I finally got Tsuiokuhen on DVD and must say it's really cool in its own rite. It has enough of a story and characters to actually stand as its own story without the rest of the manga/anime ever needing to be told. Just watch this guy fade off into the distance and wonder what happened to him. Of course, if you want to know, you read the manga.
The only thing I didn't like was how they turned Kenshin into this simpering emo kid in the Kekkai Mori and had him just get beaten on by the Yaminobu. I prefer the manga version where he's beating right back on them
and dismembering them.
twisted I also didn't like how they reduced Enishi from an active participant in the goings on to an onlooker only.
Both versions of Tomoe's death were so very sad and moving.
