September 17th Laurel's own tree was planted, the acorn of which no-one knows its origins. Mysterious! But her tree nevertheless.
July 10th Jamie took Kel up to the gallery for the first time, where in a flash of sunlight Laurel was born.

Name: Laurel Aliwran Current Age: Baby (looks approximately 6 months old) Gender: Female Sign: Cancer (the last thing she might be...) Description: Grass-green hair in thin, curly bunches, and a russet brown streak in it on the left. A small gree three-leaf cross marking under her left eye also; these eyes are pale green, and she has pointed ears, with olive tanned skin. Personality: Laurel is quiet and sweet-natured, cooing gently and wide-eyed at her surroundings. A total opposite to her mischievous brother Althalus... Painting: The book from which Laurel appeared resides in the Gallery; it shows a verdant flourishing tree in the midst of a sundrenched field.

Kelinor Aliissa Aliwran It's Kel-chan! A redhead from the mundane world brought to Gaia to study archaeology, she didn't realise it was a one-way trip :/ However, she's got on with her life, overcoming becoming a Lupus shapeshifter and studying post-grad at Barton University. And somehow becoming guardian to a multitude of children! To say nothing of Daniel...
Daniel von Aeriwald Daniel, or rather Dafriel is an old-country Lupus shapeshifter; the one who infected Kelinor that Hallowe'en. Since then, and especially Althalus' kidnap, he's kinda... moved in. Favourites: "Althalus and Jack, because they're adventurous. Heh. That's doesn't count Kel, right?"
Ralph Aliwran This Earth-type Raimin was Kel's first companion in Gaia, and a sort of unofficial housekeeper/benevolent uncle to the children. Favourites: "Auriga, and Laurel. She likes the trees more than I do..."
Alexandra Runegold Celeste The kitsune girl is actually a Guardian Angel of Kel-chan, despite being cared for since birth by her 'charge'. At the moment she loves playing the bossy teenage sister to them all. Favourites: "Auriga! My baby sister. And.. Ralph. Defintely not Daniel. Uh..."
Auriga Aliwran Auriga is an Astra, a little girl who fell from the eponymous constellation one night. She loves horses, and just as well, for her walking is difficult with only one leg.. Favourites: "Lexy and Laurel. And Althalus. And everyone, I guess. :3"
Althalus Kair Aliwran The Forgotten Document is now a precocious toddler; appearing from a book about a master thief, one can only hope that despite his mischieviousness it won't turn to the bad... he and his daemon Stealth are inseperable, and have a sunny dispostion most of the time. Favourites: "Dan'l & Laur' nice to me!"
Jack The tiniest member of the family, Jack is rarely seen outside Kel's pocket or Daniel's shoulder. At only four inches high, the Fenthry child has only just emerged from his feather, but he has a bright cheerful smile and loves exploring. Learning to talk is the next obstacle... Favourites: "chirp." (preferences to Daniel and Althalus)

Cole has fluffys! And is very friendly to Laurel. They exchanged gifts, so cute... Laurel met Ophelia on her very first day. She's fascinated by the kitten's tail, and her attempts at running... :3 Laurel has only met Luel briefly, along with his Auntie Kit, on the very first day the painting surrendered her. More to come soon... Laurel has never met Nailah. Laurel has only seen Celestyn briefly. Laurel has never met Kitrye. Laurel has only seen August and Alythia briefly. Laurel has never met Metanoia.

A beautifully wrapped present from Ilusen turned out to have a cute little plush inside. Awww.... ^____^

A feather from Cole's wings! She likes keeping it tucked in among the leaves in her hair. I don't know how it stays in when all the leaves seem to drop and then be replaced...
Christmas gifts from an unknown person! <333

  - Dryads are tree spirits in Greek mythology. Technically speaking, dryads are the nymphs of oak trees, but the term has come to be used for all tree nymphs in general. Drys in Greek signifies 'oak,' from an Indo-European root *derew(o)- 'tree' or 'wood.' Dryads were the nymphs of oak trees whence their name. The life of each was associated with that of her own tree wherein she lived. The most important Dryad was Eurydice who became the wife of Orpheus. Dryads, like all nymphs, were supernaturally long-lived and tied to their homes, but some were a step beyond most nymphs. These were the hamadryads who were said to form an integral part of their trees, such that if the tree died, the hamadryad associated with it died as well. For these reasons, dryads and the Greek gods punished any mortals who harmed trees without first propitiating the tree-nymphs. See also the myth of Daphne, who was pursued by Apollo and became a dryad associated with the laurel.
- The dryad is the spirit of the tree, its essential pattern. It is a living being linked to the tree and growing with it, but at the same time it is a trans-temporal and trans-spacial creature, living in the Astral dimension as much as in the mundane world. When a branch falls off a tree or is pruned, the dryad spirit is still in the wood. It is not really correct to speak of "parts" of a spirit, but one might consider the spirit of the wand to be part of the tree's consciousness. Some writers suggest that trees withdraw their life from a branch when they sense it is going to be cut and there is doubtless something to such observations. Nevertheless, in my experience, the spirit always remains in some degree and can be awoken by enchantment when the branch is crafted into a wand.
- Erysichthon needed wood to build a hall, so one day he entered a grove of oak trees. Now, this particular grove was sacred to the goddess Demeter, and was also a favorite location of those gentle nature spirits, the dryads. But these facts seemed lost on Erysichthon. He simply starting chopping down the largest, oldest tree standing. At first strike of his axe, the tree began to bleed. Undaunted, Erysichthon continued to cut through the bleeding bark. Then he heard a sound coming from the wounded tree. It was the voice of the hamadryad who lived in the oak. She begged Erysichthon to stop, telling the heartless man that not only was he killing her tree, he was also murdering her in the process. Erysichthon ignored her pleas. Eventually the helpless hamadryad died, along with her beloved oak tree.
- In Greek mythology, the dryads are female spirits of nature (nymphs), who preside over the groves and forests. Each one is born with a certain tree over which she watches. A dryad either lives in a tree, in which case she is called a hamadryad, or close to it. The lives of the dryads are connected with that of the trees; should the tree perish, then she dies with it. If this is caused by a mortal, the gods will punish him for that deed. The dryads themselves will also punish any thoughtless mortal who would somehow injure the trees.
