(I herd u leik mudkips)
I'm making incense! I'm having a slight difficulty though.
I'm making combustible incense with Makko powder (the ground bark of the tabu no ki tree from Japan) as the combustable/binding agent... and that's fine... but I am having trouble getting the scent to really come out! Thus far I was trying a simple cone of cinnamon (very finely powdered in my very own mortar with my very own pestle)... but when I ignite the cone, the scent really doesn't seem to be coming out... it just smells like burning.
I've decided to add a little frankincense and some flower petals to the mixture, but I'm not sure how much it will help... I guess I'll be able to tell tomorrow evening...
So who else makes their own incense? Who here uses it? What tricks do you use? Any advice for a n00b?
And more generally, the area of herbalism. I know someone in the guild who does some shamanic herbal work, which I'm interested in... but I'm also interested in the careful formulation and procedural style.
Any preferences? A favorite herb or spice? Fresh ground, or preground/bottled? Collect your own?

Funny thing is, I do my best to stay away from 4chan. I know what it is, and I knowmany gaians frequent all of 4chan, not just /b/. I just happen to think that "mudkipz" are funny... and all images I may or may not post, I got from encyclopedia dramatica... or potentially uncyclopedia.

Okay, because I am a mommy with limited time and a dwindling sense of humor - WTF is the deal with mudkips? And while I'm busy looking stupid, what is "FTW" an abbreviation of?
Thanks. sweatdrop You can make fun of me now.

Yvaine Okay, because I am a mommy with limited time and a dwindling sense of humor - WTF is the deal with mudkips? And while I'm busy looking stupid, what is "FTW" an abbreviation of? Thanks. sweatdrop You can make fun of me now. Mudkips come from lands best not spoken of round these parts. FTW is what I originally thought was "******** the what," But now I know it's "For the Win."
