cloud after her death, she technically did keep her promise. Who said that she had to be alive?

I agree with T i f a. Aeris technically did keep her promise. Though, it's debated on whether Aeris knew she would die or not.

I'm sorry to say that I have a habit of this, but it needs to be said. I have an arguement against the statement made by soadshuyin.

1. It was debated over many times, and there is no clear answer. But chances are that she knew good and well that she was going to die when she left.

2. Sephiroth never died at all until the end of the game. His physical form was trapped in a crystal of mako, caused when Cloud tossed him over the edge of the catwalk in the Nibelhiem Reactor. All of the Sephiroth's you have seen up to that point were all a mix of clones made from Jenova and those clone attempts by Hojo.

And sadly, no. Aeris does not come back in the English version. And for Vincent V Ex~, in the original Japanese version, you could bring her back to life, but only as a playable character. She had no further part in the storyline and had very few spoken words after that. All the items you win in the Gold Saucer and find elsewhere (1/35 Soldier, Tissue, Masamune, ect.) were all fragments left behind from the Japanese version when they took out those sidequests.

Its alright, I understand.

1) On the Aeris knowing or not knowing, it didnt really look like she knew she was going to die. She looked up at Cloud with a smile then had a sword punch through her. She didnt look as if she was planning on dying in that instant to me.

2) By various times I was speaking of the final final battle, after his destruction as Safer Sephy when he fought Cloud in his mind and during AC. I know he doesnt die after jumping in or being tossed in (depending on which version of the Reactor scene you prefer).
Also on that note, its Jenovas body(from the tank in Hojos lab in Shinra HQ) that we see walking the planet and dragging Cloud and all the others with Jenova cells in them along behind it.

As for you, prove it.

There has never been any official word from Square-Soft/Enix to approve of any plans to revive Aeris in any version of the game. May I remind you that if Aeris had not remained dead, there would be no FF7AC because everyone would have died? Not to mention that's a load of tripe, Aeris is one of the main reasons Cloud and Co. continue their battle against Sephiroth, and like I said, she helps stop meteor. The most you have is a single spoken line by Aeris at the Glacier, when you finish the snow-board game, which can only be seen if you have Aeris in your party from using a Gameshark.

The most that can be assumed is that Aeris was meant to die at the crater where Sephiroth was crystalised as opposed to at the city of the ancients, but even then it's debatable.
