If you know what comes next, you probably saw the hit movie 300. I saw it last weekend, in IMAX to boot, and thought it was incredible. Thoughts?

Anyway, I didn't see it. I was too busy seeing that other movie with a number in the title.

Anyway, I didn't see it. I was too busy seeing that other movie with a number in the title. I went with a floor of college guys and my girlfriend. After she left I was then free to talk with the guys about the amazing awesomeness that was the sex and violence. The conversation went like this. Person 1 - Hey, I think they only shot 30 minutes of film and then just slow mo'd it out to last 2 hours. Person 2- Hahaha... Yeah, Its so true. But you know what the best slow mo was? Person 1 - oh? what? Person 2 - When they do a close up of the jiggling boob, while Leonidas was getting it on!Person 1 - ahahahahaha. wait... did you just say, "getting it on"? *punches Person 2 in the stomach* That was for being retarded. But you are correct! That was amazing!

IlilotIblake The movie looks stupid neutral and gorey... I hate gorey stuff Its actually not gorey at all. Sure there are sprays of blood, and lots of bodies. But the blood is all CG (You can tell, bcause when it hits the sand it miraculously soaks in and vanishes. Yes... I pay attention to these things. I'm a graphics goof xd ) and there are no disgusting bodies. All in all, its one of the most tastefully done movies with such a massive body count. No stuffing your intestines back in on the beaches like one of my other favorite movies xp

Everything good said about it, I agree.
And on another note.
IT WAS INCREDIBLY AND VERY LOYAL TO MOST OF THE BOOK.
I could only count about 3 instances where it departed from the graphic novel.
And everybody arguing, listen, "there's no reason we can't be civil."

My sister is a film student, and as such, she likes to tell me what I can and can't watch.
According to her, 300 is a gimmicky piece of junk, with only 35 minutes of quality footage.
Incidentally, it seems my entire school happened to watch it over the past week. I feel left out, dudes.

Incidentally, it seems my entire school happened to watch it over the past week. I feel left out, dudes. she has what we in the industry call a "pretentious film student" attitude. I bet she suggests you watch edgy foreign independent films about lesbians coming to grip with their underlying masculinity while staying womanly. XD or about two gay cowboys who eat pudding (I swear to god I've seen it. Indie films get WEIRD) Anyways, the shots may be gimmicky, but you have about three reasons to go see it. A) Total guy movie. Like, the PERFECT guy movie. B) Its based on a graphic novel by Frank Miller. C) Nevermind the Directing (which was great, by the by) The ACTING alone makes it worth seeing. Stupendous job. I should know, I've taken film classes myself, AND I'm the bloody projectionist at a movie theater. Pretty sure that qualifies me nicely to make a critique about it. Am I right guys?
