I dont know if a lot of our members here watch GX as well but I do. I like it in a way but it isnt even half as good as the first Yugioh. The duels in GX are kind of boring to me. I'm not a big fan of the elemental heros. My favorite eps of Gx were the ones with the copy cat duelist where he pretended to be Yugi and the one with Kaiba Man because those duels were cool.
Jaden is ok but to me he seems kinda fake, like he has no real personality. He is always in like the same mood and is oblivious to a lot of things.
Jaden is always preaching about having fun in a duel which to me is just annoying because in Yugioh the duels were suppose to be dangerous, not fun.
The villans in GX are just weird.
Zane is my favorite character on GX because I think that he is the only one I like to watch duel.
So what do you think about GX?

I agree with Atems Queen. You need to back up your statement. After all, this subforum is named "Debate", which in turn, requires debate. As for me, I wouldn't possibly bring myself to say the GX is better or even comes close to the original series. Its like you said Atems Queen: The duels are just not as interesting. There is something about GX and the school atmosphere that justs makes it dive bomb out of my interest. The original series had much more to it. There was always something at stake and the story involving such was always very in depth. GX doesn't come close to that. The closest they came to that would have been the Sacred Beast threat, which took them a little while to unravel. In the end, I say the original always beats the new.

Yeah and about the duels. I've noticed that they are pretty short. In the original, some duels would last 3 or 4 episodes. But in GX the duels last one or two at most.
I think Jaden makes the duels boring. Other duelists are fun to watch duel but he isnt because he doesnt get very emotional, he's always carefree. loses the excitement.

I agree 100% with you about the duels. They are to simple and pretty much laid out. Plus, you figure Jaden is always gonna bring out the same arsenal of monsters. I summon E-Hero whatever *sparkle sparkle*. And he usually wins the duel with a card pretaining to an E-Hero. No excitement. YuGiOh duels are always fun cause Yugi and Kaiba always have new monsters.

I like gx but not as much as the original and yeah the whole winning everytime with the same monster thing is lame but in one episode Jaden did win with the winged dragon of ra, and I think the hero of the series shouldn't be jaden he reminds me of joey as the sidekick not the hero it should be Cyrus he has more emotion in duels and he goes through alot more and at least he brings out newer monsters more than jaden and he reminds me of yugi. the names should have been Jaden truesdale and Cyrus Yuki

I've only seen a few episodes of GX and I hate it. I agree with y'all when you say the duels aren't interesting and that Jaden takes the fun out of everything. And he always uses those same freakin' Elemental Hero's! I mena, come one! At least in the original, Yugi wasn't summoning his Dark Magician in every duel or Kaiba with his Blue Eyes.
Plus, to me, GX has no real story line. Oh sure, with the Sacred Beasts and other stuff, that was sorta a story line, but in the original there was something going on throughout each season, like finding out more on Atemu. I think that was a run-on sentence, but anyway. I don't know, I think that GX is a run away train waiting to crash.

Why I don't like GX... Kick back this could take a while.
First of all it's made for children, seriously, Jaden is nothing more then Yugi sub par version of skill with Jounouchi's personality.
Every single character is a variation of a YGO character and not for the better.
Jaden: Yugi's skill Jounouchi's personality
Shun: Yugi pre Puzzle
Kaiser: Kaiba's personality minus devotion to sibling.
Asuka: Mai's skill and confidence, Anzu's tomboy personality.
All the seasons have no depth because the lead has no real awareness to how serious the situation is. He blows through everything with a devil may care attitude even when his friends get hurt! He doesn't even care if he loses so long as he has fun even if that puts his friends lives in danger which annoys me to no end. This current season that just started is the first time I saw an opening credit where he wasn't with a slap happy big doofus grin on his face and actually liked slightly pensive/worried. The SuperDeformed moments are also distracting and Jaden's whole ambliviant personality turns the series off for me. I only watch certain eps when I feel like it and that's it.

I say the original Yugioh Series are better because whenever it seems jaden is about to lose he always uses some new Elemental hero fusion and ends up winning.

i like both of them. and i like the elemental heros but... i still think the origanal is better. i mean it has joey in it u can't get better than that. lol.

i like GX and Jadens personality. And yes it does seem weird that he enjoys every duel even if it is a shadow game. but he is one that lives to find the hardest duelest in the world, and though i to find e heros annoying his deck flows well.
As for his airheaded ways i think we would all be that way if we slept in class and never did homework.....oh and jaden and alexis forever heart

I think Jaden makes GX a little to boring. He's an airhead who is always goin' on and on about having fun in duels stare He always seems to win wit his elemental heroes the same exact way in duels.
But it's still fun 2 watch! ^.^
((it's funny, they got a monkey named Wheeler in there. Reminded me of Joey))

I liked GX for a bit but then I got sick of it. I don't like most of the characters designs and personalities. The designs looked liked they took them from other characters and some of their personalities annoyed me. The episodes were okay but there was a lot of boring or in my opinion lame moments. I liked Chazz, Alexis' brother (I can't remember his name at the moment) and Zane. I don't really see the simlarities between Joey and Jaden except for the fact they kind of have egos. Even then I think Jaden has the bigger ego. Jaden just assumes he is the best duelest in the entire school and that he is the next king of game. Joey did have an ego but at least knew that Yugi was the best. I also don't like Alexis due to the fact that she seems a bit of a mary sue. I like the original a lot better.
