Security Question Scam
Quote: A new scam has popped up in which users give people "surveys". These surveys are a violation of the TOS as it does not allow collection of user's personal information. The big danger here is that they ask questions that users possibly used as their Security Questions for password recovery. Please report these types of PMs or threads to the moderators (purple). DO NOT FILL THEM OUT. Especially if you see some questions you used for Security Questions in there. Here is an example: http://tinypic.com/51263q

E-Mail Scam
Quote: FROM: Derek Lanzer Subject: Important Gaiaonline Notice
Hello [USERNAME]
We recently noticed you posting a message in the chatterbox where you asked for a gaian girlfriend. Please note that GaiaOnline is NOT a dating service. We have modified your past behaviour on our site, and found your general posting style to be different from this. We believe a hacker may of contacted your account. We believe that to stop this hacker from continueing to spam on your account, we will need to ban the account known as ShadowGoten. If you do not wish us to ban your account, please e-mail us back with the following information: Username Password (that you last knew it as, so we know wether you were hacked or not) The date you last signed in
We will need this information before the 30th July 2005, after that point we will freeze the account in question.
Thankyou for using GaiaOnline - Lanzer.
