VENTING:
I HATE QUITTERS!!! One of our marimba player's quit today. It pisses me off sooo much because we were making so much prgress and we just placed second at our last contest. Last week our top bass player quit, and we just thought we'd solved our problem and out of the blue, someone else quits...i hate the excuse "It's not fun anymore" becuase it's not OUR fault you didnt realize how much work went into it and we should have to suffer... GOD... i'm soo flipping mad

Yeah quitters suck... next year... half of the pit is quitting, as in the good half. And our pit was really good... got high percussion two years ago and now it will suck, and the new people will not take care of the instruments. I think I might have to cry to see a marimba in pieces.
... btw, i was joking about the crying part, I would just be alittle upset.

Our section leader almost quit, but it doesn't really matter, because he can barely read music, let alone sight read. My friend and I joined band this year (with no experience) and are reading better than him. The only reason he became section leader was because he was a senior. When we first started 2nd semester pitt/drumline we only had 2 people. Now we're finally up to 9.

I tried to do winterguard at my school this year, but I had so much other crap to do that I was forced to drop guard. It makes me feel sad. D:

I'm gonna be in pit next year. At least the majority of the band then would be good. No, really. The seniors are graduating, so there's gonna be a ton more spots in the marching band. (Lucky us...I guess.)

I don't think it's their fault, because you shouldn't be dependent on them all to be great. What if you guys never had them, how would you cope? When was band supposed to be a restraint? XD

Our top band's percussion cant do paradiddles either. I already know half of our band is quitting next year because band isn't "fun" anymore. Pshh.

Quitters aren't fun. But if they do it for a good reason it's fine. I

On average every year our band loses 22 kids but gains 50-75.
Look at it this way. At least the quitters are gone and not part of your band. If band was easy, everyone would be in it. At least they tried, and it just wasnt their thing.

Well, on the upside it gives other people the message that percussion isn't easy stare

Our only other drummer in my grade might be quitting. And if he does, I probably won't get snare and I'll kill him.
