http://www.sega.com/gamesite/sonicrings/There's the games site, and I personally can say I'm looking forward to this game. Umongst new things I found out were that Sonic can slow time, as in like bullet-time style, and the party games are similar to games in Sonic shuffle, but they look alot more fun. What do you think about this new Sonic-endeavor?

I think the Wii has too many party games as it is, and it's barely been a month :p
I was actually disappointed when I learned the gameplay wasn't going to be as Road Avenger as anticipated. I still believe an interactive cutscene like that would fit Sonic to a tee.
At the moment I have no opinion and reserve judgement until playing, as I own a Wii, I'll end up buying it sometime or other.

The Wii almost seems to me like a board game that you break out when friends come over, rather than religiously playing on yourself. I haven't got one yet, but when I do I imagine I'll use it for playing Sonic and as a surrogate Gamecube. However, when friends or family visit, I can then introduce them to the wonderful world of Wii Sports or Wario Ware or something smile
I'll get the Sonic game almost regardless - I'm trying to avoid spoilers or anything about the game play so it'll be a bit of a surpise.
It occurs to me I still haven't picked up Sonic Riders, but truth is I haven't had a lot of time for Sonic recently. Still, it's nice to have the console available, even if you don't use it for half a year smile

FEBRUARY 20?! THA-THA-THAT'S SO CLOSE! gonk
I wish eStarland would get a fresh new shipment of Nintendo Wiis so that my dad could order one for me as he promised already. xp
This is one I'll definitely be picking up. I've had interest in it ever since I first heard of it.
I'm thinking of finally picking up Sonic Riders, but lo and behold, I'm constantly broke. xp And I've been avoiding spoilers like crazy for Sonic 06 because, like I've said before, I hate the feeling of watching somebody else play it instead of playing it myself. xp

2nd of March over here. I'm suprised. I honestly expected to see Mario Galaxy first. The Nintendo Wii titles seem to be getting delayed more and more, and the 3rd party ones are rushing in to pick up the dry spell Ninty have left after Zelda.

Well as of late 3rd party companies more and more have been one of the great things about Nintendo. The 3rd party teams working with Nintendo get to work practically as if they are part of Nintendo, and so this allows more insight into making the games going on the Gamecube and Wii to be fun. So that way when Nintendo is still working on their upcoming games, they can let the 3rd party companies come in, and design a good bunch of gems like Sonic and the Secret Rings to keep gamers busy. I applaud Nintendo for treating 3rd party groups almost like family, and with things such as the upcoming Smash Bros. Brawl, Nintendo could be very well helping to usher in a new era, in which companies work together to make the most out of videogames. Often I dream of Nintendo and Sega joining forces, not one buying the other, but joining forces, to make a new epic system, and all kinds of great stuff.

Surely you're joking about the "3rd party like family" thing. Back in the SNES days they treated them so poorly that they all fled to Sony, and it's taken them 12 years to earn some trust back, hell most of the decent DS titles are with newcomers like Atlus or their old buddies Hudson.

I can definitely say I'm more interested in this game now than I was before. Of course...considering I saw hardly anything about it months back might explain that (and the fact that Sonic 360 was actually obtainable for me).
Though, even once it does come out, it'll be a bit of a wait. I'm still kinda wanting to wait for the new Smash Bros. before I pick up a Wii (otherwise I'd just be playing Melee, thus defeating the purpose of having a Wii then XP...at least for my Smash Bros. fix), and I lack the funds currently anyway.
At the very least, I'm liking the look of the levels thus far....Arabian, prehistoric...It's nice to see Sonic Team dipping into new themes. I still think ancient Japan would make a pretty sweet-lookin' setting.

Well if that were the case that is in the past, as nowadays they seem to form a tight partnership and bond with 3rd party developers.

I'm looking forward to this game if it's not like Sonic Shuffle(never have I met a CPU that knew what I was gonna do before I did it).
Based off the Arabian Knights legends, I'm liking it already.

I'm excited about this game. We need something to wash the taste of Sonic 2006 out of our mouths.
I've been looking over some first impressions of the game and the entire arabian nights premise is descent. However, it all boils down to how all these elements work when this game is finally released. If it tanks, Sonic Team will have to realize that the same ol', same ol' just isn't cutting it and give the series a total overhaul, or for the worst case scenario, drop Sonic all together. crying
If it's wintastic, Sonic Team will have to give some new life to the series to keep the quality up, by most likely dropping some new blood into the developmental team. So, all in all, I'm hoping this game is good, but I refuse to hold my breath over it and I honestly fear for the fate of this franchise.

Sega dropping Sonic is to Nintendo dropping Mario. he is their official mascot, and a cornerstone of their market. Sonic games are also top selling games umongst Sega products, in the past and to this day. You should know that. Getting rid of a mascot that is still making excellent sales is a synsical as McDonalds not selling burgers.
At the same time, Secret Rings isn't even definable as "same ol', same ol'". The Wii controller makes for completely new Sonic gameplay, unlike any previous Sonic game, Sonic is the only playable character in one player mode, which means speed will be the focus, and the world Sonic is in looks unlike previous Sonic worlds. The funny thing is, I haven't seen any robots yet....
Let us all keep in mind that the reason Sonic Shuffle was bad is not because of the mini-games, which were actually quite fun, but instead because the game boards were boring, and load times were long. The mini-games in Secret rings probably won't feature a game board, or slow loading.

AaronTheGreat The funny thing is, I haven't seen any robots yet.... Perhaps that's because Dr. Eggman isn't the main villain here?

Azura Bladewright AaronTheGreat The funny thing is, I haven't seen any robots yet.... Perhaps that's because Dr. Eggman isn't the main villain here? That didn't stop robots from appearing everywhere in other games, however, the main point was simply that the whole aspect of enemies and such is different, as to further my point this game probably won't be "same ol' same ol'" I found that thus far, for the mini games, among selectable characters besides the main four, Shadow, Cream, Silver, and Blaze will all also be playable for the mini-games, and there will also be unlockable characters. Even more exciting, there are about 255 bonus unlockables such as history of Sonic videos and interviews. *drool*
