Setting!!! (Woot. the setting -it sneaks in-)
Ok.. On the island, by/on the beach. It's about a half an hour before sunset.

Autumn - 0%.

Autumn sat around on the beach, staring out across the water. She had only just learned of her fate on this island, & that she would not be returning home.

"I can't believe I fell for it.. I'm such an idiot," she muttered to herself, looking at her hands. "I wonder what I'll grow.. Claws.. Fins.. Scales.. Antennas.."

With another sigh, Autumn sat around, letting the ocean water wash over her sandy toes. She wished she had at least brought her camera out to the beach; the setting sun was lovely, & it had been a little while before she had taken any sunset photos. It might've also helped get her mind off of her current predicament.. At least for a little while.

Autumn stared out across the water, listening to the waves & the seagulls.

Noah, 50%

The edges of Noah's makeshift cloak fluttered in the sea breeze. He honestly didn't want to be out here. He wanted to be back in his duplex, safe from any chance he'd have a run-in with any of the 'monsters' on the island...or hell, just people in general.

At first he though the changes that had beset his body had just been an adverse reaction to the injection he was given when he arrived on the island. But he had soon found out otherwise. He didn't want to believe what a few islanders had told him, that he was eventually going to become an animal. It didn't make sense. People didn't turn into animals.

But not a lot was making sense much anymore.

Those first changes had been subtle- lightening of his hair, his front teeth getting longer, patches of weird white hair cropping up, and a stub of a tail extending from his spine. Things he could hide. Things that didn't make him too inhuman.

He shaved the fur patches off (even though they tended to grow back in fairly fast). He hid the stub tail in his pants. He stopped smiling, pretended nothing was wrong with his hair and chewed his pointed nails down. Basically, he found ways to cope.

But the next change was harder to deal with. it hit him like a bus. It had been recent, yes recent, and left his body an aching, monsterous mess. The tail was longer now, probably about half the length it would eventually be, and was covered with a soft, downy fur. He gave up trying to hide it in his pants and instead sliced a hole in the back of his jeans for it to hang out if. Much more comfy than having it cramped in his jeans, and less of a chance he would kink it weird when he sat down.

His hair, which had only subtly lightened a stage before, was now a lot lighter, a lot closer to white. His elongated teeth had now broken the wires on his braces, so he removed them, leaving only the brackets still cemented on. His face was looking less and less human. there was more fur on his arms, shoulders, chest and legs. His feet were longer and looked more like a mouse or rats.

He was halfway to being a giant lab mouse.

But the change hadn't brought just physical changes...a part of him had broken in the last change. In an attempt to hide himself, hide his shame, he sliced up his bedsheets and stitched them into a pitful, makeshift cloak. He was wearing the hood up now- sometimes the light of the day hurt his eyes- his body swaddled by the cloth, the edges hanging just below his knees.

He managed to venture out, just to see the beach. He knew once he had fully turned, he'd never leave his room again. Screw that noise. Too many predators, too many staring faces.

He had been enjoying himself, walking barefoot along the edge of the surf, when he spotted someone sitting on the beach. He froze instinctively.

"Mein Gott..." he uttered.

It was a girl. A girl who didn't seem to have changed. How did he miss that? He cursed his eyesight and started to slowly back up, though he was awful close and it was likely he'd be noticed. Great. Just great. JUST what he needed.

((25% Red kneed Tarantula))

Georgia hugged her arms around her body, she needed to get out of her duplex badly, having spent almost all of today and yesterday hiding. Thankfully no body was at the canteen when she grabbed a quick bite to eat, but she couldn't bare to go back so soon. It was almost dark, maybe everyone went to bed already?

She pushed her long auban hair out of her eyes. The beach was where she wanted to go, she could smell the salty sea from the wind. Hesitation grabbed hold of her, what if there were someone there already? Georgia had only recently changed, after all those weeks convincing herself it wasn't going to happen, that they'd forgotten about her. Ha! Fat chance!

