there are so many reasons and arguements over which character is 'better', it could go any way. ^^;

Seeing how everyone in the video game world is familiar with the character Sonic (fan or not), I guess that makes him the better of the two.
Fighting-wise, tie. Although Silver would pwn them both.

Depends on the situation! You see, if the world was at stake, I see Sonic winning no doubt about it. If it wasn't, and was just for fun, I think it'd be a tie. 8D;;
I like Sonic the best though. *shot*

Well let's see...I like Sonic because I grew up with him from the Genesis years.
But also he never gives up when things look hopeless, he's a fearless leader who's never one to give in to evil, and he's always willing to help those in need.

I love Shadow muchly, but I still think Sonic is better.
Aside from the reasons [The_Stranger] stated, I quite admire his attitude. He has such a bright outlook, constantly grinning, and he hardly ever shows any trace of sadness (aside from the time he shed a tear when Shadow was thought to be dead). He's just plain...cool! Someone I can surely count on to be a hero! (All right, that did sound corny, but that's just how I feel xp )

If you are talking comic-wise, Solar Sonic is the most powerful of the characters. And game-wise, Hyper Sonic does hold an edge over Super Shadow. As for Silver. His ESP is indeed powerful to take down Sonic and Shadow; but because of him be naive and leaving himself open to an attack like in Sonic 06, that is the only way he would lose.

I don't think Sonic or Shadow really care which one of them is better, they just compete for the fun of it.

Sonic in the games is on Mobius. Mobius is exactly Earth almost, they explained it in the comics, but that plot sucked and many things got retconned.
Sonic is more powerful than Shadow because he's used the Super Emeralds to become Hyper Sonic.
Without any emeralds, Shadow is the most powerful being. His power surpasses Sonic's and Silver's.
Silver's ESP requires alot of concentration and what you propose Quillz is impossibly for him to do. He's not naive, he just has limited psychic abilties. His powers wouldn't be able to contain an enraged Shadow for long, the build up in power would cause to much strain on Silver's mind and powers.
