* Welcome to Red Star Ruby's journal ! In here you can learn about the little and big adventures (and, hm, of the damage caused therein) of a little shadow and the unsuspecting cyborg who found herself bonded to said shadow. I ask that you please read the rules (listed in the last post of this page) before posting in this journal~ Hopefully this will wind up being an interesting read to you ! Also, please keep in mind that english is not my first language - mindless flaming of my spelling/grammar are NOT going to be appreciated, but constructive criticism sure will !

essentially» The world is screwed.____{ Personality } A playful, happy-go-lucky prankster who seems content to just go with the flow, and overall drive people nuts. He is very protective of his guardian and Dio in particular. He's much more likely to shield his guardian than to hide behind her, even as a child. Underneath it all he is very passionate about life itself, and is glad to be out and about again, and oddly friendly for a shadow creature. He doesn't really go out of his way to pick fight or expecially like to see people in pain, but he loves to play pranks - switch the labels on cans, switch cds with cases, replace the salt with sugar, take off with various items, or break something of little value. He gets pleasure in keeping people on their toes, as if keeping them aware of their surrounding just in case something would happen. He doesn't really get truly destructive unless he is somehow separated from Zero, or feels threatened/angry. When he does, it's not pretty. Unfortunately, his ire is easy to summon - attempt to hurt whoever he deemed fit to protect, and he's on your case. When he gets angry enough, he totally goes berserk and little can stop him in that state beside being knocked out or the object of his anger being removed from his sight.
He has some kind of a soft spot to things that seem weaker than he (weither or not they actually are is up for question) and seems to have an urge to protect them. After all, what use is strength if he keeps it locked to himself ? For this very reason, the little shadow holds no ill feeling to Dio for leeching his energy - in fact, it seems it kicked his protective instinct right in and made them closer than they would ever be otherwise. He's extremely sure of himself, in despite his mind being mostly a blank state - near the point that people would call him slightly cocky. He will never second doubt his instincts, but he will second-doubt his thoughts if given enough evidence that he might be wrong.
His softer side he only shows to a few people - Red can be totally sweet at times, to a point that people would probably not believe it if they where told. He tends to prefer to come off as closely guarded and detached since, in his mind, it makes him look stronger.____{ Physical Attributes } Update me plz.

 ____{ N a m e } Zero's name is actually not her real name at all. At least not the one her creator had given her after she was finally whole. That name, Siren, she has abandoned as she left her world and past behind. The reason why she decided on Zero is unknown to others at least - perhaps because she felt she had nothing else, or, if one takes her middle name into account, no more dreams to drive her. This is not the case anymore, but she seems to refuse to change her name again. Her family name is Hazuki, which she's taken from her "father".____{ Basic Information } date of birth» June 24. The year is an hazzy subject because of the differences in between her home world and Gaia.
age» Physically, she looks somewhere in her early 20's. If you go by the time she's spent active, around 8 years or so. 4 of those years where on Gaia.
race» Cyborg - originally a sentient robot.

skintone» Pale peach
eye color» Cyan blue, that gives off a slight mechanical glow - it's almost impossible to see beside in darkness. Her right eye is scarred, and if one looks close enough, they can see that it actually is glass that melted with contact of a heat source. This makes her right eye more cloudy, and she is blind from it.

likes» Taking care of people, daydreaming, the night, stars, computers, technology, cold pizza

Abilities» She has a better night-vision than your average human, and carries quite a whole lot of power in her legs. She's also very agile and fast, but not to the point where one would consider it a power - but surely to a point of being impressive.

