I am a vegetarian, and find it very satisfying. I became one after seeing videos of wut they do to animals to get our food on myspace. It was very disturbing, but very inspiring to become a vegetarian. Here are some interesting things about being a vegetarian:

*Vegetarian foods are a major source of nutrition for most people in the world.

*Vegetarians have lower rates of heart disease and some forms of cancer than non-vegetarians.

*Vegetarians are at lower risk for developing:Heart disease,Colorectal, ovarian, and breast cancers,Diabetes,Obesity, and Hypertension (high blood pressure)...

And the most important reason why I became a vegetarian is when I heard that more than 7 billion animals die yearly for human consumption. That just breaks my heart.

Hmm... I respect your decision to be a vegetarian, and I probably saw that same video, was it called meetyourmeat? Being from the emotionally weak side of the human race that didnt do anything but make me want to eat some steak :] but thats just me, I am the kind of guy who just says "oh thats to bad", then shrugs it off.. unless its something really big and obvious, like China attacking America, then I'd pull out my dads shot-guns go buy some shells and sit on my porch and shoot Chinese invaders as they walk by. biggrin

Yeah sorry for the ramble, why I eat meat:

-I find it flavorful.
-It is an important part of your diet and although to much of it can be unhealthy without it your body becomes weak and you dont get the right nutrients.
-Taking protein pills does not adequately substitute meat.
-Humans were created to eat both meats and vegetables, so I take this into account and eat both evenly.
-There isnt enough vegetables on the planet to feed every person on the earth, if humans were to stop eating meat altogether then people would either be starving to death or the goal would be lost because we would have to kill nearly every herd mammal on the planet to find more room to grow vegetables, and then because the animals are not there to recycle the earth the ground would grow stale and eventually vegetables would either not grow or they would be less nutritious which would be bad on our bodies, ultimately the destruction or beat-down of the planet earth and the demise of humanity and other land creatures. :]

Yep; long post, long babble, im done! biggrin Enjoy your broccoli, broccoli rules. mrgreen

From my personal experiences I disagree with people being Vegetarian. The ones that i've known just give me biased sights and are so closed minded to even see it. Most of the statistics are either made up, or re-written in their favor.

We need to eat animals as it is just like if we didn't have any deaths, over population; Also, not all animals are killed as ruthless as the vegetarian videos show.

What do you eat? Where did you get these interesting facts from?

I don't support any extreme ends of anything. The two extreme ends here are : All-Meat and All-Veggies. I'll stay in the middle (balanced diet). Why you should call me: MIDDLE-MAN mrgreen .

Imagine how many flies there would be in the world if spider's didn't eat them. Hope you can use that example to translate into humans eating animals. It's a cycle. We eat animals and plants. When we die we basically dissolve into the earth over time. We take from the earth while we're alive, and give back to the earth when we're dead.

That's actually a very sad reason to not eat meat.
I mean honestly, because Myspace dictates you a Chain Letter that says, "DOODS LETS GT 2Gethors AND STOP THEM 4RM MKING MEET!!"

Pathetic.

I became a veggitarion 5 years ago. I found that I lost weight and started to eat less as I didn't need much to support a smaller body. Even though I still have a bit of trouble drinking sweet drinks... sweatdrop I still manage to maintain my current weight of 170. ^_^ 3nodding

Being a vegetarian could be somewhat healthy, though makeing a statement, it probably won't effect the average consumption of meat that much. Now a whole bunch of people would, if you want to do that then encourage other's to do so. Just remember to eat lot's of peanuts and eggs, unless eggs would also be consitered murder since it is basically preventing life in one way. I say, vegitables are also alive. They might even feel pain, though this is unofficial and yet to be determined.

Wow, you all have so much to say. They are all very good reasons not to eat meat and to eat meat. But I think I'm going to stick with not eating meat. Also, I don't think it is a sad reason not to eat meat. I think it is a very good reason not to. Animals have the right to live as much as we do. biggrin
