I just wanted to express my general frustration with things. Basically, here's my belief.

Nothing should be censored. If an idea is so powerful that it's mere existance will destroy us, well, then we are screwed, no matter how valiantly defenders try to keep us from learning it. If an idea is more powerful than people, then, sooner or later the people will learn it, and then we will all be destroyed. It's that simple for me. If we have no hope, why delay the inevitable? Especially when these valiant defenders are the only ones with the judgement to say if it is dangerous or not, they being the only ones who know it and all. I really believe no idea is dangerous. Only the people who hold them are.

In summary: The solution to knowledge is not ignorance; it is wisdom.

I agree. If we were dealing with hyperactive 7-year-olds, it'd be a slightly different story. But I'm hoping we're all at least semi-intelligent young adults, and rational enough to know that putting your hands on a hot stove will most likely result in rather nasty burns.

Quite. If knowledge was meant to be limited from the mind of humanity, it would be incapable of understanding the idea.

Ouch. A thread in response to the censorship of my thread ^^ A personal attack. Whatever shall I do?

I'll let you all know that since the censorship of the thread I've received countless PMs regarding the censored symbols and every time I've been kind enough to show them the symbol. I feel that completely withholding knowledge is pointless, especially when something so trivial isn't actually the dangerous aspect.

Congratulations on posting the symbols, by the way. I won't attempt to complain to scream, as this is only proof that doing so would just raise another mob. And I won't beg that these be removed as they'll just be posted again. However I'd like you to know that in posting those you merely tried to immaturely go against what was advised.

You want the honest answer about that symbol? It's practically worthless to most people. You can stare at it, hold it, touch it, and use it in alchemy and nothing bad will happen. However to learn of its power is dangerous. Because that symbol has nearly infinite power to bend reality, that gives nearly infinite ways to destroy the world or bring suffering to the human race. I wished to have the symbol censored not to obnoxiously keep you from information- but to prevent people from learning how to use it. If one person in a million learns how the symbol works and how to use it just that one person could ruin countless lives. To this day I may be the only one here who fully understands its power and knows how to use it to its potential. As such- I strive never to use it. Since my first day discovering it (when I was excited and used it without thinking of consequences, only to have my life erode since) I've only used it once- and that was carefully planned to benefit the many at loss to the few (only me and my father were affected negatively by that which helped near a hundred).

So go ahead and stare at that symbol. Look at it until your mind's eye bleeds. And if one of you finally understands it and realizes its power and knows how it works and gains the ability to draw on it- know that you only screwed yourself over.

I didn't have it censored for fear of many people learning something evil. I had it censored for fear that one in a million would learn how to use that evil. Despite low odds, anything above 0 is risky.
