This is the place for new members to annouce themselves, and meet the members of the guild. You don't have to make your first post here, but if you're looking for someplace to get into things, this would be the place to start.

Wow, no one else introduced themselves? What a bunch of party poops.

Well, I'm Anise and I'm a liberty-minded individual. I like libertarians a great deal, and find I often agree with them about things. I wanted to find a good place to discuss ideas, share jokes and news, and maybe plant a few seeds of liberty....and I think this will be a great place.

I am 20, a cosmetologist, a liberty advocate, a free state project pledger (as is my boyfriend) and am working hard, planning my move to New Hampshire from the great green state of Oregon. I don't have much family, I'm an only child, and I will miss only the Redwood forest, the Oregon caves, and the sparkling rivers of Oregon. I look forward to discovering more of the world.

I enjoy creating art, writing, reading, the science channel, stand-up comedy, gardening, camping/hiking/photography, and of course...gaia.

I'm an open book, and I love to learn about other people. So y'know, if you wanna know something, ask.

Also, Anise Amberly is not my name...it's the name of the main character in a story I was writing when I made this account....but it's a nice name, so I'll take it.

Hey!
I'm SoundDoctrine, but you can feel free to just call me Sound.
I've only recently discovered Libertarianism, and I discovered via a government class assignment involving 3 different political quizzes. I'm still researching it, but I'm in love with all the things I've heard so far! I'm really excited about finding a political party that so closely matches my views, and this has encouraged me to be more involved in politics.

Other than my libertarian-views, I'm a Missouri Synod Lutheran Christian. I'm 16, female, and I live in MI. I am very interested in drawing, painting, print-making, and 2D Art in general, so much so that I plan on becoming either a Graphic Designer or an Illustrator in the future. I am also interested in playing the Guitar. I've been playing for about two years now, and I really like the instrument.

Feel free to add me as a friend or message me anytime you'd like someone to talk to! heart

To all the new members whose request I recently accepted, I just wanted to extend my apologies for not getting to you sooner. I am not very active on Gaia these days, and this guild is pretty much dead in the water. So, again, my apologies. Oh, and Welcome to the guild. biggrin

Hi, my name is Jeff, and I am a Libertarian. I almost live in Oregon (residing in Vancouver WA), and I too may move to New Hampshire someday. I grew up as a Republican in an age when they talked a good game but weren't in power to show their true stripes. Over time, I have drifted to the Libertarian middle, and the only R's I will vote for in real contests are closet L's (like Ron Paul).

I also belong to the Politicians of Gaia guild, and I persuaded the owner to add a Libertarian forum before I found this guild here. If I discover any L's there, I will send them this way.

I have waded into the frothy Extended Discussion forums. Besides trying to inject some Reason into running threads, I started a thread on Democracy myself.

One use I see for our guild here will be to rally support behind each other's libertarian posts and threads on more heavily subscribed forums, so feel free to let me know of any ED debates where you need backup (or just feel proud of something you've written). If it's okay with the captain, I will post a note with a link whenever I enter the fray on one of the public boards and think some of you would be interested.

You bring up a good point. Jeff. The Republicans used to talk a good game before they got themselves into power. Kinda makes you wonder if it will be the same for the LP should we ever get into power. I don't think it will, but since history tends to repeat itself, we should think about contingincy plans to keep ourselves on the right track.

I'm a fifteen year old male living on the east coast. I suppose I have been transexual all my life, but have only relised it within the last few years. I am relatively new to the whole libertarian ideology, but believe that people should be able to do what they wish in life, provided they leave each other to do what they will.

I am a 21-year old voter hailing from the Doomed State of Michigan. I'll post my political beliefs when they become relevant.

On a completely unrelated note: Ralph Nader was one of my Grandfather's friends from law school. My Grandfather was paralyzed from the waist down after an car accident. Nader's book "Unsafe at Any Speed" was dedicated to my Grandfather, who cheated the Specter of Death for 4 decades. He breathed his last in 2005.