She stood considering, going over the changes in her mind reluntantly. The black hard skin that covered her elbows, feet and creeped from the edge from her hair line to her brow, the odd stiff, black bristle hairs that grew sparsely from the black skin which contrasted her pale pink human skin, and worse of all two spots or indents or something above her eyes, that looked like smaller eyes. Sometimes she thought she could see something from them, and that creeped her out big time. She had no idea what she was turning into and so far she was terrified of it.

A sudden urge to go back to her duplex overcame her, she shouldn't be in the open, she might be seen.

"No!" She hissed softly to herself, as much as she wanted to go and hide from everybody, she just didn't want to go and cry all night again. That got her nowhere and she didn't even feel better for it afterwards, she was lonely and depressed and of course the old saying goes, 'Misery loves company'. Of course it wasn't like she expected anyone on the beach anyway, it was a good excuse to just walk in the surf to clear the mind, better then being cooped up in a dark room alone. Something at the back of her mind wanted it that way, but Georgia's mind was set. She was going and that was that!

It wasn't until she actually came across two people on the beach that her built up confidence crumbled, but she had seen the white furry person and was morbidly curious in what he was turning into. She hesitated on the path that ended to the sand, arms folded to try and hide the ugly coloured skin, her shoes hid her black feet, so it was only the eyes and face.

No excuse came to her to explain away any of it.

So she just stood, trying to make up her mind or maybe just fighting an inner battle.

((50% Snowy owl)

Nick stirred from his sleep, not that he wanted to wake up just before the sunset, stupid animal instincts. His sleep had become so erratic since his last change, not entirely nocturnal, but not normal either. He’d been nestled amongst some of the foliage in the jungles underbrush near the beach. It was the best he could do for now, it’s not like he could satisfy his new instincts being unable to fly into the branches, or climb there with his arm-wings.

He flinched a bit as he emerged from the shade of the trees, he was getting unpleasantly unused the sunlight. Nick was still fully clothes, much to his own discomfort, ingrown feathers covered much of his torso. But his torso got of easy compared to the rest of him, his feet where disfigured, and clawed. His eyed had yellowed in colour, and his teeth and formed a psuedo beak, which was still contained within his lips. His arms where by far the most inconvenient, his fingers where partially absorbed into his arms leaving only a fully usable index finger and thumb, and his arms where cover coated huge feathers.

He spotted three people at the shoreline, his sight was not yet improved enough for him to be able to make them out from where he stood.

“I guess I should talk to them”

Nick had been so solitary lately, trying to cope with his new sleep pattern, even for him he was feeling lonely.

((25% Little Hairy Armadillo))

Ryan was swimming in the ocean. As strange as it was, the research he had read on Armadillos said that they were actually fairly good swimmers. He liked the water beforehand, he was just glad that he would still be able to swim after he changed all the way.

As he swam along the shore, he caught sight of some blurry blobs on the beach. Without his glasses and his changing eyes, which weren't that good to begin with, he could make out any details. They were vaguely people shaped, and there seemed to be several of them. He decided to see if he knew any of them, and see if any of them had interesting animals. He swam onto shore.

As he stepped onto shore, wearing only a bathing suit, the changes he had undergone became quite evident. His ears had grown slightly larger, and started to curl inward. His fingernails had lengthened to nearly half an inch, and were much thicker. The skin on his back had grown harder, with long hairs growing out. A small tail, with skin similar to his back, maybe two inches long, had grown from his spine. Despite all these changes, and being surrounded by several people he didn't know, he seemed...happy, almost enjoying himself.

"Hello!" He waved at no one in particular.

(50% N.Ammerican River Otter)

Colette sighed as she shook out her fur and then began to pad down the beach, her towel and bag down that way. She was now pratically covered in very short, waterproof dark brown fur and her tail had grown about two more feet so now it was about five feet in length. Also, her body had become much more stream lined. Colette sighed as she saw that the sun was setting and a small frown formed on her still some what human face and brushed some hair out of her face with one of her paw like hands. She yawned as she contiuned to walk down the sandy shore, her purple and black top along with her board shorts of the same colors making her stick out a bit.

