My current favorite is a little know anime called Last Exile!!! but I also like Naruto, FMA, S-Cry-ed, Trinity Blood, Gundam Wing, Mirage of Blaze, Gokusen, and Serial Experiments Lain.

My favorite anime in the world is Shoujo Kakumei Utena: even tough it's shoujo it has such a complex and dark plot hidden within it's actual plot, you would need to watch more than once to get everything out of it.
Then Serial Experiments: Lain follows, with it's brain shredding plot and hidden truths. One never know if what you see is real or if Lain is going insane. I have watched this series many time and even wrote a thesis about it, I really recommend this for any anime fan.
After that comes the classic Saint Seiya, which holds a special place in my heart from watching it when I was a little kid.

I have waaaay too much anime to name that I like. I tend to be fairly open when it comes to anime and since being a fan for the majority of my life doesn't help choosing favorites I guess I could go with my current ones as of now.
The manga (in which the anime gave no justice to) I adore to death right now is Please Save My Earth. The anime is given only 6 OVA-esque episodes (meaning that they're about an hour or so instead of the typical 20-something-minutes), and it had started out perfectly in the beginning. However, putting 28 volumes worth of manga into a 6 episode anime is just very hard to do and the final episode of the anime was extremely rushed.
Anyway, this manga is extremely complex in plot, characterization, etc. You're dealing with reincarnations of 7 people who once lived in a base on the moon before they died of disease and then reincarnated as humans on Earth. One of the reincarnations had survived nine years after everyone died off and so there is a nine year difference between him and the other 6 people he had lived with. Because he went insane after his love died, he's bent on revenge but for what is uncertain. That's just the basic, basic outline of the plot.
As for anime...well, currently I haven't had much time to watch any so I stick with the manga. However, I'm still a die-hard Rurouni Kenshin fan 3nodding .

My favorite anime at the moment is Elfen Lied. It's just... so... I don't know. It's like a combo of some of my favorite things in an anime. Lucy competely obliterated 23 people in the first, what, ten minutes? Not to mention all the fights that go on afterwards. Everyone has their own screwed up past to tell, and most of them have a death-grip on my heart strings. And it's really creative. So much stuff you'd never imagine. undertaker moon master My favorite anime in the world is Shoujo Kakumei Utena: even tough it's shoujo it has such a complex and dark plot hidden within it's actual plot, you would need to watch more than once to get everything out of it. I like Utena too. Although it's kind of strange, and a lot of times I kind of just stare at the screen and think to myself... "why... just... why?!" That's one of my favorite manga next to Pita Ten. I've only watched a few episodes of both, but I still prefer the manga to the anime.

I've been lacking in the anime department since I've been out of college, but I have to say out of the anime series that I actually finished watching.. sweatdrop
I liked:
Outlaw Star
.Hack//sign [finally got most of the dvds]
FLCL [even though its crazy as hell]
Hellsing [parts I don't completely understand because the anime left things out from the manga.. so I've been told]
Ghost in the shell season 1
I can't think of any other anime's I've completely watched, but I liked the few eps of Negima I saw.
Some movies I liked were:
anything from Miyazaki
Mermaid scar 1 & 2
Ghost in the shell 1 & 2
R.O.D -I need more!!!!
I can't really think of a lot more.
