Good Evening Gentlegaians.
Speaking in the official capacity as Vice Captain and De Facto Leader of the GIB during Agent Tim's extended leave, I am going to address the most recent press coverage featuring the Zurg.

The first order of business, is that I personally would like to congratulate Dagger Klinge and the other members of our allies in the Believers. It is a most prestigious honor to be recognized so highly by the gaian populace.

Next order is a concern of Public Relations. Given, in the past we have had very poor portrayal in the public's eyes, however Cindy was somewhat more honest in her approach this time. We ARE less trusting in our approach to the Zurg. We are by nature a neutral organization, and we do remain in the shadows. The story does carry with it, a slightly negative connotation, but we are not to be understood simply. We accepted that, however I think I speak for all of us when I say that we do not wish to be shown in the harmful light that the news has cast us in.

In order to right this, I implore you all to go and mingle with the Believers. Show everyone we are not the bad guys and that the Believers are our friends, because they ARE. They are more than our allies, they are our friends and we should treat them closely. What's more, I will please ask you to limit how badly you profain anybody else, NPC or not. I am very disappointed in how some of our agents acted in response to the update. Please remember that the eyes of gaia are on us, and our actions are very critical and that the reactions of a few may damage our very precarious balance.

Next to address is the content itself. The two militant Zurg have shown that they attacked their own brother in the past. It is unknown how all the other Zurg will respond to this particular news coming to light, however I very dearly wish that 7 were more active with us. It is an absolute tragedy what happened to 9 and I would like everyone to take a moment of silence for the loss of a friend to Gaia.

In closing, please remember that your actions reflect those of the GIB.

As long as none of the members become hostile toward any of our alien visitors and really destroys the name of the GIB, everything should be, ahem, peachy. We're just the anti-heros in this situation.

Korrigan, I understand your concerns. I will not deny that I feel as if we need to do something about what happened to Flarn, however we ARE limited to what we can do. If you will remember we have an armistice with ZN and that is what limits us. By all means, if you want to make a thread peacefully stating your opinion, go forth, let it be known that we denounce the attack that happened.
I will also go on to say that there has been plans in the works to create a small sig banner that commemorates the memory of Flarn and how terrible a tragedy his death is.
Also, to be honest, I expected someone to make a thread similar to what you were talking about with or without orders so, I suppose I assumed too much.

If this does not help clarify matters, then I do apologize, but as one of the leaders, I have to take the long view on things.

I understand th need to vent Korrigan. As far as I am concerned, s'all good as long as we are united in our goal.