People. There were more people. Noah's nose wriggled instictively as he picked up a few faints smells. His mouse-like ears swiveled underneath his hood and his body stiffened. Too many people.

The German had been rather shy to begin with, and turning into an animal of rey had only made it worse. plus, he got the feeling something was lurking nearby...a predator to his prey species? Oh no, he did not like the feeling he was getting.

His tail twitched back and forth and he considered trucking back to his duplex double-time...though running off would seem awful stupid. Plus, this was the beach, of course islanders were going to be here! And of course some would have changed. He glanced at the jovial looking fellow emrging from the surf. He seemed awful happy for someone who was chaning into an animal.

He looked around at the other people approaching and decided he'd stay. he needed to get out more. Maybe people would keep him sane. Ever since the jump to 50%, his sanity had been slipping away almost as fast as his humanity.

He finally plunked down where he had been walking along the waterline, waves coming up to lap as his feet. Disgusting. He hated them. He hated the way they were stupidly and awkwardly large, and how they were rather like very long hands. Unnatural.

He huffed unhappily, still keeping an ear out for anything that might be a threat, since his eyes weren't much help. What had once been decent eyesight was decreasing rapidly as he changed. What a bother.

Autumn looked around, only to notice that several people had also decided to come to the beach. She sighed, taking a look at who they all were.

One was clad in what appears to be a white cape, which made it hard to see who it was.. Or whether it was a person who had changed.

Another person arrived shortly after him. She couldn't see much of this other person from a distance, except she noticed that they had some black on them. Clothing or changes, she wondered, making her wonder about her own future.

Her gaze again shifted as someone stepped out from some bushes. Even from a distance, it wasn't too hard to tell that he wasn't entirely normal anymore, either. What he was, she wasn't sure. All she knew was that it was white, & looked like he had feathers. This led to her gazing at her own arms, wondering what they would look like a month from now.

A brown-colored person had also arrived. Autumn guessed that they also had some sort of change as well, suddenly making Autumn feel like an outcast. Boy did she hate that feeling, but she didn't quite feel ready to give up her humanity.

Suddenly a "Hello!" snapped her out of her thoughts & startled her. As this other stranger came up to the shore, she could see his ears weren't exactly human shaped anymore. Squinting towards him, she tried to see if there was any other noticeable changes. The fingernails seemed slightly longer, but she wasn't exactly close enough to tell.

Raising a hand, she gave a slight wave back to the stranger. So much for my solitude, she thought glumly to herself.

Nick continued to walk down towards the shoreline, still trying to get accustomed to his talon-feet. He twisted his head to side, surveying the area. Out of the unfamiliar faces one caught his eye, Colette.

He’d seen here and there since there last meeting, but he’d never really plucked up the courage to talk to her again. She was more otter than ever now, he supposed he wasn’t getting any prettier himself. He gulped as prepared to walk up to her.

“H-hi, Colette, long time no see...I-I guess you can guess what I’am now huh?...Er...n-nice tail” he said, trying to sound as pleasant as possible as he half smiled, revealing his odd beak-teeth.

Suddenly people were popping up from the woodworks, it was like this place was a magnet or something. Georgia hugged herself tighter, uneasy and the urge to go back was strong, but of course now that she was spotted it would seem rude, besides most of them - if not all - had changed so that made the 19 year old less uncomfortable.

Someone from the water had shouted a hello, she didn't look changed from where she was standing but the setting sun was getting into her eyes so she couldn't tell. So far nobody replied, all seem set to hide within their minds a little bit longer.

Although Georgia was shy, she still hated to leave anyone hanging, especially when they were trying to be friendly. The girl took a couple of nervous steps forward and raised a hand in greeting. A quick wave and a smile. "Hi." But her voice was too quiet to carry far, the person mightn't heard her.

She gave an edgy look around her to see if she reconigised anybody. No? Damn.

With the sun at his hardened back, Ryan could get a much better look at the people that had assembled on the beach. The girl sitting on the beach didn't appear to have changed yet, though she looked... familiar.