essentially» That overly blue girl____{ Personality } Zero is one that tries to keep all her emotional scars hidden from the rest of the world, while accepting to bear others' at the same time. A truly dependable person, and while her wall of rampant sarcasm might put people off at first, once you get past that, once you've got her, you've got her for life. She has the very bad habit of thinking herself as invincible, which earned herself more than her share of trouble, but she never seems to learn. Her background as a fighter is easy to see, even at a glance, and one can only wonder just -what- she had to fight in the past... and what scarred her so badly. If anything threatening comes by, she will be the first to go out, fangs barred and with a rather impressive arsenal of "toys". You simply do not ******** she considers a friend or family, or she WILL make you live to regret it.
In despise it all, she's genuinely a good person, even if she doesn't always knows how to show it, or how to deal with various situations that life throws at her. Her new life as a mother and friend, instead of a tool, improved her socials skills quite a bit, and she seems much more human than she was before coming to Gaia. She considers it the best thing she's ever done for herself and does not seek to go back to her home world... and probably never will unless the situation calls for it. When around friends or family, she's happy, mostly laid back, and has a tendency to let her guard down slightly - something she would never have dreamed about before. Let us also not forget that she would probably beat a mule in the hard-headed department. She also has a mild tendency to cuss, and a wild love for various weapons and things that go boom.____{ Physical Attributes } Zero is pretty much average in all ways beside maybe coloration (but this being gaia, this is widely debatable - after all, no one's ever asked her if her blue hairs where dye or not !). She's 5'5", and never gives out her weight to anyone. Ever. (In fact, she'll tell you that it's non-accurate at best, since most of that's metal), her built now more womanly that it ever was - and she's got no qualm into showing that off, often wearing only bikini tops should the weather permits, or midrift shirts. She, however, always wear long pants, and given that her feet are black and blue leftover armor, one could guess that she's probably hiding something under those things. She's got two tattoos - a tribal sun around her bellybutton being the most recent - and one 0 on her upper right arm that's the oldest one. Her hairs reach to the small of her back, and she rarely does anything other than comb them into something resembling tameness - through it never seems to remain so very long. Zero actually has no external ears, and the circuits that allow her to hear are covered in round metal plates (think the go-phones, but without the thing linking the two parts together)
Currently, Zero seems fond of dying part of her hair black, leaving only the bangs blue, and had it cut short and often spike it somewhat. She was recently victim of an attack toward her life, as most of the fa'e guardians had, but survived. Her neck, however, looks like someone tried to garrote her with razorwire - scars from the incident remain, and it does not look like they will fade.____{ Some Backstory } Like many people, Zero was not actually born in Gaia. She was born in Xirian - a world where magic was replaced by technology and machines. However, she was the first of such machines that had the ability to think and feel on their own, true thought and feeling instead of emulation, created to replace the child her father, Takashi Hazuki, was never granted. In despise of her own existence being very critiqued, her brother, Wren, soon followed. Zero worked hard to prove herself a good person - and not a potential threat to humanity as many believed, or even an aberration of nature or a sin against god as many others did.
But, there are some battles one cannot win. No matter what she did, she was always judged and critiqued - more harshly that any human being would have been. Her every mistakes seemingly where magnified, but people mostly tolerating her. She was a tool, to be used - an handy tool that kept the humans, those of worth, out of harms' way. And who cared if she died ? They could remake her as a mindless shell... What she should have been in the first place.
Takashi never stopped to believe in his daughter and his son, and always supported them in their day-to-day struggle. His opinion on the subject was clear - if anyone, anything, tried to take them away for him, he would use his precious data of their personality, life experiences, and thoughts, and remake them as is. It became evident that the only way to solve this problem was that he needed to be eliminated. And this is what happened - one night, he was murdered, when both Zero and Wren where away. Zero had a breakdown when she walked in to a floor full of blood - the only person that had really believed at her was gone. She couldn't even find the strength to bury him, and instead left - for the first time in her life, she fled. She got her scar in between her father's murder and her finding a way to leave - a moment she basically never talks about and tries to do her best to forget.
And then she found herself in a new world, called Gaia... and slowly, she picked up the pieces of her mind and was finally allowed to be what she always had the potential to be.

-banner NPC- Anthony Dioran : Owner of a delivery service that hired Zero prior to her dissapairance. Somewhere in his upper 40's, he's laid back, friendly, and as Zero would tell you, hotter than all hell in spite of his age. Etrilyen Dy'Teren : An elven blacksmith that has more-or-less taken Red under his wing, teaching him all he needs to know about the craft.

The basement serves as a playroom where there is a huge television, a few old game systems hooked up, and many assorted toys and games, as well as a table and art supplies. Zero has moved her own room to the smaller room next to the playroom now that all of the children are old enough to remain relatively unsupervised in their own room. The third, final room is a bathroom accessible from both the play room and Zero's bedroom.
The first story has the kitchen, the dinning room, a small living room and a bathroom with bath and shower. The walls are painted in bright colors and often sport designs and painting created by the children with more artistic inclinaisons.
The second story house all the bedrooms - Sei's, Aylen's, Ronen's and Uno's. They are all pretty large and painted/furnished according to the tastes of the person living in it. The final room is yet another bathroom, and the stairs at the end of the hallway leads to the attic.
The attic used to be just that - an attic - until it was converted into Alden's room. Even as rooms on the other story may free up, Alden will refuse to move down. He will not actually stay in his room until he is a bit older, and instead either sleeps in Sei's or Zero's for now. It is, however, furnished and ready for when he will be old enough to sleep alone.

Ruby is the red variety of corundum, the second hardest natural mineral known to mankind. The red color in ruby is caused by trace amounts of the element chromium. The best shade of red for ruby is often given the name "pigeon blood red", but ruby can be any shade of red up to almost pink.
Oriented rutile crystal inclusions cause a six-rayed-star light effect (called asterism) to form the popular Star Ruby.
Rubies come from all over the world but good gemstones are found at Thailand, India, Madagascar, Zimbabwe, North Carolina in the U.S., Afghanistan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Tanzania, Kampuchea, and perhaps most notably, Burma.
Rubies have a famous place in science - the first lasers were made from artificial ruby crystals. They still are used for this purpose although other materials offer improved efficiency. Some ruby crystals show the fluorescence (actually very short term phosphorescence) that makes a laser possible.