I'm eighteen years old, a retired military brat, and probably a Libertarian, though I just recently found out about libertarianism as a specific political ideology. I have to say that my and my family's beliefs have been somewhat libertarian for years. (Our beliefs are very similar to what was called "liberalism" in England about sixty years ago, which is very, very different from what we Americans call "liberalism" now.) We're also Federalists (in the less often used sense of the word) Confederates (although we refrain from calling people dam' Yankees) and super-ultra-hyper-reformed-and-semi-high-church Anglicans.

I've just recently gotten involved in some discussions in the ED-P and am finding it enjoyable in some ways and incredibly frustrating it others. As a matter of fact, I found this guild through the profile of someone posting in a discussion there. Thanks for letting me join!

I first heard of libertarianism last June, so I'm kind of fresh and new to politics. I never gave a damn about politics before, but then I stumbled upon a couple of websites from the same guy: adventuresofcitizenx.com (his blog) and libertyradiounderground.com (info for newbies). I was hooked instantly. Realizing how badly you're getting f**ked and finding a political view that actually, ya know, MAKES SENSE at the same time will do that biggrin

I'm in NB, Canada (right above Maine). Canada has a Libertarian Party but it's kind of small, and NB doesn't have one so that's a piss-off. I'm in university taking biochem, so that limits the time I could use to do political stuff. I still learn more about politics and try to spread the message of liberty whenever I can though.

Looking forward to chatting with everyone!

Hello. My name's Jeff. I'm 26. I'm a firefighter in Arkansas, and I've been a Libertarian for a few years now. I appreciate being accepted to the guild. Basically, I believe in a smaller government with less power over it's people. I think most people don't realize how much harm our government, or any huge bureaucracy, is capable of. Still every year we give up more freedom and more money for the greater good. Now, we (the U.S.) are dependent upon imports and loans while we start wars all over the world.

So, that's me. Can't wait to chat with everyone.

Wow, do I stand in stark contrast!

My real name is Lidia Seebeck and I mention that because if any of you are into the Party deeply enough, you'll amost certainly meet up with my hubby or I somewhere. We've been called Party hyper-activists.

I've held various county officerships and I do legislative analysis for the LP of California (LPC). I have managed and helped on campaigns from state to federal level. My hubby was the Public Information Director (read: Media) during the whole Stanley mess (cringe) He also ran for school board one... I haven't and have decided my place is out of the spotlight.

Most excitingly, I am an offificial delegate from the state of Calfornia to the NATIONAL CONVENTION!! I am a bundle of excited nerves. BTW a favor If I might ask: in the ED-P there is a mildly stale thread called Help me Decide" could y'all at least poll-vote, and preferably post why? The poll got some slant from the Gravel DP contingent in the ED-P and I'd appreciate votes from people who at least have a clue who Jingozian or Phillies are (whether you support them or not) While I think I'm still leaning Ruwart the Gravel-anchers are convincing me to at least take a look at him.

Since a lot of you are new, if you want to know more about the campaign trail, about how to get more active, etc-- especially in this critically important electoral cycle-- please feel free to PM me!

IN LIBERTY!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use the name Kunshu online, but you can call me that or Shinokamen. It doesn't really matter to me.

I first discovered libertarianism about 2 years ago. However, my first introduction to the ideals of liberty was when I read Atlas Shrugged in eighth grade. Since that time, I have begun to question even the values of minarchy. I believe in freedom, with no compromise.

I enjoy reading (don't get to do that as often any more...), writing, playing guitar, and arguing. I will argue about almost anything; I love to play devil's advocate even if I don't agree with the position, just to see if the other person believes in their own position.

I am fairly adept at using computer applications (such as Office Suite, Adobe Dreamweaver, Soundbooth, and Photoshop); if you want me to try my hand at something, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

So, here I am! Hello to everyone!
