Every once in a while I'll find a coconut on the beach. I'll plant it and water the sapling everyday but after a few days it always disappears. It's happened three times so far. Is there any special trick I'm missing to get non-native fruit trees to grow?

Are you planting it near the beach?

The last one I did was near the beach. The first was near the lake and the second was somewhere in between the beach and the lake.

It needs to be in the sand.

Coconuts must be planted TWO spaces away from the shore of the water. Meaning that there is ONE space in between the spot where you plant it and the water. Usually, this is directly on the line where the grass becomes sand.

OH ok! The last time I planted it in the sand but it must've been too far back still. Thanks!

Ok so I have another question (sorry! sweatdrop ) do any other trees need to be planted in a particular spot or can I just plant them anywhere? Olivia just sent me a peach but I don't want to waste it by putting it in a bad spot.

Don't put normal trees next to buildings. Anywhere else is fine, as long as they are a space apart.

Trees do not grow if they are directly beside anything else (I think that includes diagonals).