There was a white guy, white as in actually white. He looked like he had feathers, and maybe was growong a beak. He was still too far away to get a good look at, so Ryan wasn't sure what he was yet. He was speaking to someone who was just getting to where they were. Though the person was still a bit far for him to see with his eyesight, he could just make out the shape of the tail, it had to be an otter.

Some guy had covered himself in what looked like a sheet, so he couldn't get a good look at him, but there was a bulge where a tail obviously was, and there was movement underneath the sheet at the top. It's got to be his ears

His own ears swiveled forward as much as they could when the girl standing just up the beach spoke. He just barely caught her saying 'hi' over the sound of the waves.

Suddenly a small gust of wind came, sending a chill down his back. He realized his towel was a ways down the beach. "Anybody have a towel I can borrow?"

Autumn shook her head. "Nope, no towel, sorry." Autumn wasn't that big of a fan of swimming around at the beach. Not anymore, anyways. Living in Hawaii, she had gone too frequently & grew rather bored of it.

Suddenly, a light clicked on in her head. "Hey, I know you.. You were here the other day, when I learned what this place really was." She spoke with her voice raised, hoping she could hear him over the sudden breeze. Perhaps the others might have heard it as well, she wasn't sure. If they did, they would at least know that she was "in the know."

Autumn watched as the cloaked-man sat down on the sand. She had noticed odd movements underneath his "cape," therefore reassuring her that he, too, had changed at least once. Autumn wasn't too excited about changing more than once, gradually becoming more animalistic. It sounded painful, from what she had been told. The feet also helped confirm it. They seemed rather large.. And longer than regular feet. She didn't stop & stare though; she had a feeling there was even more stranger things to see.

The other girl didn't seem to do much. Autumn thought she heard her say something, but the breeze had carried her voice away, & Autumn didn't have any enhanced senses. Not yet, anyway.

When the man that had been swimming asked if anyone had a towel, Noah's ear twitched again, and he turned slowly to face him. He titled his head, almost inquisitively, or perhaps as though he were thinking. Then he gave a shake of his head. No towel, just his cloak. And there was no way he was taking that off. He had clothes under it- jeans and a t-shirt- but he also had the tell-tale signs of a tranformation under it. And he wanted to do everything he could to hide that.

He pawed at the sand with his hands- thankfully mice had fairly human-like hands. He was sure he'd go an extra shade of mad if he lost his manual dexterity along with everything else.

He looked at the bird-like man talking to the girl with the long brown tail. He didn't like the feeling the white bird-like man gave him. Not at all. it was a scary feeling, one that made his stomach hurt and his muscles tense as if he he were about to bolt off. Very unnerving. He didn't know why he was worried; didn't most birds eat worms anyways? he shurgged is off and went back to playing with the sand.

Everyone seemed to be having nice interactions and conversation. Except him. He was a naturally shy person, so approaching people to talk had never been easy before he had been an animal, and the self-conscious anxiety he felt after the changes wasn't helping at all.

He huffed again, playing with the wet sand- this time with his feet. Funny how they could beused to grab things and pick things up. They weren't nearly as dextrous as a primates (possuibly due to the longer shaped, he concluded), though they were still more adept at grabbing and gripping than they had been before.

Georgia came closer, she didn't really want to be left out of the conversation, even if none of it was directed at her. She shook her head at the question the man posed, now she could see the tell tale signs of him changing, what he was changing into was anyone's guess.

A bug crawling across the sand became interesting to the girluntil the other girl spoke. So the other girl did know about this place? Good at least none of them would have to have the awkward job of telling her about it and Georgia was sure she would've been nominated. She always ended up with the crappy jobs and she really didn't want people staring at her in shock and asking about the strange black skin and odd eyes above her own.

The man in the sheet caught her wondering attention, he was acting strange, did his change dislike sunlight? Or was he hiding his changes from them? Fingers brushed her own disfigurements on her elbows, it was smooth yet hard and she couldn't think of any animal that was like it. She had hairs at least, did that mean she was turning into a mammal?

"I'm Georgia." She offered to the group, shyness didn't mean she was anti-social afterall.
