ACK--what is the U.S. coming too?!
I don't know all the facts--I had to get up at friggin' 7:00AM to get to my school classes on time and I had to miss the story--I just hope they put it up on some website so I can see it, but it seems that nothing is posted on it (of course).
I heard on ABC news that they were going to have a story about a woman being fired from Ruby Tuesday because she was too big.
If anyone can give me a website or tell me aboutthe story PLEASE post here or g-mail (gaia mail, teehee) to me please!!
Thanks,
~MM

...I'm at a loss. The one located near me is actually really nice and the restaurant itself can accomodate people of any size. I've also seen larger people working there, including my older brother.
I kind of have mixed feelings now. If that's really why she was fired then I'm reluctant to go and eat there again. That's ridiculous.

she deserves more than an apology. she deserves her ******** job back! but with a rude, heartless boss like the one she had, i don't think it's likely. that story pisses me off. i really hope NAAFA is all over this one. hm... one thing though. a civil suit would be a nice way to get back at her boss, but would the case hold up in court?

Probably not, bro. xp Like the article said, it's not illegal to fire someone based on weight.

It is quite illegal to not hire, and especially fire someone based on age, sex, race, religion, sexual orientation, and a slew of other things. Just not weight.

I have mixied feelings about this.
The people who fired her most likely own the busneiss so they have every right to fire her for any reason. But still firing someone for there weight is really jerky.
