Why do people always label the Noble house of Slytherin as "evil" and "death eaters in waiting"?
I suppose the haters are sort of justified; I mean, look at Voldemort!
But Slytherin are actually just ambitious, sly and cunning. The sorting hat did not say "EVIL!"
Your opinion please?

I believe that us Slytherins are just misunderstood. Although some of us are happy to carry the title of "evil".

I don't get the Slytherin = evil thing either.
Everytime I wear my green and white scarf and tell someone I made it to imitate the Slytherin scarf, I always get something like, "Ew! Evil!"
According to a majority of the online quizzes that I take, I belong in Slytherin.
But I would never want to be a Death Eater.
The book focuses too much on Slytherins that became Death Eaters.
They need to focus more on Slytherins that didn't, like Phineas (*ignoring the face that he was the most unpopular Headmaster at Hogwarts*).Wanna see what a SnapexLily ship would look on Gaia?

Sure SOME Slytherins are evil. Does that mean all are? No way, I mean the majority of Slytherins are just misunderstood. I for one am proud to be called a Slytherin, but I am not evil!

All right, so some of them are evil, some are misunderstood. That, we have established. I don't really care either way so long as there is no torturing/killing of me. Or my friends. Maybe my family... kidding. Mostly.

SOME Slytherins are but not all. Some only became evil because of how people act towards them. I mean just because they are in Slytherin rest of the school hates them.

*shrugs* I don't mind being called evil. But I don't think that EVERYONE in the Slytherin house will become death eaters. Believe it or not, there are some really big softys in our house...

Slytherins are very misunderstood in my eyes because even though almost all of the Slytherins we know about are considered "Evil Death Eaters" there is way more too it than that Draco for example: his father is a death eater but his mother is very diffrent we find that out in the 6th book when she goes out of her way to disobey Voldamorts commands and seek help from Snape...he is very confusing in my eyes because look at his family you never know where he might end up...
Bellatrix is his Aunt and a huge deather eater (one of Voldamorts favorites), Sirius Black is also in the family too and he is in the Order there is alot of good and evil in the family so his road is unknown. We are made to think that Slytherins are evil because thats how most of them end up but you have to really look and see past the "Evil" and you might be suprised to find out they too had a hard life, even harder than Harrys life! other ppl are just hard headed when it comes to looking at things this way in the end there is no "Good and Evil" those are just names given to ppl because others judge so much you have to look at each character very close because if you throw one into the "evil" side and they turn out to be good then what would you do?. In the books nothing is as it seems and there is always twists so how about this for a twist...The evil are really good and the good are really evil? *Shugs* its something to think about right? People judge too quickly in my eyes..

I say they are both misunderstood and have a little bit of evil in them everyone does am I right. Whether it be jeolously or anger those are both emotions that could be considered dark. I think that people automatically claim that slytherin is evil just because of a few bad wizards but you have to think. What did those few bad wizards go through as young wizards before they became dark lords. They became the way they were because nobody understood them to help them at least that what I think.

slytherin are not a matter of good or evil
it is soley about power
sacrifice
and a very ambitious attitude
i believe the slytherin house is the most powerful house of all time
